these Vancouver Canucks man another road win off the Stick of a jake de Brusque hattrick OT winner great shot all of a sudden this team’s third in the Pacific and only four points back a top spot with two games in hand and look there were other teams during the offseason who made some great moves are in some cases held firm and stayed the course and are really benefiting from it so far this year but you look at what the Canucks have already had to deal with not even two months into the season your star goalie is yet to play a game you lose one of the team’s Main hardbeats and arguably their most important and best forward for an indefinite amount of time your second best defenseman and best right shot option is out one of if not the best pure goal scorer on the team who scored 40 last year missed some time and you without a really important middle six piece for the first month and change of the season fresh off signing him to a four-year extension the hockey gods did not go easy on the connects to start the season here things could have gone pretty South pretty quickly instead yes their leader Quinn Hughes has been all World Pon has been a lot better and has stepped up lately Garland has been really key to their success that OT winner threw his own legs the other day was just sick I loved it but how about alven and Rutherford’s offseason acquisitions coming in like a night and shining armor here we made a video a couple weeks ago talking about how good and how valuable kefir Sherwood has been for this team still leads the league in hits by the way by a wide margin has cooled off a bit offensively but you didn’t sign him to be a top six producer he’s so versatile he’ll give you good minutes up and down the lineup especially when besser was out or Joshua earlier in the year this is a guy you really had to count on and he delivered for 1.5 what a find and how about the other lower cap hit moves branstrom scored a massive one in Detroit yesterday to tie the game at four late in the third he’s been a really good much needed depth add to that canu blue line and they got him for Tucker Pullman in a fourth and he makes under a mill this year then there’s Kevin lanan who makes even less than branstrom and just made NHL history by being the first scalie ever to start 10 and0 on the road with Demco out how much do that help shilov and the Canucks in general having lanin in there and of course can’t forget about Jake debras who’s on a heater right now I’m loving his game right now he’s playing the Ryan Smith special he’s getting rewarded for being in front of the net where he needs to be yes but he’s being smart Around the Net and he’s making sure he remains dangerous there as the play develops he’s really stepped up offensively since JT Miller has been out and even with the big boys Hughes Pon besser Garland producing you look at how clutch some of these Acquisitions have come in it’s like where would this team be without them and it’s not like these are huge Blockbuster moves like yes the debrusk signing was big but Sherwood was signed with bottom six money branstrom was a depth trade like right before the season started and lanen and makes it close to league minimum and was signed in the middle of training camp bet you there’s a few teams wishing they had a guy like him right about now and it’s not just the GM and president who should get all the flowers here like how about that Pro scouting Department in Vancouver it’s not always the big swings that can make your team better even protect protect your team in the case of losing some key players those base hits can really add up instead of going for the big home run swing now that’s not to say big swings are always a bad idea cuz that’s just not the case but I love what the Canucks have done here to insulate themselves it’s been cool to watch as usual let me know your thoughts thank you so much for watching I’ll see you in the next one you’re awesome
