[Applause] where others have fail what gives you the confidence in knowing you’re the one capable of bringing this franchise act to relevance I’m going to build this culture to develop a standard of winning from the ground up Brick by Brick step by step I know what that looks like smells like and tastes like and when that time comes we’re going to win this place has been kicked battered ruised you’ve had enough of it this team is going to take on the identity of this city and when you punch back we’re going to smile at you and when you knock us down we’re going to get up and on the way up we’re going to buy the kneecap off take your other kneecap and then it’s going to take three shots to get us down before long we’re going to be the last one standing drama in the Motor City the big bad Buffalo Bills are coming to town this Detroit team has just got something about it you could feel it here we go [Applause] [Music] sens we might have a Super Bowl preview in Detroit yeah that’s the good stuff there we got the good stuff coming our way on Sunday afternoon man just think about how much these fan bases have been through how good their teams are a combin 22 and four 10 and three bills 12 and one Lions only the Colts and Seahawks had a combined 25 and 3 and 05 made up a more powerful matchup this late in an NFL season remember Indie started that year 13 and0 lost their first playoff game Seattle lost to the Steelers in the Super Bowl at the end of that season our Buddy Bryant mcfaden won his first ring of two say his name and he appears two times Super Bowl champ B ma Ryan McFadden’s joined the chat look gonna be a lot of fun breaking this fantastic matchup down let’s take it unit by unit because you got Josh Allen jumping off the page doing stuff that only he can do but which unit offensively do you give the edge to in this game yeah to your point Josh Allen is playing like the best player in the National Football League but as a team offensively I have to decide with the Detroit Lions they’re the epitome in terms of balance when you look at what Detroit has been able to do of course Russ they’re number one in the National Football League in points scored around 32 points per ball game they’ve been consistently scoring 30 Plateau not to mention when you look at what they’ve done rushing the football they’re top four in rushing they’re top four in passing one of two teams in the National Football League that’s top four in both categories the other team is the Baltimore Ravens that’s Balan they can run the football J Jared GF has been outstanding and throwing the football not to mention the efficiency and when you have running backs with the nickname of Sonic and Knuckles they’ve earned those nicknames because they have really displayed those same skill sets so I have to side the Detroit Lines solely because of the balance and how consistent they’ve been in either throwing the football running the football and most importantly Russ scoring points all right look when we flip it to the defensive side vac it actually it should be easy in the sense that the bills gave up 44 points and that lost to the Rams last week but the Lions defense is all kind of banged up so entering this game right now where these two teams are who gets the edge defensively I got to I got to side with Aaron Glenn to your point I don’t know how the Detroit Lines on the defensive side have have been such a stout unit when you look at so many key contributors out of the lineup because of injuries they were missing day one starters four right and then you factoring the backups that were filling in for some of those day one starters they’re out as well they’re getting guys off the street to come in and provide some type of spark for their defense and guess what those players have done so because they’ve been coached and prepared the right way they’re only allowing 18 points per ball game think about that 18 points allow when you look at so many new faces and new places for this defense Aaron Glenn is a topnotch play caller on the defensive side and the thing that I love outside of some of the numbers I gave you in terms of what they allow on the scoreboard they do a great job tackling great defenses do they do not miss tackles and you don’t see a lot of Miss tackles coming from the Detroit Lines on all three levels so eyes side with the Detroit Lines until your point we didn’t see a really really good performance the last time from the Buffalo Bills I expect to see a better performance but when you look at the entire Spectrum from both sides I have to side the Detroit Lions you know and it’s interesting you mentioned all that stuff about the Lions defense and how well they’re still playing because that kind of goes and you could tell me if I’m on to something or not but it seems to me culture and coaching have a lot to do with that when you bring guys in from off the street and they still perform so the locker room has to bring them into the fold and the coaches have to be able to coach them up who do you give the coaching Edge to in this matchup well for me when I look at both Co coaches I highly respect both coaches they’re great leaders of men and they know how to prepare but Dan Campbell is the midst of his fourth year Sean mcder is in the midst of his eighth year so when you look at the overall body of work for both coaches not just solely this year but what they’ve done I’m going to side with sha mcder eight years coaching in Buffalo like I said this will be his sixth straight year of double digigit wins sixth straight year of double digigit wins that’s consistency outside of that he’s made the playoffs granted the playoffs haven’t started this year but they’ve already stamped their ticket into the tournament seven out of the eight years coaching in Buffalo and this might be his best coaching performance Russ and the reason why I say that is because you look at some of the roster turnover that we witnessed going into this season not having your top wide receiver from a year ago in Stefon dicks not having your second best wide receiver and Gabe Watson guess what Josh Allen hasn’t missed either guy he’s playing phenomenal and that’s solely because of the coaching the leadership they have coming from Shawn mcder so I’m not taking anything away from Dan cam because he’s been an outstanding coach since becoming the head coach there in Detroit when you look at how he had to build the program from ground up but when you look at just the consistency like I said this will be his seventh time making the playoffs out of eight years and six years of straight double digit wins that’s super impressive so I side with sha mcder in terms of the coaching matchup all right look this is the first regular season matchup in 25 years between 10 win teams with zero Super Bowl titles it’s kind of why it’s so intriguing Between the Lions and the bills Detroit Two and a Half Point favorites at home the total is 54 and a half if you’re playing this game how are you playing it well I’m taking the underdog when you look at this line Vegas is basically telling us Russ they believe this will be a close scoring Affair anytime you anticipate seeing a close scoring a fair I always side with the team that’s getting the points and outside of that Josh Allen hasn’t been an underdog a lot in his professional career but when he’s been an underdog he’s 18 10 and two he’s won 63% of the times as an underdog that’s a very very important Trend in terms of where this game sits he is the underdog in this match up yes he’s on the road but this is a very very important game for either side especially Buffalo because he saw what happened last week solely because of their defense couldn’t get any timely stops I believe sha mcder will have that defensive side much prepared they will be more competitive and we know Josh Allen is going to do Josh Allen like things so I’m taking Josh Allen getting two and a half the hook is very very important Russ but you know how I like to rock and roll from time to time I’m not ashamed to buy points so if you want to buy this up to maybe three three and a half it’s okay because it’s like giving Insurance to your potential bet but I’m taking the underdog in this spot like I said Josh Allen he’s covered 63% of the times he’s been an underdog I love that stat all right look hey a lot of eyeballs going to be on this one two amazing teams and the odds on favorites to meet in the Super Bowl man it’s going to be good between the bills and the lions on Sunday BM thanks so much and what a slate of games we have for you Sunday on CBS first at 1:00 Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs visiting jamus Winston to the Browns Texans welcoming Tua and the Dolphins to Houston and then 425 Jared Goff in the Lions Josh Allen in the bills possible Super Bowl preview oh by the way you can also stream all the action on Paramount plus
