y’all we’re on video number seven of the day Nebraska football can’t stop dropping breaking news it was just announced that Garr Maguire has been fired by the Huskers he’s not expected to be retained so in today’s video I’m going to go over what is this mean for the Huskers of course firing your wide receivers coach and why is this good news for every Husker fan so really quick video number seven without further Ado let’s get into it talking about Garrett Maguire now it was just announced officially by Rivals that Garrett Maguire has been fired by Nebraska of course Dana hogerson is now the official offense coordinator and that was the first move he made as the official offense coordinator was to no longer employ Garrett Maguire this is not shocking this is a really good move the wide receivers were horrendous this year man let’s be completely honest the wide receivers were horrendous they had a dropping problem they had a blocking problem they couldn’t beat man coverage and that was what Dana hogerson talked about the second he got at Nebraska he was very honest he s in his press conference it’s pathetic how these big wide receivers who are 6’4 63 they can’t block he was very blunt he also said that there were some guys playing a wide receiver who shouldn’t be playing and that there’s some younger guys who should have been you know so again this is not shocking I’m really I was really frustrated with these wide receivers I think Jamal Banks was underutilized this is a guy who I thought would have been a really good high draft pick in the NFL I don’t think it was his problem I don’t think he was utilized the right way Isaiah ner was a guy who was completely underwhelming you know the best wide receiver we had was jakori Barney who was a true freshman so Garrett Maguire was a bad hire from the beginning I mean let’s be real shame on Matt rule that was a complete gamble Garrett Maguire is 24 years old he never played the wide receiver position he was a quarterback in college why why would Matt R possibly make that move and think that was going to work out clearly it hasn’t Garrett Maguire has been let go Nebraska’s coaching staff’s going to look completely different next year imagine he might not be the last how does this impact the recruitment though of G of Michael Terry and Cortez Mills I I think it impacts it a little bit to be honest with you though Jamar mosy is a guy who I want to be the next wide receiver coach of Nebraska um hopefully they do promote him but this is again not something you want to happen two days until Signing Day again Cortez Mills just posted on his Instagram story something about oklah he’s not confirming that he’s going to stay with Oklahoma but that’s it doesn’t look great there and again I already told you guys that yeah while things are looking good at the time for Cortez Mills we’ve seen a lot of last second switches in you know college recruiting nowaday especially with nil doesn’t look great there Michael Terry doesn’t look great you know I was really feeling good about Michael Terry until I spoke with him on Saturday um and he said something along the lines of you know him and the coaching staff have have to figure out something I’m not I don’t think it’s over there but things aren’t looking good I’ll reveal everything you know on Wednesday whether he’s signs or whether he not signs Nebraska um so I think Garr McGuire leaving kind of hurts recruiting Jamar mosy is a guy though who is a really good recruiter I want him to be the next receivers coach anyways but um definitely some significant news here with G McGuire you know this this had to happen though it had to happen that he had to go because this dude was not doing his job he was not a good developer he you know he was good at zero aspects besides recruiting you know I actually wouldn’t have minded if they kept him on the stat just for recruiting it looks like that’s not going to be the case looks like they fired him uh Daniel hogerson call there was go you’re making some big boy decisions give Jamar mosy an opportunity because this guy’s a good recruiter he’s a good developer and I want him to be the next wide receivers coach currently an analyst with the Huskers so that’s the update there seventh video of the day man I don’t know we might do one more depending on if there’s some more breaking news but that’s what’s going on again good move by all intensive purposes perfectly fine with him not being here next year hopefully doesn’t impact Cortez Mills or Michael Terry as negatively as I think it does but let’s be real it probably will impact them negatively with two days of signing it’s just it’s a lot that’s happening in a crucial situation where we have two days where these guys are making very very big decisions I just don’t know if they’ll Gamble and pick Nebraska at this point so all right guys let me know your thoughts G McGuire no longer with the team let me know in the
