occasionally good news possibly bad news constantly constantly constantly and that’s why we have a ton of shows and offseason is all about news and rumors and that’s what we’re trying to break down to the wano watch parties through the hot stoves and any other show that we do throughout the course of the offseason welcome back to the channels guys if you’re new to the channel hit that subscribe button and hit on that like button Chris welcome back we are working overtime today for the people Rob we are working overtime and I love it though because I love it like this this is what I live for right just talking Mets baseball talking about what could be next always trying to think ahead yesterday on the stream we talked about trying to get ahead and think like David Sterns would think right and trying to see what his next move would be which is not very easy for us to do by the way so we hope you all appreciate the content hopefully you’re not sick of our faces but if you are I can’t really blame you but yeah we’re on you know Juan stto watch again um this time we’re GNA talk about Wan sto but we’re also going to talk about a lot of other things surrounding the New York Mets we’ll talk about bat options on the trade market um I I thought about about this long and hard and you know we will get into that here in just a second we’ll talk about the starting pitching listen we got a lot to cover um again if Juan sto signs tonight we will not only do this but we also do a live stream when he officially signs we will be up again probably until 2 am just like we were last night so again we’re on top of this guys this is the channel to be my channel Rob’s Channel both of our channels smash the Thumbs Up Button let’s have a great great great let’s get it absolutely so look look guys we know it’s frustrating for Yankee fans me fans Jay’s fans socks fans just Major League Baseball fans in general I can assure you right now I have a friend who is he he’s a he’s a minor league reporter but he is at the winter meetings he sent me a picture of the craziness uh in the the hallways of like the main hallway where all the cameras are and everything like that and he everything he keeps on just hearing people talking about what is wano doing you know there is reporters that are asking other reporters have you heard anything like he’s been like he’s focused on the prospect angle of trade possibilities right he he is a um a Marlins uh minor league reporter right he he deals with the prospects there I’ve known him since G’s elementary school and he recently got the job about a year ago and he focuses on the prospects mostly and he’s all his job is to learn about trades and he and I’m G to this is a report from him this is from him not from me I’m just telling you what he said to me that he hasn’t heard anything about the Mets trade wide as of yet he says they’re fully focused on Juan stto along with the New York Yankees so uh that’s what he he heard the first couple hours he was there and you know he said that you know constantly Ken rosenal is running back and forth in the hallway he said uh constantly so um listen it it’s it’s always epic at the Emma winter meetings even if it’s slow they make it seem like it’s extremely important but I think there’s going to be so much activity this winter meetings that I think we’re actually G to be shocked by the end of it to be quite honest with you I think the majority of the free agents are gonna be off the board and this is not just like my opinion I just feel like it’s gonna start it’s gonna start quickly after wano signs Chris so and look we know we’ve talked about Wan stto for two days now it and plus but the Mets have other issues they have other spots that they need to fill in his roster rotation Bullpen the possibilities of a plan B a plan C if Juan sto is not wearing orange and blue and queens starting Pinch at interest we we talked about this the other day we talked about this for the last couple of days the report came out that Mets have interest in every picture that is not named um Burns and freed right pavetta evaldi FL um berer um manah all the all these guys right I would say possibly number twos definitely a lot of number threes right that’s basically what it is at this point so do I dict the Mets are probably leaning more towards those caliber of pitchers Yes again I still think they’re going to be in trade talks with a start start uh a Topline starter I just don’t know how realistic it is anymore I I don’t know anymore I don’t I don’t want to say yes or no because I’m getting frustrated at the whole thought process of them not getting the Top Line starter and going with midlevel starters and hoping that somebody steps up I think that’s a you know a scary game to play when you’re trying to get further than where you were last year which is further than the NLCS which is obviously the World Series that is the goal at least that’s our goal I don’t know I’m assuming the organizational goal is the World Series so interest Wise from the New York Mets right it’s no shock that they’re interested in all of those guys those are probably ranging from oneyear Pro it deals to probably threeyear deals with maybe an opt out in between if I had to tell you the Mets are GNA take two of those guys who who would you want and who do you think the realistically the Mets are looking at as their favorites well first and foremost the names that you know you just mentioned right I mean I like them all I’m not going to lie to you I like them all they don’t fit the bill of being a co-ace and again we’ve talked about the freed and and burn situation it’s looking likely until we hear otherwise that they will not be in on those guys and that’s not their priority but when you talk about the quality of arms that you can still have at your disposal right with the names you just mentioned um buer right eovaldi I like ivaldi a lot I like ber a lot sha man I think we’ve been all screaming at the hilltops to try to resign Shawn manah right because he was such an integral part of that team and it just looks like you know he’s a bulldog out there man he wants the baseball and so does Walker ber like I want guys that want the baseball you know what I mean and give me like a lot of those guys right and then we’ll figure it out Peta has also been Mr consistent over the past three seasons at the very minimum as well um and then who was the last one I’m missing one more right Peta ber Mana eovaldi am I missing one more uh um you are I wrote it down I um it does it doesn’t matter though it doesn’t really matter those names right there within a nutshell I like a lot euu valdi is a very intriguing piece for me because with him being 34 years old I think that he is the most in line obviously Walker berer fits that category as well but when you take about take a look at sha Manaya and piveta they’re both in line for three to four year deals given their production value and given the age there um if I’m not mistaken I know sham manah is in for a a longer term deal like three or four years pavetta is as well I think he’s 31 somewhere around there if I’m not mistaken but if you want to prioritize the shorter term deals that’s Walker buer and Nate eovaldi right there in a nutshell and I do like eovaldi a lot because I like the combination of pitches that he utilizes primarily the splitter and if I had to prioritize any types of pitchers from what I’ve seen um over the past couple of seasons in terms of what pitch usually is very successful it’s definitely the splitter and that’s what eovaldi relies on as his secondary pitch outside of the fast ball and let’s not forget that eovaldi also I mean he’s 34 years old but he still throws 95 96 miles per hour so there’s a lot of Life on that fast ball as well that’s something that you wouldn’t get from a sham manah who we know throws 92 to 94 right he can ramp it up to 95 but he’s usually sitting anywhere between 92 to 93 right um but again if you’re asking me to rank those guys we know that they’re mid rotation type of guys at best a two more realistically a three I think eovaldi is probably the closest in my humble opinion to being a co-ace and then after that probably Shawn manah it’s close between those two guys but if you look at at it contractually I do think if David Sterns continues to prioritize the one to twoyear Deals you can have ber on a one-year deal or a two-year deal with the player opt out after the first year and you can have Nate e evaldi for a straight up two-year contract now again the aav for these guys are going to be what they are right e of all these prices is going to go up as is Shawn manah so it is kind of that game if I had to rank the sort of wants um I probably say I have to stick to my original plan in having berer and manah as my one two or manah then berer as my one two excuse me and then evaldi as my three and then Peta as my four but again that I don’t want to discredit Peta because he again you like that consistency from a pitcher and I think that’s what the Mets also like is just that consistency Factor there’s a lot of other guys that we’re naming right now that just don’t have that type of consistency Shawn manah as you pointed out many many times we know he made the mechanical TW week we know that he has had succcess in one season pitching in the bright lights of New York can he repeat that success when the book is out on him right that is a very valid question so again I’m not you know saying that maniah is still not a project quote unquote because again he probably still has some tweaks to make in my opinion uh to try to stay ahead of the curb and same thing with ber but I would take the risk on those two guys to be honest with you just given the type of stuff that they have and I do think that ber has some Elite uh stuff when you take a look at his Arsenal and his distribution of pitches it’s just that the injury bug has gotten him so many times and that’s another discussion within itself I always talk about I always preach about availability is your biggest asset and that would kind of go against me wanting Walker buer but there’s something about berer right in terms of him being versatile the at worst case scenario you can throw him in the bullpen right just as you got in a guy like Kay Holmes at worst so maybe we’re not talking about adding just two of these three of these four we’re talking maybe about adding three of these four as a fallback plan so again it’s always good to stack arms but I think that we can all relate to the fact that we want the Mets to sign or trade for that coas and there’s some smoke surrounding Garett crochet there are numerous teams in on Garrett crochet alongside the Mets I would believe at least doing their due diligence you have the Phillies uh who are strong contenders you also have the Yankees as of recent many reports have come out about the Yankees joining The Sweep Stakes of Garett crochet and you have the NL Central teams as well the Cubs and the Reds trying to make their rotation stronger and by the way the Cubs and the Diamondbacks have already had talks surrounding Cody Bellinger and Jordan Montgomery so the Cubs want to solidify that rotation the Garrett crochet sweep Stakes is just getting started yeah evaldi is very interesting because we know he can be an ace type guy I’m not saying he will be or he you know we’ve seen him do it right he’s pitched in a hell of a lot of big games and I love guys that’s been there done that right I think that I think that’s a huge thing right there’s the reason why Garen Cole grick Cole is a damn good pitcher in the postseason right you could talk about other guys in the postseason you know there’s great pitchers that you know H how many years Clint kerser couldn’t win a playoff game right there’s there’s certain guys that just step up in the playoffs evaldi is that guy right you seen him with the Rangers you seen it with Boston like you didn’t see it with the the Yankees but you seen it with you know the most recent teams that he’s been on and I like that right ber I was I was concerned about ber you know not really an option and I think we talked about this during the season right that ber is gonna be a free agent and you know I don’t like the way he’s looked when he came back with the Dodgers he was thr 94 95 but when he got to the postseason now that can be all adrenaline but he was throwing 96 to 98 and if he can get back to that and you always like a pitcher two years after Tommy John right he took he basically took two years left you know who that reminds me of Zack Wheeler now I’m not saying buer is gonna be Zack Wheeler but you see what happened when it took Zack Wheeler longer to get back and that rest basically saved his arm through that Tommy John uh rehab and you know the progress that you have to get as a a pitcher It’s usually the second year that really the pitcher takes that next step you know the mental aspect of you know to letting it Loose not worrying about your your elbow you know popping right you know I think that’s what every pitcher and I think it takes a while and you’ve seen that with Walker buer in the postseason and look I’m I would not be mad if it’s evaldi buer I I probably prefer that over manah buer now I probably prefer man evaldi uh I might like that a little bit more but either one of those Duos I think manah buer is nice but if it’s ber if it’s evaldi and one of the other two manah or ber I would be okay I would be fine with now I’m not gonna say that ivaldi’s gonna necessarily step into be our Ace but you could do a lot worse you know you really could right ivaldi has a track record manah with this new mechanics you don’t know there’s too there’s a question mark there if manah can be a coas or a number three or two three with kod senga and ivaldi’s your guy and then you got David Peterson and Montas it’s not bad like I I’ve seen evaldi you know be big game pitcher after big game pitcher and that’s what he does and he’s good and he’s really good so if I had to choose between two guys like I know you said three out of the four I I’d be shocked if it’s that much um but but if I have to choose the two I would go manah and ivaldi now the issue with that is that there’s a possibility that maniah could get four years there’s a possibility that ivaldi could get three to four years is David Sterns going to go four years on both of those guys that’s the issue like that’s why it’s more likely it’s manah on a three four year de on The Bu maybe a twoe deal with an opt out now you can give um ivaldi another opt out even though if you sign him three or four years give an opt out after the first year or the second year but that’s what you have to worry about right I know people were talking about Sasaki I’m I’m not until we finally hear that he’s not going to the Dodgers I think it’s pointless I think it’s gonna be a West Coast team the Padres or the Dodgers so I’m not even gonna talk about Sasaki I I don’t think the I think the Mets want him they’d be stupid not to want him same thing with the Yankees they’re probably want Sasaki but until we know that he’s not going to go to the West Coast it’s irrelevant to talk about and we’ll find out because he’s going to be posted in a few days yeah and we’ll get that kicking off but um so know about oh sorry go ahead oh I’m sorry oh manah ivaldi is my is my package deal I was just gonna say so for people who don’t know about the Sasaki situation again I dropped a video about it on my channel it’s on my channel it’s out there uh just to let you all know I won’t make you actually go watch the video to find out the Mets given that Sasaki has been it’s been restructured so I think he’s going to count into the 2025 International free agent pool instead of 2024 by the delayed posting um how this works is that the New York Mets have committed money I’m not sure if it’s actually like committed 100% just yet because they can still resend the offer sheet if they wanted to but they have committed money to 17-year-old Ellen PeΓ±a and I know it’s crazy 17 years old they’re signing him for a crazy $5 million signing bonus which takes up just about all of your International free agent pool money which the Mets have just over $6 million to work with there so if Pena’s taking five you know saki’s not probably not gonna sign for just one right you know what I mean isn’t isn’t the what maybe I was wrong maybe I heard on the MLB network but I could be wrong I think the international money that goes to Sasaki is based off of projections for 2026 not 2025 I don’t know how they do that but I think I heard that I think it was Jim Bowen on MLB Network or one of the I think I was listening to MLB Network radio and somebody came on and said I could be completely wrong but I think because it’s um because he can officially sign in January it it’s considered the next year International bonus money because they allocate the money they have an idea what they’re going to allocate what kind of money they’re going to have based on projections I could be wrong but I think that’s what I heard I I could be off Bas but I I want to make sure um you might be 100% right but I think it’s still 2025 it’s not 2026 is it because he’s posted before the new year so I’m reading up on baseball America right now while okay uh period on December 15th it would be more importantly allow him to sign the next International signing period which begins January 15 which is exactly when he’ll sign like he can he can negotiate with teams but can’t officially sign on January 15th which means that involves the 20126 or 2020 uh six or 2025 or 2026 International money not the money that’s currently up the teams have right now I I think that’s the case that’s why I think with Pena I don’t think that’s an issue no it still is because it says right here because he will wait until 2025 until the 2025 signing period sasaki’s negotiations will like throw some teams 2025 international plans into turmoil which is the Mets basically well okay well let’s talk about that then what would you do right Sasaki can help you now and over the next what he’ll have four to five years of control or a 17year old that even if he’s he is the best International free agent on the mark you know on the international field he might come up in two years and that’s if he if juo related so 100% I would take Sasaki I think anybody would but again if you are already banking on him if you think that his plan is to go to the West Coast and that’s like there’s no questions asked why would you risk that you know what I mean it it doesn’t seem well again but but um you can resend that order on P at any moment and Sasaki you’re gonna have an idea very quickly if he’s not interested in the east coast so I think the Mets are in a good spot in a situation where they’re not going to lose out on the number one international free agent they’re going to possibly lose out on Sasaki but I I think they’re gonna know quicker so they don’t have to resend it and then worry about that I think if they if they have a chance if they have a real chance with saki I don’t think they’ll they’ll budge I think they’ll say all right this guy can help us now and over the next five years and there’s no guarantee penya is going to be here in the next two to three years maybe even four no sure yeah 100% 100% if if if you get that feeling again I’m not really in tune to like the actual dates and how this process works in terms of the renegotiations if you resend the offer from paa and you know team swooping in to negotiate with him at that point I have no idea how that works but if there’s any risk factor I’m not sure the Mets will do it but if there’s a way where you know if they do learn you’re right if they do learn that szaki is actually interested in coming to New York you know again yeah I agree with your argument 100% I mean you’re talking about a 22 going on 23y old Phenom right proven versus a 17-year-old that has just a high very high ceiling in terms of the projectability I I agree with you yeah so I’m I’m curious to think I mean I would think the Mets would choose saki over over a 17y old that has no chance of making a team for at least two more years you know he has to be like on the Harper Machado sto level of just guys that come up so quickly I mean that’s that’s wishful thinking but I I would I would say Sasaki if it’s it’s a if it’s a little bit of a possibility I I would go I think you would have to go that rout I mean you’d be crazy not to but you know as of right now we’re looking at the field of tier B starting pitching free agents and that’s where that’s unfortunately where the Met’s gonna go and again that doesn’t mean they can’t be successful during a season right I keep on repeating this whole uh like opinion about the whole situation I just don’t feel like going into a season with a question marks at the top of your rotation I don’t think it’s a successful plan right you you have to hope that somebody steps up you just have to right evaldi you know can be a very good pitcher right but fine that that can be great but is he gonna be that next level pitcher that you’re going to need now I think he could do it in the playoffs and that’s what I concern myself with because I expect the Mets to make the playoffs if they don’t make playoffs it’s the disaster to be quite honest with you so yeah this is what I think the Mets need to do I think they really need to be careful signing these guys because you know ivaldi has a lot of inin on his arm right we nobody wants to talk about that but that’s a fact right it and I don’t think he’s gonna get a two-year deal he might get a three or four year deal same thing with Mani I don’t think Mani is I’m gonna fall off but you got you gotta wor about that and and again here’s the issue that I have if you’re going willing to give three or four years to a manah ivaldi pavetta manah you know all these guys flarity what’s another three four years to a Corbin Burns or a Max freed right because you’re really expecting these guys to be great for half of that contract anyway which is basically at the same time you’re giv the tier B pitch that’s what I don’t understand right you don’t expect long-term deals for pitchers to work out in year six seven and eight what you want is year one through five to be the best of the best adap adapt pitcher so you have a possibility of winning the World Series right I think Yankee fans can talk about I brought up CCE sabati a couple hot soaps ago it’s a perfect example this is the guy I don’t know I think it was a five or six year deal his first three years was outstanding they got World Series you think they really cared about the last couple of years when he struggled no absolutely not and and I I think that’s where we’re falling into this this this category of hopefulness and when you have look it’s not even about Steve Cohen the Met’s payroll is low right now it it is$ 140 $150 million under the third luxury tax there’s no reason why they can’t do Big Top Line starter they can get two if they really wanted to but let’s just say one and then you can mess around with those other guys it it just makes so much sense like I think I think they’re trying to be too cute with this whole experimenting on starting pitching and I’m not saying those tib guys are experimenting but Montas and Holmes are experiments if you’re going to throw homes in the in the stting rotation or at least try to right it’s too much experimenting here are we trying to win or are we still evaluating because if if you are evaluating don’t even bother with Soo then what are you wasting in time for right don’t sign Alonzo put Clifford at first Gilbert in right and let’s have an evaluation year I I I think we’re playing we’re getting too cute here and I think it’s I think it’s frustrating a lot of meth fans and why it’s like not only is this Soto Saga continuing that’s frustrating the entire baseball World especially the teams the fans the the fans of the teams involved but it’s frustrating because there is so many question marks specifically with the Mets and Yankees and why Yankee fans and Met fans are going back and forth here because there’s a lot of unknowns with both teams there’s too many holes to worry about where it can actually end up being a not a good offseason for if not one both of these teams that that’s the scenario it’s it could lead to and again if there’s question marks for this team for the New York Mets on opening day it’s a failed off season regard right I don’t know what’s gonna happen during the season but it’s a failed off season so okay so okay let let’s backtrack here uh let’s just talk about Corbin Burns because again you’re talking about Orioles Red Sox um the Giants could even be in on uh Corbin burns from what I heard what do you think his actual market is when you take a look at aav in years right I mean he’s what 31 years old so you’re talking about they’re talking about $35 million aav but I’m going I’m inclined to believe that it’s going to be north of that okay so let’s just call it maybe 38 right let’s just be I even think that’s a little bit conservative in terms of the prediction but let’s call 38 times 7 that’s 266 or 6 38 time 6 228 so again but but but is that is that bad for a guy who gives you the amount of innings that goes You goes basically six plus on the regular gives you 180 plus Innings you know what I’m saying like like that’s what I don’t understand like are we are we hoping that manah can throw another 180 Innings or you know evaldi don’t get hurt because he has injury concerns you know there’s a lot you know I I don’t know I agree with you Rob I would I would give Burns that contract either one those values I would give him I again and you you’re GNA have the side of the fan base and people who evaluate pitching and the K rates going down so he’s not going to be an ace there’s nothing about Corbin Burns’s career so far that has not indicated to us that he’s not going to be an ace right especially last season where I know the K rate went down to like what 8.8 n yeah a full point okay so but his ra went down about a half a run and his walk went down as well so are people concerned that he’s so are people concerned that he’s pitching to actual contact now is that a concern what’s wrong with that because that means it’ser exactly nothing wrong with that it’s not about um Innings anymore it seems like it seems like it’s about pitch count per game if you if he if he realizes well if I throw 110 pitches you know they might take me out of a game but if I can throw you know in the fifth inning if I’m striking 10 guys out but if I can you know pitch a little bit more of the contact and I know I’m going to get these guys on ground balls most of the time with my heavy Sinker why not pitch a little bit more to contact like that could be a strategy that he he did he dealt with and again this is why like when you w when you see a when people bring up analytics when it comes to pitchers and they don’t talk about erra they don’t talk about Innings they give me you know strikeouts per nine they give me walks for n to give me all these other analytical stats that let’s be honest are they really me meaningful ER is what’s important Innings is what important for these four pitchers right a guy a guy that can strike out 11 per nine can have a four er right Sha manah probably has a similar strikeout rate to Corbin Burns but are you gonna consider manah better than Corbin Burns no probably not even close so his wh rate by the way went up so so it’s talking about okay exactly like there’s a narrative for anything to prove a point right when it comes to anybody but I’m sorry guys if you’re looking at anything else besides erra and inin for a pitcher you’re just looking for something to to not like I like I will say Rob I I will say I do look at I I do look at strikeout percentage and I do look at walk percentage I think walk percentage is a better indicator because I don’t want guys that are going to continue to walk the ballpark I think as Mets fans watching the 2024 season we know that but a guy using strikeout percentage as an indicator for a guy like Corbin Burns just simply isn’t a valid reason for me didn’t manah walked the ballpark as well why do we want him manah I don’t think he walked the ballpark I think he was right around League average if I’m not mistaken let me let me look at this like I’m not 100% sure but I don’t know I mean every every Mets pitcher walked everybody it seemed like so you know League average is 8.4% he was at 8.5 so he was right around League average Burns Burns Burns’s walk rate went down a lot which is awesome I like to see that so so there you go so his strikeouts went down but his ER went down half a run and his walk rate went down so he pitched more of the contact and I think if you’re pitching more to strikeouts that means you’re trying to make perfect pitches which is going to lead to more walks um yes more pitches per in it so or more pitches per game or in it exactly so it’s like if we wanna if we want to quantify this his Corbin Burns’s walk rate went down a full 2.3% that’s a lot it’s a lot so so again he pits better last year than he did the last couple of Seasons well yeah yeah and even the generic stats show that as well 100% so so so they we go like like like I don’t again this is this is a situation where I understand the logic in Sterns not giving a starting pitcher 7 eight years because it usually don’t work out but again you’re not looking at year six seven8 here you’re just not that’s what I I think Sterns now I’m not saying Sterns doesn’t realize that maybe he does maybe he doesn’t but this whole new philosophy of not giving long-term deals to pitchers that are top level is ridiculous because again even if you sign Juan stto there is a core of this team that is hitting 30 or a little bit above 30 so you’re looking at a four to fiveyear window with those players that you gave contracts to already on your team and that you possibly might sign so and I’m not saying that you know it’s the end or Bill you’re not worrying about your six seven and eight because you know Ventus will be a few years older he’ll be in his prime and Alvarez and hopefully gilber and Clifford and all the Mauricio aun all that stuff but you gave contracts to guys that are that were 28 29 30 years old and they’re in that area where they’re directly in their Prime where you probably got three or four years of really good prime years for them that’s when you go for it and in those four to five years is what you’re really looking at for any starting pitcher regardless of if you give him a long-term deal or get bu or evaldi on a two threeyear deal you’re still looking at that and and again I just don’t understand the logic in that except that if they’re so concerned about injuries then why sign any pitcher at all like you might as well just stole your whole top pitching prospects out there and hope for the best like I I just I just don’t feel I don’t I just think the logic is too analytical the an itics tell you long-term deals don’t work but we know that but it didn’t stop the Yankees to get cold it didn’t stop the the Rangers to get in Old broken down pitchers to win a World Series it didn’t stop them right I know they didn’t pay a lot of the money but still right even Justin Verlander went back to the Astros like like it’s it’s crazy to me like starting pitching is still important right specifically in the playoffs I think you can get by on a on a on um above average rotation I mean I.E the Mets last year and get into 90 wins and make the playoffs but that’s supposed to be a necessity now playoffs should be uh a necessity it should be obvious this is what we need to do we got to make the playoffs but the thought process needs to be what do you do in the playoffs right because again I truly believe this I don’t care if you got evaldi you got man ber whatever you might have if you don’t have Burns or freed crochet or Castillo or another Topline starter that you might trade for you’re going to end up looking for one at the trade deadline and other teams will be looking for that too and now instead of just giving money now you got to give up assets for probably a guy who’s going to be a free agent so you’re gonna have to spend money on him when to bring them back so now you got to do assets and money why not just spend the money and you get to keep the assets and I’m not a and there’s a reason why these other teams like the Yankees and the Phillies are also interested in guys like crochet Etc right like they understand the value of these guys and what it means to have those types of guys in the rotation so I’m on board with you man I think we’ll say that until we’re blue in the face but again you got to look at who the president of baseball operations is until he shows me that he is willing to do that and again it’s a very small sample size I mean we’re going off of like what a couple weeks truly of this free AG agency and then we’re going off of last free agency when the Mets had nothing to work with and we knew that so you know I I again I do not think I’m not gonna just sit here and act like David Sterns is naive to everything that we’re saying David Sterns realizes that they need to have a solidified arm alongside kod iena and have if they want to sell us on projects in Montas and Clay Holmes there needs to be protection up top in the rotation for us to be like okay you know maybe we can get by with that four five and six in the rotation right I I think David cerns realizes this we’re not telling I don’t think we’re saying anything groundbre breaking but again right you look at these astronomical figures for these free agents I just think it’s more likely to be the trade route I really do and we talked about Luis Castillo we talked about crochet and then after that you’re looking at one I still think probably even maybe two of these guys but if you get one of those guys in a trade I think Walker bu is the most perfect fit for this rotation you know what I mean CH let me ask you something right average pitchers which you know the tier B pitchers are they might be slightly above average and average pitchers they’re getting 17 million 21 million 22 million right manah who let’s be honest guys I don’t think he’s an ace maybe a number two at best probably a number three he’s probably going to get somewhere north of 24 to 25 million Walker buer might get 2425 million ivaldi might be north of 2627 million right for average to above average pitchers another $10 million you get a guy that is a no doubt instead of question marks like is that really that much money we’re talking about $750 million for for Juan sto but we’re not willing to give Burns $266 million over seven years like oh man it’s it’s it’s annoying and again if Sterns is gonna go bargain shot him in the rotation then don’t bother with Juan Soo because you you’re gonna need to score six runs per ball game like that’s literally what you have to do because I’m more confident that nobody’s going to step up to be an Ace and that just leads to a trade deadline disaster because when have the Mets actually went for it at the deadline if they don’t go for it during the offseason why would they go for it before the deadline they never do it and that’s a fact that’s been history right everybody wants to talk about history the Mets have not gone for it at the trade deadline they have not gone all in at the trade deadline and say we did everything we can every need we got we had we we got they never done that I went on a ramp two two nights in a row about that what teams can you really have though at the trade deadline specifically say that again what teams have really addressed every single one of their need at the trade deadline well I’m not going to say everyone but the biggest needs let’s put it that way right right we can go on for the last couple of year the couple of World Series teams right what did the Dodgers need starting pitching what did they get starting pitching right they needed the bench piece Tommy ID was a bench piece he ended up being a World Series MVP you know so there there’s so much that you know you know the the Rangers right I know it didn’t necessarily work out pitching wise but they went out and got pitching they needed pitching and they got it right it actually got them to the playoffs they didn’t do much the offense took them over but guess what it was their big signings that offensively took over the series the Braves they got Solair they got Duval right they needed the Outfield The Outfield was depleted they got those bats because it was a necessity and it helped them win a World Series like the Mets don’t do that the Mets get go go back you know what I’m saying like that that that’s the problem right when they did get cesp that was the that was so shocking because they finally went for it but they went for it with a team that was on a magical run with a bunch of below average roster in 2015 and we all know it nobody’s going to admit it because we love that team because they got to a World Series but they also lost in five games to a superior team when their Stars showed up right CPUs who you traded for didn’t do anything in that World Series so you know there there’s so much you can look at and I think that if you look for the trade deadline to fix a need that was available in the off season right I can understand you needing bu and help at the off in the trade deadline that usually comes up for most teams and maybe a bat maybe but if the me get Juan sto and pet Alonzo right the bats I mean if you need a bat that means you have massive injuries but why why go that route when you can get starting pitch in and bats while they’re available and if you want to mess around with the bullpen for the most part I think the bullpen is leading up to be a good start when you got B nun Holmes and Diaz that’s a good four guys in your Bullpen and you haven’t even really done much with the bullpen yet that’s a good start so why not solidify something that you need why count on the bin so much every freaking night it it usually ends up being a disaster so you know maybe I’m crazy and I know starting pitching isn’t what it used to be 15 years ago but a Topline starter is still needed right that’s why the Dodgers get Blake snow that’s why they traded for Tyler glass now that’s why the Philly signed Zack Wheeler right that that’s how you win at least make it easier during the season to make the playoffs why we have to it seems like we have to fight crawl and scratch our way to a postseason yeah you know that’s just it’s just me well I think John Rossi agrees with us thank you for the Super Chat John uh they can’t half ass It Go all in or not you are absolutely right John um appreciate you again thank you for the support and being here and the Super Chat we do appreciate it um yeah I’m I’m definitely in agreeance with that um but I will say just to caveat before we maybe talk about some bats here is the trade deadline is also just kind of a crapshoot to just analyze after the season because right someone mentioned something about the Braves and what they did and I’m assuming they’re alluding to the fact that you know Rosario and Solair took off for them to help them win a World Series those guys were considered those guys if you look at their statistics before coming over to the Atlanta Braves they were nothing they were not expected to be any sort of of help at least not to that caliber for the Braves and they took off at an unbelievable clip and honestly like the trade deadline you know you could make the right moves and still it not work out right I think talking about more so the thought process of it all but again the Braves reaped the benefits of those two guys coming over at the trade deadline in 2021 but at the end of the day when those trades happened at that time nobody baded an eye nobody was like oh you know so lair’s gonna win them a World Series nobody no no nobody do you know with Otani bets and Freeman nobody though Tommy emmma would be the star of the show you know what I’m saying but but they the Braves got needs they needed an outfield they got outfielders regardless of what you do to them they got the they they went out and they directly got the needs and they were probably the best bats on the market if I’m not mistaken they wasn’t many out there and they got those two guys and oh by the way that was a Braves team that was a met series away of selling at the deadline because right before the deadline guess who they face the New York Mets and the Mets fell on their face and embarrassed themselves and the the Braves took three out of four and ended up taking off after that and we’re on the verge of selling but then they beat the Mets and they became trade deadline buyers so man I tell you it it’s it’s starting to you know I’m already annoyed I’m already annoyed and we haven’t really signed a big person yet a big player yet and is it is it actually coming now again I’m gonna be ecstatic if juoda becomes a New York Met and we will be better because of it but why stop there why what you you think you know woto is great but if you give up six runs a ball game woto can only do so much just as the Yankees so I don’t know damn I’m upset this is a perfect transition in terms of more bat options and and talking about pitcher at a later time listen we’re going to be talking about you know pitching all offseason long this is going to be a focal point especially whether we have juodo versus not it’s still GNA be a focal point even if we do have him right but if we don’t get wodo it’s gonna even contribute more Fire To The Flame so to speak so um again we’re gon to be talking about pitching a lot um we still owe the people as we’ve been saying for the past couple of weeks a little bit of a hypothetical trade package going over to Seattle for Luis Castillo and the event that they make him available and the Mets are interested that will probably come on our Channel soon again I’ve been so distracted with just the other content and just this one photo watch in general it’s just taken away from my plans on the videos but I’ve been able to do a couple videos here and there on the channel as have you and again just because Juan sto you know signs with whoever doesn’t mean that we’re done um they have more to do we’re regardless of whether he comes here or not so but let’s talk about these bat options because I propos to you you know when we were messaging back and forth probably about an hour before this stream even started I mentioned one bat that I would be intrigued if he becomes available that you know this would be the perfect backup option to Juan sto and for me I know a lot of people might not like it because everyone’s enamored with the sand home run value but this guy can hit you home runs too maybe not 40 plus right but like he will hit you 25 home runs perhaps even 30 yeah dude I like this as the backup plan B but it’s a trade it’s not as easy as the Free as a free agency handing out a contract it’s a trade and again it’s a big if if this you know particular team makes this player available so um you can go ahead and say who the name is I’m sure we’ll start off with that topic because I do have name after that as well uh Kyle Tucker yeah I like Kyle Tucker a lot a lot me too and you know what yeah go ahead no no no go go I talked a lot already go ahead well no I’m just looking at Kyle Tucker I mean he came into the league at 21 in 2018 he’s a three-time All-Star e of the last three seasons he’s only 27 years old I mean he’s coming off of a 289 batting average season 993 Ops 993 Ops with 23 home runs I mean he only played in 78 games I understand that right but each of the the seasons before that 2023 2022 2021 he appeared in 140 games or more in each of those Seasons I like and by the way since 2019 he has posted an Ops of 800 or above in all of those Seasons the lowest Ops he’s posted was his rookie season okay we’re not going to count that and then after that the lowest Ops that he’s posted was a 2022 All-Star campaign at 808 this guy’s a stud man this guy’s a stud and again he is an unrestricted free agent in 20126 I believe so what we were talking about and I I stand corrected on that because I didn’t see his name in there let me just make sure that this is factual information I’m pretty sure he’s a free agent in 2026 let me see Kyle Tucker I I confirm it before we came on but he’s got one year left of his contract and if the Astros don’t want to pay him yeah 28 estimate $16.7 million um believe that’s arbitration unrestricted free agent alongside Vladimir Guerrero so again you’ll have these two bats on the market for 2026 in comparison to what we said last stream for the woa watch this morning dude I mean k i like Kyle Tucker a lot man that’s all I’ll say well somebody in the chat I forgot who it was uh said that you know you’re GNA oh I think it was strike he said where the hell is it the guy would CA three of our Top 10 Prospects wonderful how many more infield prospects do you need you already have too many trade them they’re assets you think you think the Dodgers just signed everybody no they traded for mookie bets right and that worked out very well for the Dodgers right they traded for Tyler glass now they traded for Jack flarity what do you think they gave him popcorn and soda no they gave him prospects this is what you do when you want to go for it when you start to become the East Coast Dodgers or try to be like Cohen said he wants to be you don’t just sign everybody you got to make these trades that are probably a little uncomfortable but I’m sorry guys I’m always going for the established player over prospects you Prospect Huggers are the reason why the Mets are in this situation to begin with this is the problem right oh my God how could we trade Kellick oh my God our number one Prospect I think we won that trade right I’m not saying everything’s gonna work but more often than not the established player that goes to that team works out better than the prospects you trade it’s rare that those prospects all even if one of them turn out who cares you’re traded them to the Astros that clearly are going to start to rebuild very soon if Alex bregman is going elsewhere you you think the Astros are gonna start signing people to get better no Kyle tuer is gone they’re gonna trade him because they know they’re not gonna be able to sign him Kyle Tucker is gonna get $200 million easily think yeah absolutely he’s going to be the top Outfield free agent on the market along with Vlad Guerrero who’s the top first base Target it’s just that simple I’m sorry I’m sick and tired and this is the problem this is the issue that I continue to have right meth fans want everybody but they don’t want to give up anything to do it so what do you want do you want to go for it or do you want to talk about going for it but when it comes down to giving up assets you’re like o I don’t want to do it no more well then you’re never going to win because name me a team that hasn’t traded assets to get a established player to win a World Series isn’t that the goal right I don’t care about a guy that might come up in 2027 if you’re good enough you shouldn’t be waiting for that guy I’m not like Alonzo nmo Vientos Alvarez that’s a hell of a lot of homegrown Talent already right how many more prospects do you want on his team right even the Braves traded for Olen traded for Murphy yeah they they they got a couple of big names and big guys that came up through their farm system but they also made trades they did that you know we we have to understand that and we continue to go through this process of not wanting to give up prospects that has been the Met’s problem you want to go back topst they were on the the final seconds because they didn’t want to give up Michael Fulmer that’s how that’s how annoying the Mets are throughout you want to talk about history it’s been established they don’t like to give up prospects and I understand but at some point guys you’re gonna have to bite the bullet stop it you have to right I’m willing to do it right because I can assure you right now jet Williams Ronnie Mauricio and aunia are probably not going to be one of these guys if not two might be off this team by the time this offseason ends or the trade deadline because they’re not where are they going to play where are they going to play if you do sign Juan soda you have Nimo for the next 47 years in left field you have Juan SoDo over the next 30 Years in right field most likely Gilbert’s gonna be your center fielder if not you’ll have you know a stop Gap type of guy but most likely Gilbert so jet Williams who everybody seems to just can’t get over Ain playing Short Stop last time I checked if you’re going to keep Mauricio oruna or jet Williams pick one it’s gonna play second base so where are they playing where are these other two guys playing nowhere so what are they they’re assets you can’t let them die in the miners and get older and older you trade them now for an established player that can help you now in over the next couple of years that hear me I just want to just can you can you hear me I just want to check oh yeah I’m just talking too much oh no no cuse no no no because my my Wi-Fi is cutting in and out so my connection is kind of so if I if I disappear it’ll be for a second I got to figure that out so I do apologize but no I completely agree with you um and again I know I see like why people are saying Kyle Tucker might not be available but if you’re already talking about because we’ve heard through the grap vines that they’re already talking about potentially trading fber Valdez yes and he’s in the same situation and he’s in the same situation he posted a 2.91 erra he’s got one year left on his contract and he’s a 2026 free agent he’s the it’s the same situation as Kyle Tucker so you’re gonna tell me especially especially if bregman leaves that organization that they’re going to resign both of those guys I don’t think so no I don’t think so so I think it’s yeah yeah I’m sorry I think it’s realistic no I think it’s realistic that he could be available at some point at some point um whether it’s at the deadline or whether it is this off season depending on just the organizational plans and depending on what happens with bregman I will say and cave out this that it is all depend dependent on Alex bregman at least for me as it pertains to this off season but as we transition for to another name that I actually like via trade um and I actually have to see I think he’s with the Rays organization yeah he is with the Rays let me just take a look at his page real quick yandi Diaz I like yandi Diaz a lot as well and he just posted a season where he hit 281 won only 14 home runs the power was a little bit down Ops was a little bit down but again right you take a look at an infielder guess what position he plays first base he also plays he could play some Third Base I do have to take a look at the splits in terms of you know which position he played more of I believe he was more of a first baseman if I’m not mistaken but he has a pretty good bat like he has a decent serviceable bat that I would take all day long and guess what the rays are an organization that in lesser terms and lesser value players right we’ve seen trades David Sterns has come to this Mets organization and has traded with the Tampa Bay Rays quite a lot quite a lot um again probably not the most extravagant types of Trades but a lots of a lot of trade with an organization that everybody right says don’t trade with them they’re going to fleece you you know what I mean and David turn is just like I know what I’m doing so I I like yandi Diaz a lot too Rob I know we mentioned Kyle Tucker that’s a little bit more out there of a take I guess but yand Diaz I think it’s a little bit more realistic and that bat is serviceable and position-wise he is also a fit for the New York Mets yeah I mean I mean again it it depends right what happens with pet Alonzo and again I think Ryan Cliff again we don’t know what Sterns is [ __ ] when he evaluated the prospects we just don’t know right Ryan Clifford has had a good Minor League season he’s setting up to be a first baseman he could be a right fielder but again if you do sign Juan SoDo or Anthony santand there that that position is out of the question and you would think Gilbert is Drew Gilbert is over Ryan Clifford when it comes to center field so you think Ryan Clifford is gonna establish himself as the first baseman in the Mets organization so if you not gonna sign Pete Alonzo and they really like Ryan Clifford well you’re gonna go that stop cat route a gaap out in a Diaz that’s what you would do so you know there’s another guy that we’re going to talk about after that that is also a possibility that can also play first place and Outfield oh but I wouldn’t be against it like I says I think you can do a lot if you get Juan soda I think you can do a lot of things with first base you don’t just necessarily have to get pet Alonzo I mean that would be fine I would be perfectly fine with that but you could do a lot more you could do different things Diaz has a club option attached to his contract um next season by the way so he wouldn’t be a UFA until 2027 that’s fine that means you gotta give up some something for him but at least you got him under control and Sterns likes that clearly exactly he traded for Siri and he has control so I I know Diaz is probably a little bit better than well not really it’s about uh it’s close but you know you can you can see that H as a possibility but again that that might be a little bit more down the road the offseason don’t you think like if the mes on sign Alonzo or an established first baseman yeah yeah thatd probably come a little bit later I wouldn’t expect them to go down that road uh route as an initial um option I agree with you 100% okay all right so as the winter meetings uh kick off and I think seven o’clock is the first official MLB Network show in regard at the winter meeting so I’m definitely going to throw that on as soon as that pops on if we’re still hanging out here but um the bullpen right I know the bullpen we can look at it in so many different ways there’s going to be about 40 people in the chat that are going to say Tanner Scott right not happen all right not happen right the the most expensive guy is probably what you already seen clay Holmes I think that I think at the end of the day Klay homes is gonna end up in the B so that’s probably the highest amount Sterns is going to go um MoneyWise when it comes to bullpit now that might excite people piss people off and have no reaction at all there’s about 60 guys that are free agents in the B pet I don’t think you need to get two or three high price free agents or trade for a high price Bullpen arm to have an established solid very good Bullpen I think that has been very well uh proven by what the Brewers have done with their Bullpen as long as you got a closer you can do a lot with your fifth in and Guy your long man your sixth in and seventh in and eighth in and guy as I said Nunes B Holmes that’s a good start that’s a good bridge to Edwin Diaz so how much do the Mets really do need in the bullpen maybe two possibly three arms you would think right and there’s a pretty good chance that two out of the three arms that they might get are somebody that nobody’s gonna be happy with I think one of them you might see you know a stanic you might see uh the Mets make maybe try to make a move for Presley or you know something like that something something of that nature or you know bring in finnean something like that so Chris I want to give your uh you know pick your mind a little bit about the ballpen plan right I think that you can ask any Mets fan and they’ll have a difference of opinion when it comes to ballpen right there’ll be a Met fan that says get me the top guys on the market done then you’ll have uh a person like me that would say bullpens are fickle a bullpen that was great last year is probably necessarily not going to be as good as this year what do you think when it comes to a bullpen plan what would you do in your own way and what do you think Stern would do yeah I I agree with you in the fact that I think Tanner Scott is highly unrealistic um I know everyone was going to want to jump to him as the primary guy but I’m just projecting out that type of contract I I just don’t see it happening I really don’t see it happening I think that is an ability to get a top guy right um if the Mets are really committing long term of this season right in this next season to Klay Holmes being a starter because again you know just because Klay Holmes has a terrible month of May or month of April excuse me as a starter I mean do you expect them to pull the plug that early on that you know project with Clay Holmes I don’t think it’s going to be I think I think it’s going to be spring training only you think so absolutely okay because they didn’t say they’re guaranteeing him a starting rle they saying gonna give him an opportunity to become a starter the only way you give an opportunity to a starter if he proved himself during spring training like unless the Mets completely don’t do anything of significant in the in the rotation then no they don’t have a choice but yeah I I think Kay Holmes is I think clay Holmes is the possibility of being a six starter in a six-man rotation for the Mets I don’t think it’s much more than that and that’s why I think you know again I think Klay Holmes has to be lights out for the Mets to put him in the rotation and there’s a pretty good chance he won’t be now if he is okay we’re it’s we’re benefiting either way you know that’s why when people like oh my God they they promised him a starting rle no they didn’t they gave him the opportunity to be a starter which means if you suck in spring training you will be the setup man for Diaz that’s it it’s not that hard so I don’t I think spring training is where they’re gonna evaluate they’re gonna watch they’re gonna see what he can do and that’s it if he’s if he’s if he’s average then not putting him in a rotation it doesn’t benefit the Mets for an average pitcher to go into the rotation when you know he’s an established Bullpen arm and if if he does this is why I’m rooting for him to uh go ahead and and find that success and and get a rotation spot and I agree with you I think that six spot in a six-man rotation is definitely up his alley right and the reason why I would like for that to happen is because at that point I think that there is still a window for the New York Mets to go get another quote unquote top arm that’s available right maybe maybe well one top arm for sure and then one borderline arm right the top arm via trade Devon Williams I already made a video about Devon Williams I like Devon Williams a lot and I do think that the Brewers I think they’ve made it very obvious that they are going to trade Devon Williams like that has already been reported it’s already been solidified he’s getting moved um that is a perfect opportunity if clay Holmes is a starter and has earned again that’s the key word earned as you said Rob a in the rotation go get dein Williams that is a nasty back end of the the bullpen with Williams and Diaz that is awesome fantastic um I like the name Kyle finigan a lot I I understand the numbers on Kyle finigan aren’t exactly what Mets fans want to see but I do think he has a lot of Life on his fast ball and I do think that he has proven right in just just in terms of the consistency he’s put up in a Nationals uniform that he is also out there um and could be had for the New York Mets and probably again for another one or twoy year deal because just given the age factor with him another guy as I’ve mentioned so many times because we know we want lefties in this Bullpen we need at least one Lefty in this Bullpen we would like two right two would be a fantastic um combination for Mendoza to utilize in any which way that he wants AJ Mentor please go get AJ Mentor if you’re not going to resign Brooks rley I’d be open to a a Brooks Ry reunion if you’re not gonna get Brooks rley again we know Tanner Scott is not going to be an option or at least so we think right there’s no way he’s gonna come in and be a and not be a closer that’s what he’s gonna do is he want to gets paid he wants to get paid like a closer he’s going to close so take the Mets out of that real of possibility AJ Mentor is a fan fantastic Lefty option again he has an injury concern I believe it was his hip that was bothering him for the majority of the 20124 season but we’ve seen him a lot uh as Mets fans in a Braves uniform I do think he could be effective per I I hate to say just as effective as Tanner Scott um but again he has the stuff to be also a closer and he does have closing experience himself so I like AJ m a lot Devin Williams is the name to look out for Via trade but I do think again if Klay Holmes is unable to crack that rotation come opening day you got to take you would have to imagine the Mets take Devin Williams off of their wish list because there would be basically no room unless you’re trying to build a Powerhouse 789 which again is just highly unlikely and it probably wouldn’t be worth the investment of the Prospect Capital or whatever type of capital you would go ahead and give the Brewers an exchange for Devin Williams so I like listen man I I don’t think people talk about AJ Minter enough I’ve I know I dropped a video on AJ Mentor um it was a while back you got to go back and and dig into the channel to sort of look at that but listen from what I’ve seen from Mentor in his career as a brave against the Mets I mean sign me up for that and you could probably get him on again a two-year deal because he is he finished the 2024 campaign out with a little bit of an injury concern and I’m not quite convinced the Braves are going to bring him back at this point so yeah because let’s not let’s so the Braves and the way that they operate they make those deals early they like to lock up the guys that they want to return early and they have already done that for a couple relievers early on this off season the Braves not resigning Mentor early on to the off season has me questioning what their plan actually is and so I really do think it’s fair game for the Mets to just approach midterm be like we want you as the main Lefty in the bullpen I really do you know that’s a situation where the to make sure you get him give him a two-year deal with a one-year op out right I think you can do that I think that’s a great that’s a great deal for Minter uh you know I don’t know what bull paint arms are going for you usually don’t see that and so you don’t really you know you might see Tanis Scott come off the board and the winter meetings but after the winter meetings when you see Bullpen armock going off the board and maybe lower level Bullpen arms come off the board dur went to meetings yeah I agree with you 100% now I love two lefties in the bullpen but I’d live with one I I want to like I don’t think you have to have two great lefties but give me one that’s really solid and give me another one that’s kind of like a funky Lefty that you know throws junk up there but finds a way to get people out like I I think that different type of Lefty look you know hard throwing to you know soft tossing type of funky two different guys I love that and I I think two lefties are important in the bullpen and I know you know it’s not easy to do because you got to have at least a guy that’s competent that’s the other Lefty but I want the I want another Le I want two lefties and again I don’t think I I think we’re looking at the Bullpen as like I would say more of I kind of think that it’s not as bad as people are projecting right now oh not at all not at all I like the pieces that are start you have you seen the Mets fans the way they’re acting like the bullpen is us like I know the bullpen was kind of a disaster last year but remember when Nunes got hurt and and buo kind of broke down because of the Innings you kind of had nowhere to go you know and that’s why maton you know was pitching every freaking day you know and that’s why stanik was pitched every single day he wasn’t good during the season but better than the playoffs again Nunes is going to be healthy b got the Innings under his belt now those are two guys now with now even if Klay Holmes is in a starting rotation that is still a really good one 123 in your Bullpen with Nunes B and Diaz and that’s not even getting anybody yet and Minter and say stanic I mean that’s pretty damn good and you probably get two more guys or maybe a shy Foley steps up in spring training or maybe a guy one of the pitchers that you got on a minor league deal Steeps up like a Garrett oh I forgot Reed Garrett holy Christ I’m talking like Reed Garrett’s on his team Reed Garett dude come on I know you can’t can’t forget about my guy forget about the main man right throw him in the starting rotation he’s a badass let’s go why not right yeah re Garrett right R Garrett Nunes B Diaz and Clay Holmes like that’s a pretty good Bullpen like seriously that’s a pretty good ballpen I mean as well sign Balo cologne for the rotation let’s go let get it done but yeah I agree with you m Minter is an excellent idea and I looked at the list of relievers and it’ll take me two hours to read all of them because there’s like 60 of so you know that’s something that I have to really like sit down I mean I’m gonna be up all night so you know I’m just gonna go through them and start checking them off and then I’m probably you know on our next hot stove we’ll probably talk about it again since it’s going to be a one ho God Jesus please if w let wot will sign by tomorrow so we can actually talk about everything else that would be nice right that we can really talk about it and actually stuff is happening so all right I agree with you with Mentor bring him in two-year deal op out after one um I’d bring back stanic I think Stan’s a good piece and I think you can probably I mean that’s basically it right you might want to bring a put a long man in there in the bullpen and that’s basically it like I don’t know you know maybe know I’m say that’s basically done how many Bullpen arms like 10 in the bullpen where usually start the season with 10 or 11 oh no no no no no no because you have 13 pitching slots so you’ll have I’m sorry six starters you’ll have seven Bullpen arms yeah yeah I’m sorry I’m I’m counting the extra starters yeah absolutely so so seven Bullpen arms if it’s let’s say Klay Holmes is in the bullpen because I still don’t gonna beutter let’s count this out Diaz Holmes Nunes B Minter stanik that’s six so the last one will probably either be another lefty or a long man um I I don’t know what the Mets plan to do with Danny Young but a guy that we heard a lot about last spring training and we’ll see what happens I think he might be ready or he might not be ready I think he got Tommy John if I’m not mistaken which was unfortunate so I don’t think he’ll be ready probably until mid 2025 but I got to look at the news but Nate lavender who is just striking everybody out in spring training um is a lefty that the Mets could take a chance on as well so um yeah but that’s a little bit more of a reach because of that injury that he had and again I got to take a look at the news because I haven’t heard anything on the Nate lavender front but um yeah so it just depends because like the Mets are going to go with the six-man uh rotation you know it’s kind of difficult to project out because one of the starters again when Klay Holmes could be a reliever as well so you got 13 arm slots on your roster on your 26-man roster five or six be solidified starters and then you’ll either work with uh seven or eight Bullpen guys either one of those just depends on how that last guy is is utilized I like Mike Soka a lot 100% I think the I I talked about Soka on my channel um he had a very good season last season in terms of being a reliever when they moved him there yes he still has a lot of injury concerns he missed I think multiple months last season with an injury um which is pretty on brand for him you know he had back-to-back Achilles injuries in A Brave uniform he kind of reinvented himself as a reliever last year in the White Sox organization I know he went 0 and 10 but again you know the white socks did not put him or any other White Sox pitcher in a position to succeed right and so he’s got electric stuff as well so I would definitely take a chance on Mike Soka um and I think that’s more of a David Sterns type move too right a Soka signing that’s that’s a lot more of a David Sterns Type move Jimmy Garcia Jimmy Garcia also has injury concerns with his arm but again he has electric stuff he has been in the Blue Jays organization and he has performed very well for the Blue Jays he actually was the one that stepped up for the Blue Jays when Jordan Romano was kind of struggling slash injured um if I’m not mistaken I know we had a lot of blue jays fans in the chat earlier but Jimmy Garcia is if he’s healthy and ready to go I can see him being an option um there’s a lot of lowkey Bullpen guys again the list goes up and down when you look at spot track of free agents available for the bullpen and it’s kind of hard to decipher what David Sterns will do but if history repeats itself Again David Sterns loves trading for Bullpen guys too so a trade also is not out of the question even outside of a guy like Devon Williams yeah I mean there’s a lot of different routes to go and again I’m not worried about David S putting a good ball play together he’s done it multiple times and you know it ended up being you know people people kill David CERN for the bullpen but what can you do when half your Bullpen goes down injured right Drew Smith was having a good season really was really damn good right Diaz got suspended what do you what can you do nearly the most important guys in your Bullpen were hurt that’s why B went into the bullpen that’s why Nunes came up and went into the bullpen right and it ended up being those guys became an established Bullpen arms but just imagine if he had Drew Smith and Ry you know in the playoffs it could have been totally different right we forget about all the injuries that they had that were season ending so Sterns I think put a good ballpen together in 2024 but you can’t predict injuries and I’m not worried about I’m not worried one bit about Sterns putting the both in together because he’s been a master and I think um the internet of Chris is a little shaky right now so he’s going to probably try to fix it I I honestly think you’re fine with that guys I I truly believe that the the one thing I’m not worrying about with David Sterns is the bullpen I think he knows how to do it and yes the winter meetings is on right now uh bwl I can’t play it because of copyright issues uh we would get kicked um so I don’t want to do that but again if any pops up on MLB Network you know here will be the place to be to uh to hear it out right we’re only we’re going to be here for probably about 10 more minutes just to go over the quick woto uh stuff that we’ve heard over the last couple of hours and then we’re gonna have a rapid fire question each of us and then we’re g to call it a night and if any breaking news happens with the Mets even if it’s not wano I’m Gonna Be Live and if Juan sto does sign me and Chris are going to go live as soon as possible even if he doesn’t sign with the new York Met so and break it down so uh Thor we did mention AJ minor I didn’t mention him Chris mentioned him and then we discussed it which is a good idea oh the winter meeting shoot I mean what cable company you have but um it’s on right now the first show of the winter medens is on I think it’s MLB tonight that is on right now so I think Chris uh botched up I think he’s going to try to text me to see what happened but um uh I just want to see if he’s all right because I know his internet was shy before we came on give me one second guys let me just text him real quick all right uh let’s see let me just uh click up some comments here so we can talk about the comments Kelly easy Kelly Johnson is not a bad idea right again he’s not what he was three four years ago but he can be a solid number six reliever you know a guy in in this six in enroll something like that there he goes all right cool I told you my my connection was gonna go out at some point it finally did so I apologize that it’s an hour and 20 minutes all right so people we were just talking about um the same thing we were just talking about before you went off I was looking at comments really quick um easy brought up uh Kenley Janson not a bad idea right I mean I don’t think he can be an eighth ninth inning guy but he could definitely be a six inning guy for sure Carlos was like I was ordering another hoodie and a hat from the metop don’t worry More’s coming I promise uh but yeah what do you think about Kenley Janson Chris um yeah I mean I like Jansen I mean don’t get me wrong I like Jansen um I don’t know I don’t really I don’t think I have an opinion on Kenley Jansen he’s just not a name that I’ve ever connected with the New York Mets so I’ve never really even he talked about being a met last year I think somebody he actually like they talked more on where the hell was it I don’t remember who wrote it up I think it might have been on MLB Network or some show he was on and they talked about it where would you like to go he talked about the New York Mets for whatever reason I don’t know why but he did so I mean maybe that’s I mean we know he is though he’s Mr he’s also Mr consistent so like it’s you know definitely he’s been one of the most consistent um you know Bullpen guys in the league to be honest with you and he strikes hitters out at a very high clip too he’s got pretty nasty stuff um I think that there are a little bit of walk issues with him too so the control could be a little bit erratic but again yeah I personally just never have made that connection uh with Jansen to the Mets but it wouldn’t shock me if you know he did talk about that last off season now he’s getting into like a little bit of a te te of like being a journeyman which is nothing wrong with that uh given the age Factor but yeah again I’m not sure how realistic that is although again if clay Holmes does work out right in the rotation if you’re looking for a guy that can close or not close can set up Diaz at a pretty high clip I mean i’ I’d be willing to take a chance on on Kenley Jansen because you know it’s going to be a one-year deal that’s pretty much all he signs right at this point so yeah yeah he’s Mr reliable so I would be fine with that um if if that’s the case again again I’m not worried about Sterns the one thing I’m not worried about is Sterns and bup I’m just not like you know we can I can be concerned about offense and signing bigname free agents uh but other than that I’m I’m not worried about Sterns when it comes to the bend all right we’re gonna talk about it guys I promise uh Juan sto right it is seven little after seven Juan soda was still not signed um he might go to the Marlins as the mystery team you never know uh because who the hell knows at this point again we believe that the Mets and Yankees are the favorites apparently the Red Sox is still involved the Blue Jays are still involved I I I’m not sure what else to say except you know stay up because you know would would would I be shocked is I I truly believe that they weren’t going to announce anything even if the deal was what um the team knew and Soo know who he’s going to they’re not going to announce it on football Sunday right you got Sunday Night Football I don’t even know who’s playing to be quite honest with you uh but yeah hymon is about to speak on MLB Network right now um if you guys are listening please uh just let us know let us know what he’s saying because obviously we can’t put the volume up because then you won’t hear us I mean that might might not be a bad thing for most people but you know we’re on right now so um what the hell was I saying Dam I forgot see I’m all messed up now I saw John Heyman and I got excited talking about Soto not signing on football Sunday yes I don’t yeah there you go see thank you um yeah I I don’t think he’s gonna I don’t Major League Baseball is already inferior in most of the leagues uh that are going on right now and you’re not going to do it on a football Sunday it doesn’t make sense really doesn’t and you just not gonna win you just not you’re not gonna win that battle so again tomorrow is the first official day of the winter meetings that’s probably when he’s gonna sign because it’s the first you know they’re in Texas so what is it five five o’clock right now there so hour behind so it’s 607 over there that’s right six yeah so they’re an hour behind so I think it’s going to happen tomorrow it makes sense you know you do anything be between now and or 9:00 am tomorrow till 5:00 P pm tomorrow you know on Monday that’s a whole day before Monday Night Football I I think that’s a perfect time to do it first day of winter meetings kick it off with a bang it’s gonna get everybody excited and now we get to talk about everybody else that it’s a perfect setup it’s a perfect setup here here’s what I’m going to say I think wano made his decision already I think the reason why it’s not out there yet is because of the fact that college football there was Championship uh you know Conference Championship Games you know the play the whole playoff selection and all that and then it was Sunday which is God’s day football right football and God right that’s what they we say so you had backtack big football weekend for college and the NFL they’re not messing with that tomorrow is the perfect day to do it and I think that’s when he’s when it’s going to be official I think he knows where he’s going I think the team knows I think they’re EXT because hasn’t it been weird since we’ve had the jua watch party earlier today it’s been extremely quiet oh extremely quiet yesterday even yesterday there was some stuff coming out you know even if it was you know guys that were not really trusting there was stuff coming out and even Heyman out with a with a Post article today nothing except for the early morning thing where he talked about everything being equal and all that stuff other than that it’s been extremely quiet so what does that tell you I truly believe it’s it’s in the final stages where he knows the team the team knows it’s them and they’re not gonna say anything including Boris until tomorrow and I truly believe that so I mean I could be completely off Bas here but I think he’s made his decision already what else is there to decide you were a Yankee do you like it they got they went over 700 million it should be enough or do you want the most money and go to the Mets still New York so I don’t know I mean what is your do Chris when do you think he when do you think if it’s tomorrow when do you think it is timing oh I was gonna say January 1 but uh if it’s tomorrow um I don’t know like like like is it gonna be in the morning time I don’t think that they’re gonna drop the bombshell at like 8 am I hope not midday miday is per everybody’s going on lunch you know everybody’s you know scrambling around checking their phones like idiots like we are and that’s what they’re gonna do it and you know is it gonna be in an oldani situation where he posted it on Instagram with the Dodger uniform you know because the players love posting stuff on social media now so would that be the case probably you know Wan sto you know will be walking in the shadows and then it pop the lights pop on with whatever hat he has on in Jersey that would be pretty cool see maybe I should just do the content there right maybe I should do that right Co Juan stto Co Boris hey I got you just it’s got to be the Met because I’m not doing the Y uniform sorry but uh little like release video for Juan sto on his uh that would be awesome no matter who who it is like I think that would be awesome yeah and and again PB said time zone matters yeah obviously but it’s only it’s in Texas you know it’s not in Nova Scotia you know so yeah I mean yeah they’re going to want to do it for like the best East Coast time 100% it’s it’s an hour behind though so like yeah I I agree with that um H man I really wish this was ending today I really really wish this was ending today G so yeah again it’s gone really quiet almost too quiet everybody has pointed that out already think the last solidified news that we got was um was it hyon Heyman I think it was hyon although Mike Rodriguez tweeted something out saying Bing Bong which is obviously the Nick thing and so I tweeted Juan SLE with I Emoji great more which one’s more uh believable you know I mean come on like you know I do I do think though that we could I still think we could get the news tonight I still think we can get the news tonight before midnight I would like to get some sleep tonight that would be nice L well yeah I think they’re gonna do it like you know at night time at 2 am where there’s a lot of people asleep already for the work week starting off would you be shocked it’s Major League Baseball they do [ __ ] completely backwards well kareah was like 2 am wasn’t it I was asleep when the Korea thing went down I was at work I was at work and I was listening to uh WFAN and I’m like wait did he just say to met Scott kareah I’m like how did that happen and and then my friend came around the corner we were like yeah we’re high-fiving each other and [ __ ] sorry that was history that ended Heyman said he thinks the Yankees are ahead of the Mets what is what does the middle mean Ethan what does that mean yeah the equal part it’s not equal again again we can all do matth here 730 minus 710 is $20 million difference that’s not equal again the Pinstripe is not just what it was like that that has not I’m sorry it still doesn’t have nothing to do with it because you know people were talking about oh don’t you want to be uh part of the the the retired numbers in Monument Park he’s always going to be in the shadows of Aaron judge you know who woto won’t be in the shadow of anybody on the New York Mets even Francisco Lindor he would be the guy so you know I’m not saying that he hates Aaron judge I think they could be fine together but let’s not act like wano gives a damn about being in Monument Park and retiring his number when he’s 47 years old I mean come on like these these are kids now that are younger than me by 10 years that don’t care about that stuff they care about the media they care about the money they care about how they can establish themselves as a brand that’s what they do right each individual player is a brand they believe especially the younger generation in in baseball in sports they believe they are the brand that makes the team what they are they don’t believe the team is what makes them they don’t think like that anymore you know there’s guys like Aaron judge that understands the Yankee you know aurura and understands that like you can tell the way he talks right pet Alonzo talks about the Mets other players talk about the Dodgers and other teams like that and teams but most younger players now care about them Juan sto believes that he’ll make anybody better he don’t he don’t believe that Juan solo is just gonna you think Juan solo thinks that he can go to any team and say oh my God if I don’t play for the Yankees and B in front of Aaron judge I’m not going to be great he’s not thinking like that and that doesn’t mean he’s not picking a Yanke but I truly believe that they think like this nowadays look look at the way Sports is right there’s no loyalty anymore in I I all this all this to say I I will say just from my perspective of things I I agree the reasoning behind stto going back to the Yankees and this whole Pinstripes [ __ ] is just what I just said it is is just [ __ ] but at the end of the day you know I also am going to acknowledge the fact that I can see Juan stto going back to the Yankees I can see that situation happening because he’s already been there not not because of the Yankee history just because he was a Yankee if if he was a free agent and he wasn’t on the Yankees say he was still a padre and he was a free agent now would the Yankees even be one of the highest bids I don’t think they would be I think because they had him they that’s why they have a real shot no other reason has nothing to do with their history I mean I could maybe I’m completely wrong but I don’t think it’s that I think because he played with them he sees it and he was there and he understands what it is now and what it’s about that’s it so that’s this is what hymon said Yankees feel like they are the most confident Mets are in the middle Boston is not confident at all that tells me nothing if you guys are worried about what haymon’s saying right now in terms of the influence of that on what could transpire I would not I’m not worrying about what heon’s saying I don’t again to me Haymon was over the years haymon’s lost a lot of credibility in my in my personal mind right um yeah he still does break some stuff you know first right and he’s still a well respected journalist and reporter again but it’s quotes like that that just pissed me off about John hayon is just that Yankees feel like they’re the most confident like that tells us nothing that tells us nothing no because what are they confident about being lesser offer and being the Yankees that’s it like that that like it’s it’s a it’s a baseless what what was that on X uh no this is him speaking uh on MLB tonight or whatever okay so you don’t see Jeff pass doing this though you don’t see Jeff passon doing this correct look if that was true passing would have brought something up about that about either whoever the favorite was I just I just think it continues to be they don’t have nothing so they need to say something to to fill up airtime because they’re on all these shows heon’s on like five different shows a day what is he gonna say he has to fill the air and this goes for other reporters as well every single time every single time I hear Heyman it’s is like going on in five minutes we’re talking stto and then an hour later it’s the same thing I’m like what could you possibly have more to say right you know what my fans watch with Alonzo now that he’s a borish client and the nonsense that’s gonna come out of hymon and I guarantee you it’s gonna involve the New York Yankees you know why because Haymon is one of those mount pieces for the Yankees as well a lot of New York reporters specifically when they they focus on the the New York teams they are usually kissing the Yankees ass they usually do that so watch out for the pet Lonzo situation when it comes to hayon because it’s a Scott Boris client and I think Chris froze again and we’ll see if he comes back and we’ll finish up once he comes back but yeah guys I I just see it as a situation where the reporters don’t really know and again if everybody just wants to believe passing which is obviously the way to go why haven’t pass tweeted something like this when it comes to the Yankees are the favorites the Mets are in the middle Red Sox feel like they’re out of it passon could easily say that if that was accurate but because it’s probably not that accurate you got John Haymon who is a Boris Mount piece and others that might not be legitimate or might be somewhat legitimate continue to to talk all these rumors and talk news that might not be true or not again could hymon be right absolutely but he’s saying something that we probably know that yeah of course it’s probably leaning towards the Yankees a little bit because Juan sto was a Yankee we understand that that’s not news but again if that has been the case the whole time why didn’t he sign every time the Yankees were closer to the highest bit over the last week because maybe he doesn’t necessarily want to be a Yankee or he wants the Yankees to get up to the highest offer but when is that ever gonna happen when they’re gonna keep on going back to Steve Cohen so either he wants to be a yane because there ain’t a specific number you would have thought 700 would have been the number it’s clearly not it’s clearly going above that I think he’s trying to milk the most money out of anybody that would give it to him it’s starting to lean that way to me I mean we’ll see what the final number is man we’ll see what the final number is and we’ll see what the final number the Mets offered because again there’s no way the Yankees sign him without the Mets having a higher offer so the differential is going to tell me a lot if that’s the way it plays out again huge if yeah and and if he does take less money to go back to the Yankees obviously the reason was that he was probably a Yankee before this year that was it I I don’t think there’s much yeah and it’s not like they giving him a100 million less if if the Mets offer him $100 million 50 even $50 million more and he goes back to the Yankees for $50 million less that that kind of tells you that he was probably gonna be a Yankee the whole time and they he wanted to get to a number but you know it’s close enough where it should be easy an easy choice to go back to the Yankees I would think but I just feel like Boris is probably like listen you’re going to you’re G to go to the highest bidder let’s see how much we can milk out of these guys and that could easily be the case and we’ll have to see so it’s the Juan sto probably day three tomorrow because we can’t get that lucky that It Ends Tonight but if it does we will be going live breaking news either a met Yankee or other we will be here with the breaking news um talking about Juan sto but it’s rapid fire time the most favorite outcome of the show that people seem to like I get comments about it a lot and emails about it which is interesting that people like the rapid fire and I think we’re GNA start doing Chris um if you don’t mind me just bringing it up real quick having people uh we have out I don’t know if you have your email your channel email but I have my channel email on my channel page uh we can act have somebody um or many people email us a rapid fire question and we answer it um I think that would be cool and you know we’ll pick one or we’ll each pick one and then we’ll ask it to each other and then or we’ll just answer both of them together but I think we can start doing that and Chris and me we were talking about possibly doing like a a show like WF where you can get callers to call into the show that’s kind of hard to do because we want to make it um a way where you don’t get like 50,000 trolls and ask you people that want to ask questions we’re trying to figure that out Rob especially in your chat you need to those Yankees fans in your chat are gonna be trolling you for sure do that it’s I think that’s like people who want to come up and speak their mind right not only having you know relying on us to read their chats which we do we try the be the best of our abilities to do it’d be cool but again trolls have to ruin everything at that point so we got to find an efficient way to uh make that happen but yes um I think I have my email already on my channel if I don’t I’ll put it up right after the stream and you know what yeah I like that idea a lot you guys email Both of Us Rapid Fire questions we’ll choose one and then we’ll keep rotating it in and out correct and and you know we’ll do a um I’ll post my email my my channel email on my Community page and you know people can start sending questions questions and and Chris if you want to do the same we can do that and then the next time we do a hot stove and do rapid fire We’ll be asking your questions instead of us say an hour questions because you might have different questions and if you don’t get it answered because again the chat is insane for the last couple of days it’s hard to read every comment guys I’m I’m not gonna lie to you it’s it’s rolling 100 times a minute and every time I look away there’s like 50 comments that pass pass by so um I think that’s a good idea we’re gonna look into the caller you know have a show where people can call subscribers can call uh but we got to find a good way of doing it um going forward and we we’ll figure it out but we’re gonna get to that point so rapid fire question Chris do you have a rapid fire question you you asked me yours first okay so I had two I don’t know which one to ask but I’m gonna ask this one we talked about Nathan evaldi what do you think a contract for him would be because when he brought it up I’m like nice but what where are we willing to go to get Nathan evaldi what do you think the contract would would be overall in your opinion obviously spok track has their idea but yeah um I did take a look at what spot tr’s um evaluation was for him I think it’s a little bit on the lower end I think they under said sell their algorithms can’t predict the supply and demand Factor so that’s why they’re always consistently lower than what they actually are and what the contracts actually going to be I can see a world where he gets 25 million plus probably like a similar sha manah aav type deal um maybe more right maybe more I would say if my math is correct I would say two years 50 I going to say two years 54 to be honest with you two years 54 that’s $27 million per year and that’s a short-term deal to be honest with you two years 36 million is not happening two years 36 million is not happening no he’s getting more than that way too low that’s way too low I mean they’re projecting evaldi to get $22 million per year from spot Trak again they always under sell these free agents I would expect him especially with the markets like right now to for him to be in that 50 to 54 million doll range right that’s what I think and it could be a three-year contract with an opat after the second year there there’s a lot of different ways to work it but I think you’re looking at 25 to$ 27 million a year for evaldi that’s thing yeah yeah yeah obviously I mean you say Kikuchi Luis saino got 22 million evaldi is better he’s gonna get probably four to five if not a little more five four to five million doar more than Lis sever if not six or seven like he might approach 27 to 28 million you know each year for uh per year and I think I think you can do a two-year deal worth that much and do an opt out so he can go back on the market again if he has a really good season so yeah that’s a good one um yeah actually again I redo that I think evaldi is perfectly fine I think why not right he’s he’s a proven pitcher he’s done in multiple um multiple teams he’s very established in the postseason which I love a lot of World Series experience uh bring them in bring them in all right Chris what do you got um I was gonna ask you the same kind of question we’re it’s actually funny that we were thinking on the same wavelength because again a guy that is a free agent and pending free agent for the New York Mets and we’re talking about these inflated contracts for these pitchers all across free agency what do you think Sean A’s contract is going to look like probably similar if not a little less I I I think aav I think years wise I think there’s a possibility somebody gives them four years and that’s where I think the Mets might fall out to be quite honest with you you know maybe they’ll bite the bullet I mean it depends on who falls off the board right if they’re looking at buer or evaldi and they jump off the board and maniah is there and they might have to you know cough up that fourth fourth year I don’t think they go four years with manah uh maybe they will maybe I don’t think so I so I’m gonna say three years 27 million per so do the math what is that three years I don’t hold on I gotta do the math here I’m just driving me nuts so let’s what the hell did I say 27 for 880 something right three for 85 maybe I said 27 right that’s 27 per 27 times three so that’s three years 81 million I I I think that’s okay so if again if you do four years that’s $108 million that’s a possibility I’m I’m tell you there’s gonna be a team out there that is desperate enough that might lose out on the bigger name free agents you know there’s some people that might believe again there’s some people that believe that Manaya has fixed himself and could be that number definitely number two and possibly a top a top of the rotation guy $108 million is a bargain for a number two so 27 for three years is my opinion but I feel like somebody’s going to give him a four I’m not confident the Mets would give four years I don’t mind I don’t they care about the aav I think years is problem but it’s kind of interesting to project that aav because if you do give him the protection on the fourth year I think that you don’t have to go up to $27 million per and you can do um as who said this in the chat four for a 100 even um Herve uh said in the chat four for 100 even that’s 25 million per I I I think that’s definitely feasible as well I also think just like yaldi right 25 to $27 million is GNA be the unate reality for um both of these pitchers and it’s crazy because we were talking about sha Mania at one point entering free agency um way back when right and way back when I mean like last month potentially making 20 22 Max and now we’re talking about 25 to 27 for sha Mania so we’ll see it obviously is heavily dependent on the three or four years my second rapid fire for you though is how much money how much money is the gap going to have to be between the Yankees and the Mets for him to take that discount and not take the highest offer with the Mets because people are like if the Mets are only $15 to $20 million more he’s going to the Yankees if the Mets are only $30 million more he’s going to the Yankees how because again I’m not sure if you even agree with this so if you don’t you can definitely push back on this in terms of if the Mets are only $10 million more that’s more money everyone’s saying he’s going to go to the highest bidder no matter what well if you believe that then okay but if you don’t if you think that he would actually take a discount with the Yankees what is that Gap what would that Gap have to look like for the Yankees to to win him over well clearly the Yankees are never going to be the highest bidder and the Gap you would think the Gap has been between1 to20 million this whole time regardless of where the total overall contract was right when it was around the $600 million Mark when the offers were first gathered right it was probably always $20 million so what has stopped Juan sto from not signing with the Yankees for a $2 million gap right it might have been a $5 million gap $10 million gap maybe it’s now 20 million maybe it increased right maybe it maybe a week ago when you know a week and a half ago when Soto first talked had meetings with everybody and they gave like you know offers on the table and it was ranged between $550 and $600 million maybe the Yankees were only $10 million away from the Mets or another team I don’t know I I I don’t even have a number but I do I haven’t I I’m gonna say what it is right now he still hasn’t signed so I don’t think it’s $20 million I I think the fact of the matter is he’s taking the most money I I don’t think there’s a number anymore I don’t I don’t think so because at any moment he could have signed on the dotted line with the New York Yankees at any moment they got close to the highest bid he has not done that over the last week why even if you want more money and you know the Yankees are never going to be the highest bidder at some point you’re going to sign somewhere like I I I just don’t know I think the $20 million Mark is more than enough for him to sign with the Mets maybe the Mets can still say you know what screw this we’re going $50 million more and then is probably a no doubt now we don’t we’re not in the room to discuss with Juan sto right that might be the ultimate Factor but we don’t know that maybe he doesn’t care where he goes as long as you’re the highest bidder and if you can continue to still milk money out of the highest bidder why not still do it which they might be doing like I think there I think specifically Yankee fans and maybe some me fans that are kind of coping I truly believe that Juan sto has no loyalty to the Yankees I think they’re overes ating the loyalty to their team because there was no loyalty with the Nationals and no loyalty to the Padre’s and right after you lost the World Series Juan sto could not wait to answer that question about everybody has a chance to get me in free agency that’s a fact I didn’t say that he did so in this aspect I don’t think there’s no loyalty I think the Gap is whatever it needs to be and if Soto look put it this way it’s already $20 million so if Soto went to Cohen and says I need to have $20 million more than the Yankee’s offer wouldn’t he continue to do that so I I just I just think that it’s an argument to be have either way but it I think it’s Garen that he hasn’t signed with the Yankees knowing that they kept on Upp in the offer but still never was the best offer but was close to the best offer and still hasn’t signed I think that’s more telling than he hasn’t signed with the Mets yet with the biggest offer now you can make an argument either way but I I think it’s more telling that the Loyalty that Yankee fin think he has to the Yankees is not necessarily that much clearly because if that’s the case he would have signed already I truly believe that so the Gap $20 million I think it’s probably not going to be I don’t think I think that’s probably a good number to get it done for the Mets yep I’m not convinced of that no I think it’s like I I think i’ start it at 40 I think 40 is the number and again there’s might be a reason for why the the early reports again we haven’t heard it as much recently um in the fact that the Mets would be willing to go $50 million beyond what the highest offer is like I think 40 to 50 and it sucks to say that right it sucks because I’m in the in the camp of why do we need to even outbid certain players regardless of their status you know in order to win them over and again like you know familiarity is a factor right there’s a multitude of factors Aaron judge is probably a factor 100% but yeah I think 40 to 50 is a safer bet 20 I’m still kind of weary on man is because again because because again maybe he’s trying maybe his the plan for Boris and SoDo the plan all along is trying to milk the most money out of the Yankees just two weeks ago or week and a half ago maybe if that we heard that the Yankees offer was going to be $550 million when other teams are already at 600 plus right but still I I don’t think the Mets were the main factor in that that’s what that’s that’s why I keep on saying that’s why I’m saying that like I think because the Red Sox and the Blue Jays seem to be the somewhat out of it I think the Yankees are contempt with their offer because we heard the Mets would go to 750 we haven’t heard the Yankees do anything after yesterday the 710 so why haven’t they gone to 730 if the 750 is a possibility for the Mets I think they contemp with their off offer well you said it during a wano watch party that you think the Yankees are contempt with their with their offer so if they that’s what I’m saying I think the the Red Sox and the Blue Jays had a lot for the Yanke had a lot to do with the Yankees continuing to up their offer because it’s an embarrassment to have the Red Sox and the Blue Jays uh number two behind the Mets when the Yankees should be number two and I think they’re contempt at this point I don’t think their full bore will to continue to fight this out with Steve Cohen and be 30 Millions behind $20 million behind because all it’s doing is Raising that a per year and getting closer and closer to the Yankees luxury tax that’s already close if they sign Juan sto so the yanes aren’t they’re not idiots how Stein burner and Cashman knows if this gets up to ridiculous 60 million doll aav and it’s very possible that’s even close to their luxury tax number which means they’re going to do less because they’re not going over that third luxury tax number Bor um H already talked about that so I think the Yankees are contempt because they ended up being the finalist the two one of the finalist out of the two and it wasn’t the Red Sox or the Blue Jays I think that has a lot more to do with it than the New York Mets in my opinion it would be I’m just so curious if there was any question that I could ask relating to this situation if I had you know Boris in the room or whatever right it would not even be what’s wano’s decision that’s too easy it would be is the Yankees offer at $750 million is it because yesterday I said I have my doubts about it and I still do have my doubts about it right about them being all the way up to 750 because we’ve heard range in the range those types of words but we haven’t heard every team that is in they’re all at 750 and so that’s where I get the feeling knowing that the Jays right are probably there maybe the Red Sox aren’t I don’t know about the Red Sox again I was confident in the Red Sox being like key players but it seems like they’re really starting to phase out um but wasn’t it two days ago that there was four teams that had 700 ion dollar offers yeah but 700 is not 750 understand but again I think again that’s why I think that like I I’m gonna I wanna when wano signs I want to know the final numbers from the other teams because if he goes to the Mets and it is only $2 million difference then the Yankees this whole time were trying to save face and making sure they outbid the Red Sox and the Jays and if wo happen to come back boom they it’s a win-win that’s I truly believe that I truly believe that that they outbid their two their East their division Rivals and they get juano back for cheaper than what the Mets would have gave him I I I think that’s exactly what it is but if it’s Cohen just blowing everybody out 40 50 million dollars then all right who cares I don’t care if wo comes because Cohen gave him a no doubt offer I don’t care about that he’s a met regardless but I truly believe that I’d love now we do believe that the Blue Jays and the Red Sox had somewhere around if not just 700 million or say 705 but clearly the Yankees jumped the offer because of those two teams not because of the Mets because I think it’s irrelevant for both sides I think the Mets know they probably have to be higher than the Yankees whatever the number might be but I don’t think the Yankees feel like they have to outbid the Mets and if they lose on on Juan stto it’s going to the National League I don’t think the Yankees worry about the back pages I truly think the Mets fans care about the back pages more than the Yankee fans do I feel like the Yankees I feel like the the Yankees feel and know that they don’t have to outbid the New York Mets that if again this $20 million difference is factual then they will get w sto that’s what I honestly feel like and that’s what I will leave this stream probably thinking into if these are the final offers right this is where the decision is made $20 million difference he chooses the Mets what are the Yankees gonna say post media day when they talk about it well we weren’t comfortable going the extra $20 million they’re going to get destroyed by their fan base you’re willing to not go to 700 million but not another $2 million which is again we did demand another million and a half per year that’s not going to make a break the luxury tax at all so that that’s what I don’t understand like they’re putting themselves up where they’re they’re relying on the Pinstripes and $20 million less and I again I think they’re contempt I don’t think the Yankees are making another offer I think they’re done I thought that but now I don’t know I’m not sure if I’m convinced I don’t know I I mean if they do then you know what again I already think they they have a respectable offer I don’t think they have nothing to to shy away from or be or be uh be blamed for anything I don’t think they have any responsibility to to get any blame here I think they’ve done a really respectable job doing what they needed to do well do you find this curious Rob do you find this curious that yesterday we heard 7:30 and 710 respectively for the Mets and the Yanke Yankees and then we heard later on that presumably the Mets went up to 750 why would the Mets do that they were already at 20 million difference why would they need feel the need to go up to 750 maybe they know the Gap is $40 million themselves is it true well yeah exactly yeah well I I agree with that we can say that about any we heard that we heard that rum once right we heard that somewhat legitimate account once and then we heard nothing of that you know people people keep on saying yeah they believe it’s going to go past that or around 750 but there has not been this whole day has been 7:30 710 nothing of the of the contrary so that makes me believe that there’s the decision already made to be quite honest with you I truly believe that I think this is a whole again I’m going back to the whole it’s NFL Sunday and I don’t think they want to do that now again this is not saying that he’s going to choose the metso the Yankees again I don’t think anybody has a freaking clue but I think there’s a reason why it’s been very quiet today because I think it’s already been determined and why have the numbers come out confirmed now that 7:30 and 710 is the numbers and it happens to be the Mets and the Yankees why has that been confirmed who leaked it was it Boris or was it one of the teams or was it all of them that were ready to do so because this whole time we’ve heard nothing of the no or offers at all nothing we know we heard something about the Yankees being around 550 and other teams at 600 other than that nothing confirmed so why have it why did it come out yesterday that’s 7:30 from the Mets and 710 for the Yankees and you you would think the years are Sim are similar why because they might just actually be what those numbers are you know because like it doesn’t make sense how nothing happened today at all that that makes no sense to me that there has been nothing no up in KNE offers that have been confirmed and you hear the Yankees going after tar Hernandez now the Red Sox going after tar Hernandez in on them you know you know what I’m saying like why have we heard that all of a sudden I don’t know man it’s so weird it’s so weird like there’s so much conflicting reports and that’s why we all need it to end because we’re sick of it yeah whoever they go to whoever he goes to Great somebody’s gonna be excited all all the fan bases are gonna be pissed off but we’re all gonna move on and that that’s even more important we need to move on at this point yeah and you’re right I think just to say the final piece here is that I think that the decision could already be made like you said and now they’re just trying to find the right time to announce it right the the time that’s going to get everybody’s attention so it could be a fact um but I don’t know we’ll we’ll find out shortly whether it’s tonight or whether it’s tomorrow I would also agree maybe midday if it drags out until like tomorrow night I’m gonna be so pissed off but um I start going to work oh my goodness yeah so again you know I I don’t know are we ending it here because I think that this uh I don’t know
