congratulations on your first win when we spoke you said it was going to be special experiencing Old Trafford for the first time but only if you won the game so happy yeah yeah of course you you I see what everybody sees uh good moments uh difficult moments some confusion in in in the end uh trying to hold the the result but the lads uh did a great job I think they they run they press they try to do the things that we work this these three days um and we won the fans are taken to you already there quite a few of them that have that have stayed behind here just to see you come out here Ruben how does that feel to to get the Applause from them and and to to feel accepted by these fans already the first thing is that half of the the stadium doesn’t know me doesn’t really know me um I came from Portugal and I I I I don’t I did nothing for this club yet so the way they make me feel at home it’s so special you know is not after something is before something this is something special and I will keep this to to the end of my career I mean we were here just before the players were come come out before your first game which is a a really really special thing and I could feel the energy been covering these games for 10 years and actually the energy before the game was really everybody was excited because I think everybody’s looking forward to obviously the football you played at sporting which was super successful I think these fans they just they just want to be taken on a journey you know I think and that’s why that it was so exciting just to be here for for your first game what was your first game like as a United manager at home that was was uh uh like like a real ride so we start very well and then we suffer two goals two transitions uh I like the way the the players continue to play our our game I I can I can feel the the crowd when was 2-1 sometimes you won the ball and we we had problems I think in the past that we we give the ball too much so the mindset now is to keep the ball and sometimes they have to go forward so it’s they they are really really trying but I think we deserve the win is that why you play Bruno as a as a center mid maybe just to get a little bit more control cuz he’s so good on the ball you can feel it that he the the the most experienced player the the tempo sometimes we start the play and Bruno uh is is the the right man to start with the tempo of the of the play then they play with the the back four they close really inside you try to to to switch play all the time and Bruno is the best one doing doing that so um that’s why I think he’s a midfielder uh if if you see this game Mason Mount always with his back for for the goal it’s hard and Bruno um it’s better with the with a goal in front Reuben congratulations first and foremost but does every game feel like an experiment for you cuz of the lack of training time you’ve just got to go with certain risks different players different positions is that what it feels like yeah and and I get anxious because I don’t know what will happen you know because you don’t control nothing at the moment we are trying to see different things of course we have an idea for each game but I I don’t know the players and we don’t work a lot together so we go to the game excited because you want to see different things but at the same time you are a little bit anxious and nervous because you don’t know how how the the the game will go Everton here on Sunday then Reuben what’s the one thing that you want to take from this game into that one the results that’s the most important thing um the environment um I think we improve of of course a different game uh from I Swit uh but we improve of in the quality with the ball uh we had more chances we were more dangerous um but we we will have to change players you can feel it we we try to press all the time I think in the last 10 minutes was was tough um and is different for the players I I I felt Rasmus was that I felt that some players were really really tired anony came from injury uh he had to go out of of of the game I think we we did like four substitutions because of the fitness of the players not thinking about what is the best for for the uh the game we are in that moment we need the squad all together fit and you have to take some risks and that’s it well we hope you enjoyed your first experience at Old Trafford as a manager and uh we appreciate your time thank you so much you very much appreciate it good yeah two goals tonight three points Rasmus happy enough with the evening’s work yeah yes and no I think um little bit of a bad start um obviously we come back and and we show character but we want to want to make sure these games don’t get too exciting and uh yeah obviously again it’s about the three points in it and uh we did the we did the job done today it’s another fast start as it was on on Sunday that pressing from the front that led to that first goal after 50 odd seconds is that the kind of thing that Ruben Amon is trying to drill into you front players yeah exactly uh he told me today that not to think too much about um the the guys behind me and and and and try to work a little bit more uh just what I can see in the front and uh yeah be a lot very aggressive towards the goal and uh yeah obviously we saw that on on the first goal and uh yeah I’m I’m happy for that talking about not thinking too much your first goal the second one that just an instinctive touch and finish yeah I haven’t seen it back but I’ve been told by the others he was through very good so yeah obviously I’m going to go home now and and see it again the second goal though is a wonderfully work move down that right hand side lovely flick from Mason Mount as well those kind of interplays that things that you’ve been working on with the new manager yeah 100% I I I always try to stay inside the the the 16 yd box and uh yeah I got a good Corner run from from Mano and we’ we’ve worked on these s things and uh yeah the manager told me at half time just to try to to stick to to to run at the first post and uh yeah then uh we saw how it work out you’ve only had a few training sessions a couple of matches with Ruben amarim what is he trying to get into is it taking a little bit of time maybe to adapt to his ideas as a team yeah obviously it’s going to take time but I see I think we could already see now today some patterns and get it’s get it’s getting better but obviously man’s time he get the he get into the to the season after a difficult start so yeah now it’s just for us to to sort of build on it and and uh for me I think this system reminds me a little bit of about uh how we played in in Atlanta with 3 43 and uh yeah it it suits me very well very well done tonight I think you’ll enjoy watching that second goal okay I thank you after seeing him stear his side to a win in his first home match in charge so victory for am in his first night here at home Owen and Karen overall what did you make of the performance well they won the game and that’s the most important thing I think obviously going forward scoring goals was an important thing he wanted to address he did that today I think I think he’s still working on trying to find the the best balance in the team obviously Bruno played played as a 10 in the first game played a little bit deeper today A lot of people are find playing different positions so it’s going to take a bit of time see these players in different positions and then he can work out what he wants his best team to be but haven’t seen cob M knew yet um but it’s it’s a work in progress but I thought today was address the goal scoring um but I still think he’s he’s going to work on on the balance as a whole yeah it’s not going to be perfect is it Karen this is only a second competitive game in charge of Manchester United and he’s been working with these players for for only around about a week because of course some of them were away on International but it only comes from the fact that the boys are aggressive and going to press kacho was the one that finishes it off but this is what the manager wants amam he wants the boys to be in and out of possession be aggressive that’s brilliant from hland really good play and a simple tap in from K that’s what you get if you press Karen you pointed out the defensive frailties in this system against dip switch before the game and more holes are exposed in United’s defense tonight straight away from that clear in becomes an expansive game and what we know from man united is they try and be aggressive and it just pulls them apart and the defense was all over the shop and look the space on the edge of the box was clear but you see from the next Angle now where it initiates so there’s that that ball so they spread vro goes yeah I’m going to go nice and aggressive but now the space opens up everyone then decides let’s drop back to the the six yd line but then the edge of the Box is always on and because Bruno isn’t an actual Center midfielder he doesn’t naturally come back and the defensive mindset of the team isn’t quite there that was their fragility is and look they got punished from it it’s a great finish just 3 minutes 45 seconds later Owen they go in front and again you know what they try and step into mfield one ball over the top melasse gets beat in the race and to be fair to zag it’s a brilliant goal it’s a really good finish but you see Martinez step into there and it leaves that Massi at the back 1 V one good recognition from bod glimp there but a little bit too easy to play against Manchester United for that first and second goal you’d have to say bin we didn’t give them enough credit before the game they really good side beating bra and PTO already this season but I mean this was the goal that Manchester United need and this is when it’s good when when you step in like masra you got to win it then you got to show a bit of composure Good Feet I love this from hland so good really really good that is a really difficult goal fabulous goal but this is what he wants the manager one of the center backs step in win the ball and then and then you’re in there at half and then can you pick a pass which which he did it was a fantastic goal but offensively not bad but defensively they’re far too easy to play against at the moment it’s a good goal that Karen but a lot going wrong for Man United out there as well yeah there is and I think the second goal literally you just put it in behind down the channels and we were as concerned at the start Anthony not a wing back massia has been out for a year and a half so it be interested to see what he does we’ve seen Dow warming up whether he comes on or not but what we know is he’s not a right wing back Anthony and that’s where they are they’re getting vulnerable down the side he’s got to address that quickly Manchester United secured their first win under Ruben amam as rasma hodan struck twice in a seesaw 3 to2 victory over Bodo glimp at Old Trafford while the Portuguese coach’s opening fixture against ipswitch brought a new system and new approach many of the same failings set to avoid an early elimination there was less than a minute on the clock when bodog glimp keeper Nikita hkin was caught in possession by Rasmus hodg land with Alejandro gacho picking up the pieces the hosts continue to threaten enjoying plenty of possession in and around their opponent’s box only to be caught out by a one-w punch first evgen connected with an Unstoppable effort which gave Andre Onana no chance amarin’s men might well have still been licking their wounds a couple of minutes later when zinle Once of Watford outmuscle Tyrel Malaysia and fired through Onana just as the visitors looked to be going in ahead at the break though hodan’s moment arrived n mazui made the goal with a strong interception and neat footwork but the Dan still had a lot to do
