[Applause] um oh yeah J stord padic that’s Joe Smith Manchester City one Manchester United two yes two thanks to Bruno Fernandez and the greatest player in the history of association football Ahmad Dio we have beaten the blues at the listen I know beat C but it’s still mint I’m just I’m in I’m still stunned I thought we’ lost that Joe get involved in the chat and the comments by the way you know what to do um and I was fuming went be to a set piece as we often do we’ve been in the game we’ve been decent the tactics seemed right everything seemed to be sort of it made sense you could see what he was trying to do and it was relatively effective we just hadn’t quite created enough chances we created a couple of chances missed a couple of chances then Amad Dio step up wins a penalty Bruno converts a penalty I’ve still not seen it then Amaro steps up again and gets the winner limbs all over the Gaff I mean I’m running out of things to say about amalo I I thought I couldn’t love him any more than I already did after the Liverpool 43 but I’ve somehow found a way to love him a little bit more he’s just he’s just amazing yeah he’s fantastic and he and both of those goals came from him making runs in behind one of them was to capitalize on a on a poor back pass from Nunes one of them was to receive the ball from Leandro Martinez but it’s that work rate it’s the work ethic that he has and he’s got the talent he’s great on the ball his touch is good his dribbling is good he can finish he shows for his teammates he doesn’t shy away but the thing that’s setting him apart of the minute is the fact that he makes those runs Time and Time and Time Again whether it’s the 85th minute or the first minute he does the right thing all the time and I you know I don’t want to make this about players who aren’t there but I think he stands out amongst our attackers as the one who consistently does the right thing and puts the work in even if he doesn’t get rewarded for every time he tries and he makes the runs and he does the right thing over and over again and this is what happens you get your rewards and sometimes it’s forcing a mistake from the opposition or capitalizing on a mistake from the opposition and sometimes it’s just a great running behind a great touch and a great finish but Amad dialo has won as the game today and it’s fantastic to see absolutely fantastic it is I mean we and you spoken about a lot over the last sort of year and I was it was always baffing to me eron I didn’t give him more of an opportunity especially when things were going wrong cuz I just think there’s a player there you could see it last season in fits and starts but he never got a run Ruben AMS come in and to be fair it rud vanoy as well who was like look you can see the talent his kid’s got I’m trusting him Ruben arams come in tried him a wing back and he’s done well there we saw the EV game where he did very well created a couple of goals but lately we see him in the 10 and today it was just unreal for that second half he was everywhere I said to you I think I said to you at the end of the first half sorry no it was beginning second half I said it’s like having an extra man he’s that he’s not just the ability that kids’s got cuz he’s phenomenally talented footballer but the energy he was he was everywhere he’s putting in tackles he’s winning edes he’s chasing what seems like lost causes and creating some out of him I mean it’s just unbelievable and I just feel like the guy’s a limit with this kid he’s he’s had to wait he’s had to wait a while we bought him four years ago I think it was and it’s almost crazy to think that because he’s still a youngster but he’s been on loan he went to Rangers he went um on loan to Sunderland came back still wasn’t really a first teamer but he’s waited and he’s took his chances and he’s Bing his time and now you look at and you think you can’t imagine him not starting for Manchester United anymore he’s just such a phenomenal Talent yeah it’s a weird one with that because if we’d have been a bit more ruthless as a club and followed what the manager was showing us by his team selection he probably would have left a year or two ago yeah I think and and I got to the point where I thought he probably will leave at the end of the season because he’s been here this is his fourth or fifth season here he’s never even been close to a first team regular let alone you know one of the sort of the best players in the team like he is now and I thought you know consecutive managers have maybe not necessarily not fancied him but certainly not pushed him the way that I thought they might and yet we didn’t get rid of him and now it’s just been such a great decision not to and finally he’s getting his chance and he’s never got his head down he’s never been someone that sort of looks frustrated ated or annoyed that he wasn’t getting his chances he just worked away in the background did what he needed to do goes on loan works as hard as he can comes back works as hard as he can goes on loan again and he’s just someone that exemplifies hard work and sort of not giving up and and not to make this too much of a big statement but he’s the exact sort of player that United need more of and just because he’s small and he’s a tricky player you think well maybe he’s a bit of a luxury player he’s the opposite of a luxury player he’s got all that ability all that technical ability and he’s got the other stuff as well and that’s why we’re seeing him now he’s in terms of the front line he’s he’s our best player no that it’s an incredible turn for I think you’re right about the front line because the you know we’ll get into it all we’ll get into the the game in a minute I want to go through loads of chats and point about players that were there but it was a big call from Ruben H and we can get into the housing wise another time it’s not about that today but dropping two players who were more or less first team players from the squad was was huge obviously it’s paid off now but going into a game where you’ve lost back toback League games he’s obviously he’s not playing games as Ruben H him it’s this is my way or the highway and you know what like I’ll I’ll make the big decision and he’s making them it sends a message doesn’t it doing that and whether it’s the message that you know these players are going to be sold or got rid of I don’t know and people speculate on that and it might turn out to be the case it might not we don’t know that but what it definitely says is if you don’t do things the right way you won’t be in my team and not just you you’ll be on the bench and you can come on and give you you you’re not getting near it and especially in a game like this Ruben amim can’t afford to have players who he doesn’t trust on the pitch whether it’s not as trust them as people but trust their out trust their work rate trust how they commune with their teammates if it’s not right you won’t be there and you can watch it from home because we got we’ve got to do things a different way now and that’s how it has to be at Manchester United we have to have the standards and if you don’t get to those standards regardless of who you are you’re not in the team yeah and I I I completely agree with that and he took a risk because you know there was no guarantee that Matas Nunes would make that poor back pass or that that ball wouldn’t get cleared off the line by gardiol at the end there to to to win us the game like there was always the chance we lost today and there was a chance that we lost needing a player like rashford or garnacho to come on and help us out but he stuck to his guns and he said you’re not going to be in the team and I just think I I I I really respect Amon for that and I hope that those sorts of things carry on being rewarded because that decision has been rewarded today whether it be luck or whatever’s led to it United have won the game and that decision was now the right decision and that gets imprinted into the squad of if you get it wrong you’ll be out and we’ll win without and I think that’s massive and hopefully this can be a thing for Marcus and garnacho as well saying this is what happens you know if you want to get back in the team you have to improve and they can learn from that and and come back stronger but I I love that he not just made that call but if he thinks he needs to he knows that he can and I feel like everyone backed him on that including the players which is the most important thing yeah you’re right um going into the game and yet they get that goal and you think this could be one of those days where City just do what they need to do going into that second half United started to grow I felt into that second half Manuel band storming performance winning tackles creating things just breaking down C’s attack you could see how annoyed they were getting with him he kept like knocking over players and just taking the ball off them you can see foden shouting at the ref berardo Silva shouting at the ref just moaning and not getting anything from it it was just great to see that because we’ve missed that in the middle of that United midfield yeah it’s having someone in there who’s the I mean obviously casemiro was very good the season before last but he’s never had that complete coverage of a of a pitch like ugat because because we bought him as a 30-y old younger he could do it but ugat is a player who he’s got everything you want from that kind of player and and the thing that worried me when he first arrived does he take a bit longer the ball is his passing there you saw tonight 90 what is it 90% pass accuracy that’s all you need and he’s so horrible to play 95% that’s kind of ridiculous in a Manchester by way not normalize that and also if you think he’s made he’s made uh four tackles there he’s got um seven jwes won as well so a lot of those passes are coming after winning the ball back which means you’ve got opposition players around you so to do that today he was fantastic and it’s not just that kind of you know always a bit dogged when the ball’s near him he reads the game so well the amount of times where he go the the the city player will look up look back down to his feet and he’s gone he’s making the Run between the the person playing the pass and the person receiving it and he intercepts it time and time again and like you said he just makes life horrible to play against because whenever you get the ball in the middle of the pitch you’ve got an elbow in your back you’ve got a knee up your ass you’ve got him trying to fly through the back of you kicking at your ankles he’s just horrible to play against and that’s exactly the sort of player we need honestly I think he was brilliant today brilliant you got a what you got you got a knee up your arm I have to take up football uh tremble L says Kyle Walker’s acting is worse than GCSE drama students horr that was horrendous have some shame have a bit of Pride man what is going on with her how can you do that um another player I mentioned there new Mai I mean this guy yeah you know when you talk about we used to have this argument not an argument we both agreed but we used to have this dilemma almost with d and Waka that Waka was amazing defensively and offered not enough going forward and and you can get into the argument another time if you don’t agree with it Delo was good going forward but defensively could be a little bit lacking at times with ma he just seems like the perfect package at both he’s just like defensively he’s solid against someone like Jeremy dku it was mint and then he went he went on these runs and it was like watching Messi like what you doing just dancing through the city Midfield it was ridiculous yeah it he he looks to me the way he has control of his body and his Limbs and the way he sort of moves and his balance he looks like the sort of person that if you put a cricket back in his hands he’d be great put a ping pong paddle in his hands he’d be great he put him behind a [ __ ] race car and he’d get a decent M out of it he’s just good at stuff is he he controls himself so brilliantly his balance his Poise the mental his intelligence as a footballer everything he does is right and he’s never off balance he’s never getting spun he’s never getting caught he just is in the right place at all times and he’s the sort of player that you put three or four of them in your team all of a sudden the level just goes up 10% the whole team goes up 10% he’s doing it by himself at the minute in terms of bringing those levels up I think the whole back line was very good I think D was a little bit wasteful on the ball but in terms of those center backs I thought that um Harry McGuire was excellent today yeah gave nothing to Harlem whatsoever I thought Deli was very good while he was on um I I just think Martinez again was was was very good today and didn’t get caught good to see that from him as well Joe because we spoke about him day didn’t we and martinz is a player we both love but he was becoming a little bit worried one it this season you go a couple of poor games what’s going on with Lisandro and today we saw him faultless I thought I I can’t remember anything he did wrong all of the center backs were and and and that back three I think you got the root ation options there with yoro you can bring Luke sha in bring M ma back but I think when you got a big Striker like Harland Maguire put him on him who Allen yeah was he that he played today [ __ ] off no he played he played the full game for have read that somewhere yeah no I swear I didn’t know it myself but I had to Google it um but Maguire just locked him off like harand was was a non threat today and it wasn’t just Maguire the whole the whole team did well martinz to him as well but there are certain games where you use the tools that you have and today we needed someone who could defend the box cuz City like to go in behind and Chip Balls to the back post Martinez Maguire and and delit were fantastic against that and just just a good all round performance we conceded three shots on target away to Man City and I know this isn’t the man city of 2021 or whatever I don’t know if they won the league that year but they probably did yeah they did like it’s not the best man city we’ve ever seen yeah but we haven’t beaten them or beaten a top team away from home in what 15 tries is it something like ten didn’t do it tenh never beat a top which is I bloody hell that was you know and Ruben’s done it you know this is the second time he’s beat pep guard in about two months yeah like that’s ridiculous um phenomenal sub and um I think I might have already read this which is Ahmad again and the fourth one we w we we win the game and it’s Ahmad again so three of those four were Ahmad but also they were the four best chances of the game yeah like obviously City scored from that header which was which was a good chance but in terms of open Play Chances they were the only four big chances of the game City had three and we only had three shots on target as well but the difference in quality of chances United genuinely deserved to win if either team deserved to win it was us today and I I don’t remember the last time I said that about a game at the etad I think it was 51% possession 49 to to city as well so dead even in terms of possession we went there we had as much ball as they did we created as many chances and better chances than they did and we won the game I don’t remember the last time we did that I phenomenal no it is phenomenal it’s it’s all popping off Bernardo Silva to Sky says we totally deserve what happened if you make these kind of Mason Mount and we know why we bought him and you think that actually on paper he fits his system perfectly and to go get subbed after 11 minutes like he did because of an injury I I do feel for the kid and I I wonder just if this is going to have a happy ending I don’t think it will it’s shame for for Mason Mountain you could see how sad he was and it must be almost bizarre and kind of unnerving for him is is’s a lad in his mid 20s and he’s gone from being someone that never gets injured to he can’t stay fit that’s a that must be a really difficult transition to accept as a as a footballer like in his early 20s he was playing 50 odd games a season yeah and now it’s two or three in a row and he’s going down and it’s a muscle and it’s two or three weeks and he’s back and it like it must be really really difficult for him and and I feel sorry for him and also for amam who clearly fancies him as a player he keeps giving him chances um because you don’t know how bet he so Furious I bet as a manager cuz Southgate loved him didn’t it I bet as a manager ideal play cuz he does what he’s what you want him to do you say you play there you do that and he’ll do it do you know what I mean
