welcome to Big 10 Basketball go to the coal Center that’s fun uh not looking forward to this one at all Wisconsin we think is good we think uh Michigan we we think might be good can I just get a pulse check on these two teams in general together like two good basketball teams they’re both good in your they’re both good who’s better right now I would say the these two teams are even in my opinion uh I think you may I think you give the edge to Wisconsin cuz I still think think they had better wins than Michigan I would give Edge like I know Arizona’s struggled but I I think that’s a bigger win also they beat pit I think that’s a good win great um so yeah I think I give the edge to Wisconsin if we’re just doing like the neutral thing because obviously the coold centers were something we know that we try to warn people about that but just like what playing field they’re on slight Edge to Wisconsin Wisconsin certainly has the better resume right now if you ignore every analytic site that exists uh if you just look at wins and losses Wisconsin has the better resume for sure they’re undefeated they’re 8-0 they beat Arizona they beat pit the pit win is actually a great win they also beat UCF in blowout style they’ve taken care of business they haven’t really been in a close game other than almost losing to UT Rio Grand Valley that one was weird meanwhile Michigan has the black mark of losing to Wake Forest and the Xavier win that you just won by 25 that I gassed up so much Xavier just almost lost a buy game so yeah if you’re just playing what have they done this year Wisconsin’s like a 10 out of 10 on the what have they done meter Michigan’s like a six out of 10 I think on the what if they done meter if you’re playing the qualitative metrics game what does cpom say what does evania say what does Bart torvic say Michigan’s better Michigan’s 22nd on kmom Wisconsin’s 29th if you want to do the torvic metrics on like what if teams actually been this season Michigan’s really really high uh if you want to do Evan Mia Michigan’s really really high Wisconsin’s not low either good basketball team but it’s kind of like I’ve been trying to say on the P videos the metrics folks are saying Michigan’s better than anyone realizes and this is a really good prove it game if that’s true if they are what the metrics say they are I think this is a pretty good opportunity because it while Wisconsin does have a great resume cart they’ve had some very fortunate things happen this season that I don’t think are going to last forever could I talk through a those please they’re the number one free throw percentage team in the country now maybe maybe they never miss free throws maybe this actually holds all season they never miss a free throw but right now they’re shooting 86% from the line as a team that’s first in the country uh something that you absolutely cannot control what do teams shoot from the free throw line against you teams can’t make a free throw against Wisconsin they’re they’re shooting 72% so like that is that is a pure role of the dice are you getting lucky or not stat and Wisconsin has as much luck as anybody in the country when it comes to making free throws versus your opponent’s making free throws um I don’t anticipate that’s going to last forever in this now the co Center is weird we know that but it does feel like there’s at least an element of like Wisconsin’s been a little fortunate I don’t know if Michigan’s been fortunate necessarily the one coin flip game they were in they lost and lost because of missing shots um so to me like do I think Wisconsin’s a good basketball team I do I also think this is a very winnable game for Michigan if they are who the metrics say they are and it would be a wake everybody up statement type opportunity yeah for sure because winning in the coal Center I like despite metrics too like so was a seven spot difference on kmom I it’s more evenly matched I think with it being on the road the coal Center so like this would be this would be Dusty’s first signature win at uh yeah yeah I think this be his first signature win I mean does Xavier still count is that at the time that was definitely a signature win okay so like let’s this will be his first signature Big 10 win let me ask you this do we trust big game Dusty he’s got quite a split resume on this because if you want to look at last year the answer is no if you want to look two years ago the answer is obviously yes I think I still trust big game Dusty yeah we think Dusty May and big games could be a good thing yeah he got Chris Collins it happens yeah what I’m gonna blame a guy for losing to booooy you haven’t watched you could you you could uh I’m not going to can I tell you where I think this game will be decided please where it seems most Michigan games are sometimes decided I think the turnover battle is uh the key to this game that should terrify Michigan fans one because they’re on the road to the coold center two because they turn the ball over like crazy but here’s some reason for Hope and why I think it uh could be the deciding factor Wisconsin’s defense does a lot of good things they don’t force turnovers at all that’s not what they want to do they just want to stay in front of their man and guard really long possessions so if Michigan is turning it over in this game to me it means they’re going to be very unforced Michigan did a pretty great job against Xavier they finally didn’t lose turn over battle what did I say would happen if Michigan finally gets to a game where they don’t turn the ball over they’re going to blow some [ __ ] out that’s what I’ve been saying I still think that’s true like I I think in this game if Michigan doesn’t lose the turnover battle I think they have a really good chance to win Wisconson is one of the first teams they’ve seen that doesn’t really turn teams over at all and then on the flip side Michigan’s eighth in the country at forcing turnovers Wisconson is 10th in the country at avoiding them so it’s strength on strength weakness on weakness which team’s going to turn it over which team isn’t if it’s relatively even I like Michigan’s chances if Michigan just gets sloppy and gives it away 15 times and Wisconsin turns it over six I think that’s a recipe to lose this game yeah it’s uh it’s a very evenly matched game I think is what I’m is what I’m getting out of this um is it to me I think these two teams are on the same like I st I think these two teams are on the same plane right now I know you’re saying that Michigan is better team right now and they should if that’s the case then what does they have the worst resume they have the worst resume what what has this become if Michigan loses this basketball game is it just like we lost at the coold center that happens or like we just depend how it goes like oh well they’re two- Point underdogs even according to the metrics that really like Michigan but I think if if Wisconsin was evenly matched with Michigan I think Wisconsin would be favored by five or six at home yeah yeah I think like this is this is implying on a neutral floor Michigan would be favored by like two or three which I mean we know the coal Center is far from neutral Co Center can swing a game any second I’m not underestimating or downplaying that but um yeah I don’t know I look am I fall in for it hell yes that’s what’s happening maybe I’m just a little gassed up that I have a good basketball team to watch again but talking about yeah they’re pretty evenly matched Wisconsin’s defense is 30 spots lower than Michigan’s offense Wisconsin’s offense is 10 spots lower than Michigan’s defense it’s somewhat evenly match somewhat and I think the the story of Michigan’s season to me Kart has been this every game has been played on Michigan’s terms including the Wake Forest loss it was played on Michigan’s terms they just missed all their threes in the second half Wisconsin’s an incredibly hard team to play on your terms with right like Wisconsin forces everybody to play Wisconsin basketball the one thing I will say that intrigues me about this year Wisconsin’s been playing faster offensively than normal they’ve always been rated in the 300s in Tempo this year they’re 158th in Tempo so if Wisconsin wants to get out and run Play Dust Dusty ball which is essentially oats ball feels like a proen opportunity for a team that has a better resume than they really are as a basketball team like where can I let me pulse check this Arizona impressed you that’s a great win no so the next one if we’re moving down the list of this resume that’s so impressive the next one just to be clear it’s pit yeah pits a good basketball team I know yeah P good it’s an opportunity here cart that’s all I mean just do the same thing with y’all Wake Forest is the one mark and the best win is what Xavier which is bad yeah but again dominate zavier they did dominate Xavier it’s a it’s a massive massive game it’s a big that’s what there’s a big opportunity for Dusty it’s a big it’s a big it’s a big opportunity for f Dusty it’s a big opportunity for you it’s a huge opportunity my life hangs it’s a huge opportunity huge opportunity for you also Arizona like I get they suck but they’re still I mean if we’re doing the an Antics thing they’re still 30th for sure so like that is that still is a much better win than Michigan has yeah I mean anytime you can shoot 47 free throws at home and beat the 30th best team in the country I think that’s a statement definitely I love you man they’re three and four by the way they haven’t beaten a top 100 TEAM Arizona they just lost to West Virginia and Oklahoma back to back either of yall going play who’s in front of you right yeah I’m just saying listen listen listen listen Greg this game for me is just an it’s it’s it’s a it’s a game where I will I will make decisions see I don’t think that’s true I think if Michigan wins this game I’m going to hear all the points I’m making right now out of you after well Wisconsin actually hasn’t beaten anybody they’re not to 25 John tan is their best player no no no no I think I think Wisconsin’s really good but also I don’t on the flip side of that you think they’re good now no I’m I’m stopping you I’m sorry right now you think they’re good now just like you thought Xavier was good until Michigan rolled them and now all of a sudden Xavier stinks according to you I thought you told me zavier nice because because Xavier followed that up by struggling again which makes me think that I was just wrong okay so struggle with a bad team like Wisconsin did against UT Rio Grand Valley yeah Wisconsin’s good let me get on record Wisconsin’s good and if Michigan beats them they’re still going to be good yes can I get something on record yeah uh if Michigan loses is it just because they didn’t play the game on their terms no it’s going to depend on what happen if they if they lose the way they lost to Wake Forest where they go one for 14 from three in the second half and theyd lose a game by two where they couldn’t make a shot I’m probably going to sit here and be like damn they didn’t make a shot that sucks if they lose by 20 and nothing they try to do works and they turn it over a bunch that’s different like like if right now Michigan has one loss on the Year by two points it’s a bad loss because they couldn’t make an open shot like I haven’t seen this team lose a game that they aren’t generating good shots will they generate good shots in this game I don’t know I’m excited to see are we gonna be able to do this the rest of the year we can’t we can’t never have Michigan videos I feel like no I feel like it has to get to a point we have to come to agreement this is the only team in the country I feel like we have no sense of agreement whatsoever on our they what they are and I feel like there will be a moment where either you’re right or I’m right like either it will become clear that Michigan’s like the 40th best team in the country and then I can shut up and just do this like yeah they’re all right or will become clear to you that Michigan’s like the 20th best team in the country and that’ll flip it probably ends up in the middle you think you think so like 30 like 20 27 30 between 27 and 30 I would take that maybe that’s aour that that would be a dip from what the analytics tell us they are so that’s true it would be a jump from what you think they are I mean is it is pits 13th on like I hate analytics I know that’s the thing you hate analytics I don’t but you I mean you hat you you hated them last year when they said your team was really good too which maybe is a point on why analytics are bad I don’t know I I mean I’m just look like yukon’s still 24th Clemson’s 25th like what what are these teams it’s a lot of lot of preseason stuff built into that though right yeah North Carolina’s still 16 which if we’re doing preseason stuff Michigan’s preseason stuff would actually be hurting them where was Michigan preseason they were 36th before Cleveland State they’re up 14 spots so if preseason metrics are affecting their spot it’s hurting them not helping them so they should be top 10 you can do the torvic thing let me pull the torvic thing up this is going to be a topic for our full episode later today but um you can do the torvic thing where you sort by just regular season so it takes all preas and stuff out of it Tennessee is the best team in the country per toric Auburn second Duke third Kentucky fifth so higher than most meds would have them because ky’s played like the fifth best team in the country Illinois is ninth pretty real things I think they look pretty damn good Michigan is 17th in the country if you remove all preseason things they’re one spot ahead of Purdue one spot ahead of Ohio State one one spot ahead of Purdue and one spot ahead of Ohio State one spot ahead of Purdue one spot behind Ohio State which I I mean I disagree I don’t think Ohio State’s that good so you can disagree about things like this for sure but point is if we’re just looking at what the team has done like every computer tells us Michigan’s pretty effing good let me find Wisconsin real quick so I don’t know where they’re at Wisconsin is 37th Des spite an eight no record they are two spots behind Oregon State analytics are wild but they’re right not always Yukon you yukon’s 58th that feel right to you ah that feels a little bit aggressive that’s like not making a tournament damn near and apologize for this because you are gonna you’re not gonna have to hear it from me you are going to have to hear it from others if Michigan wins this basketball game there’s going to be a a large amount of discrediting I I see the vision like about who Wisconsin is yeah yeah I agree yeah like there’s going I don’t know what it’s gonna be uh it might be a tan angle it might be a oh we’re we I think we were tricked by Kamari McGee Max km back court like that there is going to be some of that involved in this going through the list Toni’s the best player who’s the second best player in this game Danny wolf third best uh Trey Donaldson I would argue it’s been Donaldson this season fourth best uh I’m g go Gail I gonna say we haven’t said Gail yet I’d probably go Gail fourth uh and then fifth I feel like you get into like Blackwell range Steven crra Nolan winter they do have a lot of good good types there yeah I feel like they dominate that that region yeah if you are accepting that you would rather have Steven Crow than Vlad I think I would right now I think I would right now too don’t think I would if they play their best yeah they play their best glad for sure yeah okay just wanted to go through that exercise real quick thank you uh last thing for I want to make it extremely clear I’m not calling upon Cole Center Voodoo in this preview I fully respect coold Center Voodoo I respect what the coold center is and what it has done to me and the past uh I am fully aware that Wisconsin can win basketball games at any point with any players on the court at any time and John tanji is clearly the best player in this game and I say that without an ounce of lying I respect gregard okay there you go okay I respect Greg was so genuine until you got to that point I respect
