[Music] greetings everyone welcome from haat toop historic Ohio stadium home of the world famous Ohio State Buck guys who are apparently world famous for now losing four times not one not two not three four times to the Michigan Wolverines and uh Ryan Van Bergen uh my co-host here with myself Anthony broom A lot happened in this game today a and I I laid it out I think when we did our show last week I laid it out on a couple of our podcasts this week this would not be the most this was not going to be the best win or the most satisfying win if it happened but I had a chance to be the funniest and I’ll be damned if Michigan fans are not cackling once again after win over the Ohio State Buckey uh it was ugly it was you know Michigan won this game with 234 yards of total offense 62 of only 62 of which were through the air your quarterback throws two picks one of them on the goal line khle mullings did heroic khle mullings things a couple weeks ago we’re all baffled why he’s not getting the ball in a big game in a big moment 32 carries 116 yards and a touchdown and uh sealed this game on the last Drive Dominic Zada who was absolutely robbed from being a l Gro award finalist kicks the game-winning field goal and uh defense just tremendous outstanding there there are no amount of superlatives adjectives you can use to describe what a performance that was from wink marale and the Michigan defense uh the elephant in the room is some of the stuff that happened after the game I I’m not crazy about things escalating like that on either side of the Rivalry win or lose but I know this if you’re going to get the play planted on you at Midfield you better be ready to do something about that before the clock hits zero and that’s all I’m going to say about that you got players getting pepper sprayed out here just some ugly stuff after the game um nothing uglier than Ryan Day hanging his head now one and four against Michigan uh and it looks like they will not go to Indianapolis next week they cannot make the reservations at St Elmos and Michigan’s not going either make no mistake about it go to the Music City Bowl or the Pinstripe Bowl or wherever the hell but man oh man somehow out of left field as out of the clouds as a 50 Burger was last week Ryan to win this game the way that they did I I could have never uh had a chance felt like they had a chance to win but to go down like that um it’s crazy man your thoughts here a few minutes after it went final definitely want to focus on the 60 Minutes of football that we did see played and the most exciting 60 Minutes more specifically the most exciting 30 minutes the second half in which only three points have ever been scored I don’t know if I’ve ever been more on the edge of my seat watching and a second half unfold where only three points were going to be exchanged in that second half of football and so much credit and praise is deserved uh from the guys that wore the all whites today and they definitely knew coming into this game they’ve heard how big of Underdog they were they’ve heard the buz saww that is Ohio State they’ve heard Gus Johnson repeatedly the famous Ohio State Buckey and there’s got to be a little chip and I think you saw it come out today you know on the field that this is still the Michigan Wolverines that have dominated the Ohio State bucke guys and not just beat them in football games by having a higher score at the end of the game but physically dominating them winning the line of scrimmage better tackling more physical in their tackling um maintaining possession of the football grinding It Out On The Run game and I have to just tip my cap to Chiron Moore to uh wink marale and even a slight tip I’m sure we’ll get into things that we can improve but a slight tip to Kirk Campbell because in order for Michigan to pull this off one thing had to happen Ohio state had to play some of their not best football which thank God they were able to for put for four quarters not put their best foot forward and then Michigan had to play the most complimentary football it could up to its capacity that it can and I think we did those things and um love to get into more of the details of the offensive and defensive sides of the football but overall just the team effort even coach Chiron more on the sideline getting animated drawing the bow and shooting the arrow there at the end I’m here for that I’ve been here all season for that and waiting for the Chiron Moore to come out and um I it’s just so exciting to finish what has been an abysmal and sad year uh to to finish it this way is so exciting have the big commitment news last week and then to finish in Columbus with a win against a ranked Ohio State team to me the future looks bright and we were all four weeks ago sitting here shaking our head saying we have no idea where this is going but this is exciting and I’m thrilled for these guys to get this win yeah I think the biggest thing was is that you know even sitting at five and five coming off that second bye you know you lose a game that you did at Indiana um I think it was fair to question the buyin or not or or this was going to go down the stretch uh they hadn’t played well enough to assume they were even going to win you know beat Northwestern last week and I think just a tremendous job from for RO Moore and getting these guys to buy inless we forget no will Johnson no coulston leveland in this game no Donovan Edwards who made himself a legend here two years ago in this game to kind of rally the troops uh it’s a remarkable win uh it’s it’s one of the most out of left field ones I can remember you go in as a three-score underdog um yeah it’s they got they got this they got the ship sailing in the right direction said it last week it felt like a lightning bolt had hit them with some of the stuff that happened during the bye you land Bryce Underwood you drop a 50 birger on Northwestern and you you just had to give yourself a chance and uh you know we’ll talk offense defense like we always do we’ll hand out some game balls we will uh you know take questions at the end um but more than anything else I mean if that’s the way guys like Mason Graham Kenneth Grant Donovan Edwards C mulling they they go out I mean they’re Michigan Legends especially that defensive line which we’ll talk about here in a bit I have a couple super chats we’ll read here before we do our first ad read this one’s from Shane Johnson he says almost speechless but a few things wink and his D wowser Ryan Day horrific coaching thank you sir and flowers to AB for for the only one picking a close game with his prediction well done PS Bryce Underwood equals seven straight we ow Ohio thank you Shane for that uh Josh Jackson 1999 Super Chat says let’s go and number two more should suspend cam Brandt or get rid of him for pulling off an osu’s player helmet and punching him this isn’t MSU or OSU we win and lose with class uh I didn’t see that happen but if that did um that’s unfortunate it needs to be dealt with uh so we will talk about all those things first I want to talk about our friends over at my perfect franchise uh we’ve been talking about them all season long uh you know Andy Ludi our buddy over there he’s going to help help you out if you’re ready to leave the corporate Rat Race For The American Dream if you’re looking for a side hustle while working your current job or if you just want to diversify build wealth or leave a legacy he can help you he’s a franchise consultant as well as a questions about business ownership you can contact him at my perfect franchise. net uh call him at 404 973 9901 email him at andymy perfectfringe show all year let’s I think we start this one with defense Ryan uh you look at look through the box score here uh 252 yards of total offense for Ohio State 175 pass yards 77 rush yards we always talk about how the team that wins the rushing battle wins this game Michigan runs the ball for 172 yards holds Ohio State to 26 carries 77 yards and outside of a a chunk play from quinan Judkins really nothing doing there I thought this this performance was remarkable for the defensive line guys I mean we know Michigan Seven F seven and five they’re going to go to a bowl game where a lot of guys are gonna opt out this was going to be most more likely than not the last time we see guys like Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant Josiah Stewart we’ll see with some of the others on that defense but they went out I think the biggest development of this last month of the season was that we went from seeing kind of these individual great efforts and plays on the Michigan defense to a GU you know a a group that that did it in unison that played as one wi marale made the big adjustment this year just a remarkable remarkable kind of legendary performance to be honest with you it was what I thought this defense could be coming into this season as we came into this season we knew we lost Jim Harbaugh and then we lost JJ McCarthy and so much of our offensive Weaponry but on defense we felt like we somewhat had it reloaded in terms of having great defensive lineman will Johnson and a secondary that had some veteranism’ been a very solid defense throughout this season and I feel like there’s been times where we have not performed to the level that this team is capable of these players are capable of and that’s my criticism of wink marale there are some scheme things that I don’t necessarily agree with but overall performance-wise the talent that exists on this defense should perform at a high level if there’s a competent person organizing and arranging them and uh I thought today you saw a very smart game plan by wink marale and I think you saw Chip Kelly Chip Kelly is gonna go home and he’s gonna Cry tears that are extra salty because he made some mistakes today that he’s going to regret the the stubbornness of Chip Kelly to continue to run the football into our defensive tackles and into the front seven of our defense as as opposed to swinging it out or getting some tunnel screens going with your Ferrari wide receivers uh he’s going to regret what he opted to do but um it’s not our job to call their plays for them so I think our defense did a tremendous job of responding to being attacked in the Run game I think Ohio State tried to settle into this run game trying to open up their passing and Michigan can commit or seven to stopping the run because they are so dominant with Kenneth Grant and Mason Graham in the middle those guys consistently absorb two blocks and then they also lost no leverage in their gaps or were able to come out of their Gap to make plays it’s not something that you’re going to see on ESPN as listed as a top play but these guys do it play in play out Mason Graham specifically what he does in the in the small space in order to get himself off of a block and into a position to make a play he does it all the time and that’s why he’s an All-American and that’s why he’s going to make a lot of money playing on Sundays but um overall defensively we played a fantastic game aari pagee I know we’re not doing game balls yet but he’s in contention for me as I’ve been thinking about game balls he had an excellent day and then you know Zeke Barry if I had to identify somebody that was getting targeted he got targeted a lot but I think he did his very best when he was asked to do a whole lot in cover single Jeremiah Smith and some of the other guys from Ohio State so like you said some some patico some Harmony um and just great execution great grit great toughness from this Michigan defense through all four quarters of football and I think they were bailed out at times by the fact that it seemed like they wanted to establish a run game um you know really I mean Ohio State’s only touchdown came in that two-minute Drive uh at the end of the first half where they’re starting to go Tempo and they’re getting their wide receivers involved and that’s you know that’s kind of been a thing where the last few years they they’ve I don’t want say taken the Michigan recipe but they’ve tried to run the ball a little bit more when you’re a Ferrari like you’ve got these three great wide receivers um you know you got a guy in abuka who’s gonna be a first-rounder or is’s gonna be up there Jeremiah Smith is gonna be as good as anyone that they’ve had and you know credit to Michigan the coverage was really good throughout the day um abuka had four catches for 51 yards Jeremiah Smith five for 35 and a touchdown Which you know again early on a couple question questionable calls SL Maybe no calls that led to him um you know getting getting the ball or get setting Ohio State up for success but just a remarkable job I thought the pass rush was was terrific let me see actually Michigan didn’t have a sack today but it felt like those guys were disruptive it felt like you know some of the early mistakes certainly the the interception right near the the goal line for Amir Hall on will Howard I think that was a mistake that kind of lingered uh mcari P just talked about him he got a couple licks in on there on him that seemed to you know put a little Equity into him being a bit shaken up late in the game and then um you know the interception late so will Howard 175 yards one touchdown two picks uh other than that let’s see here third down numbers at one point they were six like six for 11 or six for 12 on third down so Michigan really clamped down late uh finished six for 16 uh 4.3 yards per play allowed just a again we talked about up and down the board but just a workmanlike effort from those guys it was really interesting to me I’d like to go back and see some of the play calls that they had because I thought I saw a lot of third and six third and sevens for Ohio State where they opted to try and run the football and that shocked me to me that to me that was Chip Kelly basically sacrificing the queen in a chess game because you’re not using your best weapons and the only reason I can think of is that you’re two of afraid that you can’t protect your quarterback for long enough to get it out to him and to me when I saw that not just one time but happened consistently throughout the game that they were calling run plays on Third and fives third and sixes I just kept thinking they’re going to leave us in this thing they’re going to leave us around at the end and you know God willing we’re going to get an opportunity to kick a field goal with our solid kicker and sure enough that’s how it fleshed out let’s just hand out defensive game balls now um mcari page Amir Hall I’ll put them in the same buck there um he singled out mcari paage so let’s hear let’s hear about his performance a little bit Ernest Housman as well eight tackles tackle uh 1.5 tackles for loss a lot of guys worthy of this pick today absolutely I mean it’s one of those things that there just needs to be a special helmet sticker for today’s effort and today’s game for all 11 guys out there and not just the 11 but guys that rotated in guys that helped it was a all over effort but if you had to identify one guy that’s stood out to me mcari page when a big play needed to be made or a big tackle needed to be made m page happened to be right place right time and came with violent violent intentions and uh to me that’s what you look for in a safety and he kind of I thought got the heart beating on defense and everybody else followed suit so he’s my game ball earner yeah I’m with you there uh his best game by far this year I think you know most of mcari pig’s best game film at Michigan comes playing alongside guys like Rod Moore Mikey Sr still and will Johnson but um he was a tone Setter today and that’s a Michigan Captain making plays for them uh in the biggest possible moment and uh actually his second pick ever in Ohio stadium so he’s carved out a bit of a bit of a legacy here any other lingering thoughts about the defense I mean they didn’t didn’t allow anything today there’s nothing to really nitpick and it’s I think it’s A++ across the board I would just say that it’s it could be a concern that people look at the stats and say oh wow we didn’t have any sacks there’s make no mistake will Howard was uncomfortable and under pressure and not just under pressure but under pressure with only four rushers and only five rushers which allowed us to do doubles on Jeremiah Smith and allowed us to be good in coverage in that last series there I mean there was three plays in a row where there was no one open and there was time for him to throw the football but um in general I just thought it was a really good job of the defensive line and defensive tackle specifically impacting influencing this game if ever there’s going to be a game more impacted by defensive line play I’d like to see it because for me if I ever become a coach this is my clinic tape we go back we watch the 2024 Michigan Ohio State game and you’re going to watch some interior tackles wreak havoc and uh just happy for those guys absolutely we’ll move to offensive takeaways here in a second but we want to shout out our other sponsor uh for this postgame reaction show our friends over at passes you know that Michigan announced a partnership with passes a few weeks ago and Hey listen um I’ll be honest with the copy they gave me this week kind of built in the fact that there might have been a loss to Ohio State so I got to improvise a little bit here um if you don’t want this game next year to come down to a game-winning field goal late or you want to see uh you know more offense you want to see more Playmakers on the field instead of the death by a thousand paper cuts which has worked but uh we know that Michigan’s getting more talented we know they landed the number one player in the country in Bryce Underwood there’s something you can do about that passes. comom is the newest partner of Michigan Athletics uh we had the founder on the show Lucy guo a few weeks ago she’s amazing super friendly super passionate uh really excited to get this off the ground at the University of Michigan uh passes is a Content platform that takes you inside the athletic program best of all all of the membership tiers let you get exclusive content and experiences with a portion of your proceeds going directly to support the future of Michigan football basketball and more uh if you want to listen and this was a great win Michigan expects to be in the college football playoff Michigan expects to be uh you know competing for national titles and if you’re looking to recapture those days with guys like JJ McCarthy Blake korm Zack zinder it starts with the fanss and it starts with passes so head on over to passes. Michigan sign up and make sure that this train keeps rolling because they’ll go for five in a row next year in Ann Arbor all right now we will move on to offensive takeaways and I led with it earlier the team that typically wins the rushing battle wins this football game and Michigan let it throughout W are to wire um Kell bellings obviously the hero of the day once again um no Donovan Edwards other than four carries early in this game Michigan had no passing offense to speak of it’s nine Davis Warth was nine for 16 62 yards two picks he probably could have have one or two more missed an easy touchdown missed a couple conversions that uh that power four quarterbacks need to make well they had enough in the form of K mullings today who a couple weeks ago like we said we were lamenting the fact that he wasn’t seeing the field enough and it happened by necessity today 32 carries 116 yards their only offensive touchdown uh and a 27 yard run on Third and six what an incredible play that was one of the one of the best runs I’ve ever seen in this rivalry to help not only put set you up for a win but uh you know ultimately you win the game because of it khil mullings is a testament to what I think just any Michigan player aspires to be but a guy that is obviously team oriented goes from linebacker to running back and goes to running back not secure a starting spot to but to complement Blake corm and Donovan Edwards two of the most dominant backs in college football at the time and bides his time waits his turn every opportunity he gets he’s physical he gets every inch that he’s capable of getting and runs into pack boxes and just does what he’s asked to do and uh to have a game where you feel like you get the opportunity to put the team on your back and carry some weight for your for your teammates he had to have appreciated the opportunity and has to be tickled that he made the most of it and had some of those highlight plays and highlight breakouts and sure there weren’t any rushes for you know 25 30 40 yards but um the grind and the physical nature in which khil mullings has not just attacked this game but has had throughout his career to me was the tone Setter for this game this was such a gritty physical tough stick your face on someone and move them type game and that’s what we wanted we wanted Ohio State to come down to our level and play that style of game and it it’s no surprise to me that if we did get them to come down and play in the trenches and try and win a battle of who’s more physical that khil mullings came out weing and a crown because that kid has consistently been a physical Bruiser that consistently gets the job done and uh super excited for him just like I am for the guys on defense to have had the performance that he did 10,00% and and the fact that again it’s I’ll stop short of saying it’s a Redemption Arc um but a couple weeks ago I think was it that Indiana game where he had I think four carries in the first half and I think in the Oregon game there was a game where he had eight carries for 16 yards just just kind of lost it in the middle of the year whether it was I know he was banged up a little bit I know that uh you know obviously the offensive line wasn’t didn’t have the same lanes for him to run through as you saw early on in the season but you know colum mullings this year you think about the games that he single-handedly won for you I mean won you the USC game one you the Minnesota game I mean I can’t say single-handedly today because the defense was outstanding but but this guy’s uh I mean he had the jump pass here a couple years ago he’s he’s been a selfless guy and done everything that this staff has asked of him to do and you know people were worried about his ball security which was always ridiculous uh because of the Fiesta Bowl just a guy who came out in in a legend making performance um and he’s a guy who I already think very highly of for what he’s done at Michigan but to do that in this game um you know that’s that’s Aiden Hutchinson having three z a couple years ago that’s uh Cornelius Johnson doing what he did a couple years ago that’s Rod Moore calling game last year it’s uh he’s now kind of etched himself in the history of this rivalry he has and he’s deserves a place in the list of running backs that have had success at Michigan and kind of set the standard for what you expect when you see a Michigan ball carrier and uh I hope to see him on Sundays I feel like it’s we not to Pivot to NFL but it was kind of a a mainstream story of do you pay a running back because does a running back make or break your offense and to me the answer is obvious yes your running back is the heart and soul of your team and as much as your quarterback can make your team you can live or die by your quarterback if your running back has 150 yards with two touchdowns every game you’re probably sitting pretty good positionally as a team so um excited for mullings excited for guys coming up behind them and I still think that there were opportunities in this game that we left on the table to get to some of the things that maybe weren’t as positive as just winning this football game but if you watch the first series I feel like the way that Kirk Campbell calls an offense when we need to score is so different than when we have even just a three-point or a seven-point lead and you watch that first series and we’re in Split gun with two backs on each side we’re motioning the tight end and shifting then as we get into the later series we had six series kind of there in the Middle where they don’t go anywhere you know three and outs or or four or five plays and we Punt and a lot of those times I feel like mullings in any back that we have is kind of at a disadvantage because we’re not challenging the eye discipline there’s so many times in the first series that you’ve got guys zooming across the field you got guys not sure where to go and then you get into this settling in to the offense when we’re ahead and you see mullings just running his head into an eight-man box and very little dressing to confuse the defense with it so even more of a credit and tip of the cap to khil moldings in the offensive line for what they were able to do today because I do think they were put into some positions again which has been consistent through the season that the defense has a clear idea of where you’re going and they still haven’t haven’t been able to stop it I want to shout out the offensive line too because you know earlier we talked about how you look at the box score and it shows that Michigan didn’t have any sacks but uh they didn’t allow any sacks either and but I don’t think Ohio state was as disrupt like even close to as disruptive uh as as they could have been in this matchup um I thought Evan link played one of his best games of the year I thought you know again um you know Davis Warren bailed out of some clean pockets and you know I’m not going to fixate as much on him this week given that they won the game but um Michigan probably wins this game by multiple scores with even just like a like a replacement level power for starter and that’s no disrespect to Davis Warren but like at this point we’ve seen him start what eight games nine games this year and and he is what he is um on the same token I think the number is they’re now eight and0 in the last I think 10 years when they passed for 100 yards or less which is absolutely insane that’s insane it’s like the most Jim Harbaugh of stats um you could ever imagine and uh certainly uh wherever he’s watching this at today I mean has to just be smiling ear to ear uh especially after his uh his underst study so to speak beats Ryan day for the second year in a row and the fourth year uh in a row Al together um I mean there’s not a whole lot else to talk about offensive I thought when they mixed Alex orgy in there it made sense he had a 29 29 yard run in this game needed to pop one of those if he was gonna find a way or if you’re gonna find a way to win this game I mean your leading receiver today was Marlin Klein with three catches for 13 yards uh two huge conversions out of him a huge one from pton O Davis Warren’s roommate um you know on that game-winning drive just they just found a way to scrape the bottom of the barrel for enough they just did enough and you know it goes back to the fact that they could have shut these guys could have come in and hung their heads and shut it down at any point this year and we know the talent deficit on offense that they’ve been operating out of but to just scrape the barrel and do just enough when you’re defense was playing so well and they they put them in some tough spots today um that’s complimentary football and and they saved their best for last and that was uh again you look at this drive chart uh Michigan had its last two drives before the kneel down they ran 26 plays for matth is hard 134 yards on their last two drives um one of those was the interception on the goal line but that was dominant football um and if you know the fourth quart the type of fourth quarters we’ve seen the last few years in this game I’m trying to do Fast Math because I think the last two Series has almost as many plays as the preceding seven series before it and to me that just goes to show I mean if you go back to the the reception chart and you look at the guys that caught balls today I don’t know if I’ve ever been able to do this in a game but I feel like I can go through the list and tell you where the third down was that that guy made a catch right past the sticks I mean Klein I believe had three two of them were third down conversions that he caught on his knees right at the sticks Tyler Morris I think had the same thing Frederick Moore early in the game same thing they had one catch pton o one catch but I know exactly where that catch was and how critical it was to the success of this game and I know that makes maybe maybe makes me seem like I’ve just got this lens of bias that I think our offense is amazing that’s not what I’m saying but they did enough like you said they did enough to get this job done and there was no more than what was needed to get the job done but they got the job done and super proud I mean even just Payton o that little you know existing in a vacuum of just that one play comes back to the football just barely gets it by the fingers and keeps it off the ground rolls stays in bounds for a first down and we continue that drive him coming in as a walk-on a cross player and going through his grind to get there to me this was a storybook style of game for these guys that are deserving of a better season and this cherry on top is quite large on top of their Sunday that is this season may as well do the game ball now it I mean CL mullings in agreement CL mullings all in favor I okay deal uh I think we can go to uh we’ve got a lot of super chats here apologies we’re not getting to them sooner just trying to keep half game half a game ball to Dominic Zapata or sorry I pronounce his M name all the time but that dude I mean how unreal is it to have him considering what Ohio state did not have in their field goal kicker yeah well we’ll take that question first from JP Monto van for 499 he says how’s it possible that Dominic zavada wasn’t nominated for the L Gro award uh I don’t know I don’t know but he’s the people’s L Gro Award winner so that’s all these awards are all politics that’s all you need to know these awards are all politics and all that matters is gereral Moore didn’t have the right person’s number to make sure that zavada got in there but we all know how good of an impact and a positive impact and his paychecks will resemble uh good compensation for that trophy Miss absolutely uh need to fire up the money Canada to make sure he’s back next year so when you’re playing more of these consequential games he’s your guy um and also someone very I shouldn’t say this I’ll just put it this way I was informed or it was brought to my attention that apparently the stats for one of the guys that were was the finalist for the award was incorrect when they sent it out to the voters so I don’t know if that affected it or not but uh you know it’s the old Ron Swanson quote I think awards are stupid but they’d be less stupid if they went to the right people uh let’s go to this one from Dy who says it’s satisfying knowing that gold has not been wasted on pants for the last four years yeah in regards to the trophy that the Ohio State players apparently get uh if they beat Michigan they get a pair of golden pants of some sort that I I’m not aware of but uh yeah I’m excited it’s an expensive mineral that needs to be used for other purposes so I’m glad that that mineral was saved and uh hopefully we can continue to use it for better sources we’ll go to a game question here uh from Josh Jackson for 499 he says Ohio State has the best wide receiver core in the nation versus a horrible U ofm secondary I’ll push back on that by the way um why continue to run into the best defensive line of the nation because they’re tough because they’re tough stubborn tough uh honestly I I’m baffled I’m baffled just like you are Josh Jackson that they would not take a more perimeter approach I mean I watched the game to I watched the TV copy and Joel clatt and saying the same thing it’s not a s it’s surprising everybody who is watching that game that Chip Kelly didn’t do more to get the ball to the perimeter and all I can say is thank you thank you indeed um also uh I’m being told our Clayton safy got pepper sprayed so I want to extend my thoughts prayers and well wishes to Clayton um I was going to have him take the first shift on the drive home that will not be happening anymore so um I’ll make sure I handle the drive on the way out of Columbus here uh last call for question by the way we have a couple super chats that we’ll keep getting to um take this one from am 89 he says for $10 last year’s game was relief and Vindication this is just awesome um this is Cherry this is the cherry on top I don’t want to say that you come down here and this was a Death March and you didn’t expect to win but you’re three score underdogs like if they didn’t win today Michigan fans would have said okay well we’ll take our nil we’ll take our Bryce Underwood height we’ll take the national title we’ll do our Christmas shopping and load up on all that stuff and and we’ll be on with our day this is uh like I said it’s it’s not the best of the four wins It’s the funniest I don’t know if that can be debated I mean maybe the best because of how unexpected it was but it’s all relative to me I think the issue is this is the most shameful loss that an Ohio State fan or player has probably absorbed since I’ve been on Earth I don’t know um I’m not on that side of the fence but you think about what you’ve been able to go to of okay they ducked Us in 2020 and then 2021 2022 they’ve got whatever they want to say cheaters allegations blah blah blah the refs are in their favor it’s a home game it’s the weather it’s this it’s that this game triple point underdogs better Talent on both sides of the football we don’t have a quarterback what much less even in an offense and we’re coming to your place and you get one penalty I think is what they got the entire game and to me even their one touchdown I’ll be the guy that says it that was an obvious pass interference on the offense it was a push off he got off of Zeke Barry wasn’t it it was after five yards they should have been called for offensive pass interference would they have scored Pro possibly but that was a no call that should have been called the refs were not against you there was nothing special that Michigan had that you didn’t know about that surprised you you came out and you didn’t have enough you didn’t have enough to get the job done and you tried to throw Haymakers and stand in a ring with us instead of dance around and and that’s your fault and you have to wear this and I feel like if you’re an Ohio State fan player coach this has to be one of the ones that hurts the most out of the last four years this one hits you right in the Juno and I bet you’re feeling like you got a puke uh Mark the word junam off your postgame show Bingo cards that’s a first one here um bizzer for 499 says this guy Third Base fired for real for real uh I hope he stays forever for being honest um from $10 from Mr Dave did you see any noticeable Improvement in play calling in the last two games did Campell give himself a chance to return next year thanks for the great post games all year um I I don’t know just taking the the last two weeks is in a vacuum it’s two victories you don’t apologize for him and uh they did just enough so I I don’t know whose job is safe or what not but you got to at least get back to an ARB celebrate this one a little bit and start evaluating because uh Signing Day is Wednesday a lot of there are a lot of changes that do need to be made still but uh it’s tough to say Dave I yeah I would say we reserve that until the end of the end of the season and not only that but to the end of Signing Day the way that recruiting is going if I’m Chiron Moore the way the last two weeks has G gone I do nothing until February or I know there’s early signes but I do nothing until it’s necessary to do something and when I go to do something the first place I’m looking is offensive quarterbacks offensive I’m sorry offensive coordinator and quarterbacks but um for the time being you just ride up high and watch Ryan day’s press conference on repeat absolutely be firing that one up in the car on the way back uh any I mean this is one of the few postgame shows we’ve ever done well it usually H it happens once a year now when they beat Ohio State there aren’t usually questions it’s just usually loud noises and screaming and all of that um so I guess that might be um might just be a good place to kind of put a pin in it there’s a lot going on here a lot to wrap up before we get back on the road um I I’ll close by saying this seven and five I think when you really kind of take take a deep breath step back and look at that as the floor of what this season could be and that’s what it was so we could play the wha if game I mean they could have lost to USC they could have lost to Minnesota you know Michigan State could have gone sideways at any point this game at any point could have gone sideways um the totality of it is you are what your record says you are um but at the end of the day you know when you when you look at it as you come out of this year with two and0 in rivalry games Little Brown Jug stays home Paul buan stays home I know it’s not prestigious but George jitt trophy Northwestern game that stays home and you you have a win over Ohio State um they they left a couple opportunities on the table for this to be a much better season but if you told me before the year that that was what Cheryl Moore’s first season could be or would look like I think you take it I think you take it knowing that knowing that there’s all this momentum behind building the roster differently and what the future might look like but from wire to wire this year I saw a team that fought for four quarters even in games where it got somewhat run off the field and there’s a lot that needs to get better I think there are steps that Chiron Moore can take into being a better head coach in terms of leading a program but man oh man um that’s a hell of a first year for a guy stepping into the shoes that he did losing the amount of players that they did I mean the only thing it’s it goes without saying like if you have told me that they were going to go seven and five I was like okay well did they beat Michigan State or Ohio State and they did both so that’s off to them there’s a lot that can improve there’s a lot that needs to get better but there’s no better feeling than making the people in this building in this city squirm the way that they did and uh that they’re gonna have to sit with that for another 365 days to me the the finishing this game Northwestern and the way that they were able to come out and finish a season where it very easily could have been oh will Johnson’s banged up oh we’re back to Davis Warren as a quarterback for the second time this could have been an easy season to shut down slightly or let your foot off the gas start protecting yourself for what your future may be as you’re an individual but it speaks volumes to Chiron Moore’s leadership capacity to keep this team together to keep this team grinding to keep them focused on the next opponent and improving even though at the end of the road there’s not going to be Indianapolis which these guys are all accustomed to there’s not going to be playoff potential which these guys have grown accustomed to and I don’t think it can be overstated how challenging that must be and for Chiron to not only rise to that challenge but then rally these guys to go into Columbus and believe in themselves enough to beat a team that everyone said you have no chance to beat and to me that speaks volumes to who he is as a leader and what he’s capable of as a leader and do I think that we should have dropped a game to Washington no do I think we should have lost Illinois no do I think we should have been more competitive and beat Indiana yes but I did not think that this year we all agreed that there’d be a fall-off for this season I did not think that this season we would be able to compete with the top five or the top 10 in the country and that’s okay that’s where we are as a program we’ll build from wherever we are but to sit back now at the end of the season and have it be concluded and realize that you are still even though you’ve regressed good enough to beat one of the best Ohio St teams they’ve ever put together I’m gonna sleep great tonight I’m gonna sleep great tonight with that being the last thing that I think about before I uh go off into REM cycle absolutely uh beautifully said I don’t think there’s anything I have to add uh so we’ll start cleaning things up here uh by the end of the today our flash
