good Oakland’s also a lot better than they were the few previous times we talked about Oakland I think on this channel um although also not really not a good team uh they’re 192nd on kmom they scrimmaged Michigan in an exhibition I came away saying Oakland’s the worst team I’ve ever watched at the division one level they played Illinois close at Illinois then they covered against Kansas also mixed in with that they had a 44o loss to Boise State like they lost by more points than they scored in that game uh they are three and five on the year wins over Toledo and rght state but uh they’re coming off a 16-point loss at Youngstown State who’s 20 spots lower than Oakland on kpai point blank is Oakland any good no at all no not not good at all no Oakland’s shooting 3% worse than Michigan State from three on the season yeah they’re just they’re just for lack of a a deeper term this should be a game that Michigan State blows out Oakland where do you think your team’s going to be at mentally given you had 10 days off for this Oakland did too but uh I feel like you know you had such a good start against Nebraska Minnesota kind of feels like a team that maybe didn’t want a 10-day break like things were I am a little bit just just a just a smidge fearful that there’s a little bit of like a a layoff big game or sorry not not big game but like layoff into a game against like you know I I still have the belief that when you play schools in the state of Michigan there’s a little bit extra for like these guys to like want to cook Michigan State guys or Michigan guys the the big D1 schools in the state um so I think there’s a little bit of a factor in there uh but everything that like Oakland I think people think about like Oakland last year and what they did and what’s scary and it was like guys getting hot from three uh it was GOI right and it was Trey Townson they just they just don’t have that this year yeah so Oakland this is crazy this is crazy they have four players on the team that have attempted at least seven three-pointers on the season can I read you those four players please DQ Cole you’ll remember him from last year DQ Cole is shooting 25% from three on 54 attempts uh Jason woodrich 38 attempts 18% from three he’s a fifth year senior from Cleveland State uh you’ve got Jaylen Jones sophomore 13 attempts 23% from three and then you’ve got Malcolm Christie 29 attempts 24% from three so they they literally do not have a volume three-point shooter making more than 25% from three on their team that’s not good that’s crazy that’s how’s that possible how do you even build a roster like that how do how’s this team won five how many games they won five three they’ve won three then uh two against division one opponents who they who’s a non- division one opponent that’d be great was it please tell me it was a D3 school they beat Defiance def the Defiance Yellow Jackets by 23 that’s it 23 Point win over Defiance damn campy shot 28% from three deade yeah I mean this this this this is not a team built to upset people they can’t shoot threes um I mean they play extremely slow that’s one thing but like they play extremely slow and don’t hit shots so I I really don’t know what this what this team really offers much I think michig I think Michigan State can stifle them defensively and um I mean it it could be an ugly basketball game but the way Michigan State’s offense has been trending you would hope that they you know are able to uh make some things happen and they could run away with this pretty easily so they’re running all the gokki sets for Jason woodrich and he’s just not Goki he’s a career 32% shooter from three like literally take what was special about last year’s team with gki and just put a horrible shooter in that spot and take away Trey Townsen and that’s what this team is like it’s such a bad gross campy roster I almost wonder like what is campy doing you know they’re not also they’re not necessarily big either so like I mean the biggest guy they play is 69 so you know there’s not really much that Oakland’s offering this year with all the respect to what campy did last year so pretty perfect matchup for your team right yeah so this is going to be one of those games where Michigan State like wins comfortably by 37 and then I’m gonna have to hear how impressive it is right that’s kind of what’s going on right now what would be impressive I maybe I’m it’s the hater in me I don’t think there is an impressive result against Oakland it’s just you guys got to beat him like I let me just pretty sure is there a bad result Michigan beat Oakland by 44 in the exhibition and I came away thinking it was not a very impressive Michigan performance yeah I mean but that’s yeah I there’s not there’s nothing really to take you just can’t if this game’s in 20 it’s a bad performance yeah but also like I’m not trying to set yall off for failure it’s just like like kmom only ask you winning by 15 that’s crazy I’m confused I’m confused too how good is this team this Michigan State team I don’t really know I don’t know how good do you think they are I mean if you want want to say like the Kon thing I don’t think they’re the 17th best team in the country I think they’re like the 28th best team in the country you said 24th at the beginning of the call now you’re down to 28 I think that’s where it ends up like 28th best team in the country okay I kind of simultaneously believe like no one in the Big 10 is top 25 and also Michigan State might be and that leaves me in a weird spot cuz I don’t know I don’t I don’t feel like you guys should be like the big 10 favorites right now but I think the last week has swung everybody that’s a Michigan State fan into thinking you should be am I off on that um no that’s probably the right read um and I mean a lot of that has to do with like oh you see you know we blow out Nebraska by 40 and then they go and Nebraska’s able to beat Indiana at home by by 18 like that I’m not saying I’m doing I’m just saying that’s what really what’s being what’s what’s occurring right now is that Michigan state has played two big 10 games and they smack both the opponents don’t matter who they are they just smacked them the smacking is the important part you’ve risen from 35th in the country on kmom to 17th in the country on Kon largely because you blew out those two teams yeah so I don’t want to like over or or underrate the fact that those are blowouts blowouts matter that’s good I think Minnesota’s was the worst team in the conference the Nebraska win was impressive no doubt but I also am not really convinced Nebraska is all that good I mean I know they won at home against Indiana but like home court is home court like if you flip this if you had to go to Lincoln you think you beat Nebraska by 30 still no but we might still beat him by 20 yeah I don’t think so I’m not saying home Court’s worth 40 points but I just I think you look across the league right now like Road wins are not happening unless it’s against the worst teams in the league yeah that’s what I’m saying and what Michigan state was when was their first like Road game against a good like Ohio State and Northwestern in early January early January okay so I guess you’ll kind of we’ll see what’s going on there yeah I don’t know I I said this in the Discord because I was like debating Michigan State fans the other night but like I don’t I don’t think your opinion on Michigan State should have changed that much in the last week I guess is all I’m saying and I my stance all along here has been I think you guys are probably not going to lose a game to anybody you’re better than and you’re usually going to struggle against teams that are just more talented like to me go through this the results right now that’s played completely true Memphis was more talented Kansas was more talented you lose the only win you have against a team with more Talent than you was Carolina and respectfully Carolina six and four right now and you needed four different guys setting a career high to win by four and overtime so I guess I’m just like you You’ you’ve got one top 50 win on the season and I think what’s happening for me is like like Purdue and Illinois are losing games that were toss-ups against number one and number 15 and while there’s a 10day off strrretch it seems like the the narrative with Michigan state has flipped from like oh we’re like in the mix to like we’re probably the best team here and I’m kind of like whoa I mean what happened you know what though I think that’s a just a I think any fan base would do that though that’s the thing okay I think any I think any fan base would would do that that’s just fan thing okay like if Michigan State plays Illinois or not Illinois excuse me Tennessee at the bresin what’s the result h losing by two pro I mean I I think the yeah probably yeah all right just a different answer than me then I’m I’m in a very different spot than you and it seems your mass fan base right now which is just interesting I’m I’m in the info Gathering stage right now to I mean here’s where I quick like where I stand because we don’t really really want to talk about this match up with Oakland um this MSU team is doing what I thought they would do even before the season I guess um but it did change a little bit like I think they’re going to beat bad Big 10 teams I’d be very intrigued to see what they look like against good Big 10 teams that’s all I’m saying and we won’t learn that until January 19th though right so we’re gonna play our favorite game which is what Greg I don’t I just I’m dreading the next month because wait and see this is why I’m dreading the next month so you and I came on this program four days ago with DK shots of Spartan Hoops DK y came on here did our whole like what’s the top teams in the Big 10 we came away with a collective ranking that had Michigan state fifth I believe you ranked Michigan State seventh out of the seven teams we did sixth or seventh you had them outside your top five with me uh DK ended up putting them like third or fourth that got them up but that’s fine collectively we sort of agreed like yeah around fifth and we all agreed they’re behind Illinois and Purdue and while that that was recorded after y’all destroyed uh Minnesota right and Nebraska and Nebraska so essentially what what I’m after here is I think that like what we did like I think pting Michigan stay fifth in the league or fourth or fifth is like a pretty Rosy projection I think that’s closer to being high on Michigan State than down on them and somehow with Michigan State not playing a game in the three days since then you flip from that to like oh yeah we would do what Illinois did to Tennessee yeah we like like like d turs ranks have them second and everybody in the MSU Channel agreed I was also I was also factoring in that Tennessee played the way that they did okay I think the best version of Tennessee beats Michigan State 10 times out of 10 all right Neal I think also like Tennessee is just a better basketball team in Michigan State Texas Tennessee yeah they’re the number one team in the country yeah but like so like what I don’t understand what the question was with them us playing I’m trying if it feels like you guys have leapt Purdue and Illinois in the last three days while not playing a game and I’m trying to follow what no no like you’re saying you would you would do what Illinois just did to Tennessee uh no I’m all I’m I’m still had Purdue and Illinois ahead of Michigan State I would even listen to having Purdue behind Michigan State right now I don’t see Michigan State ahead of Illinois though I I feel good about where I have Michigan State I still feel like okay the what my eyes have seen the better basketball teams there’s there’s like at least three to four better basketball teams in Michigan State yeah I’m I’m we might need to tap DK in for Recaps for the next month I think but then I’m ducking because then it’s you guys are good and I’m ducking but like I’m I’m telling everyone right now what’s going to happen you guys are going to go like six and one in the next seven because you don’t play a top 30 team and you are like the 25th best team and you’re not going to lose games to teams you’re better than like that’s that’s my whole thing with this team so you’re going to go like six and one or seven and0 get to 15-2 or 14 and three be ranked like sixth in the country and everyone’s G to be pissed at me for being like I don’t buy that this team’s the six best no way we get that high if you’re 15 and two not with the the resume and the schedule if you’re dog at that point if you’re 15- two 14 and three you’re just gonna be ranked that high I well we be the we’ll just be a fraudulent number 16 but that’s I think every I think every Michigan State I I would hope they would say that no people putting you in the top 15 right now and you’re sitting here be like yeah I think there might be like two or three teams in the Big 10 better than us like that top 15 in the country is crazy okay I’m just I’m dreading it because I again I feel like I am high relative to National people on Michigan State but it it feels like like in this circle that we live in I’m low on them and I don’t like doing this but you said you had them at like what 21st I have him like around I’d put him in the top 25 right now yeah right would you say there’s not much of a difference between the 15 spot in between 15 and 25 in this conference there’s a big difference oh oh in in the Big 10 or national or well both I guess I think there’s a big difference between being the 14th best team in the country and in the 20s I thought but like isn’t Oklahoma top 10 they’re under defeated yeah they’re good too but that’s if if Michigan beats them I’m sure we’ll hear about how they aren’t that good so we’ll have that combo but that needs to be had I got Oklahoma winning that game for what it’s worth but who’s Oklahoma beat I don’t know I I just I don’t like doing the resume game right now I hate resumes that’s what I’m getting out of all this uh let’s see well you’re probably not going to find out about you’re really not going to find out anything about Michigan State basketball until that stretch in like what mid-February yeah that’s that’s really what we’ll find out yeah um right now right now it’s just about handling business you got to win the games in front of you uh bigger picture things about this basketball team we can find out when we play better basketball teams yeah okay uh Oklahoma has the same number of top 50 wins as Michigan State same number of top 70 wins is Michigan State one more top 100 win than Michigan State and that’s the number nine team in the country well they’re undefeated they didn’t lose to yeah true but I think if Oklahoma lost two they wouldn’t be ranked right now good chance I just I don’t like this Vortex I’m in I don’t think I like where I’m at yeah so what do we do I don’t know I’m just kind of like I said this is how I’m approaching I’m just kind of like we take advantage of these to for lack of a more St bums we’re playing blow them out win the games and let’s get to the point where we get to that stretch in February and then we’ll we’ll really see what this team’s about yeah I’m bad at waiting I’m an impatient human being well I mean you do have those those games in early January sprinkled in where I think those are game games we could take something away from yeah Ohio State stinks still a top what 15 yeah per camp yeah I mean yeah still yeah I guess all right so we’ll wait three weeks uh for now we use the kpom projection dimer Pro is the most if Michigan State plays A+ and Oakland plays F what’s the most they could win by I have a number in my head uh 59 59 was my number yeah any bold predictions anything you think happens in this
