we have multiple New York Yankees pitching updates and this could change everything is the New York Yankees are interested in both Tim Hill and Andrew chaen in free agency which could change everything to give him a lefty relief pitcher which they don’t have meanwhile the Yankees have also received a damning update on Roki Sasaki as they still pursue the Japanese Superstar and different pitchers to help this Bullpen or starting lineup out depending on these three guys what’s up guys welcome back to Yankees digest it’s Chris here thank you guys for 5K subscribers I mean we hit 3,000 literally 16 days ago now we’re at 5 the growth on this channel has been unbelievable we appreciate it so much but we know you guys don’t want to hear about that let’s jump into it if you guys like the content make sure to subscribe look as I said I gave the gave a little new new little boxer on myself it’s got the Yankee colors got one but let’s talk about baseball we’re not here to talk about like colors or something but look Tim Hill Andrew Traen two left-handed pitchers the New York Yankees both relief pitchers obviously the New York Yankees do not have have a lefty relief pitcher in their Bullpen as of right now they have a bunch of righties and these righties are good righties but they do not have a lefty and preferably they could get more than one now Tim Hill and Andrew Chaffin might be the two best lefted left-handed relievers on the market right now who are realistic targets for the New York Yankees I don’t see them getting both I think they will bring back Tim Hill I don’t think Andrew chaen will end up on the New York Yankees just to give you guys a little insight into what I think is going to happen but at the same time maybe they do go for both look I want more than one left-handed relief pitcher in the Yankees Bullpen I think having one is kind of weird I think you should have two you need options what if that Lefty starts to get batted around what if he has to be overused it just makes sense to add another Lefty in there and the Yankees will probably understand that and know that and we’ll probably do something in order to rectify that however we have to see where the New York Yankees go on that but as mentioned by John Heyman the Yankees are interested in both Tim Hill and Andrew Chaffin as relief upgrades in free agency now obviously again left-handed pitch it’s why they’re interested in both of them also Tim Hill was just flat out good for the New York Yankees last season Tim Hill split time between the the League’s worst Chicago White Socks or maybe MLB’s history’s worst the Chicago White sock and the League’s second best the New York Yankees he had a 3.36 ER which isn’t great out of the bullpen but is he was much better with the New York Yankees this is a case of a 34y old relief pitcher who’s been in the MLB for some time now and look it’s pretty pretty damn hard if you’re a veteran relief pitcher pitching in the bullpen of just an absolute dog water team it’s just rough to get excited for the games I shouldn’t have said dog water then said rough like a dog also I wish I could take that back I’m not restarting this video guys it’s not happening but look Tim Hill was three and 0 with the New York yanes as a relief pitcher and had an ER of 2.05 with 18 strike caps and 35 appearances Hill was very very good and the Yankees have a bunch of different left-handed starting pitchers between Carlos rodon and Max freed so they have two I don’t know why I said a bunch but they have Ron and freed who are in the starting line starting pitching lineup so that’s great especially because it’ll probably be like well you can put rhon anywhere really you could put him third you could put him fourth you could mess around with it mix those guys up so you can do righty Lefty righty Lefty you could do that obviously Garrett Cole will be the number one Max fre will be the number two and we’ll see where the New York Yankees go from there but that’s a story for another day we don’t have to discuss that right now I mean given verdon’s real good um but he might have to be third anyway but that’s not the point of the video it’s just more my own ramblings but look the New York Yankees are in position to succeed but bringing a lefty or two into the bullpen is going to help them a lot their Bullpen is very important to them it’s why they traded for Devin Williams it’s why they’ve been pretty strong with their bullpens historically last year their Bullpen was fine the Yankees like a better than fine Bullpen especially when you’re a contending team you want an elite Bullpen starters can always get batted around and obviously any type of pitcher can but it’s just good to have a bullpen and Tim Hill is a veteran guy who knows how to PCH for the New York Yankees and you know that he likes pitching for the Yankees as he was damn good at it I think it’s an obvious that the Yankees should do anything to bring back Tim hill within reason obviously again relief pitcher you could replace him but do anything within reason to bring back Tim Hill don’t get out bid by a short amount of money make sure you retain Tim Hill he was so successful with the Yankees they loved going to him in the bullpen he’s just a very very good idea of a pitcher the Yankees did make some other relief pitching upgrades obviously the trino trade netted them one of the best strikeout pitchers in baseball obviously there’s a problem with his splitter but we know that we know that Matt that Matt Blake will handle that with ease now at the same time you look at a guy like Andrew Chaffin not a bad year just not a great year as well he pitched for the Tigers until and until ending up with the Texas Rangers now who’s better with the Tigers than the Texas Rangers when he was on the Rangers his ER I want to say was a 4.12 it was over four it was just over four so obviously not a great job his whip this season was not good at all 1.4 73 70 strikeouts pretty average for him a little under average maybe look chaffin’s a fine pitcher as well these aren’t guys who it’s like oh oh the Yankees signed him but the Yankees don’t need that they need someone who could pitch with a left hand and the way that Tim Hill has succeeded with the Yankees before to me he seems like the obvious choice now all that being said I do think that Andrew chaen is someone the Yankees will probably give a good look into chaen and hail both will have other teams interested there’s only so many left-handed relief pitchers in free agency every year so the New York Yankees will be looking at multiple guys but I do love the idea of getting one of these two guys I think it would help the Yankees out a bunch relief pitching as I said it’s just so important it really is just a massive Difference Maker so often and we know the Yankees care a lot about their relief pitching so I believe we’ll see Tim Hill signed Andrew Chaffin less confident so I will want the Yankees to find another left-handed relief pitcher somewhere maybe if you can trade Marcus strowman hopefully net back a left-handed relief pitcher or something I think that’d be nice for like a nice base runner or something you’re not going to get anything real for strowman so that’s why I’m I’m not really shooting for the Stars right here still shout out Marcus romman for just being the dude now we also have to talk about none other than the man himself Roki Sasaki as the New York Yankees and New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres or san dieago as Ron bergundy might say I can’t believe I just forgot Ron bergy’s name I just watched Anchor Man 2 two days ago but again not the point I really I’m really having some add right now on this fine Saturday but look guys Roki Sasaki there’s an update John Heyman revealed that both the New York Yankees and New York Mets were given meetings with Superstar Japanese pitcher Roki suzaki but both surely understand they’re not the favorites here the Dodgers remain favored followed by the San dieago the San dieago Padres so it’s you know it’s not surprising it’s not a shock update but it is an update now the Yankees have gotten farther with Sasaki than they ever got with SH Otani who never even granted them a meeting the Yankees talked to Yamamoto but it was pretty clear from Moment One what Yamamoto wanted to do he actually did talk to the Mets for a while but it turned out it was just a leverage conversation so he could get more money from the Los Angeles Dodgers who did bite now sasaki’s a little bit different he’s 23 years old so he’s not getting some massive Yamamoto contract he’s getting one of those rookie deals so the most he could get paid is is just by a handful of teams meanwhile the Dodgers Padre’s Yankees and Mets are none of those teams the most enticing team he could go to with the most money to spend on an international rookie is the Seattle Mariners now there’s like seven other teams I mean I believe the white socks are one of them and he’s not going there I want to say the Colorado Rockies might be there as well there’s just not too many enticing options for Sasaki to take the most money and money is not the end all be all according to his agent so I don’t expect the money to really matter that much I think what matters is where is comfortable now there’s been hints that he would rather go to a small Market because the way the Japanese media treated him for essentially Sasaki treating the Japanese professional leagues as a minor league which it absolutely is and Sasaki was right to do so he wants to go to the MLB as soon as possible so he could have a better chance of showing off and that’s the right move you make more money that way sasaki’s right to do it anyone who disagrees is probably the Japanese Media or in the Japanese professional baseball league but what what can I do Sasaki on the Yankees would be absolutely downright disgusting like that would just be absurd it would be so good and the Yankees still do have a chance it him and didn’t say the Yankees are out they’re just not the favorites now I do think he’s going to end up with the San dieago Padres because the Padre’s have you Darvish sasaki’s Idol the thing is his other Idol Masahiro Tanaka is a DieHard Yankees fan who obviously pitched for the Yankees for seven years and obviously can use his Pole to try to turn Sasaki towards the New York Yankees who have had success with overseas Japanese prospects such as Hideki Matsui as well there’s real world scenarios where Sasaki does opt to not stay in the Pacific Market because he did not have the greatest experience with the media out there especially when there’s a whole lot of Japanese Spotlight on the Los Angeles Dodgers for having both yoshinobu Yamamoto and Sh Otani it would make sense that maybe Sasaki doesn’t want to deal with that or that Sasaki on the flip side wants to play with his PE and just signs with the Dodgers and no one has any fun now that would suck for so many reasons the Dodgers just get everyone it’s really really annoying unsurprisingly resigned T Oscar Hernandez it sucks because they just have everyone who’s good the Dodgers are a real bummer and they show why basball needs a salary cap now this is one of the salary cap loopholes that the Dodgers could use but that’s a bit different I hope that he goes to anywhere but the Dodgers I obviously want him on the Yankees and if you went to the Mets that would be annoying cuz Mets fans would be annoying about both so and Sasaki but it’s better than him going to the Dodgers the same thing as him going to the Padre’s is better for the Yankees that’s a national league team in the NL West the Yankees will hardly ever have to deal with Sasaki in general for the seven years that sasaki’s under the Padre’s protection so it’s or under the Padre’s control I should really say so it’s less of an issue now the New York Yankees should still go all after Sasaki and do whatever they can including bringing in Tanaka in order to try to get Saki here it’ll probably be a failed effort but they should go all systems go because if you do that and you get to trot out of pitching rotation of fregin Derek Cole Max freed rhon Sasaki Schmid I mean that’s just that’s just so good man they got to do what they can to get him I don’t think they will but it’ll be worth attempting for and I do hope the New York Yankees can figure this out however I’m not betting on them guys let me know what you think down below do the Yankees have any chance saki do you want Tim Hill back do you want Andrew Chaffin in general how many lefties do the Yankees need in the bullpen let me know down below I’ll be sure to answer you guys again thank you so much for 5,000 subscribers I know in the grand scheme of things it’s not too many but it really does make our day here at Yankees I just me Kirk Ugo it really is
