Nebraska has a massive bowl game on their hands this Saturday man that feels good to say the Huskers take on Boston College for the Pinstripe Bowl so for the last time this season I’m going to go over my official preview of this matchup what does Boston College bring to the table what does Nebraska need to do in order to win and everything else you need to know so really quick I am fired up about posting daily Husker football content breaking news and transfer portal updates that you’re going to get nowhere else on Nebraska YouTube so it’s almost Christmas if you can give me one present it’s to hit that subscribe button I’m so appreciative of all you guys happy holidays but without further Ado let’s get into it going over my last preview of the season it’s bittersweet Nebraska season is almost over but we got one more game let’s end it with a bang we are taking on Boston College this Saturday in New York City for the pinch stri Bowl the Huskers first bowl game since 2016 now talking about Boston College they went 75 this season first year head coach Bill O’Brien is their head man now since 2008 Boston College is two and seven in bowl games since that time span Nebraska is four and five so Nebraska a little bit of better record in these postseason battles now it should be noted this is the first time Nebraska and Boston College have ever faced off in the history of their program so interesting storyline but with that being said let’s get into it talking about Boston College offense first things first and what they bring to the table on that side of the ball so once again Boston College seven and5 Bill O’Brien first year coach he is an offensive Mastermind it was previously you know in the NFL was at Penn State a while ago has been with Alabama as their offensive coordinator from time to time so he’s a pretty good offensive mind but their offense has been shaky this year to say the least they started off with Thomas cost as their starting quarterback he got benched in transferred to Florida State their starting quarterback for this game will be Grayson James he only started four games this season however in those four games Boston College went three and one he only he’s only been there for one year transferred in from Florida International has threw for 900 yards this season six touchdowns and two interceptions now watching him on film honestly I like him a lot he’s a gamer he makes the big throws the big times he can run a little bit they run the Zone re on the goal line where he can again he can get in the end zone get a rushing touchdown here and there pretty good accuracy pretty good speed as well um just overall a dual threat quarterback who can do it in a multitude of ways and he’s a leader he gave this Boston College team life after you know having a poor quarterback before him um so just a guy can do a little bit of everything nothing crazy but a dual threat player who can get outside the pocket good arm strength good uh good accuracy and overall good leadership he is a decent quarterback in the future for that Boston College team getting to the running back room they have one guy who I’m really kind of worried about this is Kai robish show uh this year had 700 yards 10 touchdowns for the Eagles you know just kind of a do-it-all running back solid speed solid decision making really good burst uh just a guy who could pretty much take any run to the house so in general they have a pretty good running back room not only do they have him but they have Tran Ward who’s a Shifty third down running back had 250 receiving yards this year so we can catch passes along with 400 yards on the ground so this is kind of a big 10 oriented offense they’re going to want to run the football uh whether that’s with their running backs with their quarterback um so watch out for that in this ball game but talking about their wide receivers getting back to the passing game nothing crazy here they have Lewis Bond who led the team in receiving yard 600 yards three touchdowns kind of just a Shifty slot receiver has some good speed on him but only 5’11 their second big wide receiver is Reed Harris list that 6’5 true freshman he can go up and get has four touchdowns on the year in 450 yards and in classic Boston College fashion they have a good tight end Kamari Morales 300 yards on the Year good blocker good vertical threat had six touchdowns so watch out if they’re in the Red Zone they’re going to throw up to their tight end so honestly pretty decent offense for Boston College All Things Considered you know offensive line in the pass Pro it’s pretty bad let’s be honest with you uh they this year average 2.5 sacks a game uh given up so not a good offensive line from the pass protection standpoint Nebraska that’s going to be one of their keys to the game how can they get to the quarterback from a running standpoint they’re about top 40 in college football so not bad in the running game but Nebraska is absolutely going to try to get to the quarterback and disrupt that game plan so that’s their offense you know overall just kind of a middle of the pack offense they average 27 points in the game which is 70th overall in college football backup quarterback who’s kind of sparked some life to that group decent running back core nothing really to write home about the wide receivers nothing to write home about about the offensive line so get seven and five team that’s what you’d expect from an offense let’s get to their defense because there’s a lot of storylines Here For Better or For Worse let’s start off with the worst they have one of the best pass rushers in America goes by the name of Donovan ezu aoy I might have butchered that last time hopefully I didn’t but this is a guy who had 17 sacks this year Yes you heard me right 17 sacks 80 tackles three Force fumbles listen he’s going to be a first round draft pick one of the best Edge rushers in the country and Nebraska is going against him now besides this guy really you don’t have to be worried about anybody else on the defensive line they have cavius Hutchinson with 3.5 sacks Owen stud me 2.5 sacks so besides that one player which is number six for Boston College nothing to write home about but you got to stop number six that guy again 17 sacks 80 tackles he he’s good in the he’s good get to the quarterback he’s also good in the Run game just a gamer a guy who makes plays you got to double team do whatever it takes stop number six for Boston College one of the best Edge rushers in amer America light Becker core again average for the eagles they uh they have their leader is Donovan Crouch with 63 tackles on the year you know honestly they have a top 20 run stopping defense in all of college football only give up about 120 yards a game so watch out for that Nebraska might struggle establishing the run with kind of how poor our uh running back room has been recently and Dante Dell leaving and just some questions there so definitely not going to be our game plan to run the football with how good their run stopping defense is when it comes to that line and linebacker core but you know what we’re going to try to do air out the football looking at Boston College secondary they have one of the worst DB units in the country they have the eighth worst in power four football they give up 260 passing yards a game which is absolutely absurd so again the game plan is clear for Nebraska you want to pass this football with Dylan riyle I will say this about Boston College although their defense again here here’s one thing they can get to the quarterback with that one number six but the second thing is that they have forc turnovers while they aren’t good at stopping the pass they get interceptions they have 16 interceptions in 12 games they also have 11 Force fumbles on the year I mean this is a team that can take the ball away they’re top 20 in that department in the country so those are the two things I want you to remember about this defense the fact that yeah they’re pretty middle of the road but they have a really really really really good Edge rusher and they can take the ball away so Nebraska has to stop that want to really quickly mention their special teams usually we don’t talk about the special teams but they have one of the best special teams unit in the country particularly in the field goal kicking aspect they’ve only missed two kicks all year they went 46 for 48 so if you’re expecting them to miss a crucial kick it’s just not happening they got two kickers who are lights out all right guys I’m going to say my prediction until Friday but let’s get to my keys to the game for Nebraska how do the Huskers get this Bowl victory in their first appearance in eight years number one it’s simple shut down number six that edge rusher for Boston College he’s a be he’s a first round draft pick 17 sacks in the season I don’t care what it takes chip him block him double team him just make sure he does not touch number 15 for the Huskers that’s Dylan RI make sure he has a clean pocket number two air out the football you got a terrible secondary in Boston College you know Dylan R has been waiting for a Breakout game jayen Lloyd starting for the Huskers the running back room for Nebraska has some questions so with that being said air out the football throw it a lot uh this needs to be the ri Breakout game number three protect the football again Boston College takes it away don’t throw interceptions two hands on the football make sure you don’t fumble it you don’t want to give him any opportunities any life number four you got to limit the quarterback for Boston College that’s Grayson James that guy can make plays he’s a playmaker he’s not the best quarterback in the world but he is clutch and he can get outside the pocket and really he got some Patrick Mahomes to him so listen limit him uh make them run the football because I I feel confident about Nebraska’s run stopping abilities and then number five simple key dominate this football game listen first bowl game in eight years years we’re going to New York City let’s Silence the Critics go with there and dominate kick butt let’s get it down let’s have a winning season and let’s Get Hype going into next year so all right guys I’m fired up about Saturday that is my
