so in this New York Yankees news and rumors video I am going to be talking about all things Yankees pertaining to the 20242 MLB off season the latest the latest Yankees regarding free agency basically all things Yankees I’m going be going over in this video let’s get right into it so the first Yankees news item for today actually talks about a potential trade that could be happening this off season for Cody Bellinger of the Chicago Cub so uh John Heyman one of the best in the business um tweeted out on X which says Cody Bellinger would be a great fit for the Yankees since he’s very good at first base and a very solid center fielder option as well uh but for now there’s a gap on the dollars Cubs don’t want to eat any of it Yankees think they should Bellinger guaranteed $52.5 million over the next two years with an opt out after 2025 so after the Yankees made a pretty big time Splash yesterday getting Max free to an 8-year contract for about $27 $28 million per season they could be very well shifting their attention towards the trade market uh for a for a bat to replace the loss of lonto who obviously went to the Cross toown Rivals the New York Mets now Cody Bellinger is a name that Yankees fans know pretty well as he is a player that has been of interest to them in the past uh prior to signing with the uh Chicago cups a couple years ago the Yankees were also interested in signing him to a one or two-year contract so could this be coming full circle uh with him potentially being a Yankee it very well could but the biggest I guess separation here between both sides is the dollars and cents right the Yankees of course want to save some money and not take on the full contract whereas if you are the Cubs you want to sort of get off that contract as best as you can and you don’t want to take on any money um in return but Cody Bellinger is a pretty solid player not the best year for him last year compared to the year prior in Chicago but last year for Cody Bellinger in 2024 he put up a 2.2 War season 137 hits 18 home runs a 266 batting average 72 runs scored 78 rpis nine stolen bases and on base of 325 a 426 slug an LS of 751 and an LS plus of 111 so for Cody Bellinger who’s going to be 30 years old during the 20125 campaign this guy has shown flashes in the past of being a very talented player you know as I mentioned before in 2023 Cody Bellinger was a tremendous player one of the best in all of baseball right so if you were to go to the Yankees positionally speaking it makes a lot of sense in regards to his age as well it makes a lot of sense as well the only risk I guess I could see here is his opt out after 2025 so could of course be another wano situation obviously not to the same standards as Juan SoDo but if Cody Bellinger walks after one year that could be pretty tough but if he struggles he’s obviously going to opt into that contract uh because of the dollars that he’s going to want in 2025 and Beyond so Cody bellry could be a nice constellation prize for the subtraction um of woto his age his versatility and the fact that he can be like a 25 plus home run guy especially if you were go especially if you were to go to Yankee Stadium this could be a pretty good fit so finding a first base option or an outfielder option to replace wotto might be in the cards for the Yankees could it be in the form of Cody Bellinger well according to John Heyman it very well could be so shifting gears to the free agency market I want to talk about the Yankees potentially having interest in a former talented player not So Much Anymore uh that’ be Tim Anderson so MLB scoops on X tweeted out the New York Yankees have interest in shortstop Tim Anderson to fulfill a backup role so if this would have been let’s just say 2021 or 2022 this would have been big news but the last couple years for Tim Anderson have been pretty disastrous this past year in Miami for was pretty ugly he had a negative 1.5 War season 50 hits zero home runs a 214 batting average a 16 runs scored nine RBI four stolen bases and on base of 237 a slugging percentage of two 226 an Ops of 463 and get this an Ops plus of 27 so Tim Anderson definitely not the player that he once was back in his All-Star days but could he potentially come to the Yankees on a super cheap one-year contract provide some infield stability uh and more of a utility role I guess it’s possible is it possible as well that he regains his form and can be you know potentially be an All-Star player with the Yankees I wouldn’t count on it but it definitely could be um a factor if he were to go there potentially so this infield for the Yankees could definitely use some work as of right now according to Fan graphs the depth chart for this team would see Jazz Chisum at third um it would see Ben rice at first it would see Caleb Durban at second and it would also see in regards to an infield it’s not super ideal there I think Tim Anderson defensively speaking I guess could bring some value but offensively speaking this guy is a shell of himself so I probably wouldn’t get into the Tim Anderson business myself if I were the Yankees but like could they be going for like a one-year contract for a few million bucks and kind of take a flyer on them it’s very possible so the Yankees want to add some more depth to their team especially in regards to the Outfield and the uh you know specific spots in the infield as well so in regards to Tim Anderson being like a minor option for them I guess it’s possible but is it going to happen I wouldn’t count on it but the very least it’s being reported out there so uh could the Yankees be signing to Anderson I guess we’ll find out so not talking about some bigger names here I want to talk about Alex bregman and sort of the more Buzz that’s kind of speculating uh with him going to the Yankees as a real possibility happening this offseason so Brian hul on Twitter or X tweeted out hearing more Buzz connecting the Yankees to Alex bregman the interest is real so after signing Max freed and establishing their presence in the starting pitching Market the Yankees have to address their infields and their Corner Outfield as well and they have to bring a bat to this lineup now Alex bregman’s not the player that he once was last year for Houston was still a pretty good year relatively speaking but for his standards it was a bit of a step back um Alex bregman had a 4.1 more season 151 hits 26 home runs a 260 batting average uh 79 runs scored at 75 RBI three stolen bases and a basee of 315 a slugging percentage of 453 an LS of 768 and an LS plus of 118 so Alex bregman is going to be 31 years old next year could he be in line for like a seven or an eight year deal he very well could be just sort of given how the market has unfolded this off season and Alex bregman definitely solidifies a good spot in this Yankees team in regards to their infield so as I touched on a little bit earlier if bregman were to go over to the Yankees and play third base for example this could provide some more flexibility uh for someone like jazz Chisum to play second perhaps and sort of replace gaver Taurus’s impact that way so Yankees in my opinion have to address Third Base they have to address first base as well as address you know right field I think they could be definitely doing this um by getting Alex bregman who defensively speaking he’s a very solid player he has Championship experience as well and he’s a player that you would love to have on your team and you hate to play against so Alex bregman could actually be a pretty solid player you can even throw him at Short Stop as well if you want to throw Anthony vulp somewhere else in the infield so if y he’s going to go big game hunting in regards to Big Fish in free agency Alex bregman could definitely be that guy is it going to happen I guess only time will tell but Brian Hulk one of the more credible Yankees reporters in baseball is reporting the interest is definitely there so the Yankees are definitely going to make a big splash whether that’s going to be on the trade market or in free agency that is I guess yet to uh be determined but could it be Alex bregman it very well could be we’ll keep an eye on this if I hear anything else I’ll keep you guys updated I’m moving a little bit more forward so that’s sort of building off a report that came out yesterday and that is linking KY F Tucker to the Yankees in regards to a potential Louise Hill trade heading back to Houston so a foul territory on X tweeted out the New York Yankees could possibly trade Rookie of the Year Luis Hill for Kyle Tucker says Ken Rosenthal so Ken Rosenthal has been all over this um the possibility of Kyle Tucker actually getting traded seems more and more likely each and every day uh the two team the two teams that I’ve seen reported I guess most interestedly in his Services would be the Cubs and the Yankees the Cubs would have some sort of package around seya Suzuki and Isaac Paredes whereas Luise Hill um could definitely be sort of the main piece going back to Houston from the Yankees so especially with the max fre signing the possibility of a pitcher being moved this off season for the Yankees could definitely be you know actually happening I would keep an eye on Marcus strowman I guess Lis Phil coming off the Rookie of the Year um title last year that’s pretty impressive his value is pretty high and he’s not making very much money so could this be a little addition by subtraction by bringing on Max freed subtracting Louis Hill but then upgrading that for Kyle Tucker all of a sudden the Yankees are kind of back and Kyle Tucker is a tremendous player one of the best in all baseball he said to become a free agent at the conclusion of next season so C Tucker sort of like ju stto could definitely be in line for a big time payday last year for Kyle Tucker and Houston he had a 4.7 War season 80 hits 23 home runs a 289 batting average a 56 runs scored 49 RBI 11 stolen bases and on base of 408 585 Slug and Ops of 993 and an Ops plus of 181 so one of the best players in all baseball in the Outfield um he’s only 20 he’s going to be 28 years old in 2025 so this guy has a tremendous amount of time left in his MLB career uh you know in in regards to being a talented dominant player so if think he want to make a big time Splash getting Max freed and trading for KY Tucker would definitely be a step in the right direction and this team would be an absolute wagon heading into 2025 in my personal opinion so could Cal Tucker actually be on the move it seems likely could it beat to the Bronx bombers well we’ll find out so that is going to be it for this video thanks again for watching make sure to leave all your
