for some rookie ball Prospect so I did not hear that I do have Twitter open a couple things to get uh touch on before we get going here uh still a money Gap in the Bellinger trade talks with the Yankees and cubs for John Haymon it’s a matter of who blinks first if ever still could happen but Yanks also considering Alonzo Walker Santana nailor low and probably others uh the Braves today signed outfielder Brian De La Cruz to a one-year non-guaranteed contract let’s see if there’s any other news going on buds here saying let’s go Mets oh let’s get rid of that so we [Music] can see everybody’s chat there we go Bud saying let’s go Mets what’s up yeah so the big signing for the Mets and really all the MLB off season so far uh Soto signing with the Yan uh Mets yeah with the Yankees yikes probably wouldn’t be doing this video if that was the case uh Jesus saying uh or Jesus forgive me let me know how you say it uh Soto contract will be a disaster like Lindor well lindor’s contracts uh not a disaster and what what’s what’s a disaster about this we have the second richest owner in all of MLB baseball uh 15 years 765 million with with some options and uh some bonuses and stuff like that uh there is a player opt out after 2029 uh full no trade clause a $75 million bonus uh no deferrals which I absolutely love right you see how the Dodgers are doing things pushing all their money down to the Future Mets did not do that here which I absolutely love uh MVP bonuses as well so I I don’t know I mean I yes fif is the the highest contract ever 50 51 plus million dollars a year absolutely but uh I do I do not think it’s uh I do not think it’s a bad contract at all especially when you have the second own richest owner in the sport so uh the Mets still needs some moves but let take a look but let’s take a look at some of the starting pitchers that are available these guys are not ranked in age these guys are ranked by what their aav was last season so let’s take a look I’m definitely not I’m definitely not shining Sherer or Verlander I know there’s there’s Met fans out there that have been talking about uh maybe bringing those guys back absolutely not no thank you uh a guy like Patrick Corbin Charlie Morton Corbin burns the big name that’s still out there uh a lot of people thought it was going to be s Francisco okay he who’s starting to sound like a disgruntled Yankee fan Soo clutch throughout the season and postseason yes sir Fitzy says I’m not doing anything today only thing I’m doing is watching this guy in a Jets hat talk about baseball oh yeah I had to I had a run out this morning and just threw on a hat but let me come back over and look just in case all right so with with everything going on guys let us know who you think I mean a guy like Jack Flare’s available sha manah was on the team last year Jose canana don’t want canana back walker buer I mean what are we going to think I mean berer looked much better in the postseason than he did in the in in the regular season but I mean the Mets need at least one or two more starters this guy acting like it’s his money that he’s shelling out some other positions I think the Mets still need to add a little bit of bullpen I would love to have David Robertson back uh last year he made just under 12 million I’m not paying him that much money but uh that was somebody I’d be interested in bringing back uh I kind of want Luis Castillo and Nick Peta I want nothing to do with pavetta I would trade for Castillo uh it depends on what Seattle’s going to want to give up or uh what they’re going to need oh might need to take Jan P I’m just going by what SP uh spot track had on their uh had on their list I don’t know if he retired I just went by all these all these Graphics are from what spot track had listed yeah F even said it the uh weed Sports uh no you don’t want Peta trust me as a socks fan right so the Mets really don’t need a catcher first base here we go I mean what do we do do we bring back Pete Alonzo turned down an offer earlier in the year what was it five five years $175 million they said no wasn’t that much I had it written down here let me look 7 for 175 7 for 175 I bet you he doesn’t get that on the open market Fitzy says he either strikes out a ton of batters or gives up five runs in two innings Castillo and manah uh should be met targets agreed but let’s go back to starting pitcher uh Darren what do you think anybody else you would want on that list I mean could uh overpay for burns maybe flarity flarity still 29 weed says I think bring back Alonzo five years $200 million you’re not paying Pete Alonzo $40 million a year why would you pay Alonzo $40 million a year he’s not worth it I mean Alonzo made that last year Alonzo made 20 million last year so you’re going to have to pay him that and he turned down seven for 175 which is 27 million per season so if he signs for anything less than that it was a bad job of turning it down uh but some guys still available gold Schmid hey if the Mets plan is to go after Vladimir Guerrero Jr next year sign Paul goldi to a one-ear deal with incentives why not uh Rizzo I don’t want Rizzo on this team Christian Walker I think Walker is going to want a multi-year deal so probably not going to end up with the Mets Carlos Santana maybe at 38 definitely not Gallow definitely not a bru I really don’t think the Mets need a second baseman but Darren says I would like Burns uh but I don’t think Sterns is going 8 to 10 years no exactly I would love Burns too uh but and I’m surprised I I don’t think he’s going to San Francisco like everybody else does if he was going to San Francisco I think he would already signed wait for your guys comments we definitely don’t need a second baseman right now our minor league system’s full of them our roster full of them where do you think Burns will end up I’m gonna say Toronto I’m gonna say Toronto is gon to make the biggest offer for burnt but I don’t I don’t know or maybe Toronto did make I don’t know what these offers are maybe Toronto did make the big offer uh but he wants San Francisco to up their offer maybe I don’t know right now we don’t need a short stop either now third base is a position we can look at because if you sign a third baseman uh you can move man just lost my train of thought there yeah so let’s come back to third basement how about a DH we’re losing um JD Martinez I I said something to Fitzy the other day I G I gave out two players uh numbers yeah Vientos thank you Fitzy yeah Vientos had it and lost it right before I started I was going to say bregman then I was going to say Vientos and I lost it uh but but yeah you guide bregman now 30 years old I’m not going to give him a five-year deal yep thank you Darren as well is Boston a place for burns I don’t know I don’t know it doesn’t seem like they’d like to give out big free agent contracts they give they’ll trade for players uh but it doesn’t seem like they like to give out those big those big contracts but but I mean Fitzy could talk uh talk about that a little bit more uh but Fitzy I don’t I don’t know so could go bregman at third definitely going to need a DH uh JD Martinez no longer on the team they’re talking about Mets are talking about trading Marte uh so I don’t know what what they would do there but I would love bring in a guy like jock Peterson that’s your Lefty you can give some guys a day of rest as well if you need to and then outfielders a guy after sto got signed I thought it would sign quick with santand there I’m surprised he’s still available I’m not signed anywhere else tasar Hernandez I think is going to go back to the Dodgers uh but we’ll see you there but keep an eye on send there because there’s a chance that a team might take a flyer on him and try to move him to first base but another guy that’s 30 a lot of PE a lot of teams that are going to need a first baseman are going to wait I think I don’t think they’re going to give anybody a big contract unless it’s Al unless it’s Alonzo uh because um Vladimir Guerrero Jr is a free agent next year so and he already down turned down what 320 300 $40 million from the Blue Jays so what about Bader well Bader’s a free agent uh you I guess you could resign Bader but we already have two outfielders right now uh Taylor and Siri two center fielders so I don’t think I don’t think they’ll bring Bader back let’s look at we can go team by team here as well well let’s look at the Mets Met fans who would you want to bring back off of this list here Alonzo I was Alonzo was my favorite player on the Mets don’t get me wrong I was crushing him all year long because I had because of the Season he had uh and I said you know what after he hit that three-run bomb in Milwaukee I should give him whatever he wants sign them I’m not bringing canana back I’m not bringing Martinez back I’m not bringing Bader back Brooks R I might bring books back definitely not bringing otabo back uh stanic Drew Smith Jesse Winker I’d bring Winker back I I think Winker wants to go back to Cincinnati but uh I don’t know for sure and Jose glacius is a guy I would bring back is a could play second can play short could play Third could be another bat Off the Bench so we’d saying he’d bring back Alonzo man Brooks really Winker and a glaus bring back Festa where where’ Festa end up Minnesota or is that the other Festa it might be Texas I’m not sure if I’m bringing St stanic back he ended up in Texas thank you Fitzy so when you guys look at free agents do you guys look at War that’s winds above uh winds above replacement so if I’m doing that I would definitely be looking at some of the relief pictures and see how they’re doing here guy like David Robertson once again years old and Brad Keller Keller’s less than 30 but they had no information on a contract form so wonder what the Red Sox actually need it looks like pitching that’s it uh a right fielder now you lost your right fielder and a first baseman maybe oh Paxton said he was going to retire he suffered an Achilles injury last year gotcha but how about some of these other pctures Peta you said no because you don’t know if you’re going to get a bunch of strikeouts or a bunch of runs I guess you could really say that about any pitcher but are you doing what I did not look at U where’s the free agents the One S contract let’s look at some of the other free agents that have signed uh Max freed gets a big deal with the Yankees $218 million over eight years oh I forgot Willie adames Bruce says one good thing about stto is we got him and the other contenders did not right and I’d love seeing the Yankee fans meltdown man the guy was with you for one one season told you when you traded for him that he was going to test free agency and everybody knew all season long all the experts p and all those guys all said Soto’s going to the highest bidder then it’s all fun in games and jokes when it’s the Mets Fitzy says Jensen ain’t coming back don’t resign Peta Garcia shouldn’t come back uh Red Sox uh would give Sims a one-year deal Martin should come back Darren says Red Sox Angels Mets and I forgot the other three teams that Aeron a said he would go to fzy also says he doesn’t want the socks to resign Hill for the 20th time and Keller shouldn’t come back Stephen yo Stephen K what’s up to be okay with that I don’t know I I don’t know or no because you’re not gonna you’re not going to get rid of Vientos unless you DH him because if you go out and sign a guy like gold Schmidt or Christian Walker to play first for a year what do you do with vento but you could V you could DH vento and you still have him as an option if you’re not unable to get uh Guerrero Vladimir Guerrero Jr the following off season I’m happy though they didn’t trade uh mayor or Anthony for crochet that would have made me uh trade a lot worse yeah yeah Rob scared me away I go on CPS Channel now yep we take the division outright this year those are those other monkeys are seconding pidd Darren says Orioles might be in competition for Castillo maybe even manah against the Mets yes and the only reason I’m not worried about Alonzo is because Alonzo and Boris have said the Mets have uh not you know they can go out get their best offer and they’ll go back to the Mets and if the Mets will either say yay or nay so all right let’s look let’s look at some of the farm systems why you guys are still chatting it up here uh right now they have this is from mlb.com this was after the 2024 season so I don’t know if they if it’s updated for some of the trades that have happened uh they have Tampa Bay first uh top 100 Pro Prospects Junior cero Carson Williams Xavier Isaac Braden Taylor uh two the forfeited because they spent too much money they they weren’t able to get a top pick the Rockies are 12th there we are there’s our Mets number 13 Sprout any Met fans uh would you be willing to trade Sprout I I probably would have traded sprout in the crochet deal if the Mets would have gotten crochet I would not trade him I would not trade spro in uh Castillo deal uh but jet Williams Drew Gilbert Ryan Clifford just his age and her yeah well he’s not going to be our right fielder anymore so we don’t have to worry about that he’ll be our DH so let me keep this up here and see if I can bring up this other website that I use for prospects as well let me bring the Mets up o That’s the Brewers don’t want the Brewers now here’s a question John you want Winker back yes I want Winker back back as a a left-hander Off the Bench who could fill in could give nmo a day well you’re not really going to put him in for nmo because they’re both left-handed uh you could DH SoDo a day and put Winker out and right you could DH him so all right let me let me switch this up and put this one up here as well I got to readjust that to to put that on there but uh so they have I go to a website called Prospect 361c uh it’s a guy who’s a former Scout and he he ranks uh where he sees all these players is Stuart still on our team I hope not no he is not I hope Stephen says they might call up Clifford as a a stop Gap because he played first base have to see he’s got pop and that’s what Stern said in his last in the one of the last press conference I watched uh he goes we got get some guys that are going to be MLB ready to come up and we’re going to you know see what they can do so Alonzo might not come back but jet Williams here this guy says uh jet Williams highest level so far as Triple A ETA is either this year this upcoming season or 2026 a top 40 outfielder with upside he’s a toolsy player walking as much as he Strikes Out unfortunately he missed most of the 224 season with a wrist injury it did not help he had surgery did not return oh he did return late in the year and struggled that I did not know uh but Sprout spro our best pitching Prospect you think it’s too early to bring Gilbert up I think well I don’t know hey you bring you bring him up for uh spring training right you let him play in some minor in uh in some uh training camp games and you you you test it from there it sounded like Sterns when I was watching the press conference he’s going to want to give these guys uh shot contributing to the ball Club so maybe see that’s what I don’t want to do if I’m going to bring these guys up they can’t sit is the problem these young kids need to play every day so if it’s better for them to be in the miners they need to be in the minors Sprout I think Sprout will be brought up after the allar break unless they trade them Darren says I would like defensive Improvement at third make Vientos DH and put Pete at first or get Peterson for DH and and split at first or get Peterson for DH and split time with Marte against lefties or bring back Winker love it Darren love it agreeing Dan saying yo yo yo what up actually it’s December and we’re almost at Christmas it’s ho ho ho but let’s see let’s talk about sprout here or what what uh Rich here from Prospect 361 says the Mets drafted sprout in the second round in 2023 uh anticipated debut in 2024 blue through high a and double a pitching to a 205 ra let’s go welcome in in August the Mets promoted him to triaa but he struggled he pitched to a 753 ER in seven starts with a strikeout rate nearly cut in half what happened he’s a power Sinker oh what happened he’s asking uh he’s a power Sinker pitcher and usually Sinker Le pitchers have more muted strikeout rates plus sometimes the stuff doesn’t work and in a small sample size it could lead it can lead to a 7.53 er I don’t think the Mets want to make Vientos to DH I agree I kind of agree with Dan here I don’t think they want to do that either Sony says we have Mauricio coming off injury too I love Mauricio I do too uh but it was concerning I don’t know if you guys watch all the Sterns pressers uh he’s not he’s not doing any baseball activity yet so unless that has changed uh I’m still worried about Mauricio in reviewing stat cast data the Arsenal looks solid his fastball averages 96 tops at 99 uh but he has more characteristics of a two seamer than a four seamer his best secondary pitch is a change up and then he throws that for strikes it could be swing and Miss pitch for him his curve ball has improved the most but in Triple A was not missing bats all right here we go here here we go oh uh Gilbert next and then we we’ll get Macio there Stony uh Drew Gilbert Outfield uh triaa I do have an autographed rookie card of his here somewhere I think I put it I think I packed it up when I when I moved all the stuff behind me uh Gilbert missed a big chunk of the Season recovering from a hamstring injury finally got back on the field in mid July and and never got it going in 56 games in Triple A he slashed 215 but he hit eight home runs you believes there’s more in the tank than what he showed but I still more of a high floor player than a star he controls the strike zone well despite average Chase and inzone contact rates maybe a 1515 type player Steven says I think mcno hits might be traded uh this year if he doesn’t get his act together make no hits oh man all right Stony let’s look at your boy maricio here uh did not play last year unfortunately going into the year it looked like he was going to be the Met everyday third baseman um and then he got hurt uh fantasy in top 15 second baseman or top 10 third baseman whoa yeah blue out is ACL y there’s plenty of fantasy goodness I’m not worried about fantasy stats 18.5% strikeout rate in Triple A was his best while he could post a 2020 season it could come with pressure on his batting average oh now Akuna played in the majors I don’t know why he’s control for what four three or four years but uh lazardo I would take you got him under control for two seasons please don’t say batty I don’t think I don’t like batty at all so sort of looked a
