well that one didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to um I don’t even have to look at the stat sheet but we didn’t really give ourselves a chance on offense um I don’t think uh I don’t think we had a first down in the first half and uh I was surprised that we couldn’t perform better defensively um the numbers won’t show up but we actually played pretty good the standpoint that um we gave him we turn the ball over twice uh I don’t know 20 yards L are inside the 20 so you know we gave them a couple touchdowns they capitalized on it and then we held them a number of times I think we uh we must have sacked him four or five times in the first half but we never could manufacture anything offensively so we just kept putting them back out on the field putting them back out on the field and um we we just didn’t have a very good plan on offense and we couldn’t make adjustments uh it made for a difficult day um but I give them credit they made the plays they coach better than we did um so you know I told the team that um you know it’s been a tough couple months for those guys but uh they’ve they have continued to work and practice they practiced well this week and we just didn’t get the results we we got to do a better job of coaching and try to get some better better results from our players uh but um I also told him I’m excited about the off season and I’m excited about getting out there you know I never like the season to end in football it’s the one fun fun time of the year for us as coaches and now we got to go on a pretty good stretch where we don’t get to play a game for a while so even though we’ve had a tough couple months uh it’s hard to let it go because you know now we’re back to offseason but it’s important for the guys that are coming back um to have that taste in their mouth um days like today are extremely difficult to swallow haven’t had many of them in fact I don’t know that I’ve ever had one um but uh but I challenged him um I did tell him that I was proud of him for staying with us for the last couple months um and I respected them for the way they they continued to uh practice very enthusiastically we just didn’t get results today and we got to do a much better job of coaching than what we did today
