yeah it took us a little bit to get going um obviously a few days few days off here for us and um not much of game action lately so you know they theyve been they played last night and uh definitely more than we have last few days they just seem to be a little bit sharper and a little quicker off the get- go but uh I think we just stayed with it and eventually you know our game started to come uh had a real good second period uh jary momentum obviously were able to grab the lead and then um just tried to make it difficult for them especially uh uh knowing they’re they’re on the second half of a back toback uh you just try to make them have to come 200 feet come through all five guys and really have to earn opportuni so uh good team win overall Waller was great so um another good one to build on two St I should say four straight game two points for Mitch how would you describe the level that he’s been playing at lately yeah I mean I think it’s just kind of standard uh the level uh that he brings uh year in and year out and what he brings to our club and what he means to this team uh you know he’s uh you know an elite player makes plays does so many good things without it plays in all situations um you know brings uh brings an element to uh to our locker room that is unique so um you know we’re really lucky to have them what did you see on that play um yeah I just uh I got the puck low in our Zone and uh I saw Mitchie Reed that uh you know there was some open Ice ahead I don’t know if they were changing for sure but he certainly read that uh there was an opportunity to get above him and I saw the lane so I just tried to fire it as hard as I could to make it sure didn’t get deflected and whatnot and happy uh happy you got to him and obviously he did the rest if someone were to tell you three weeks ago that this team would go seven and one without Austin what would you say uh honestly that’s not your thought process I think uh you know I think guys that have been here there’s uh guys in and out throughout the course of Seasons different years you know Austin’s missed a little bit of time before but uh um you know we just believe in the group and and the identity we’re trying to build the type of game we’re trying to play and I think the depth we have and and all everyone that’s uh that’s a part of it so uh don’t get me wrong we want him back as soon as possible so but uh good job by everyone uh just just continuing to go to work and and do what we need to do uh each and every game to build and get better and earn results Great level trust obviously in your fourth line they started the game some big shifts little creativity too from well it takes everyone to to win and have success and sustain success especially uh over our long grueling season and then uh what playoff hoe is all about so um our depth has been great I think uh whe whether certain guys are getting more ice time more opportunity uh guys that have uh getting called up and getting getting a chance uh to play and prove themselves I mean um it’s what we want to see and what what’s important for for a team to have success throughout a long season so um they especially I thought in the first period that you know they seem to have the best legs of everyone they were they they had some good jums jump and created some pressure some opportunities so set the framework for the rest of the group to follow and and uh everyone was able to uh to catch up once uh once we got our legs under us of how Alex played in his team debut here I thought he was solid uh created some really good opportunities you can see the type of poison skill that he has um he’s obviously been around uh a little bit so understands the league and the game and not trying to do too much and uh knowing the opportunities are there so um thought he played really well your team this game over second um yeah just thought we played a lot better straight forward um North so um as soon as we started doing that we want a little bit more battles as well and and made quick plays off it and um got rewarded for it how did you see your breakway go developing from um yeah well I saw Tanny kind of winning that battle and the puck kind of um skirting free um saw Johnny was able to go get it and kind of turn up ice with his head up and and you know some free space in front of him and um just tried to read what I had in front of me and there was a big app there so just Tred to find it and TR made a great pass something said after the first period just Collective awareness that you guys had to pick it up um a little bit of both I mean obviously we knew it wasn’t our best um you know not much going in the offensive zone a lot of defensive uh play in our zone so we knew we had to be a lot better what’s your sense of what this night meant to William and Alex yeah definitely a lot I mean um sure for the whole family it’s special moment um the two of them playing in the NHL together um couple line couple shifts together as well so something definitely very cool and um something I’m sure they’ll remember for a long time how do you approach a game when there’s so many regular forwards out of the line um just like the last couple I mean um you know people need to step up and I think a lot of guys have done this in that done that in this locker room and um got to continue to do it surprised at all that this team is seven and one now with Austin um I I mean you know we have a lot of great uh great players regardless if it’s on our team or in the Marley’s organization so lot of guys down there that can definitely be playing a fulltime HL roster so um you we got a lot of confidence who’s in our lineup and um you know that’s how you have to play they started the game obviously yeah was great um they played a great game for us tonight they were they were heavy on the puck in the ozone making a lot of uh you know smart decisions with that puck as well and and hard to play against so something you love to see similar the brothers from your perspective uh yeah I mean I think you see it from how they dress to on the ice and stuff you kind of get lost sometimes thinking who’s who so um yeah both got a lot of swagger and a lot of confidence that’s what you love to see out of those two and um they play with it as well about tonight I mean just the entire day was uh special and know seeing uh seeing him out there and first period was kind of just like crazy felt felt pretty crazy and then uh you know settled in and it uh felt more uh more normal so uh that it was very special and of course we got got the win which was nice would it mean to get a few shifts together as well yeah uh obviously that was that was a lot of fun um I mean if he stays up it’ be nice to get some more together were you suggesting that the coach were you suggesting that to Craig that he throw you out together no I didn’t say anything it’s just all Chief’s call I mean not so much I mean just uh just a little bit I said all nice try on the one he hit the post the other one where he stepped in from the wall in the first period like keep going what are you going to remember most about tonight I mean there’s a lot just just an amazing feeling and really special special feeling to be here on this team and my brother here so it’s it’s something I remember forever what did it mean to get some shifts together oh it was really cool we almost had a chance there to get one and uh it was a lot of fun you know just kind of know how he play so just kind of read off him and uh it was really special your game I’m sorry not during the game you say was the conversation during the during the day with him yeah you know he he obviously uh is really happy and it’s a big moment uh to play our first game and he just said you know same thing as every game you know just play your game and uh you know work hard and be have on the four check so just just the same thing as usual and uh yeah it was good your game play quite a few NHL games were there any nerves today actually I felt pretty good out there um I thought it was going to be a little bit more but you know since I played a lot of games last year and there in Columbus that helped so you know playing this level so just uh just felt F felt good out there throughout the warm-ups and stuff obviously had a little bit nerves but uh not too bad as you know more forward as more forwards get healthy what do you think you need to do to stick the big Club here yeah you know I I obviously just got to work hard every shift you know like I said be heavy on the for win battles and uh when I do that the rest of my game comes obviously try to use my shot as much as possible and uh you know create plays and be good defensively what happened between periods after the first period kind of kick flat in the first I thought and just you know you can tell off face offs and guys aren’t jumping and they’re not getting a pick and just things like little things like that we didn’t play North right away in in the first we were kind of like trying to go back and regroup too much and um you know guys you know I think it we just talked about it between periods and they did a real good job of adjusting and and played a great second and Drew some penalties power play was excellent gave us a lot of momentum um you know and kind of changed the game how do you think Alex need Le to fit in he was fine I mean had a couple chances a couple looks you know um used them in different situations and stuff but uh I thought it was fine overall what was your sense of what this moment meant to the brothers and maybe your inspiration get out well I think it’s it’s great I mean for sure um you know anytime you can play with your brother and play some shifts with your brother and be on the ice with them that’s a special uh thing it’s a special situation very happy for both of them and their dad who is a player in the league for a long time another multipoint game for Mitch ma are you seeing anything different in his game recently or is it business as usual I think it’s business as usual I think you know even you know early on in the year you know he he was playing really good hockey for us um in all situations not just scoring and everything I find he’s shooting a little bit more which is great um I think he can still shoot more but um you know it’s he’s doing a real good job for us what’s your level of trust in that Loren line to start the game yeah obviously well I got a lot of trust in their work um I think all three guys are very hard workers responsible players um so they started uh the buuk deadline and I thought it would be a good matchup t for them um tonight and they did a good job against that line that’s a good line it’s a big line you know but these guys work and uh compete hard and they’re in the right spots how’ you feel you Clos the game out there in the in the third period I thought we did a good job overall I thought that we had some Pucks in our Zone that we should have just got out and we didn’t do that tried to make a play or um you know just kind of we weren’t heavy enough on it we we should have got the puck out a few times with a goalie out and we didn’t Nick Robertson still seems to be getting chance you know Nikki I thought Nikki had a good game though um worked extremely hard you know was in the right spots defensively and did his job had some looks and it didn’t go in I mean he’s just got to stick with it it’s it’s going to go in eventually for him um we all feel for him you know and we want him to put the pocket in that and he’s just I mean it’s it’s not easy it’s not uh I wouldn’t know anything about it because I didn’t worry about that but I mean he’s the type of player that wants to score goals and and U that’s part of his job um but you know he did he did some real good things tonight even though he didn’t score how does for a big week of divisional games yeah big week coming up in Florida for sure um two two teams that are very good in our division and uh you know we’ll see if we get any healthy bodies back but um you know it’s going to be a battle starting in Florida
