all right thanks for being with us today folks we’ve got quarterback Davis Warren here along with defensive back Mari pagee questions for these guys we’re ready to get started we can go on the front left here with Chris go ahead Mari first off pick what you see on that play uh we using man coverage uh too high and um I saw number two go do a out route I was outside leverage already though once he saw I was had my leverage he um tried to go back inside quarterback threw it and just jumped it yeah it’s a blessing man to be able to go out four and0 against them guys so yeah definitely definitely um feeling feeling great about that midle Des no it’s I mean hard to really put in words how much it means to to this group um you know we talk about it you know 365 days year and talked about it since I’ve been here Coach Harbaugh started that coach Morris kept it going and this game means everything us and you know things haven’t gone exactly how we wanted them to No Doubt uh over the course of the year but man just so proud of this group you know o line C his defense Mari man they really stepped up and played an incredible football game and and uh man just you know don’t have enough words to describe how proud I am of all them wi you go noteven you think this changes your perception of the Season signicantly yeah I mean you know our goal go every year is to you know you know beat our Rivals beat Michigan State and beat Ohio State and you know we accomplished that goal um so that’s really important to us and um you know to come in here and get a win in this sort of environment against good football team was was uh man was a great feeling I mean I had a youth coach tell me once Whenever there was a fight on the field just walked the other way so uh did that against Michigan State when they started getting chippy and and looks like you know Ohio did the same thing and so I I didn’t see any of it the game me the game mean a lot to both teams so motions higher after the game you know so that’s really what it is they came running players came running over after you guys or somebody tried to plant the flag I think anything to do it maybe maybe Tony a lot of the last three years some people were picking you guys some weren’t this year not a lot of people how much does that add to I mean you know we we we’re not listening to what other people are picking or who they think’s going to win you know or what they thought we were going to do or not do at the end of the day you just got to win the football game and when you get in a game like this you know it doesn’t really matter what any else is saying and you know may maybe they were listening to it too much cuz I know we were prepared more than ready to go out there and and you know you know play play our best football stay focused on what we had to do to win the football game and man we did that then if you guys could speak to just just the margins that you had to have to win this one winning the turnover battle the kicks going know to be uh yeah we know we have to get the ball off the offense off of their offense um that’s something we tried to do this week we planned on that and um the goal for the for the DBS the by itself was a plus two so you got that done and um you won the game so standing to the right here Davis Don out second you speak the performance that a couple I mean really unbelievable super human from CL especially on that third down uh being able to shake a guy off and really just want it more uh that’s what it came down to and and he wanted it and you know to break that one off and and the o line did a great job as well so um and and Coach Campbell and um coach Nome did a great job putting a run plan in place that you know was was effective I mean what rush for 170 something yards and you know we knew it was going to be downhill physical game um and we were prepared for that and just so proud of that whole group um oine kle Donna when he was in there Jordan Marshall got some got some play too and and then uh you know the tight ends BR and Marlin and those guys those those those guys are Tempo Setters for this offense disrup his flow you think um hard to say really but um yeah I mean taking the hit I mean he was down for a minute so definitely probably routed him a little bit and then plus with the D line getting to him and like hitting them knocking him down definitely probably was a little bit hurried up in the um pocket so maybe next for both players you’ve beaten them four times in a row and the word always seems to come back to toughness is do you feel there is I mean I think you know we we talk about it you know we we talk about what type of team we want to be what type of team we want to be known as and you know Coach Moore talks about it that smash mentality and that’s discipline and tough and doing your job not doing too much not trying to do any sorry anything outside of of what you know how to do and just um operating to the best of your ability and you know I’m just really proud of this whole group I think they did that today they showed toughness um you know all everyone that was out there showed toughness and and that’s what these games came down to and showed in the final score defense and also in running uh I think I think as the defense as a team honestly we are tougher than him I feel like yeah that’s how I feel yeah back right was there certain of moment you felt that confidence abity as I mean I thought on that offensive Drive in the first half when we were going into the wind um um and we drove right down the field and like we started our own you know within our own 10 yard line and went down there and um you know put ourselves in a good spot and I think you know just just with that that gave us a lot of confidence picked up some third Downs on that drive and and really got things moving and um I think that was you know I can’t speak for the defense but I think that was big for the offense um to get get some get some stuff [Music] rolling I think um before the game it kind of like gave us that like we knew like they really didn’t want to they not did they probably didn’t want to but they probably like they tried to look tough they tried to like stare at us tear us down but we knew in our head like they really didn’t want to come out here and play us of what happened after the game today um what what do you think about the concept of losing gracefully I mean you know I think you you we talked about it all week being disciplined and letting our play on the field do the talking you know through the echo of the whistle um I think you know we had that one you know on Sports like off setting one which you know those are those are going to happen in games like this but I think as a unit as a team we did a great job of that um you know what happened at the end I I can’t speak for that but um you know we’re we’re going to win in your house and we’re going to play the flag like should have you know you should done something about it you know um I mean I could speak for like just beating them right now like beating them was enough for us to you know be be satisfied and happy not really to focus on their postseason um goals and whatever but just beating them today was our main goal we got time for two more back left Zack for both you guys you’ve been asked to bounce back as a team and stay together a lot of loses Downs this season how much did that prepare you for this game where there were a lot of emotional ups and downs and kind of adverse moments I think it was huge um you know Coach Moore has a has a term called phto which is uh f it and drive on um and that’s you know speaks to this this group you know we we always talk about it whatever happens it’s it’s that next moment mentality each each play each day each game is an independent event and has no bearing on the last play or the next play and coach trest does a great job of that in the weight room always throwing us off guard and different things and um I think that just you know that helped us when we when we got in this game and in a game like this where there’s a lot of emotions and up and downs and and just pH all right last question for these guys the middle from Noah yeah DAV just so much that second the off but the def consistently it mean to have that support they help oh I mean k and you know that whole group you know they they won us this football game no doubt um the way that they played against that offense um they did an incredible job um you know all credit goes to them and Coach wink and you know even you know the interception at the goal line just can’t happen you know that’s that’s inexcusable um by by me and and and they bailed me out so um I’m just really proud of those guys and um you know and they did they did so much to to win this football game for us and um you know I had trust in them and and they made it happen and then we had to go down and and score points to you know to to win the game we were able to do it so just you know true team effort but man those guys really stepped up uh in in key moments and uh just so proud of that group and you know I owe him all something for that team effort he did a great job all right thanks everyone out we get started with Coach have question congratulations at the end was there any to be had on either side I mean it was emotions on both sides um I know our guys I didn’t see they had the flag and guys were waving around and their guys charged us so uh I was motion on both sides it can’t happen um so you know rivalry games get heated especially this one it’s the it’s the biggest one uh in the country so we got we got to handle that better look like Max got in the face with pepper do you know who that from was that uh those were the officers that were around so they were just trying to control every the security was trying to control everything so they got both sides of of guys trying to make sure that we took care of them so but we got to do a better job handling that as a group address it in the locker room we’ll address it again um you know so but that’s both sides what does that say about the Rivalry it’s a heated rivalry um it’s one that you know we all talk about it they talk about it we talk about it it’s in my office I walk in and first thing I see is Ohio State you know what are we doing to beat Ohio State today so it’s something you think about 365 and uh you know we’re excited we won the game you know we’re excited we won the game and proud of our guys Chris usually l in thees can you just talk about how your defensive line play and then also your off I mean I think our defense defense played outstanding you know he held a high-powered offense again another week to 10 points uh 77 rushing yards you know this game has been one I think the last 20 years in the rushing battle we had 172 and they had 77 so that’s usually uh the story of the game so our guys played great especially the D line they played o line played great when they needed to and they got some real good push and we kind of hammered them and it was win was a factor going uh towards the locker room and away from the locker room so you couldn’t throw as much and be effective in the throw game so you definitely had a good have a good run plan so I thought our guys did a good job and justs run what you see on that just I mean it’s like the USC run all over again you got people tackle him in the back field and he’s hard to bring down um he runs angry runs physical so proud of him uh career high 32 carries 116 yards so I mean just all you can ask for comp how do you guys that yeah I mean you talk about playing with discipline and out emotion and there’s there’s a couple times and it happens in these Rob games especially this one every year there’s always some chip you know some talk some uh you know extra things going on and you got to control that so it’s all about the emotions in the game you can talk about it you can you can do that in practice but it’s completely different when you get in the arena with the opponent so you just got to completely uh you know we got to do a better job of doing that and so do I how important what you think of the concept losing school yeah I’m I’m not you know we didn’t lose so we won so I’m not gonna worry about losing now oneir obviously you know you got the women’s acting first michig does that me it means everything uh but it really is all about the players like I said in the post game the Mason Grahams the Kenneth grants the Josiah the Dereck the TJ guys the miles hon Josh pre crippin Gio Evan link those guys up front we talked about it all week it’s going to start up front and the trenches win the game and it’s not really about scheme it’s not really about you know techniques it’s really about the will and the will to want to put your man in the back field or put him across the line of scrimmage and that’s what we preached all week and that’s what those guys did the game was won by a field goal State the game talk about your trust in he’s the man he’s the he’s he’s an absolute animal um just great kicker great dude he’s been a great addition to the team I hope I can keep him for year he might go to the NFL so we’ll try to keep him uh but he’s really good I mean but we just have complete trust in him every it never never phases him you know in practice we put him in the worst situations and he just drills it he just looks at you like yeah that’s what I’m supposed to do so uh the guy’s amazing he’s awesome great teammate great kid Tony congratulations we know we know that you guys this week we talked about how you always believe despite what happened this year I wonder was there a moment today where you could feel that Ohio State kind of we not just to run over them the fans sh they had a lot momently we just I mean we just kind of went about our process of what we thought and uh you know we got it up in the fourth quarter and uh I told everybody to listen you know listen to the sounds and there was nothing you know so we knew at 1010 we had them and uh that’s that was the goal you know we wanted to just keep on the ropes keep fighting and our guys did that you know but it wasn’t really about what anybody else thought we didn’t talk about belief we just talked about trust trusting each other trust in yourself trust in what you can do and go win the game and then the before moment guys how did you play the next play Pho you know they’ve got really good players too so we Al talk about phto forget it and drive on you know big plays plays are going to happen they’re good team so that’s what we did uh I mean this week is always pretty intense it’s the every week’s int but I think there’s just a level of focus a level of detail a l of of concentration that everybody knows what’s at stake for this week and those signs of what are you doing to beat Ohio State today uh get even bigger in your mind thought process so the process of what we did wasn’t the same it wasn’t different it was the same as we usually are I don’t know I can’t tell you what they think I just know that our guys knew what we could do and uh wasn’t really worried about what they thought well for us like I said before we don’t really care what other people think it’s about what our players in the building think and what everybody around us think and uh you know we’re just happy we we we beat Ohio state that that was most important thing today and that’s what we’re riding with yeah I don’t think we ever say just do not lose we just talk about how to win and what we what we need to do to win never put the losing factor in your mind and our guys never never had the losing thought in their mind they walked in the meeting room on Monday and they were as excited as anything it was just like we were 11 to0 and because they knew the importance of the week and what it took and you know we worked 365 for this game and that’s how we’re going to continue to approach it we’re never going to stop thinking about this game regardless who we’re playing that’s no disrespect to the other opponent but this game is the most important game of the year and it always will be you touched upon it probably didn’t pay attention to what people were saying but say three touchdown and you guys had no chance theoretically no chance theoretically that’s what people said it’s cool yeah so did you take note of that what did you see in your team that you knew that they I didn’t even know what you know people talk about that I I have zero clue about any of that locked in an office and in Shen Hall uh most of the time I told you know Ward told me I can’t sleep there anymore so I don’t sleep there uh but no I was completely focused on our team and our coach Coes that’s it you know that’s the only thing thought process I had I wasn’t thinking about anything else so just worry about winning the game and that’s you know we’re just going to go about it like that yeah yeah he’s an absolute animal um you I wish I could convince him to stay for another year but we probably all know that’s not going to happen U but he’s I talk about an incredible kid uh incredible player a force and gives you everything he has on every single play he’s in the game and he’s going to be an outstanding Pro he’s just he’s unbelievable I love him um and I couldn’t be more proud of him John about didn’t know that asserted itself in this series uh I mean I think just our mindset of how we attack it you know we we it started really in 21 with Coach hard ball and putting it all over the building it’s a constant thought process and how we practice what we do when we practice of thinking about this game how we build our team what we do and it’ll continue to be that way ‘re we’re going to continue to build this this team the foundation of who we are this culture around winning this game and that’s what it’s got to be about Austin Davis yeah I mean he he’s talking about the pick and uh I told him don’t don’t do that again don’t talk about that again uh he played so good I mean you talk about how much he moved our team down the field on third down he was Elite you he was really really good um and the one pick was low but uh we got to be in the right spot spacing wise so it’s not all on Davis you know people you know probably try to criticize him and I’m not going to read anything but I can tell you this this dude played his hard out for this team and give everything he could for this team to be the quarterback and go win here but nobody probably gave him a chance you know nobody gave him a chance in life and uh he’s where he is now is is success in itself seemed like all prove toughness thison how much did you emphasize beinging this team that’s who we are so we don’t really need to talk about it you know we’re built that’s how we’re built we don’t talk about toughness we don’t talk about that you know we uh how we’re built in the weight room what we do on the field physicality how we practice that’s just who we you know who Michigan is so we don’t really need to talk about it yeah mess yeah next man up you know uh told you Hogan Hansen got the first third down catch and he’s a true freshman just nothing bugs him nothing worries him and then obviously when you got kle and then ready for Jordan Marshall to go in there so we we felt like we had enough guys to go compete and go win and we did I mean I think just overall uh you look their stats their lowest output total yards all year with uh 252 you know we talked about as a team we had to win the time possession we did we possessed It 33 minutes they did 26 uh defense outstanding job want to see what the third Downs were third Downs were six 16 and uh just out I mean it started off with stopping the run you know they had a hard time running the football it’s hard to move kg and Mason and rayan and Trey Pierce and all those guys we see every day in practice so it started with that and then you know zeroing in on their on their Playmakers and doing things to to slow them down because you’re not going to completely stop them but I thought we did a great job of slowing them down yeah uh we’re just going to enjoy this moment enjoy the day enjoy this game we understand the ramifications of this game and how much it means to this program the alumni the university and uh we know we just want one in the Horseshoe again last question Chris after like you had did you kind of feel it in that game kind of starting to come together for this team yeah felt it throughout the game felt it in practice I mean I just I felt the really in the buyin week that you know bredeson dubbed at the buyin week uh I just felt like the the shift the guys they they always practiced hard they always practiced physical the detail just was really really good and I thought our coaches did a good job preparing them so uh but more importantly our guys just played their tails off it’s all the credits to them uh how they prepared mentally physically emotionally you know we had Thanksgiving we had to go earlier we had to do different things to maneuver it and those guys just did everything they could to to make sure we won this game and proud of them down huh Rod was here yeah Rod was here Rod uh Rod is a little wild on the sideline sometimes but we love him all right thanks everyone appreciate itah oh yeah so high all right thanks for sticking with us
