I’m not running out of P patience with Kirby doc but we we have to stop handling him with kid gloves to try to get him going slavoski is more important than Kirby Doc and Sosi I think at this point has a better chance of salvaging a season than Kirby do so forget about giving him those cookie minutes I would put slavoski on the top line load up and then hopefully when Patrick l comes back in a couple weeks from now you’ll have two solid uh two solid scoring lines see that’s a that’s a fun question to tackle the more important player ultimately I I think I do agree with you but you know I’m going to be consistent because I was mentioning this on TSN 6 nauy all summer into the start of the season and let’s bring it up here like Doc is so integral to the success of this rebuild to me it’s like it’s unquestionable it’s unquestionable I mean Jake Evans credit to Jake Evans man God bless a hardworking guy like Jake Evans this guy is asked to play up the lineup and he doesn’t embarrass himself like drives the net gets penalties like you know that’s what we talked when I spoke about y I lovi like I watched Jake Evans I’m like wow this guy’s very noticeable like he’s really you know the perception of trying is is very very noticeable right and you’re right to point out I’m not saying sasi isn’t trying but like you see what I mean about the difference and he’s asked to play up and he does such a good job he did that last year too when all the injuries derail the team again and when I look at Kirby Doc and getting this rebuild out of the rebuild conversation and into contending conversation I mean the wha ifs the wh ifs like what if he hits great the what if he doesn’t is now what like they’re they’re I don’t want to say back to square one but like they’re not gon they can’t acquire the guy they need via trade right he has to come via the draft and you know I mean you look at Players Fowler or ha I mean we’re talking four years five years away from these guys being like good hopefully good players that matter to the team success right no doubt I mean h h would be the guy specifically right when you’re talking about the center ice position and another great game for for him last night uh with Michigan I mean he’s been just he’s been tearing it up he’s been a great story and looks like you know uh for where they got him in the draft in the middle of the first round might have a bit of a steal there on somebody who drops so that that that’s all positive with with some of the prospects but I mean you look at the timeline and especially the way Canadians tried to accelerate the timeline a little bit with their Acquisitions you know when hay gets here you know you say five years and you know that’s maybe being a little bit conservative maybe we could push it to three years you know but if it is five which I think maybe is more likely you know where is Nick Suzuki at in his career where is Cole Cofield at those guys are five years now into the future you know you’re looking at that eight-year contract with Nick Suzuki having two years left when ha is just ready to establish himself as the second line Center so it just kind of completely hinders your your timeline doc that acquisition was to try to accelerate things here to get them going in the right direction and you look at the build of the New York Rangers Kirby doc was supposed to be the Montreal Canadians mik abanag jet that that’s that’s what they’re trying to do like you look at New York in every piece you have a comparable piece that the Montreal Canadians have you know you have your mik zban Jad that supposed to be Kirby doc you know your Vincent troch is your Nick Suzuki your artmi panan is hopefully Ivan demidov hopefully you know your your Adam Fox is is hopefully Lane Hudson like you see they’re trying to build in a similar fashion uh the way they built it in New York I’m talking about uh about Gordon of course but I mean that’s you hugely important hugely like I understand the point you’re making but those guys you mentioned I like Nick Suzuki a lot I think there’s a there’s a tinge of him being underrated I think he’s a very very good hockey player yeah but all those other guys you mentioned brother those are All-Star players man those are those are guys making big money you know Lane Hudson hopes one day he could be Adam Fox you know I mean Ivan demidov you know kind of like when the maple make the playoffs uh you know show me you can do it and then I’ll believe you you know what I mean so I I understand the point you’re making but it’s uh I wonder about the Rangers model sometimes because of how I don’t want to say they fell into I mean they kind of fell into some of those guys didn’t they yeah they did they did that that’s that’s completely fair you know but I’m I’m I’m not I’m not saying that um you know they’re going to be the Rangers I’m just talking about the way the Rangers are built the Prototype of players that they have and what Montreal currently has but to Circle back to Kirby doc I mean that’s disastrous if yes yes if if if he doesn’t pan out because then you’re really searching for answers and you might actually have to become a little bit desperate to make a move that maybe you don’t want to make well that’s it and you know I mean the answer doesn’t come from Laval even though Joshua aah had a very successful weekend with the rocket um he’s lighting it up and and speaking of lighting it up uh Jacob Fowler is off to an unbelievable start so you know if we fall back to the some of the prospects some of the players um that were talking about that Canadian fans could enjoy seeing in the next three to five years I mean that’s definitely a talking point and I want to wrap up Saturday’s 6-2 loss with this point um Brendan Gallagher Brendan Gallagher my friend um fantastic game again and to me leading by example I know the pace at on the points projected and the goals scored projected over 30 goal campaign he was on projected pace for 36 38 goals at this time last week but again um I don’t know if the reason why Gallagher and to me even Josh Anderson who’s like who never sees the Power Play not even even y armia gets out on the power play uh Josh Anderson never sees the Power Play but I’m just curious do you think Anderson and Gallagher have looked consistently good because they’re just task with like work hard play good defense be responsible if the points or goals come man that’s a bonus but we’re not counting on it like because that’s how that’s kind of how I see Gallagher season unfolding like go work hard be the Gallagher the goals come great if they don’t just work hard and you’re G to cover yourself yeah you know I think it’s a it’s it’s a matter of expectations and and listen the problem with those two guys is is not how they play hockey yeah the problem is they combin to make 11 million but if you can put that aside and I’m able to put that aside uh number one it’s not my money I’m not spending $ million on those two players and number already out yeah and and and number two the Canadians right now with those two guys under contract they’re not handicapped to make moves because of the salaries that those two guys have it’s not like we we looked at free agency this year and we thought to ourselves ah Canadians can’t sign marsho or Stam Coast because the contracts of Gallagher and Anderson are preventing them from doing that it’s like no they have space they can make moves they’re not jammed up against it so in the short term the contracts aren’t hindering the Canadians at all so people have to forget about the money sometimes do they provide the value that a 6.5 and a 5.5 million dollar player should provide no but are they contributing are they are they playing well absolutely especially Gallagher more so than Anderson Anderson I still want a little more life from you know he’s been okay I want a little more life a little more energy A Little More Jam in his game like again I I go back to trying to create a fourth line that you can throw out there that is going to bang and crash and try to change the momentum in a game like give me a fourth line of Josh Anderson Michael pizetta and and and maybe even a Florian Jacky type of guy from the Laval rocket on my fourth line rather than what they’re currently deploying and I know the Dvorak Anderson Gallagher lines very good and consistent but I I still just want to form a little bit more identity around some of these specific players on the Canadians uh the Canadians have a busy week Tuesday Wednesday Saturday Sunday is their week and uh three of those games are going to be on the road the one home game comes at you Tuesday night when they welcome in the Mikel sergachev tribute night with Utah in town 7 o’clock The Dread at 7:30 or just thereafter on on Wednesday and then Saturday Sunday they play at Rangers at Boston uh 1 o’clock Saturday 3 o’clock on on on Sunday afternoon so um figure out your NFL schedule on Sunday afternoon if you’re watching the Canadians in Boston to open up uh December and don’t forget Mitch Gallow with Shan Campbell weekdays between 10 and two on TSN 690
