Maryland grad chipped away in the second held on for the onepoint victory this close game like this Maryland came into this game with some high expectations and we’ve been concerned about vill Nova this season is this more about Maryland coming back winning this game maybe playing down to Villanova a little bit or more about vova playing up to a level that Maryland has been at I think it’s more about Maryland because um 38 points college basketball is not something you see every day um and I mean I don’t I don’t know what the number like the stat is on this but like I’d have to assume you know when people score like 35 Plus those teams have to be winning at like a 70% or higher clip you know what I mean because like 38 points 38 points is 50% of like most like team’s like scoring output you know what I mean like that’s a lot of points so I think it’s more so about Maryland being able to withstand that kind of be able to whether that’s storm um they mentally they looked very strong and and you know what for for what it’s worth I Eric Dixon at 38 points uh Derek Queen 221 and5 he was as good if not better than Eric Dixon today so I think it’s it’s one of those things where like Marilyn showed like hey man like we can take anybody’s best punch including probably the best individual performance they’ll go up against this year I was just about to bring that up because second half of this game Queen had 18 six and three in just second half outplayed dicks in the second half when they needed it Maryland as a team shot 17 and 19 from the field in the second half just under 59% Bova M way was three or 14 from three in the second half when they needed to Marilyn clamped down did what they needed to do on both ends of the Court won the rebounding battle second half got to the foul line were much more aggressive than Villanova was in that second half and that was that was good to see from Maryland because it it showed me some kind of mental resolve right and some composure and this is a team that has some experience is also relying on newer guys and some younger guys particularly in Queen’s case and they met the challenge you know they didn’t perform well or through their expectations in the first half and fought back got it to a point where they you know escaped what may look what we may look back on as being a bad loss they they survived and got the win I think I think there’s something to be said for that yeah I completely agree and I think those are like those are the markings of a great team is um like can you win going up against someone else best performance when you don’t necessarily have your best stuff right and like what they proved today is like Marilyn Villanova play 10 times I’m taking Maryland all 10 times because you’re not getting a better Villanova performance and I know you’re getting better Maryland per performances than this so uh I I thought it was a very very impressive Victory I think Maryland’s very legit um and honestly listen Derek Queen might be the best freshman in college basketball like Cooper flag is phenomenal but this kid is crazy good too he’s got the he’s got the edge too he’s got the edge to him oh yeah oh yeah and he he’s looked better to me than the ace Bailey and Dylan Harper so far I think he’s looked I’m a big fan of man man I think he’s looked better than man man it’s really like to me it’s him e or CP that have been the most impressive so and he he continued to add to his resume today absolutely um who could most use Eric Dixon right now if he had hit the transfer portal and played for a useful team uh a few teams few teams uh North Carolina is right at the top of my list yep um I think North I think North Carolina could really use him um um that was who I was think Kansas they need another score bad yeah I just I I appreciate what he has meant to this vova program and I appreciate his willingness to stay loyal to that um but like this was a great performance from him and seeing it kind of get wasted because he got no help from anybody is kind of the way I was scared this season was going to go for him and that’s that’s the way it’s been that’s the way it’s been um but
