look they’re now in the title game with the Auburn Tigers Memphis beating Michigan State in the uh late afternoon in Maui yesterday uh impressive win uh balance scoring made their free throws again Auburn then handled Yukon or uh uh North Carolina for much of the game North Carolina made a run in the second half Auburn made a lot of big shots in the last seven eight minutes of the game every time they needed a big three a big jumper a hoop they got it so this is Auburn and Memphis look at that tantalizing bet us line again they’re teasing us on the day this is like a preemptive piece of pumpkin pie before Thanksgiving here uh that Memphis is getting eight and a half points thoughts on this Corby a quick thought on this with a total of 155 a half in Maui championship game this afternoon yeah these are some of my favorite type of teams in any sport the team that uh when they’re doing good the the the the fans are just like man we’re the we’re the best and then when they just have like one fault they’re like man this team sucks going to fire the coach it reminds me of Alabama football this year uh Alabama football this year I got told three weeks ago this is the worst team we’re going to fire the coach uh they win two games one vers tell you and I’m like I got a call from my dad that was like hey do we look better than when we did under saving and it’s like no like what are we talking about here again the same thing here in Memphis like we can get hyped up that they are in the championship and I I agree it’s good for basketball that Memphis is good they’re an eight and a half Point dog for a reason this is not Auburn they could win this game again like it’s basketball but this team isn’t Auburn uh I have Auburn number one in the nation by a pretty healthy margin uh the interesting thing here is Baker I don’t even know to say this guy’s name Chad Baker marar Baker I know Matt talked about this yesterday on the show but watching that first game I mean he was hurt like he was definitely hurt um he came back yesterday played plenty fine he was two for six from three My worry is like like he’s definitely going to take the lack of rest harder than everyone else um so there would be a worry there I still think on in every position Auburn is a better team um if I was to bet this game I did not bet this game as you can imagine show I not betting the number one team in the nation I’m betting the number 300 team in the nation so if I was to bet this game I would look for a Chad Baker mazara under and I would play some kind of like player prop under and the thought that like if his knee is hurt which it definitely is uh he’s played back-to-back days on it the third day inevitably he’s going to be a little slower than everybody else it is third game in three days Matt Cox thoughts on Auburn again Memphis at an advantage just from a rest standpoint they played in the afternoon and concluded about six hours before the Auburn North Carolina game did on the timeline for whatever that’s worth for the championship game in Maui on ESPN five eastern time thought Matt Cox on Memphis Auburn yeah I think Auburn’s playing they’re at that level where you just don’t want to get in front of a freight train I looked at some of my betting results the last couple of years and very funny subset of my least profitable bets were against the elite teams right like fading Houston obviously fading Yukon the last two years like well yeah why would you do that that’s too it’s well it’s a great point yes there’s a ton of value on Memphis at least as I see it but I think that’s a naive assumption that you know maybe Auburn is just a runaway you know bowling ball that why would you get in the way of them I mean the way they I mean own the game against UNC last night for the most part I know Memphis is playing really well um I’m a little worried that those shots that Tyrese Hunter and PJ Hager that they’ve been hitting they came into Memphis as basically non- sheers or very inconsistent cheers at best now those rims are soft they’re basically like a you know a Vortex suction that brings them into the the hoop so maybe that keeps working tonight but I think after a while those are going to start to miss and this Memphis team that we had concerns about floor spacing outside of Colby Rogers who was a great shooter by the way I think maybe that cramps up today and it’s a bad team to have to play inside out against against uh Auburn with Joni broom up there as good as Dane Daner has been um if those outside shots are not falling I think Memphis can look really one-dimensional and Auburn again I think they can punish Memphis in transition uh if Memphis is looking to get a little antsy on the offensive class as well there is a lot of chat in the chat a lot of banter about whether or not I’m going to live button this game for the alma moer uh here we go the hat is on here for this and I said 48 hours ago jent on this program that I loved a first half over with Yukon and Memphis I’m looking at the fatigue Factor I’m looking at the fact that Auburn may try to grind a little more I’m looking at the BET us line here for the first half showing me 74 a half right now live bet us line Kevin get the live button out because I’m saying under the first half total in Maui of 74 and a half if na do were here on with us he says like I can totally see this being like 3330 Auburn at the half so let’s go under 74 and half for the first half I think this is going to end up being a close game what am I supposed to say I’m a Memphis Alum I think it’s I don’t think Auburn’s going to toast them but um I think it could be low-scoring in half number one so play the first half under I knew Captain under would agree with me Corby Craig play the first half under in Maui yeah go ahead two things because you know you know me I’m I’m a psycho and I’m sitting here chatting reading the chat listening to you doing everything I could possibly do to keep my brain going on a on a Wednesday I have a couple questions for you too uh one’s from the chat and one is a shout out to you TJ that’s a good bet um it’s gonna be fun to back a Maui under that’s uh it’s probably the worst worst way to start your day but you know I think the number’s High North Carolina last night North Carolina a lot of Firepower 72 points in the first half all right the question the question from the chat because I I have an opinion that agrees with Jeff and every person in the chat disagrees who do you all think is the best player currently in the nation right now and I I’ll give my answer and it’s the reason I’m talking about it in this game Jeff agrees and every person in chat is clowning him I think Janai broom the best player in the nation right now and my reason isn’t because what he does I get it if you look at like if you look at numbers if you look at anything I could understand why you say no have you guys seen how many double teams he’s pulled like he might not be putting up the best numbers but from a productive standpoint like what is he doing for his team I think he’s the best player in the nation right now do I think he a win player of the year I don’t think he does enough um but that’s what I’m taking well Jeff na is saying that na was saying that Cooper flag is still in college basketball uh at the moment and there’s some other candidates obviously out there too all right Matt Cox get in here a little bit on Memphis and I’m playing the first half under anything else no I kind of like that angle I think you’re right maybe Penny looks at yesterday right more of a a less frenetic game the success they had uh controlling Tempo maybe he thinks that’s a recipe to success again today so I I I like what you’re putting down there um and they have been much better in transition defense this season I think it was sort of a it was an issue that Penny had had in Prior years seems like they’ve really tightened that up this year it’s early um but I like that in terms of player of the year I I think cam Jones is might be my pick I know I think the right pick is Cooper flag or broom I think cam Jones might be my pick at stands right now I agree and I must say I I I put this in the chat I must say I mean at the current moment I do not think ji broom will be the best player by the end of the year cam Jones absolute best broom won the game with Iowa State with the tip in he was really good again last night against North Carolina but he may not even be the best player in Maui right now that might be Tyrese Hunter it it might be one of the Memphis guys depending on what goes on in this game again just once more the live button is the under and I see currently on the BET us line that’s 74
