[Music] back here on CBS Sports HQ presented by FanDuel Monday night football kicks off with two NFC North teams that are heading in very opposite directions if you will we have the 11 and2 Vikings on one hand who have clinched a playoff birth versus a Bears team that is dropped seven in a row but Jeremy we know divisional matchups they can get kind of wonky anything can happen in prime time we’ll see how it all goes down with the Bears and the Vikings on Monday Night Football so let’s break down this matchup and welcomeing somebody who is very very familiar with the division the Chicago Bears that is Kyle long and Kyle as mentioned uh Chicago they dropped seven in a row as a player if you were in that locker room in that position where you’re you’re towards the bottom of the division you’re in prime time though how do you prep for a divisional rival who is just rolling right now well first and foremost it doesn’t matter who we’re playing you know that the eyes of the football Universe are upon you and you are on a team that has lost seven straight games in the fashion that they lost last week in Santa CLA quite frankly it was embarrassing and I got to say they have an opportunity to go and get that taste out of their mouth regardless of who they’re playing I know they’re playing the red hot Minnesota Vikings and it’s a star studded Affair Monday Night Football NFC North rivalry but at the end of the day they took this team to overtime just a few weeks ago and they held Justin Jefferson to some pedestrian numbers albeit Addison was very loud hackinson had over a 100 yards so it wasn’t like they stopped this offense but this team went Toe to Toe with the Minnesota Vikings you got to go to Minnesota now and get a win it’s going to be tough and I know that uh Minnesota’s a great team but as they say Any Given Sunday and and maybe some Mondays too Jacqueline I’m hoping that the Bears will go out at the very least look competitive I was uh very disappointed in their effort with Thomas Brown as the interim head coach in his first showing in Santa clar this past week uh yeah it’s hard to believe that it’s Owen and seven since starting the season 4-2 for the Bears let’s talk about cayb Williams and his ability to take care of the football seven touchdowns uh zero interceptions in those three games since the OC was fired how impressed are you with Caleb Williams and his ability to take care of the football despite this seven game losing streak that we’re seeing from Chicago I want to preface what I’m about to say with I have been extremely impressed with Caleb Williams and I think I know that the Chicago Bears have their quarterback for the future he’s done a fantastic job not throwing interceptions but him in the offensive line they have done a poor job in terms of not giving up sacks this is one of your jobs as a quarterback is to get rid of the football and the offensive line is to protect the quarterback I would kind of rather have a quarterback as a rookie throw an interception every week and take two less sacks a game and right now I feel like they’re trying to be so perfect on offense and I’d like to see him just cut it Loose a little bit because what has been the most fun fun version of Caleb Williams uh you know having watched him play at USC it’s it’s the cut it Loose Caleb it’s the guy that’s flying around trying trying to make plays Taking Chances and when you’re going up against the Minnesota Vikings in a white out on the road and nobody has you favored to win this football game go take some chances what’s the worst that can happen you throw a pick well I’ll tell you what it affects everybody when you take sacks you get behind the sticks you lose confidence as an offensive lineman the receivers start to slap their hands after the play and then obviously the quarterback you don’t want to get hit that many times so I would say you know that they’re going to pressure you they did it last time that the Vikings played the Bears Brian Flores wants to heat up and test his rookie quarterback what does that do it leaves voids in the defense get rid of the football early and often and I promise you you’re going to like the way that you look let’s talk about the quarterback for the other team because it feels like Kyle we were coming in here every single week talking about Sam darnold saying hey when is Sam darnold going to turn into Sam darnold if you will um coming off of a five touchdown performance against the Falcons so it’s probably time that I stop bringing that topic up because it feels like he is the real deal and so are the Vikings um but I mean Kyle who would have thought thought that KK cousins is having the season that he’s having in Atlanta and then we’re talking about these kinds of numbers in terms of Sam darnold uh with Kirk o Chain’s old job you know it’s really nice to see that if you have a couple good offensive linemen a brilliant offensive head coach somebody who’s played the game at the highest level and you’ve got a quarterback with some of these intangibles that ends up getting you drafted in the first round you’re going to have success it’s kind of like uh the team on the other sideline should take notes jacine and for Sam darn it’s been so impressive and as much as I’m part of the media and I want to say when’s he going to turn into a pumpkin the guy has spit in my face every week he’s been fantastic and last week was the icing on the cake I really believe in this Vikings team and I think Sam darnold has you know put pen to paper and he he said I ain’t writing you guys back he wrote himself a letter he said I’m not going to write anybody back I’m just going to dominate teams week in week out that’s what he’s done they’ve won seven uh six straight games and he has a plethora of guys to throw the football to when they want to cover Jefferson he throws to somebody else if they want to cover those two guys it’s hackinson he doesn’t feel too much pressure where he has to throw it all the time they can run the football as well it’s a great thing they got going in Minnesota I’m very happy for Sam darnold and I think they’re a major threat moving forward all right let’s talk about that let’s talk about the Vikings moving forward because they have clinched a playoff spot but there is H still a pathway from them to get to the top of the division just the NFC in general if we’re looking at the remaining schedules some of the injuries that the lions are now dealing with how do you think it all shakes out kind of paint the picture for us in terms of the division and the NFC when it’s all said and done Kyle well that injury report is the great equalizer you know everybody in their mama knows that Detroit Lions roster when healthy is probably the best in football and you couple that with their demeanor their personality and they’re a scary group and not many teams want to play them uh but as for the Minnesota Vikings they’ve kind of matriculated their way through the season and gotten a little bit better as it’s gone on I’ve been really impressed with them and I think that they can match up with anybody obviously you have to stop the Detroit Lions uh their offense but we’ve seen um the Minnesota Vikings be able to put points up at a really astronomical clip so it’s going to be a lot of offense in this NFC Playoffs we’ve seen Philadelphia uh seemingly fixed their offensive Wes yesterday with Jaylen Herz and his buddy AJ Brown getting after In The End Zone love to see that for the Eagles and you know the NFC they’re coming along strong we always think about the AFC as the Blue Bloods uh and while they do have these great quarterbacks these Marquee named quarterbacks don’t sleep on this NFC man because they’re a tough group you know top to bottom out of all the playoff contenders including the Minnesota Vikings yeah it feels like the in the hunt teams that are at the top are a little bit different every single week and that’s you know shout out to the NFC West because that division has been absolutely crazy Kyle let’s get a pick for this game Vikings favored by a touchdown total at 44 and a hook what do you like what’s the pick I think if it was at Soldier Field I’d be able to take the Bears with the points but it’s going to be a white out it’s going to be crazy this team is riding that big momentum and confidence is a hell of a drug Sam darnold is on it in bunches right now so I’m going to go with the Vikings here in Minnesota for the white out all right Kyle we certainly
