Now we move on to the New York Mets so this part two we’re talking about the Heavy Hitters the bigger team so it’s probably going to get more views this video compared to part one but go check out part one we talk about Kevin Newman we talk about Travis darno we talk about Mike talkman so go check that out but Klay Holmes the New York Mets sign him a starting pitcher SL relief pitcher what do the Mets get the Mets are going to potentially reportedly try to make him a sty pitcher but a three-year $38 million contract that contract does indicate the meds do want to try to make him a starter 3 years $38 million is a lot for any reliever nonetheless Klay Holmes who’s been good but it’s still Klay Holmes he’s 32 years old last three years Klay Holmes has a lot of on his name Klay Holmes is not a closer he is a very high-end Bullpen arm last three years 189 189 Innings pitch a 2a5 year not a lot of Bullpen guys can say they’ve done that Klay Holmes has one of the best sinkers in baseball and last year he really started to use his slider a lot more it was a a pitch that he was using I think around 45ish per of the time Klay Holmes typically in the past was Sinker Sinker Sinker around 80 85% of the time last year he he really looked like a different pitcher where he could go slider slider slider three times in a row that’s something you did not see from Klay Holmes but regardless he’s got really great stuff and we’ll see what the Mets do with him as a starter he’s a question mark as a starter I’m not sure if he’s going to work out as a starter but we’ll see what the Mets pitching staff can do with him and take a chance and at the worst at a floor you have a good Bullpen arm in Kay Holmes and the Mets also need both pen pieces so the next move the Mets do address they have a real starting pitcher and Frankie Monas even though he’s got question marks Frankie Montas is a real starter 32 years old a two-year $34 million contract also Klay Holmes I would give that a I’m going to give that a neutral grade Frankie Monas is this signing I I don’t want to give any moves thumbs down see I Frankie Montas I like him a lot I I’m going to give this one thumbs down I am I think this is an overpay for Frankie Montas and I I again I like Frankie montos like last year I really wanted the Yankees to resign Frankie really wanted the Yankees to resign Frankie montos I think at his best Frankie montos is a very fun durable pitcher to watch I think he’s one of those like just dogs I’m going with six Innings I’m going 115 pitches he’s just not that good when you look at his numbers he’s a fourth or fifth starter um and again it’s a a lot of money for a guy who has question marks and has not really produced he’s had injuries uh recently so I don’t think this is a a great move for the Mets they need starting pitching so um I we’ll see how montal works out I mean the Mets I doubted their pitching last year I doubted the pitching last year guess what sebie stepped up uh Shawn maniah stepped up and and their rotation was able to bring them to the NLCS so one of my favorite signings of the off season guess who it is it’s Jose Siri the New York Mets pick up Jose Siri he’s 29 years old they pick him up in a trade uh with the Tampa Bay Rays Jose Siri is a great pickup for the Mets in my opinion play great defense in center field he provides great energy and he’s one of the fastest players in Major League Baseball and people forget Jose Siri in 2023 had a 494 slugging percentage Jose seir I don’t think he’s the best hitter I don’t think he’s the best player in general but I if the Mets have a good lineup with Juan stto Francisco Lindor you got pet Alonzo coming back potentially Mark Vientos Brandon nmo they have that really great lineup at the top you put Jose seir in the nine hole and let him pick it out there in center field provide energy Jose seir is a great player again similar I I I’ve said this so many times to Kevin km on the Tampa Bay Rays if you have a center fielder that can pick it put him in the bottom of the lineup have that lineup have some Heavy Hitters and you have that defense first center fielder that’s a good contact good clutch hitter which I think Jose SII can be I think he’s going to be a very productive New York Met that’s what I’ll say I think this is a two thumbs up for the New York Mets the next move that the New York Mets did in fact make they they they signed Juan stto they signed Juan sto to a 15-year 765 million contract what what thumb grade do we give this move Juan stto going to the New York Mets he’s 26 years old and he’s a good hitter I would consider him this a two thumbs up man but juano is a generational hitter as we know he’s a winner at age 26 he’s got a career career 421 on base percentage in 2024 he had the highest slugging percentage of his entire career in Yankee Stadium a 569 slugging percentage in 2021 notably at a 465 on base percentage playing 157 games I think it was this guy’s such a good hitter day-to-day basis there’s no better hitter than Juan SoDo there’s no guy that’s gonna not go into slumps as often as Juan SoDo he never never looks confused never looks off Ed as a hitter there’s I mean like you look at the top hitters every single hitter has moments and has games where they don’t look comfortable they look silly they look foolish especially I mean we talk about great power hitters which juano had 41 home runs last year Bryce Harper Aaron judge yordan Alvarez uh shotani all of these guys looked foolish they’ve gone 0 for four 0 for five with three four strikeouts you don’t see that with juano he does not do that he is such a perfect hitter and this is a sign that the Mets are are unfuckwitable when it comes to Steve Cohen’s bank account no one can with us man we can get whoever the we want we have the money to get whoever the shout out to the New York Mets great move um and and they they got jua from the New York Yankees
