[Music] so we now have Elliot Freedman dropping a bombshell and by the way I love this guy he always drops Bombshells he’s by far the best Insider in the business in my opinion anyway this is just my opinion obviously um some people have their favorites but you know it was a little bit surprising to me uh I mean he the the way this came out was just really really weird you usually just don’t see it come out like this in in in my opinion and you usually don’t see things like this from a team that has like 25 points at this uh Time of the Season but yes they did get like smoked pretty badly by the Edmonton Oilers but again I mean I just I know I’m going to keep I’m going to say this a lot that the Rangers are not a bad team by any means like let’s be clear but they were much much better last year at least so far I mean the season isn’t over just to be clear um but yeah they got crushed like 6’2 by the Oilers and apparently fredman said after I don’t I don’t know if I mean they’re really interested in in essentially shaking up their roster now it’s hard to say exactly what the truth is here because sometimes management will use things like this to kind of I don’t know light a fire under a team do you understand what I mean like almost just like hey you know you’re going to get traded uh kind of thing now I don’t know if that’s true um but alas they probably are going to be making changes at some point uh uh soon anyway I mean they have to resign eigor Sherin as well and apparently eigor Sherin wants like $1 million which I don’t know I think that’s absolutely outrageous I don’t know if I would pay him that I mean he’s got a 914 sa per average this season which I mean that’s good it’s pretty damn good no doubt about it but like would you pay a goalie like that that much money I don’t know but anyways yes they are looking to move on or at least make changes from Chris krider and Jacob trouba now it depends on what you could get back for these players like they are still relatively Marky players albeit um you know Jacob trouba has taken a little bit of a step P back in recent history right now I’m first going to analyze Chris krider um you know he’s a really good player like I find he’s generally like really good in front of the net when I watch him with the Rangers like always been pretty good in front of the netet pretty sharp player you know can score but he’s got a really weird stat line this year like a really strange stat line he’s got nine goals and zero assists um obviously that’s not going to cut it they need him to at least be like a 70 point player right like you have to be able to produce more than that I mean nine points even if they are goals which by the way goals are more valuable for sure than assists but you know you just have to perform more than that and he has 2 years remaining and he is a UFA in 2027 and he gets paid 6 and5 million it’s not like the guy’s getting paid you know 11 million or something like that like you know that it’s it’s a decent you know it’s not like the end of the world but you need him to produce more it’s not it’s not shocking that his name has shown up in trade rumors is all that I’m saying he is currently 33 years old um still I mean at the later Prime but yeah no it I mean but again though I don’t know what the Rangers are thinking here I’m not sure if the Rangers are thinking you know we want to trade and then what are they what are they thinking to get back from you know what I mean cuz obvious here’s the thing they want to remain a competitive team so this team is obviously going to be look for looking for more of a of a hockey trade right like we’ll give you our uh good guy for you know good a good guy but who would they really trade with like what what team I’m trying to think of what team they could really trade with that would make logical sense but I’m having difficulty with this one cuz the trades like this are like really difficult to make it’s not like it’s not that easy just to say Hey you know we’re going to trade all this cap space but they they’re they’re very motivated from what what fredman said they are very motivated to make a trade currently now when it comes to Jacob tro but like I said earlier I’m going to say it like I think that he has taken a little bit of a step back in my opinion uh for the past couple of years I think actually he’s taking a little bit of a step back I’ve never been the hugest Jacob trouba guy I just I’m not sure if he’s that good but he’s got about six points in about the same amount of games um he does play about 20 minutes so he is playing relatively like consistent Topline time but I mean you just need him to perform a little a little bit better right like I I like I said I’m going to say this a couple times but it’s not a shock that these two names are showing up in trade rumors at least from me if you can give me a different point of view please drop it in the comments and honestly the the hardest part about this is trouba’s being play paid 8 million um if he was if he was performing like a number two defenseman that wouldn’t be that bad but this is this is I mean 8 million is a lot of you need him to perform in my opinion that’s number one defenseman money you need to be in all situations number one d uh offensively in the neutral zone good play in your own Zone uh you you need to bring it all you need to bring it all and I don’t really think that’s what trouba has been doing now the reason like I’m going to go back to this again here but the reason that I’m saying that I think that the the New York Rangers are using this to light a fire like I don’t I mean I think that they would be willing to make trades but I think that when teams do this they’re just trying to light a fire under a team um and almost you know get them going because like how are they going to trade 8 million and 65 million off of their roster I mean I you could do it but boy trades like that trades like that generally will take like 6 months at least to come together right they don’t just come together overnight you have to literally you know you have to figure them out for a long long period of time that’s all I’m saying so this is why this is why I’m a little bit like again if you disagree with me please drop it in the comments but this is one thing where I’m like I just I just don’t see this happening I mean dude that’s like that’s like a lot that’s like $4.5 million off your cab now perhaps from their point of view they are thinking that well we need to shine Igor Sherin and well maybe if we can make a hockey trade it might actually make sense right like that that maybe maybe that’s what the Rangers management is thinking here um I I don’t know this this one is going to be incredibly difficult to pull off but I would love to see it man I love to see trades I trade rumors are the best we need more trades so honestly when I saw this my jaw hit the ground and I was
