his home yeah uh week 12 in the books yep we got one game going on give it to him that’s it well give him the score let’s go 274 Eagles have just taken a two touchdown lead two touchdown lead they scored a long touchdown run to start the third quarter with saquon Barkley first play Rams drove back down scored a touchdown Eagles scored right answered right back uh big screen pass the saquon Barkley and a third down and then gainwell ran it in for the touchdown so they’re up 2714 like you said uh go ahead say what did you just call the Eagles too did I call you labeled them oh you you’re talking about before we came on air before we came on air uh well I think I’ve said this a little bit but I believe the Eagles are the second best team in football no but even well I said the most explosive the most explosive simple team I’ve ever seen in my life I don’t know if you said that before yeah I I don’t know if I have said that before you’re right because they are simple right and it it’s not a complex formula as far as the plays they run they know how to package them pretty well they know who they are you can’t really play a defense that can trick them on one of those plays because they’re like wait we don’t run a whole lot of plays so we know how to run them against every defense and block it the right way and then of course we know saquin AJ Brown Devonte Smith went healthy the tight ends I mean they got everything I mean saquan it is truly an All-Star team could win the MVP like that narrative is growing by the week I and then you talk about tonight and we’re sitting here right now and he’s probably what he’s at 152 yards on 16 carries if he goes for 200 tonight the you’re going to hear we’re going to hear major sequin the MVP talk all week that’s where we’re getting at uh and I think we’re getting to that time of year we talked about it’s week 12 you are who you are that’s pretty much holding true a lot of good games on Mon on on Sunday the 1:00 games especially like kind of were dull for at first and you were like H nothing great here and then we got into the second half and like the fourth quarter of some of these games and they were incredible they really were and uh as always we’ll break them all down so we got upset alert we have almost upset alert we had some near upsets as well stop the fight some blowouts out there some teams that have separated eles from the rest of the pack give me the headlines we look back on Thursday and a preview of Monday that is our promise to the homies each and every Sunday we will talk about every game that has happened in the NFL so we’ll start with the upset alert and this one was a shock what a weird ending in the fourth quarter I think the Cowboys scored 24 and the commanders scored 17 just in the fourth quarter alone and all that seemed like in the last three minutes Cowboys get the upset 34-26 and yes everyone is kind of focusing on the craziness at the end of the game and we will too but even before that I feel like it was a shock because this was a game where despite what happened the last three minutes you’re right the Cowboys had this game you were almost relating to say it cuz you’re like wait am I about to really say this how did it happen but yes they they were better for most of this game they were they they controlled the flow of the football game I think you’re saying that right you know it was a crazy game altogether There Was You Know special teams Miss cues Miss field goals block field goals early on I mean it was really a defensive struggle for all those who didn’t see the football game when we were in the third quarter at one point the end of the third quarter it was 10 to9 the game ended up 34 to 26 so you can tell that the in the fourth quarter the the game took a total right-and turn in a different direction I mean with 814 to go it was 13 to n it’s it was incredible but I think you know cowboys they had a good first drive they had the field goal blocked commanders got a field goal then the Cowboys drove down for another good drive to your point where he was like hey wait they’re moving the ball and that would be the first thing I would say is Mike McCarthy won the matchup between Dan Quin right two former coaches that were on the same staff I think McCarthy showed greater skill and I know what you do rather than Quinn going oh I can stop that they moved the ball so I had a block field goal to start the game and then missed the field goal on the second Drive of the game to where you thought oh wow it’s just going to be one of these days the Cowboys are just going to screw it up then the commanders came down and missed their own field goal then the Cowboys fumbled a few plays later then the commanders blocked a punt okay this is how crazy this game was and then a few plays Jaden Daniels doing an interception on a screen half that was the end of the half that was the H first half of football and I wrote this down verbatim so just because I was like this is so crazy I got to write it down then the second half it started to pick up a little bit uh the commanders though as we’ve seen here and a problem with them and something that we’ve talked about a lot on this podcast and you know where I think I’m going to go with this one a little bit is finding explosive place in the P game right now is a problem it’s it’s it’s a four-week problem right now and it’s the time of the year where you and I and our working history together have gone huh are people catching up to Cliff Kingsbury’s offense here once again and that’s what I worry about and I think there’s signs of that and and showing that here right away now the Cowboys though back to them did find ways to run the ball a little bit today which I’ve not seen them do and found some ways to push the ball down the field with Cooper Rush he certainly looked the most comfortable he’s looked all year that that that’s that was one good or one thing that that jumped out and the big play to me that jump start started on their offense was he threw a bomb to 83 Brooks that got him a field goal before the half and that’s where I felt like they kind of settled in and then he had a little confidence from there commanders the commanders get the touchdown go up 93 to start the the second half but Dallas didn’t blink they kind of answered right back and uh like I said they had good balanced drives kind of got the ball to everybody used the tight ends got CD lamb the ball a little bit but I think the most impressive thing was they ran the ball D which I did not expect to see in this matchup and overall it was just a good showing by the Cowboys offense yeah they were a little bit like three yards in a cloud of dust because their longest run of the day was nine yards by dle there but they did end up with nearly 100 in the game so we have the passing chart for for Cooper rush and what he was able to do they got the ball out real quick because next gen stats has the average time to throw it was 2.38 seconds for Rush here it was the quickest by a Cowboys quarterback in a game this season so they were trying they were working around the line of scrimmage getting the ball out quick but it was effective well I think it was effective it’s Wasington is not a great man-to-man football team Washington likes the Blitz and pressure and they were probably like let’s not mess with anything and get Cooper Rush Strip sack fumble and stuff like that right so let’s just play high percentage football and you know again I think what we’re see too is Washington with the great start and it really was and I give them a lot of credit I just don’t think they’re a super super talented football team you think it’s over well I don’t think it’s over but I’m just saying I think we’re back to where we probably should be right this is where they are they’re this kind of team they wer seven- two type of Team well seven and five even is a vast what I mean it’s a great Improvement we would all go before the year go oh they’re seven and five wow they’ll take that but I don’t know if they would have took that if they knew they were seven and two first right that’s get greedy it gets greedy and you know things are starting to go downhill a little bit like we talked about on the offensive side of the ball we’re having too many games where Jaden Daniels is leading the team and rushing here all the sudden right and those are the things that we’ve talked about that we were impressed with Washington then able to run the ball yeah they’ve been able to be surgical on offense for most of the year but now people are starting to slow down the surgical and now you got to start making some plays and pushing the ball down the field and they got enough Talent of course to do that and that guy a quarterback and you just don’t see enough of it in their offense and that’s what concerns me they do have a favorable little schedule here coming up because they got the Titans and then they got a bye to try to fix some more things and they got at New Orleans so this is a good time in the schedule for them to kind of re-evaluate and maybe get things back on the track especially before that that buy but um but yeah they were seven and two now they’re there’s they’ve there’s three losses have been by a total of 17 points um you want to get into the end of the game there anything there because they did have the one explosive play and the Cowboys I had no idea what they were doing on the Terry McClaren 80 plus yard touchdown it it’s you know it’s it’s crazy um there’s mistakes of course by Washington throughout the day whether it was baates fumbling the ball the Cowboys go up 10 to n and Washington looks like they’re about to move the little ball the ball a little little bit and uh I can’t remember 87 I think it’s John Bates is a tight end he fumbles over the middle of the field and that really is the point where it started to sway things back into the Cowboys favor and the Cowboys went up 20 to n right then yeah they start to storm back we saw the Washington Commander storm back and do all that make it 20 to 17 and then let’s get into it here so it’s 20 to 17 Daniels made some big throws to get the TD to make it that score and you go okay here we go we’re in a game Washington is getting late man can Dallas keep driving the ball and doing that it just feels like Washington’s about to walk them down and come back and win this game and then Kon kavante turban Returns the kickoff so I think we have the dots of that 2.35 miles an hour that was the third fastest top speed on a kickoff return this season which I I would be disappointed if I was him I would want the top spot but top three for him and here’s the dots if you I mean the the fact that he dropped it and you do see some of those happens a lot it screws everyone up when they drop it or fumble it or muff it a bit right I I heard the announcers say that during the game and I was like I couldn’t agree more well what happens is again football players at times are Meatheads like we know and they are a little bit like you know Chase the ice cream Chuck or chase the rabbit whatever you want to say oh Ball’s on the ground all I hear from my coaches get the ball get the ball right so then you leave your lane you oh I’m supposed to stay right here or I was supposed to stay in between these two guys and and and be in in control of that g Gap and you lose that integrity and all of a sudden now things are off and then the guy makes one good move and it’s like oh gosh he’s gone and nobody’s even going to touch him and nobody touched him and that was the start of our craziness cuz they went up 2717 and you thought again okay now the game’s over Washington goes on a good little drive to get a field goal they make the stop on Dallas okay get the ball back and then they have the crazy oneplay 86 yard touchdown to the mclen Y which was horrible defense by Dallas the corner on the right side jordane Lewis I I don’t know what he was doing he played a guy in the flat and then they didn’t even touch him there so we saw two long touchdowns of like 100 yards and 80 yards and nobody got touched in a two-and touch football game yeah and you go wow 27 26 well the Cowboys are just idiots and they’re going to tie this up and Washington’s going to win in overtime and they missed the extra point cyber does not make that so I I don’t want to be yeah hindsight 2020 second guess guy okay let’s do it but here you are you know 30 seconds left right you have just come back you now down one right and he goes for one right so going to overtime does not mean that you yeah are going to win the game you’re going to lose it 50% of the time now you might think you’re the better team but the Cowboys have played right with you and arguably were the better team for this entire game so I I do think that if I was the head coach in those situations that’s the one you would have gone for there I think it’s a 50-50 chance either way you either go 50/50 win in overtime or you go 50/50 and you get the two-point conversion I think I’d go too I know what you I know what you mean um I think the what what it is and I don’t disagree with really like your logic there yeah I just don’t think Dan Quinn saw the logic the same way he’s thinking we are the better team we are starting to move the ball they are Cooper Rush right let’s just extend the game and keep playing I believe we’ll stop messing up and and figure this out here which it kind of showed signs cuz they controlled the fourth and made some big plays and did all that but but I I I hear your point I do but I think that’s a tough one there in that situation and I think also too what maybe adds to it is like it’s the 80 yard touchdown it’s the craziness oh wait now guys shut up we got to get another two-point conversion there’s a little bit of just hecticness too that I think is makes a coach reluctant to just go no let’s just take the lead here let’s see if we can ride some moment or tie or take the take the tie here and see if we can ride this momentum and we feel like our back if we play in overtime he’ll make a few plays and Cooper Rush won’t beat us I’m guessing that’s what their logic I wonder what percentage of teams would have made that same decision I’m curious about that but you’re right it is hard you feel like you have the momentum at that point to let’s get him into seen the Cowboys be crappy really for the last five weeks for the most part and you’re going I have a special quarterback I think we’re going to win this football game I understand Dan quin’s decision totally all right so Cowboys still not going to the playoffs no but uh M Parson said to Maria Taylor we’re not dead yet no so that implies that they will die at some point but not yet not yet not yet the Titans Titans are not dead yet either they will live to fight another week a few more weeks after this one they beat the Texans 32- 27 um so this is just the second game this season that the Tennessee Titans have scored 21 points they’ve won both of those so we found the magic for the Tennessee Titans score three touchdowns uh what what do you make of this one I you’ve been you’ve been disappointed by the Houston Texas the entire year yeah and let’s continue that disappointment because it’s it’s not an impressive I mean they might the NFC South AFC South we know that it’s not a great division so so yeah that that’s for sure but I don’t sit here and go the Texans are a real good football team I just go hey they’re they’re a borderline playoff football team that’s what I look at that’s what they are now they’re probably a definite playoff team because of the division again but I’m just you know what I’m talking about here yeah they’re not playing quality playoff football whether it’s turnovers again still protection issues we see that they couldn’t the ball today and then I think the biggest shock today to me was their defense just absolutely getting carved up by Will Levis and Tony Pard I mean for the most part of the day the Titans they did what they wanted they might not have ended up in touchdown drives but they moved the ball changed field position got in field goal position did all that and then did make a few big plays and I think that’s what I was surprised by more than anything in the fact of this game where Houston’s defense has kind of been the steady Edy part of their football team as the offense has been all over the place and today we saw Will Levis and Company and and Brian Callahan tear it up and Texans fans probably saying well you know will Levis he was bound to have a game where he didn’t throw a pick six no he did throw a pick six in this one and they still won the football game by five we got Macy classy that said D or maybe it’s Massy classy actually sorry about that Massie damn okay will Levis has been really good since returning from injury what you what’ you make of will Levis 18 to 24 278 and a couple touchdowns he he’s makes a lot of wow plays right he still too many like what what I said about like Brock py last week too many wo plays like where it’s like whoo like what why why did you throw that or why did you take that sack but they’re clearly a more explo explosive team of the him at quarterback compared to Mason Rudolph or any of that and there’s still a lot of potential to be untapped here too I still think this is a guy that’s kind of learning to play the quarterback position and the nuances of it you know when to take the sack when to throw the ball away when to take a chance down the field when to just go know what I’m not going to take take a chance I’m going to tuck it and run it whatever I still think he’s kind of fighting through that type of stuff uh as we see it but again I do see the talent and I see the toughness that’s the other thing that jumps out about will Levis he will stand in that pocket and have people hit him he got crushed today a few times in this football game he stands in too long sometimes he had sacks it was denal Hunter had three of them will Anderson Jr had a couple of them so Houston did get some some pressure on him um just not enough so CJ stoud too he had such a great year last year and I think it was Matt Casey that was on our text chain it was just like man he’s chunking some into the ground and I didn’t see a lot of plays from this game and I know he was well CJ was pressured as well but he doesn’t look as accurate as he did last year well I think he’s uncomfortable and I don’t know how he wouldn’t be right this goes into the deeper issues of some of the things we’ve talked about again this is where not only the protection about like the jimmies and the Joe’s got to block the guys the right way they need to teach him more about protection right the great quarterbacks like we’ve talked about right now in the league whether it’s you know momes burrow Allen right the guys that take control at the line of scrimmage more right Lamar is awesome he’s the MVP but he doesn’t quite do the same things at the line of scrimmage as those guys do like go back to Tom Brady or Payton Manning those kind of players right they they know exactly what the protection is every play he’s in a scheme a little bit right now where they just go trust the center he knows what’s going on and that’s not always a comfortable way like that’s cool as a quarterback cuz you’re like wait I don’t have to think about anything but when teams start to go wait I don’t think they fig they can’t figure it out let’s Blitz them from every angle you’re dropping back like wait are do I trust the center did he protect us right and and if I’m not protected where do I go with the ball here and I think that’s a big part of it so think about like you know it wouldn’t be easy to talk talk clearly on TV if they were like 4 seconds before you came on the screen they’re like hey we want to talk about this this this this hurry up Ahmad ammed sound like a professional announcer that’s where I think he is a little bit where he’s he’s dropping back he’s looking under the corner of his eye he’s checking that out and then he’s like wait let me look downfield and they’re just off-kilter let alone he’s getting hit a lot too and there’s people not open all the time so I think it’s all a little bit of a a snowball issue right there it was a great game to watch but like I said and strad made a lot of great throws he made some big time throws he really did but that’s all there is right now in their team yeah you know you hope we’ve seen mix been able to run the ball but right now it just feels like yeah stad and Nico and tank Dell got to make it happen and uh yeah I don’t like the look of the way the Texans look right now yeah they had a score late got called back because of a penalty I think it was on Mixon there who had a bad day too averaged 1 G they could not get that run game going at all exactly couldn’t get it going at all and and and with all this said they could have kicked a field goal at the end of the football game to tie it a point blank 28 yard field goal right so all of that said uh but still it’s not about today it’s not about that it’s about the big picture of the Houston Texans and I think that’s what we’re talking about here and for their defense to get gashed the way it did and again for us to be talking about Stroud and the pressure and the inconsistency inconsistencies and all that how many weeks in a row has this been I mean it’s been what five six weeks well I mean right I mean even in their wins we were starting to talk about oh I didn’t love the way that looked right and I think that’s a problem here going forward we’ll see where it goes but they certainly got to get some things fixed on on that offensive side of the ball still so we have talked about two seven and five teams here already Washington and Houston which team do you like better right now the way they’re playing right now I think I like Washington better still I I think I would go there you know I see less dysfunctional plays from Washington’s offense I see a lot of plays from Houston where I go whoa I mean he had no chance like that guy either got run over at L guard or they didn’t block it the right way so that’s where that that scares me now I like Houston’s defense better than Washington but I still think I’m going to go back to that offensive part and that’d be the tiebreaker for me uh overall but yeah I just the Levis making big throws the Calvin Ridley the Pard runs the chigo cono One play we run a bootleg I mean they ran a normal bootleg like the play like is the first hey this is our first boot leg we put in a training camp right this is it it was the basic play like guy in the flat a guy behind him Crossing he threw it to chiga quano nobody was in the screen he ran 70 yards for a touchdown I mean that’s just that’s crazy to me and it’s just uh yeah it’s a shame what’s happening with the Texans right now it was a shocker so those were the two Shockers Cowboys and Titans getting the win we almost had a couple of other Shockers near Shockers this is the almost upset alert section of the podcast we’ll start with a divisional matchup in the NFC North the Vikings the Bears they go to overtime Parker Romo with a game-winning 29 yard field goal in overtime Chicago and Caleb making some plays at the end of regulation have no idea how they did some of that stuff um so what’ you make just first of all what you make of the Vikings being in a close one here the Bears showing some guts and coming back well yeah I think there’s there’s there a lot of good to see on both sides here like another game where I’d go it felt like the Vikings were the better team right the Bears made some good plays in the fourth quarter clutch whatever ball bounced their way a few times too needed an onside kick needed an onside kick right they keep fighting Caleb Williams again I think it’s two weeks in a row you could say he played really well he did a lot of good things and I don’t like the fact that again he’s leading his team in passing and rushing we’ve been saying that a little too much lately okay but with all that is he still does he miss a throw every now and then sure but man I’m just telling you he made throws a few throws in the game today that I’m just as you’ve heard me say before there’s only like a few people in football that can make it he made some jaw-dropping wow plays he did but I think all in all yeah again they were fortunate to be able to climb back into this game they showed some tough and some resilience to make it you know a 272 24 game like you said he got the field goal but I think the the other thing of this is the Bears the one thing we’ve been able to count on is their defense and that got torn apart today too I mean the game started with the Minnesota marching down the field and then Aaron Jones got stripped going into the End Zone on the one yard line to start the game I don’t even know you probably didn’t see that probably flying back still from Yankee Stadium yeah yeah I drove last night so yeah yeah but no either way uh I thought the other thing about Minnesota that I liked about the football game and I think has to be a little bit more of a theme for them going forward yeah Justin Jefferson can’t be the first read in the offense all game every game it can’t be every place for Justin Jefferson and I felt like today they called some plays where they were like no Justin Jefferson’s the second read we’re going to let Jordan addson or hackinson be that guy and it can equally I think it’s going to equally make them even more they’re equally as dangerous is what I’m trying to say but I think they’ll be more dangerous going forward if teams have to start worrying about the other guys being the first read and a focal point of some plays there yeah it’s funny to say that because the the best statline for the Vikings might be the fact that Justin Jefferson had two catches for 27 yards and they put up 30 here and here all the other guys for those of you listening and not watching on YouTube or peacock it’s Addison going for 162 hackinson 114 Jones 106 on the ground alone and so yeah they can all those other guys can step up it doesn’t have to be the the JJ show uh for sure I’ve got a comment here from noo hoo that says what more does Kevin oconnell need to do to be in the running for coach of the year the Vikings 9-2 when most people in the media thought Minnesota would get seven or eight wins Max you and Florio talk about how the award usually goes to coaches who exceed expectations why not him yeah I mean he’s in the mix he’s in the mix he’s definitely exceeded expectations I don’t know and and like great point I mean he’s nine they’re nine and two it’s what the the second best record in football tied for the second best record in football so like I he’s right about that Vikings fans are what do we need to do we win all these games I know I think style points matter a little bit I think that’s probably hurt them right they’ve had some favorable matchups they pulled out a few games maybe that we went eh didn’t look great right so let’s I like it’s kind of odd it’s like their number one fan Mike Florio picks against I mean their number one fan is also their last fan and I don’t know if he loves them or hat some I’m not really sure but I I I guess it’s that more or not than anything it’s just the fact of the impressive and and then also I think what plays into this is a little of like yeah the expectations weren’t super high but I still think people thought H they could be a playoff team right you know and we there were going to be a playoff team it looked like last year with Kirk Cousins until he got hurt uh but I I’m guessing that is really the the big reason they’re beating the teams they’re supposed to for the most part uh now got to see them kind of beat some of the upper class teams of the NFL I know they beat the 49ers early in the year but we know the 49ers aren’t what they thought right the Packers and the Texans the Texans aren’t what we thought the Packers are the team that the number one win on their schedule at this point and they’ve been a little inconsistent at seven and three or eight and three themselves but uh I think those are our reasons why he’s not the coach of the year Compass traveler yeah talks about the Bears here yeah one week closer to Ben Johnson to the Bears yeah I I I hear you there that’s the one that Mak read that why would I even read that that makes no sense Pete cut that out Ben Johnson’s name I hear it attached to Jacksonville as well we’ll see where it goes I’ve heard some rumors around it um but I would think that would be if I was Chicago Bears and the owner or the GM or anybody like that I’d be sitting there thinking about Ben Johnson he’d be at the top of my list he’s perfect for the quarterback they got a lot of young pieces on that team to grow with that’d be the kind of team I’d want to take over if I was Ben and I hear the Bears are fighting I’m not going to I mean they they could have won last week they could have won this week they haven’t given up on abber flu that’s for sure three losses on the final play yeah but they’re they’re in trouble here sitting at 4 and seven all right so uh that’s where we sit right now it was last thing too was like more well just like the Bears Too here’s another thing you just talk about like they had a field goal blocked again after the game-winning field goal was blocked last week they dropped a punt and gave the Vikings a short field touchdown to make it 24 to1 so they’re they’re fighting but they’re still doing dumb stuff and self-inflicted wounds that have certainly hurt their football team and yeah they’re not going to pull out these games unless they fix that stuff first Alejandra huamani says how is it that the Bears keep finding new ways to lose but he didn’t say Caleb looks like he’s growing watch out Ahmed there that’s a lot of bad things brewing with the Bears right now Caleb’s getting better the offense looks good and they might one pass defense I think that that’s this is the thing that I I tried to say to some people throughout the week this is why I picked Seattle to win this football game and our man here is like I think spot on and Frank noes Leonard Williams overall big picture thing is what I’m saying is the front seven for the Seattle Seahawks is healthy I think we talked about this on Wednesday a little bit or maybe last week but it’s an impressive group when they’re healthy when when you when you when you talk about Draymond Jones Geron Reed uh Byron Murphy first round pick Leonard Williams go along with that uh the kid Hall who’s a second round or the second-year kid from Auburn coming off the edge yeah exactly right thank you for saving me there they got a little depth behind that it looks like the secondary starting to figure out how to play in the Mike McDonald scheme right I think there’s a lot of things here that are starting to look positive for Seattle their offense is still a little bit all over the place but I think their defense is about to be a force to be reckoned with which is kind of shocking but because there was like five weeks ago it was a little bit like man I’m dis disappointed in their defense and it just doesn’t look like it’s going to quite turn the corner this year but they got healthy and it has turned the corner this was a d struggle football game I there was nothing to talk about for a long time Cardinals put together an ugly field goal drive with a big throw to Trey McBride I think there was two throws to Trey McBride on the drive but then Seattle finally kind of woke up on the offensive side of the ball and as usual what was it oh it’s a big pass by genino that’s really what it ends up being that usually Sparks the football team and lately the go-to guys been Jackson Smith and jigo I think he gets two big passes to Jackson Smith and jigman to set up a touchdown drive and then the moment came the game-changing moment it’s 73 Seahawks the Cardinals are kind of driving the ball past Midfield kind of like Fringe like oh you know we can’t kick a field goal or do that yet but so we got to go for it it’s fourth and one Kyler keeps the ball on a bootleg to the right they’ve covered it well I understand what he’s thinking he’s get on the side he’s going fourth and one let me give my guy a chance I think he’s got Wilson who’s kind of maybe got a spot to catch the ball but he’s got somebody that’s kind of all over him he misses the throw and overthrows him he’s not like he’s open don’t get me wrong here but then Kobe Durant catches it Kobe Kobe Bryant sorry sorry Kevin Durant Kev Durant Kevin Durant I was I don’t know what I was thinking but he catches the ball and this is the problem with now making this throw on the sidelines as you’re going out of bounds the defense catches it there’s nobody there to tackle the guy and he went out of bounds because of his momentum and Kobe Bryant just went right up the field for basically a 70 yard pick six was 69 yards now if Mike McDonald can prove himself as an old school coach though yeah if he finds Kobe Bryant for not knocking that down it was fourth down you knock that down you don’t catch that I I hear you but it wasn’t far enough down the field and I would love to know too did Colby realize like whoa I got green grass in front of me here so I do catch this cuz your Point’s real that’s usually what talked about in those situations but I think the fact that it was probably only like a six or seven yard throw right down the field that’s probably why he does that now don’t get me wrong now the SE Seattle Seahawks have a chance to go down and control the football game and they’re inside the 20 yard line and Gino Smith threw what is he’s good for one a week right now the dumbest interception in the end zone and kind of let Seattle hang around the football game and they went down and got a field goal and then it was a one score 136 football game forever Seattle finally put him away my point being is I still like Arizona I think they’re going to have games that are going to look like this when Arizona can’t run the ball this goes back to what we said early in the year they don’t have enough speed at receiver I think to separate against the reek woin the Devon Withers spoons of the world sometimes and they played pretty good man-to-man defense it looked like today and then without they being able to run the ball in that front seven of Seattle you saw their their offense struggle a little bit yeah Kyle lauray has his guy and we’ve known that for a while it’s not Marvin Harrison it’s not Wilson although he had a great catch in this one it was Trey McBride McBride 15 targets caught 12 of him for 133 yards lives over the middle of the field it’s just it’s one Crosser after another in-cut Crosser and then when you start to play that a little too much all of a sudden he breaks out on like a flag route and gets like a 12 or 13 yard gain there but he’s a hell of a player he’s he’s one of the best pass catching tight ends in football um but I still think it kind of and that’s what fits again oh they proba manto man well oh him against linebackers and safeties that’s pretty good Marvin Harrison against reek Witherspoon right or riek Woolen oh he’s tall just like him oh and he’s significantly faster those are the days that you worry about will we see Marvin Harrison have an effect in the game as much as we’d like I hope so going forward so Cardinals had it rolling until this game that four game win streak is over Martin Lawrence has a question for you are the Cardinals a legitimate divisional winner Prospect or have they overachieved early in the season and now they might be about to level out well well like you know this is where we have to clarify things right what is a legitimate winner Prospect are we calling Houston with their seven and five and they look like crap for the last 6 weeks to the legitimate winner Prospect right are we calling one of the teams from the AFC South AFC South who have all looked like crap basically for the last month until the Buccaneers today are any of them legitimate winners so here you go hey Martin Lawrence you are as good as some of the teams that have been crappy and are leading their division your division’s wide open is what the point is so that’s where it’s like no do I think you’re one of the more quality football teams in all the league no I don’t I think you’re a fringe playoff football team that has some things that I really like about it but as we’ve talked about they’re they’re a classic team of like they got the meat and potatoes they need Sizzle now and that’s why I was saying at the trade line line don’t trade you’re not going to win the Super Bowl this year wait till this year’s over cash in the chips you’re going to have a ton of money to spend in free agency they got a ton of draft picks again and they can build a team that’s like oh wow we have one of the more talented teams in football for the next five or six years and I’m glad that didn’t chase dreams this year but no they are what they are right now that’s where we’re at me and amen for two weeks in a row right you are who you are for the most part there’s only like two teams out there that are kind of like oh they they could actually be more than what they are everybody else is like kind of this is where we are you are who you are we are who we are type of part of the year who am I you are you are who you are who you are who and then who am I who you are they a physical running football team who can make some Splash plays at time because they have a quarterback that’s super explosive and they have a good offensive coordinator and petting who can get some people open but there’s going to be certain days where like this game or the Chargers game where they’re going to go uh it’s ugly they won the Chargers game in a defensive battle they lost this one today but some of that was because of yeah self-inflicted wounds Miss field goals stupid penalties uh and bad turnover I mean they could use a guy like like I don’t know like a like a Shifty like a Malik neighbors or like a Brian Thomas well that’s what well you’re funny I like all the guys they got but no that’s the next step though they need a guy like that the guy that can be speed sweep reverse guy can go catch a slant and go for 70 yards right cuz they got everything else on their football team uh that’s for sure and I think they are building something pretty impressive there all right but congrats to to sweat it out 623 to go Matt Stafford back to pass third and N puka n we got a first down you might be a jinx this actually might be happening all right we’ll keep you updated on this game it’s already over stop the fight now we’re in that section of our podcast some blowouts out there oh no the Packers beat the 49ers without their quarterback without Nick Bosey yes they have had injuries this year but so have a lot of other teams 38 to10 was the final score all right is there anything you need to say that could offend your friend Kyle well no you know the one thing I I know about my friend is he knows I’m going to keep it real anyways and and I know he’s going to keep it real that’s part of the reason why we’re friends I saw a little bit of his postgame press conference he said all the same things I would have said except I probably would have had a few swear words if I was up there but yeah I mean you don’t I don’t say this much this is a rare day where the 49ers got physically got their ass whooped I mean that that’s rare I don’t see that from the 49ers it started from jump street or in the first drive of the game Packers just marched it right down the field it wasn’t pretty it wasn’t easy but it was literally like four yards 5 yards four yards eight yards three yards oh we lost two two uh seven yards oh it’s third and six conversion boom I mean they just did that third down conversions out the Wazoo in the first half of the football game but that to me is the overall theme of Al the bazu are you laughing at that of course you’re starting a quarterback in Brandon Allen who hasn’t played in forever so like you want to let him ease into the game you want to be able to run the football and and let him get into a rhythm and feel the speed and pace of a a real NFL football game which he hasn’t felt forever so that was God we got halfway through the second quarter the game was 17 to nothing and you really felt like the 49ers had no chance and I don’t remember saying that about the 49ers a whole lot in my life uh but that was certainly one of the first times ever they put together a good drive to make it 17-7 but then they come out in the third quarter Brandon Allen kind of sails the ball down the middle of the field Xavier mckin gets an interception he has a good return they score a touchdown a few plays later it’s 24 to7 there’s no way the 49ers going to comeback with a with Brandon Allen at quarterback in Lambo cold night that defense at that point and that was kind of all she wrote and apologies to the Packers you know that we have not uh gushed about your performance which was awesome but we will get to that here in a second 71 sad fans says damn okay the 49ers are broken the injuries sloppy defense Debo and others just aren’t it right now feels like all the Deep playoff runs have finally caught up to them I think that’s part of it I had to talk about it at halftime a little bit and it it’s a deep subject it is I I I I do think that point is spot on it’s 5 years of long Seasons right and never getting the payoff to re-energize the payoff of like yeah we won the Super Bowl now we got to defend it right that’s where the Chiefs get their energy right they’re like we’re it’s harder to be we’re at the top of the world damn we’re back down on the Basin of the world we’re we’re we got to climb it again ah so I do think there’s an aspect of that then you talk about some of the offseason drama they had with IU in the contracts right there’s all of that then they’re a banged up football team which Shanahan talked about tonight but he’s not going to make excuses for that but I think like into that and then you miss some players yeah hardgrave hunga Dre Greenlaw those are part of your psycho fabric of your defense that’s why they are always like oh we’re flying around killing when you only have like one guy out there or two guys like boser and and and Fred Warner yeah it’s not contagious through the team that way they’ve lost the ability to dominate on the offensive side of the ball in the Run game since mcaffry has gotten back they haven’t really like run the ball effectively on anybody and they don’t look as physical doing that I do wonder if they maybe should dive back into the Jordan Mason thing just a little bit because I mean he was like top leading rusher in the NFL for a while and then he banged up a shoulder and mcaffrey came back and we forgot about him so that Amed the amount of Miss tackles I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 49ers team Miss as many tackles as they did today I mean whoever it was receivers Josh Jacobs Emanuel Wilson the other running back for for uh Green Bay I mean it just it wasn’t good and yeah they do not look like the crazy psycho 49er team that runs through a brick wall at at at at a whim you know yep all right time to gush about the Packers they’re eight and three for the fourth time in six seasons under Matt laflure who if you’ve listened to this podcast we have been talking about it should be in the conversation a coach in the year uh maybe won it a couple times already and he did run up the score kind of on your on your friend too at the end there I thought that was kind I think touchdown late yeah yeah I I I hear you I think they’re trying I don’t think he’s probably totally in love with the way his offense is functioning as a whole right right now and again we’ve said this a few times they’re eight and three with a quarterback who’s got big- time potential and I really like in Jordan love but as we’ve said him many times it’s like he’s played B to B minus football this year let’s just be real it’s been B minus football that’s what he’s played so I think there’s a little bit of like hey we we just got to keep the pedal on the medal we got to keep working on our Run game we got to keep you know getting a few throws for love and all that but yeah even today again they didn’t have to rely on him much made a few big plays he had Christian Watson who Dropped a Bomb down the field that would have probably been a touchdown if not down to like the two or three yard line that was unfortunate but I as you know I’m a Packers fan I think the Packers are one of those teams we’ve talked about that don’t classify in the We Are Who We Are thing they could be more than what they are right now they’re eight and three which is clearly one of the better teams in football but I see talent that I go they are better than 8 and3 with their talent and then the other aspect of it is I see moments of how they play and I go wow that’s impressive right they just don’t put it together for a full game it might be a few drives here and there whatever but I’m not certainly not giving up on the Packers I’m not giving up on Jordan love I do think he’ll get this right at least he didn’t have any bad turnovers today that’s the most important thing and that offensive line and that run game it’s one of the best in football in fact it’s only second probably to your Detroit Lions that’s what I would say and in the spirit of doing this uh recap completely backwards we end with Josh Jacobs here who recorded the most Miss tackles forced 15 by any Ball Carrier this season not in this one game but over the year so far he goes for over a 100 and he was like running like a manp possessed out there he’s he is a a freak of nature in his own right he is a muscular bowling ball running the ball he breaks so many arm tackles bounces off people to have 106 yards your longest run of the day is 18 right it was a lot of just great five yard six yard eight yard whatever I think the longest run of the day was the first run of the game that’s what it was but the other aspect about him not only the power and the bouncing and the breaking off tackles and do all that he’s really got great short area quickness right to kind of Bob and weave through the garden tackle hole and then oh I get to the second level I can make the linebacker Miss he’s really impressive that way we know they got some speed at receiver they got some Playmakers on the defensive side of the ball I’m still a believer in that the Packers are maybe that one team I look in the NFC as I look here right now again this week 12 and I know things can change and we still got a lot of football to play but they’re the only team that I feel like can upset where I look at it right now the the Lions versus Eagles NFC Championship game they are the next team up in that order and they could be the team that upsets one of those two and upsets that matchup again I not trying to be Noster Damas I’m just saying that’s the way I feel here at at week 12 talented for sure both sides of the ball Xavier mckin his seventh interception of the Season tied for the NFL lead and those 15 Miss tackles forc Miss tackles that was in this game for uh for Josh Jacob first time in since 1999 that a Packers running back has had over a 100 yards and three touchdowns at Lambo field wow you believe that wow isn’t that pretty that’s incredible I I I was shocked when I saw that and uh hey good for for Josh Jacobs really he’s he’s playing phenomenal football he’s liking his new surroundings let’s talk about there there’s his running chart there if you’re watching on peacock or YouTube now let’s talk about the Detroit Lions oh now let’s talk the time has come uh they beat the Colts 24-6 the Lions now 10- one their best start since 1934 their longest single season win streak since 1934 man I wish I was around in 1934 they were probably loving life were partying all over the place uhoh well we talked about it this is where it’s going to happen uh the 30 to 14 the Rams came away with no points the last Drive saquan Barkley just broke a 65 yard touchdown saquon Barkley’s going to have over 200 yards rushing tonight saquon Barkley on every Monday morning talk show and Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning is going to be Sequon Barkley’s the MVP of football that’s where we’re going right here I mean this is a monster monster day to have this it looks like it’s about a 65 68 yard touchdown run uh incredible right now and I think that’s going to put him close to 250 on the day Ahmed 255 so 72 y touchdown 25 on the day start the MVP sequ Andy has 47 through the air so he’s over 300 he’s over three 300 yes he is that is over yes2 yard it’s 32 all right uh we’ll get to your Giants here in a second so see we still got to talk about your Lions we got to talk about the Lions Back to the Lions now um so they um this was a game that started out and I was watching it uh Anthony Richardson looked good and Jonathan Taylor look good and it almost looked like I was like man if they just wanted to be Army what army like is to everyone that’s not Notre Dame and just run the ball every time I’m not sure that they can’t do that very effectively uh they might get beat up they might get but I think that’s the scare it almost looked like they could do that they got away from a little bit they had some unfortunate penalties that killed drives too and then the momentum started rolling in the Lions favor and they couldn’t stop yeah then and then you know the culture of the team that can’t always overcome a bad Sack or a negative play cuz they’re just like to your point they’re not a they’re a highflying offense but not a high functioning offense they can make some big wow plays but they can also go well they’ve missed their last four passes and they’ve gone three and out on three drives in a row right they’re a little bit that way they play hard they played well today the game was competitive it was like kind of like one of the more boring less impressive 246 games you can imagine for the Lions Jared G was really good but it wasn’t a wow day right the running G the running game I feel like was same way there was some wow runs and some moments but you weren’t just like oh wow they’re just dominating the Colts front seven and same with the pass game no real big plays to talk about on the day I think it was just a good team win you couple that with your defense played solid your defense didn’t let the Jonathan Taylor Run game gash them which is a big thing and then you’ll let up a few big plays to to Anthony Richardson in the past game but that’s going to be like what it is for them you just you never let him get consistently in a rhythm and control you that way so I’ll see you later man they’re not leaving they’re not leaving they’re they’re spending the night here it’s not not until Thanksgiving is when they will go um we got a comment from Sam come on you Spurs 10 that says to you he goes wants to look at the defensive side for the Lions here because they’re without Alex anzelone they’re without Aiden Hutchinson right now so other guys are going to have to step up he goes Dam alen mcneel and Jack Campbell Lions defense dealing with a lot of injuries still hold the Colts to zero touchdowns at home lions are a complete team they are they are a complete team we’ve said that a bunch we got a lot of big Stout people on that D line you can stop the run there’s not much to look at and complain about the Lions that’s what we talk about there’s it’s one thing it’s all working together as well it’s like the offense is putting the defense in good spots it’s like the ultimate complimentary football it was 14 to six and you were down there close to the goal line and you went for on a fourth and one where I would just said go for it make it 17 to6 and continue to apply the pressure and they will you will choke the Colts out but it doesn’t matter because you guys are so good you get to stop you go back down the next time score anyway agressive even when it doesn’t work out here’s the thing that it’s like this is where it’s a little bit of a weird matchup and I I tried to say this on the matchup pod a little bit with fio on Thursday clearly better than the Colts right but they pose some some schematical problems I think for a team like you one like you talked about the quarterback run the way they run they got a good all line so that can like oh God we got to worry about that which can leave some like big holes in the pass game which we saw them strike a few times and they were this close on about two or other three pass plays right so that can happen and then I think the the other thing is Gus Bradley since it’s the Seattle scheme and this is something I hear from coaches all the time it’s hard to game plan big plays vers it right since they play the same two or three defenses all the time time they know like oh when we do this version of our defense and the teams in this formation they like to run this play against us or try to expose Us in that manner so they always know what you’re kind of trying to do when they’re they know where their flaw is in that two or three defense as they do and for a guy like Ben Johnson and I’ve heard shanan talk about this where it’s like you want to crack the code and find some ways to I want Jameson Williams up the scene with nobody there for a 50- yard touchdown I want Gibbs on the edge gone right it’s like you can’t ever get them out of place in those defenses and Gus Bradley of course the architect of the Seattle 3 and that’s where it’s a little bit of a weird matchup at times I think for a team like Detroit 10 and one the Detroit Lions but uh still not separating too much from those Minnesota Vikings or even the Green Bay Packers tough tough division uh the Tampa Bay Buccaneers separated from the New York Giants you think Tampa snaps their four game losing streak uh they Trail Atlanta by one game in the NFC South still Atlanta owning the tiebreaker there uh so this was the Tommy DeVito normally when you have like you make that change your fan base gets one game where you’re like well that’s cool you know Daniel’s out of here look at Tommy oh he might be the guy you get like one game to like just celebrate they didn’t get that game no they did not I mean they started a guy to hopefully get a little Pizzazz and energy in the stadium right they they they passed up their second quarterback just for Pizzazz and energy in the stadium that’s basically what they did what whatever it was a business decision okay I guess get that but also I don’t and I do sit here and go well maybe that’s why the defense was like what the hell today like we’re not even playing the best players were just going to play what’s cool to the fans out there I mean maybe that’s why they didn’t look like they showed up to play football today I don’t know but that was odd but obviously yeah it was not a uh Tommy DeVito gabao day okay it didn’t it didn’t work out that hey forget about it because Baker Mayfield had other things to say about it okay okay Jesse James Jr says damn okay Baker Mayfield with the grown man touchdown run to keep the Bucks alive yeah yeah it was a grown man run and then he did the Tommy DeVito thing and we tried to teach him on football night in America cuz he was like going up and down like he was like going like raise the roof and it’s like no it’s right here you know you got he’s from Texas so I got to teach him a little bit it was a little bit like if a mom was to do it right it was just be like Mom it’s not quite like that just every Italian mom or dad I know especially my father-in-law it’s like right here it’s like right by their face it’s like hey idiot that’s that’s kind of how it goes down usually he got a little loose with he was too excited he was excited he was too excited either way it was cool it was a cool moment the Bucks offense did whatever it wanted the whole day it didn’t matter which is a surprise which is a surprise to be able to do that I mean the Giants defense we know has had some problem stopping the run but for the most part has played tough given some good offenses some hard times at times today that was it was never the case it just Baker made big throws Bucky Irvin made big runs they had their way with the Giants through route the Giants went for it on a fourth down kind of in their own territory early on in the football game cuz they were down 10 nothing and I think they saw it like man if we don’t do something here we’re in trouble well that became 17 nothing in a hurry and yeah the game just snowballed out of control and the Giants offense just really couldn’t do anything on that side of the ball Todd B’s got to be loving the way they’re running the ball he’s punching it in the end zone with the Run game four rushing touchdowns one each by Rashad white Bucky Irving who had 87 in this one I think we have his running Bucky Irving has been incredible like one of the surprises of the league here to me rookie running back out of Oregon the way they’ve kind of transformed here a little bit to go like Hey we’re going to run the ball because our receivers are banged up and we’re going to use the receivers in the pass game along with K doton really phenomenal job by Liam Cohen the offensive coordinator proven to be really one of the more creative guys out there and yeah we’ll see can the Bucks kind of keep this going let’s see let’s see if they can get healthy here and make one more push down the stretch here and and try to win the NFC south or at least get him the playoffs who knows maybe the Miami Dolphins can make a run at the Buffalo Bills Buffalo’s pretty much running away with the AFC East but the Dolphins still in the mix for a playoff spot I don’t know that we’d be saying that like three weeks ago no no I don’t know if we would either but there’s there’s uh the ball control passing offense of the Miami Dolphins is kind of how I explain it so this is what you said about as we move on to the Dolphins beating the Patriots 34 to 15 you said this about Tua and it’s well chronicled your thoughts on Tua and his limit the numbers high flying Statics don’t necessarily mat his talent Lev it’s just it’s just like what I what I have this is where it gets a little convoluted a little bit or misconstrued it’s just there was a time when everybody was trying to tell me that Tua and Jaylen Herz were the two best quarterbacks in football and I was just trying to say no they’re good but they’re not the best in fact they’re kind of like not close to the best but they’re real good and then I became a hater off of that okay I think Jaylen Herz is a top 10 quarterback for sure I think Tu is close to that you know I haven’t done a quarterback ranking but he’s playing awesome right now so go ahead what else are we going to say so this is what you called him on football night in America I’m just going to quote you you said he’s the best ball handler in the NFL he is that you mean what by that I mean by how awesome his play action fakes look exactly like the runs right how he’s got a lot of different angles to throw little sidearm throws shovel passes behind the back tosses whatever else he’s really good and they have so many plays where it’s like double misdirection ball handing it’s like fake up the middle fake to the guy reversing then drop back to pass look like you’re looking downfield then throw the screen and he’s really good at selling it all he gives the proper body language to where like the linebacker or the safety in the second level is like wait that looked just like the reverse to Tyreek before his body language looked exactly the same he must have gave it to him oh no he didn’t oh no I’m out of position position now he’s thrown to the other guy here so and you don’t necessarily think that’s that easy for all quarterbacks to be able to do that effectively I don’t I don’t it’s again I’m not going to say it’s the like the top skill in all of football but it is an important thing and I can like you know who was awesome of that Boomer asaon and pton Manning were incredible at that type of stuff and those are the kind of things that give your offense just another little nudge of an advantage right you know oh the the play action fake oh the sa took a step up cuz he was like man that looks just like when he hands the ball off it didn’t look like it was a fake handoff right oh I stepped up oh no wad behind me right that stuff does have an effect on the football team and especially with them as many misdirection things they have going on and why I’m saying they’re a ball control passing offense because we’ve been talking about it the last few weeks it’s really four yards to the right four yards to the left screen pass swing pass four yards to the right four yards to the left and today what we saw finally is a Patriots defense start to go like we’ve had enough and then all of a sudden it was Wadd down the middle or Janu Smith down the middle and they hit a few plays like that like the old Dolphins where they were running free down the middle of the field and you’re going ooo this is exciting so that’s where they’re impressive but they become more of an efficient chew up the clock type of offense and then their defense on top of that has got it going man it was dominant today on what they did there yeah the the Dolphins are not going to be an easy out I’m excited to watch them Thursday night on NBC against Green Bay it’s going to be an awesome football game we have the game of the day on Thanksgiving and if they win that I’m going to be interested to see if they can make a legit push here down the stretch to actually get in the playoffs yeah there’s a lot of exciting things to watch with this team now since Tua came back there’s three- game winning streak 30 points per game and so I mean just what he does for this offense and what he unlocks for this offense is on another level and in this game too you talked about all the motion they did use the motion at the highest rate in a game this season 94% of the time to a complete 27 of his 37 attempts uh with all that motion they marry it Al so well together and it’s just oh it’s this motion it’s this run oh it’s the same motion oh it’s the fake off of it it’s and and they they they give you a lot of the same looks just to create different advantages but like looks in the pass game and Run game to the defense where it starts out oh wait I just saw this motion with the pass oh no no he’s blocking me and they toss it the Devon Devon H in oh no now I’m like I was just dropping back to pass and now the receiver’s B in me right so they that’s where they’re really good it’s not as explosive as last year or maybe what we thought it it’s going to be it’s little it’s very surgical right now but he’s on point he’s accurate as hell and within this offense he’s got great feel for where the windows are and where people are moving and how to move people when you play zone against them it’s dangerous they’re dangerous they’re if they can win on Thursday night they got Jets Texans 49ers Browns Jets I know those are it’s the NFL and nothing’s going to be easy but they certainly have a chance to maybe run the table if not they can probably afford to lose one game and still maybe have a chance to get in as a seven seed here depending on what the Broncos do and some of these other teams down the list do there is a there is kind of like a joke there that to be made with the dolphins offense four yards to the left four yards to the right that song what’s that song Don’t in the wedding the wedding song you go now to the left slide to the right Electric Slide electric is that the elri so there’s something there the dolphin I’ve been trying to think of something creative because there’s like three yards at a cloud of dust yeah that’s right this that’s what I was trying to say but it’s it’s throwing the ball three yards in a cloud of dust it’s the same run it’s just like it’s inside Zone to the weak side but they pose so many problems because of their personnel and the way they package the plays and all that it’s impressive the Eagles again like you’re not always going to see and look at it and go oh this is so awesome this is so highflying like every Drive they kind of just wear on you they wear on you and they wait for their moment then they might dial up oh we’ve been waiting to throw this deep pass down the field or they just continue to do what they do and they just go one of our guys is going to break it open if we just play it the way we know to play it oh you don’t have enough people to stop the run we run it oh you got too many people in here and AJ Brown’s 101 we’re throwing AJ Brown they don’t really need to reinvent the wheel that way and as we’ve said a few times here on the Pod lately right if Jaylen Hurst doesn’t turn the ball over they’re almost impossible to beat they are they are the second best team in football they have got everything I don’t really see many flaws with their team Al together I you’ve heard me say I mean I think Detroit’s playing better football I don’t know if I think Detroit’s more talented than Philadelphia i’ would be pretty scared in that match up right I mean Philadelphia I tried to say this on football night in America because I still have people sometimes ask me about that I’m like really I’m like it’s the best two tackles in football it’s maybe the best two guards in football I mean it’s it’s like when you talk about tandems when Devonte Smith is healthy it’s the best tandem receiver in football for my money it’s the best running back in football it’s a top 10 quarterback it’s a top five or sixish tight end or top 10 tight end it’s the best D tackles in football it’s the best pass rushers as far as depth in football the secondary is super talented it’s coming along to so they got it all going and their defense is bought into the Vic fangio thing again I thought it’s pretty impressive what I was worried about tonight was fio likes to play zones like we talk about and they pass people off and they’re so good I was like ah this could be a little scary McVey and them could have a few ways to kind of like spread out that little Zone and then boom we hit you there they played manto man at times they showed they were capable of covering the Rams they do they got it all working right now they are extremely impressive and they won 37 to 20 uh Again by what I would say is being somewhat basic that way and Sims adamus did it again when you said if he goes over if saquin goes over 250 it’ll be the talk everywhere and then it happened and like we said he’s over 300 total scrimage yards in this game and now he’s getting an interview with Melissa Stark at the end of the game uh what about the uh the Rams five and six now I mean it seems like every one of those teams in that division will have a chance up until the last two weeks of the season right like not super impressed with their football team like I don’t sit here and go oh they’re going to go deep into the NFC playoffs but like also like if they get in the playoffs they’d be like oh gosh we got to see the Rams that’s what they are the defense continues to get better I think we’ve kind of hit on it with them they’re young they’re athletic up front they could probably use one more big guy in the middle of their defense for games like this obviously cuz they don’t have enough big people to hang in there it’s all about chaos and and just you know blow the play up with our athletes doing all that it’s it’s hard to play against the Lions and the Eagles that way at some point they’re going to call the right Run play and you’re going to call chaos to the right and they’re going to push everybody to the right and nobody’s going to be to the left if that makes sense right so that’s that’s where it’s tough but hey the the biggest thing is like most good teams the Eagles know who they are and they got some belief going right now and they got some Mojo going uh played really really well I’m not giving up on the Rams by any stretch of the imagination they’re certainly still in this cuz if that offense is healthy against most teams in football it’s going to be hard to stop them I a believer in that old line I think they finally got it right I think the running back’s damn good and you know the receivers and Stafford are always going to be dangerous you know who else has some Mojo going right now it is the Panthers cuz they almost won a game it is time for give me the headlines presented by Hyundai we go to the printing press we got the article written got the game story got all the stats in there we just need the headline okay that’s all we need that’s I’m an expert at that hold on just tell me I got it okay one job with this newspaper is to come up with two headlines for uh not even all of them for the NFL uh Chiefs defeat the Panthers closer than we thought yes by three 30 to 27 your headline for this one is by a whisker Panthers whisker kitty cat Kansas City 10 in one for the fourth time in franchise history John Ardell say and this kind of goes hand in hand with your headline the Chiefs are extremely Adept at making everyone believe they’re not very good can barely win games I believe it’s partially on purpose to lull others they’re capable of turning it on when it is required that that there is truth to that you know that they have been like fio always says they play with their food they play up and down to their competition for the most part it’s like they’re bored right now let me say this with them I think I do go and I I try to say this to you a little and this is I’ve been thinking about it all week a little bit the Chiefs a little since last Sunday it it 40 years of my life wants to say they can’t go to the Super Bowl like this they can’t like we talked about a little on Wednesday the defense isn’t as good right the offense still concerns me you know the way they play some of these games all of it but the fact of what they did at the end of last year is like the only thing I I can’t say about them with that I can’t but yeah this was wasn’t impressive now what was impressive was that one of their better offensive showings momes the past game I think looked as good as it’s looked all year they really never got stopped by the Panthers all day they might have to settle for field goals at times and stuff like that but you know as far as like the Chiefs sa and Mahomes they did what they wanted for the most part of the football day and kind of touchdown Carolina kept scoring field goals and then as the game went on now that was the concerning thing is Carolina moved the ball in Kansas City all day long it’s just that early in the game Kanas Kansas City scored touchdowns and Carolina settled for field goals but as the game went along Carolina started to punch it in the end zone a little bit and made it a game Bryce young looked good I I do think he’s turned the corner here ever since his benching and the fact that like he looks like a starting caliber NFL quarterback they still got to get a few more pieces around him but he looked comfortable he makes a few plays every game where I go o nice play nice throw Bryce young way to go so they got that going but yeah I thought it was a little concerning overall with that the way they move the ball up and down the field in the Chiefs defense today I mean they really did what they did last year made it impossible for us to have any comment on the Chiefs we have to with withhold our commentary until it’s I was trying to say this to Jason Garrett and mccordi a little bit on the in the back viewing room today too and to to the guys because it’s always like we always have at one point of the day it’s like okay so how do we want to explain the Chiefs today and like you know everyone’s like well they just get it done right that’s like what you want to say but it but but that’s where I brought it up and I know momes had the good day and the three touchdown passes and that’s all fine in Dandy and I love that but still I just sit here and still go yeah 10 and one right I know they’re winning football games but so many of them have not been super impressive and like I said I don’t think the defense is as good as years’s past we’ll see where it goes hopefully they can continue this offensive momentum and find some ways to throw the ball but I don’t think it’s a very good Carolina defense they can’t rush the passer at all momes had all day in the pocket at times and I just think it was the perfect matchup for them to kind of make some plays and having said all that it was 27 all and Mahomes had to make an incredible scramble to put them into field goal position to win the football game now that one I was almost ready to be like I I don’t kind of like it because Mahomes and he didn’t really do the oky do he wasn’t that close to the sideline when I first saw when I first saw I was like that’s tough for the defense right because of all quarterbacks you don’t want to have hit it’s going to be Patrick Mahomes you know they’re going to protect him but he really wasn’t that close to the sideline when I think it was I do think to your point though there’s two Defenders who kind of like were like oh he’s about to go out of bounds there especially one that was trailing him and chasing him who kind of looked like he pulled up a little like oh he’s going out of bounds and then he cuts it up the field and he is he’s the master at it he is good win by them 10 and one I’m sure they were a little bit this is the other aspect of this too deflated ah The Undefeated season’s over oh we got Carolina we could we could beat them with one eye closed right I think there’s a little aspect of that there was no fear probably the whole in this game as far as like oh we might lose to Carolina uh but that’s also the mindset that’ll lead you into a really close football game and they didn’t they are 10 and one as you mentioned uh career achievement here for Andy Reid third head coach now with 19 or more seasons with 10 or more wins he joins oh okay I was going to try to answer it and Bel you would have got that I right that was too easy for I would have insulted you how many say this stat again though what is it again 19 for more seasons with 10 or more wins that is incredible right incredible Upper Room of the upper room that’s where Andy re going right there into the Hall of Fame Sean pton kind of trying to get uh into some rooms of the Hall of Fame here if he can do it with the Denver Broncos he’ll be there Broncos beat the Raiders by 10 your headline for this one is heaving Las Vegas there we go heaving Las Vegas bonck was heaving it Heen Heen Las Vegas that was my Travis Kelsey after Super Bowl you I like that that is I know it’s not Viva but I went with I went heaving Las Vegas yeah fairly close all right fine he mad he Nick that I took my own fix my my own my own fix on this whole thing Pete wanted heaving Las Vegas like the movie but when I said it out loud I just instead of Viva Las Vegas I like this better so I went with this this is Chris’s one job at the newspaper don’t take this from him here Pete uh so this is uding to bonick was heav it to courland Sutton a couple times they got a good connection and bonck continues to look good and this Broncos team offensively defensively looks like a fairly complete team I I I think so too I I mean again are they the best team in football no but the one theme and what I do like about this time of the year is do you know who you are and they do they go we’re defense we’re going to run the ball we’re going to do play action passes down the field with Bo Knicks and if you start playing too deep we got a few Q wrinkles to throw theall ball on a screen pass or a swing pass to Marvin Mims that’ll keep you honest that way that’s what I like about them but yeah I continue to be impressed with what I see from the Broncos and the way they play I like that uh this game 29 to9 really like Raiders did a good job Raiders are still playing hard you got to say that Antonio piery they certainly didn’t give up here today the game started with a big kick return that set them up for the short field touchdown okay then they faked a punt later on in the game where they were fourth and I don’t know five or six and got a huge play out of it like a 30 35 yard game that set up a field goal for them to go up 10 to six so really you know the third phase of football there kind of kept the Raiders alive or at least in a spot where they were winning the football game there for a while but eventually it just became too much work for the Raiders offense to continue to move the football we saw that Gardner muu had a a bad turn over and unfortunately hurt his shoulder uh broken collar broken collar bone is that the official thing there yeah so you saw Desmond Ritter come in and he will be the quarterback yeah and that was that to me was probably the part of the game where it got out of hand right it was 13 to9 Raider the Raiders had the ball third quarter he overthrows the in cut it gets intercepted I Believe by Brandon Jones uh the safety for for the Denver Broncos he has a pretty good return and then it became heaving Las Vegas Courtland Sutton was open and it was heav Las Vegas so this is Denver’s first win at the Raiders since they were in Oakland in 2015 it’s been a long time holy crap is that right since they have done this uh Raider Johnny has something for you he goes I’ll admit it Bo Knicks as a franchise quarterback and worthy of a top 12 pick dot dot dot I was wrong dot dot dot tche you have made Raider Johnny admit that he made a mistake in evaluating bck I I appreciate Raider Raider Johnny is a it’s a man’s man kind of kind of comment right there right you’re welcome to the podcast you self Scout thyself just like we do here that’s okay you’re not going to be right all the time I’m not and I know a lot of football and I’ve been around a lot of damn good football players so yes I I I don’t want to like bow Knicks looks awesome to me I it’s just the look again I’m not saying it’s like 500 yards and just all of it I’m just going the Comfort the athlete the way the ball is flying out of his hand it dumps out to me right now he’s still going to make some mistakes and we know all that either way but I feel like he’s really understanding what Shawn pyton wants to do on offense he understands and I know Shawn communicates this way anyways like when I call this play I’m thinking this and he’s like okay he’s calling the play he’s like all right I know what he’s told me he’s thinking this guy’s open or this guy’s open and then just throw it to the running back okay like so he’s being taught at a phenomenally high level he’s an extension of Payton on the field he’s going to be a mini Drew Brees but a mini Drew Brees maybe with more physical ability which is the impressive thing and that’s a high bar I hear I hear you there we’ll see where they go but I think they’re a pain in the ass the Broncos and they continue to get better as we go on here it’s one of those teams where you’re like you talked about the Rams this way I think the Broncos even more like in the playoffs you’re like you don’t want to play I agree they’re better than the Rams I I think they are a better complete football team than the Rams this defense is dangerous we’ve talked about Sutton he’s the best corner in football our man Nick Bonito who we talked the day as far as a pass rusher under talked about guys gets a big strip sack in the football game and a big moment that kind of locked it away there uh so and set up the 20 to make it 296 and kind of end the football game they got Playmakers on both sides of the ball you’d love for them to have one more receiver that was kind of like really scary but they’re finding ways to throw the ball down the field to V valet I hope I said that right by the end of the year we’ll figure that out and then they’re finding ways to get Marvin M the ball in space and he is their most explosive player on offense when he is in space yeah that’s it’s actually turning into a very fun team yeah watch and we haven’t been able to say that about the Broncos here lately that was give me the headlines presented by Hyundai those are all the Sunday games but you know we don’t leave you hanging on those games that happened a few days ago especially when it’s a Snow Game what when it might have been the game of the year oh it was such a fun game to watch what it was amazing you know it’s a fun game when you wake wake up the next morning and the wife goes that was awesome last night that was I mean my wife Danielle who grew up in a family that does not give a about football right and now she’s like all in on it just and this just happened and when I was playing my wife still didn’t care about football this is happened within the last five years she’s locked in we woke she I can’t believe that that might have been the best game I most fun game I ever watched in my life what a fun day like the way it looked on TV the game was exciting I think Pittsburgh was the better team okay they blew you know who else thinks that George Pickins who said that at the end of the game they blew some opportunity sure but I give Cleveland a lot of respect for some of the plays they made the way they hung in there my man jamus Winston I mean first off the locker room pregame speech it’s Thursday night we’re the only game on TV that’s right call your auntie and your uncle tell them hey Auntie I’m on TV tonight I mean it just doesn’t get any better he’s talking his team up into a frenzy before the game then he gets out on the field and talks himself up cuz he’s like damn it’s cold out here and so they how would you like play I’m so blessed to be playing in the elements and Cleveland Brown Stadium like I mean he was like he wasn’t going to do anything but have success in that football game that’s what a great leader does that was impressive now the one thing I will throw a poo poo on with Cleveland and what they did and Jerry Judy was good and all that I get it that was intentional grounding at the end of the game that was intentional grounding that’s a glitch in The Matrix that the NFL has to fix you’re getting sacked and you just throw the ball in the vicinity of something or it hits your lineman and becomes illegal touching they had a reported eligible receiver uh 68 as the offensive lineman jamus wasn’t throwing in his vicinity the ball somewhat landed in his vicinity as he was being tackled to the ground that to me goes against the spirit of the rule that’s where I don’t love that and then guess what I got a news alert for you I didn’t like some of the fourth down go fors by Mike Tomlin you’re a defensive football team you’re not the Detroit Lions who score on everybody at will and go so what if we don’t stop or we don’t score here we’ll get the ball back and score the next drive that’s not who you are there is a difference in that and I did not like some of their decisions on fourth down early on in the game and I think there was one later on in the football game that I wasn’t in love with either they did miss some kicks though right in those elements yes missed some kicks right missed one kick and then I will say Russell Wilson made some damn good plays too I mean he really did him and jamus made some big time throws I thought Pittsburgh was going to pull it out but but good for Cleveland with the the big clutch drive at the end of the game Cleveland improves to three and eight the Steelers uh fall to 8 and three one more game to go you said this to me in the break you’re super excited about this one I’m super excited the hard ball hard ball attack this game with enthusiasm unknown to man except these two will hate each other tomorrow night Baltimore’s favored by three you went the other way I did you picked the Chargers to win by three I just feel like I again the Ravens are a little all over the place the Chargers know who they are they’re not going to they’re not going to go oh we’re coming in here with an agenda we’re going to throw the ball cuz we want to be sexy they’re going to go we’re going to run it we’re going to run it and then when you play overplay the run we’re going to throw the ball down the field and we’re going to play awesome defense the Ravens at times I I think do think coming to with an agenda that’s what bothers me about them but I also think I’m playing the angle of cross country trip not necessarily going to be a crazy I bet you there’s going to be as many Ravens fans there as Chargers fans so the Ravens won’t feel like it’s us against the world and I think Jim Harbaugh is going to be the more motivated coach in the matchup John kind of has his number when it comes to the NFL and I feel like he’s going to be highly motivated by that so I was kind of playing a gut feeling on Jim too in this one you know what I like kind of off topic but on topic I like the atmos spheres that you just described there like half of it could be Ravens fans half it’s like high school football a little bit like that the best rivalry game you hear them all getting excited when they make a big play but when you make a big play you’re getting excited and they’re sitting on their hands never a dull moment in the crowd of the noise you always hear something we heard that tonight with the Rams Eagles game there looked like there was more Eagles fans than Rams Fans there but there was constant crowd noise throughout the game and that was that is cool I’m really excited I’m this Ravens offense versus that Chargers defense wow get your popcorn ready you’re talking talking about yeah the Ravens offense can do whatever it wants what does it decide to do tomorrow night I don’t know I do think they’re going to have to try to run the ball first because the Chargers are the ultimate like we’re playing too deep until you prove otherwise they that’s what they do we’re playing too deep until you tell us and show us you can run on our front seven then we’ll start coming down there and I they will do it until all day long until you call their bluffing that department and of course you know what I think of the Ravens defense and I think the Chargers will be able to pass the ball on them with Justin Herbert and Lamar will have to reassert reassert his dominance in the MVP debate definitely a big game here it’s going to be the first week where he’s going to be looked at as maybe not the guy in the
