David calaba we’re back around the NHL rumor segment here guys we appreciate the love you’ve been showing us on YouTube on on Twitter Phil press NHL are around the rumor segments have been great turning him into great articles and feedback and people are talking and you know I got to give uh David a lot of credit for his trade proposal because I’m going to be honest I’ve heard heard a couple from couple people and they said the one about zis and Byrum is not far-fetched at all so David welcome and your trade proposals are great thanks Jim love doing it let’s do it let’s do it all right let’s get into it a Montreal Canadians we let off last week segment with the Canadians we got to start with them again another not so great performance we’ll keep it light here against uh you know the Utah hopy Club who came off a drubbing by the Toronto map leavs Utah come in there you know Sev a former draft pick of uh the Canadians the revenge tour comes through but it just think seems like things are not getting better in Montreal and in fact it feels like they’re going backwards instead of going forwards yeah it’s a defeated scene in Montreal I think you know last night was definitely a game to forget I don’t think they even should have got a point 13 shots on goal is never acceptable in a in an NHL game and it’s two nights in a row they fail to even get 20 shots and I think Montreal is hitting even they’re going even lower they’re spiraling even harder now you know you would think a few weeks ago they hit rock botom but now it’s you know the core the core guys s kovski DC they haven’t really got it going they got demoted and the message doesn’t look like it passed another rough game by them and I’m curious to see with line back in the fold if St Louis really sits one of them in the Press Box and gives them an even harder lesson because you know not to put the blame on just them but you know you got paid you’re right slowski he got paid it’s time to you know really step it up here in Montreal because Suzuki and Coffield can’t do it alone no they’re struggling because of it yeah and and you mentioned no line you know new Hook is there doc guys slavoski you know we talk about it and everybody made a big deal about in Philadelphia when mitchoff mat mitchoff got at for a couple of games but it’s part of the process as John torella said and when I asked Macklin celebr and it was a different you know scenario because he got hurt early on but he says you can learn a lot from watching and sometimes you knew need to watch I mean the Devils did it with yesper bat for many times for his inconsistent play they made him a healthy scratch early in his career made him sit upstairs to watch the game like sometimes it’s okay if you’re a young player but I always go back to what gour Miller said on uh and I’m going to give him credit because I really respect gour Miller here he said this when they drafted slavkovsky he almost wondered if they should have sent them back to let him play and develop over there before bringing him into the lineup yeah for sure in year one he didn’t look like he belonged there at all and a duw concern but then obviously year two he kind of found his game because he knew what wasn’t working and what was working but now this year it’s just he’s just like hit rock bottom because when you put the contract into perspective he’s not playing like an NH Aller no he’s not and you can’t do anything about it because now the contract signed and look I’m not crazy to say send him down to the AHL but like you said scratching him might be the best case scenario for him to really watch up there and you know let it I don’t think it kicked in that he’s the Ford line because he played with guys like Kirby Doc and Joel Aria who have never been Ford liners you know I think a message really needs to be sent out there and it’s not just lowski Kirby Dak as well you know um obviously he was injured and same L said it himself he didn’t think it would take this long for him to find this game you know we’re 20 games into the season something’s got to give and it just I feel like he’s fallen even worse from game one no it makes sense no it makes sense start to cut you off there but I think it makes sense because even go back to his time in Chicago when he got hurt and then he come back it took him a while to do it and then he I think just the injuries and the mentality of coming back from these injuries for c a guy like Kirby doc really is just hurt and you almost wonder if like if the the monreal Canadians do make a trade that if you think maybe Doc is a guy that gets be a part of the package you know because you know they have guys there Jo arm’s names out there Christian Dvorak we know David savard’s name is going get moved we we most likely think and maybe you could put like 85% on it 90% on it that Saar will probably get moved but you look at it and if you really want to shake things up you got to decide who is part of this core if you’re Kent Hughes and you’re you know Jeff Gordon moving forward yeah and I’ll say one thing you know a from a year ago today and to now Kirby Doc is definitely more expandable you know I think a year ago kuse what it hung up on them but now may I’m not saying he’s on the trade block but I’m saying maybe you know if things don’t pick up he might not be here anymore but do you think so do you think yeah no do you think though I I think here’s my issue with it here because I’ve said this before I’ll say it again do you think once Patrick Lon comes back into this lineup we gonna see a better Kirby dock I think that’s what we’re hoping for we’re really hoping to see Kirby do play with a you know Patrick l injury or not he’s a proven 40 goal scorer so if Kirby Dak can do it with him who could he do it with that’s kind of that’s kind of going to be the question here in Montreal when lony comes back and you know I I also have a little scoop maybe we might see Patrick Ry in the lineup this weekend I would like to see that and he came on the trip look obviously I reported that December 3rd could be his first game back but um things aren’t going well in Montreal and look if they want to if they’re trying to save L for his first home game that’s one thing but you know if they’re trying to really get a win this weekend they might get L back earlier than expected but hey that would that would be great I mean Patrick l early in the lineup That would be huge for this team I think it would be a bolt to this team yeah and look I also want to shout out something in Montreal you know when you’re trying to compete or when you’re trying to just improve you need your bottom six to step up and I want to give a shout out to their bottom six here because their bottom six is coming to play Evans has 10 points Anderson has 10 points Gallagher has 11 points eight goals the vorak has eight points you know those are legit numbers for bottom six guys here and what’s the problem our top six isn’t stepping up imagine if it all came together could be a much different season here in Montreal no EXA exactly and I know you know talking with people and fans you know before the season you always say oh well you know people in Montreal are like oh we want another top 10 draft pick top five draft pick but do you really because here’s the thing you’re supposed to get closer this year like you’re not supposed to draft in the top five again no no definitely not I mean you need results and um right now the Canadians sit second last in the National Hockey League yeah that’s not good I rejected a pick top three right it’s early but you would think they’d be higher now than in a month from now so one more before we move off and we go around NHL too staying with Montreal um you know I mentioned armia Dvorak you know theard those guys most likely will not be Canadians to finish the season correct yeah um I think the vorox are a bit of a harder contract to move but um going Beyond this season I don’t see much of their ufas thing other than maybe Jake Evans but even Evans could be moved correct Evans could be moved but I think it’s going to be like really hard to treat him kind of like leenan in 2022 if they get the right offer he’s gone but until then I think they they like to keep him but we know savard’s definitely going to a playoff team potentially yeah for sure I I wouldn’t hold it against no I wouldn’t hold it against him either I think that that’s a smart move uh you know a name that’s been out there we’ve kind of you know we started it last week and kind of started to kind of pick up but David Urich continues to be out there uh you know broke it that the the time is coming it’s just not a matter of if but when and the when seems to be dragging on but we we know it’s coming in Columbus we know David urich’s gonna get traded it’s just a matter of where he gets traded and we said oh pipe dream could be the Montreal Canadians but when you have scouts at your game Columbus scouts at a game you call up a guy like Joshua w you start to put the puzzle pieces together you know people say Edmonton and they say no Nashville no again the caveat with any trade is you’re not out if you’re out you can be back in with one phone call yeah so you can’t rule anybody out of this thing no I don’t think there’s really a one and two you know like a top Two Front Runners here I think it’s really wide the teams for year Che no so we’ve seen Pittsburgh we’ve seen Philadelphia Edmonton Nashville San Jose anahim Minnesota I want to focus in on San Jose for a minute I think if he did go there it actually makes sense because of the team that they’re trying to build there that’s actually a good fit for him it makes a lot of sense they need a right hand D they do but the issue is is what are they going to give up because they like their what they have there it’s GNA have to take one of their young pieces not um we’re not talking celebrini Smith or Dickinson here but Quinton musty you know musty maybe Eckland ekan o that that won’t be tough that one that would be expensive that be that would be expensive because like we’ve said with Minesota Marco Rossi really I mean I tweeted it yesterday they went Minnesota fans but that might be the cost to acquire a blue chip Prospect it is the cost I mean you saw I mean askarov went for I mean he did go for nothing but again Barry TR is moving out guys in Nashville like the like former first round picks that aren’t his guys like they’re pieces of candy like yeah you’re just he’s just handing them out because he wants his guys there but if you really want to get a Blue Chip Prospect like that you’re gonna have to pay a cost yeah and I’ll say one thing you know Oscar got Dr dragged out and media kind of knew about it like you know unfortunately don’t want to find out by an Insider that he requested a trade but the longer Columbus holds us out the return could slightly get worse because they even said it they didn’t want draft picks but now they’re open to getting draft picks for your jack and that brings that brings more teams in the picture here and I’m looking at Montreal Montreal I’m putting Edmonton back in there I know they don’t have the first but you still have draft picks that you could use because that’s a fit that they need they need to replace billberg you know Nashville’s there they got a first round pick they got multiple first round picks Philly’s got picks a lot of teams have picks that he would fit now you know youve heard that you know again you look at players and teams and timelines and things don’t always mesh well but I think it’s time for him to be moved on and I know his agent’s been you know hammering to get him out of there and a change of scenery yeah and look uh don wal is gonna get the best return he could for him he doesn’t care which team and and it’s tough losing a blue chip Prospect like that especially a team like Columbus you know and it’s unfortunate the way it happened but the reality is they did they sprung it on themselves they went to go acquire too much NHL D and signed too much nhld you know Damon Severson last last off season Jordan Harris Eric good Branson you know these are all guys that need to play in the NHL and you make David Ur going into the acceptable because you have too much D yeah and then you just picked up Fabro you have proov who’s also on the Block we know we know proov is probably going to get moved from that team too they they made it known that they could move him so I mean you know but they’re still in the mix so what are you gonna get I mean I think the cost for proov is gonna be less than EUR yeah for sure and I’ll ask you something Jim when you think year gets move I think if anything I think it probably get get after the American Thanksgiving I know you know we thought maybe Monday we thought maybe Tuesday but it could still happen Wednesday but it could happen before record this man exactly before we even put this up um and while you’re watching it can happen too so I got to put that caveat out there that it could happen right so I think if you look at it the holidays here if they try to squeeze it in they could get it done maybe they go until the weekend maybe a little bit after but I don’t see is dragging out I think it gets done before Christmas yeah 100% I think it even gets done before the end of next week because I know Monday they were really really close to getting a deal done and because it was flying everywhere on social media with a bunch of rumors but I think it’s teams when you hear that it’s almost done they’ll have the tendency to try and Snoop in one last time so maybe that could be the Difference Maker here well yeah when I and I go back to the Calgary and Devil’s Jacob markstrom before the the trade deadline it was done until somebody got their hands on it that shouldn’t have been involved in it and it got vetoed because they didn’t like the return so let the hockey guys take care of the business because when the hockey guys took care of the business in June with markstrom and got it got done right away so let the hockey guys handle the business speaking of hockey guys let’s go to New York right another original 16 we talk about Montreal now the New York Rangers want to come out and talk about blowing up the core Chris krider Jacob tr’s names out there multiple reports that it’s Chris jury who’s sending memos to these general managers via text messages saying that these guys are available we know trouba’s been available since the summer um it’s no secret the Rangers were trying to move that $8 million I tell everybody and I know Ranger insiders tell me no you don’t have anybody to replace him if you really wanted to get rid of him you could have been ruthless in the summer come July 1 and put him on waivers for sure and and this is the issue here I don’t know how you could have chuba as your captain with all these rumors flying around and if you’re trying to send a message itself you strip. C from him but anyways that’s another story but we’re talking about chuba here waivers yes waivers if you don’t want to be here if you don’t want this guy to be here sorry he wants to be here but if you don’t want chuba in New York anymore get it done it’s better having him gone than here and knowing that we want to get rid of this guy as of tomorrow and I’ll move to Crater here teams will want crater yeah it won’t it wouldn’t be an issue trading that contract and you know what the Rangers have found themselves a creder duplicate in the organization I think and I really like his play so far will he been amazing so far and look if he could you know keep proving that he’s a top six player it makes crer more than expandable 100% I think so too I think it makes him more than expandable I think I agree with trouba if you didn’t want him there strip him on the SE because again the room the room itself we can do a whole episode on just the room and what it’s meant to the room and the play on the ice because if you have a guy there that you don’t want there and there’s a leadership group surrounding a guy that’s well likeed but we know he’s gone it’s gonna just demoralize the room it’s gonna just send this cancerous thing through a room and guys are GNA pick sides and you could clearly see some of the players have picked Jacob tru’s side but if you could have made it happen with Detroit you could I understand the family aspect of everything I understand the wife part of it I get the residency I know we really bad but this is a a business Chris jury was ruthless with Barkley G he couldn’t find Sooners he got away he got around the no trade clause with waivers g wasn’t happy about it but that was a way around it this was a way around this no trade clause too this isn’t a no move Clause this wasn’t a no move Clause it was a no trade clause you can be put on waivers with a no trade clause yeah and look I think the room they’re kind of just waiting like they’re saying it’s okay there’s a move coming you know like we could slack like like I don’t know there’s no urgency because they’re just waiting for a move to happen yeah Rangers currently sit in a wild card spot and the record isn’t even bad but they’re just just play is awful they’re not beating good teams no they’re not beating good teams and that’s a concern and it’s probably their last year their last chance of really winning the cup but that’s my issue too not to get on a tangent your captain cannot come out and say this is our last crack as a core either exactly like that’s a problem too so I get sorry I not to cut you off but I get trying to get to Hype up your guys and say this is the year but you know the way he was said and came across it was terrible it was awful basically saying after this year we’re getting traded or like after this year I’m gone like you know well we know he’s gone after this season whether it’s this season or like in this season or at the end of this season he’s Chris H not Chris Jacob TR is gone Chris crrider I wouldn’t be shocked St Louis calls about him I wouldn’t be shocked if Boston calls about him Montreal calls about him teams will call about Chris krier again he has a 15 team no like Jacob trouba so he can dictate where he wants to go I would not be shocked to see um St Lewis and Boston are not on that list because just the ties especially to Boston I think there’s something there but I don’t think he can solve those problems Jacob trouba I mean there was a deal with Detroit and he said no and you know we could have made it work I think it would have been fine I think he could have gone home and it would have worked out fine um The Other Guys on that team you know it’s going to be tough to move guys like zad and and guys that have big dollars and there’s a reason why the go tender wants $12 million yeah and it’s been rough for zaban Jad Let’s uh let’s not sugar quoted here either no but unfortunately zabad is a contract that you’re kind of stuck with you know8 million doll for few more like a lot more years actually five six years yeah but anyways going on Crater I see Boston as the ideal fit he just fits that breu staple and I don’t know what a trade could look like for Chris ker here but it has to involve a first round pick and something yes but it all depends on if salary gets retained or not because at the end of the day salary is the devil and you’ve seen great players get traded for nothing essentially because of salary C right even with the cap going up and and stuff and you’re gonna have to get an impact player back in return because Cryder is an impact player so and this is why shurin wants $12 million to play in front of him structure it’s relying on goal tending too much so and and you know speaking of goenda level game so I want to throw this one out to you since you like to do trade proposals I’m gonna throw some out myself in regards to goal tending everybody assumes that McKenzie blackwood’s going to be the one traded from San Jose to Colorado what if I told you that Mark Andre Flair and dorier V is a better fit in Colorado than Mackenzie Blackwood it’s not ridiculous at all because these are veteran goalies and you’re compared to Blackwood you know like flurry has playoff experience he has every experience like his resumes full flurry I think he should go get a starters position at this point in his career he a pending fre agent at the end of the season and Colorado I would I like that fit a lot Colorado and flurry it makes a lot more sense that Blackwood because Blackwood you know he’s not as proven as varal love and flurry if that Mak sense no no it does I mean look I know flurry said he this is his last year and everything and you’ll see if Minnesota’s still in contention but it just makes more sense because the block on Blackwood was last year in Ka and was can they get it done on good contending teams they’re doing it on a team that’s not contending and they’re getting all these wins I think Blackwood in talking with some people in San Jose they really like Blackwood with oscaro moving forward and they could be willing to move a guy like vanich instead yeah for sure I think those are some options I know everybody links Gibson too and everything I just don’t know if Colorado has the salary that they want to do I mean where where do you think John Gibson can go Colorado Carolina do that make sense before I go on Gibson I’ll just say Colorado needs to address it asop yes any going to Gibson look I think you can’t count out Oilers on Gibson you know there is a rumor that he’d wave for Edmonton and Carolina’s been there before and two years ago they almost got a deal done with Gibson in Carolina so and I think it’s all going to depend on is Anderson healthy enough to finish the season because he’s only back in in like three months four months best case scenario but look Gibson I’m just I can’t believe he’s still on Anaheim every year he’s in these trade rumors and it just hasn’t gotten done but the reality is he has all the leverage yeah he does because he get he gets to go where he wants and I hear everybody saying oh he’s not a great fit in Edmonton look a lot of goali have gone to Edmonton and have not worked out the Oilers have their own defensive problems but if they can play in front of Defense in front of Gibson Gibson is proven he can win you games and he’s won Anaheim games early in his career in the playoffs and he’s won them games let’s be honest during this tumultuous time in his rebuild that they had no business winning because he can play he can still play and I think he would be great in Carolina again I’m not sure about the fit in Colorado but I agree Colorado needs to address it I think Carolina look they got away with it against Dallas we’ll see what they do against the Rangers but if they’re giving up F four or five goals a game they’re gonna have to score six or seven a game to win yeah and I think they want to have a goal tender in there that can stop the the puck especially with Co Che off Anderson’s hurt they don’t have Ron anymore so they they’re definitely going to want to address it it’s going to be interesting and I just want to mention one more before we get out of here Pittsburgh right during all these rebuild retool rumors who are you sending back to these teams that have all these great developmental prospects that you want on your team for your rebuild who are you sending back who who is Pittsburgh sending yeah I don’t know they really hit rock bottom and it’s at this point now that let’s hope we finish as low as possible to get some draft prospects to get some good prospects out there because the reality is all their guys that are that could get traded for some value have no trade Clauses no movement Clauses and have just no money no chance of getting traded yeah no it makes sense no it’s just there’s just too much going on in Pittsburgh you know obviously we saw with the coaching changes is Monty going to St Louis we seen you know is brunette going to be the next guy to go Lon then Detroit Cronin anahim you know what are they gonna you know who else could move uh throw one more at you hypothetically you know if things don’t really turn around or you don’t see subtle improvements even though people say there are improvements in their metrics and on the ice but if the eye test doesn’t change with the Montreal Canadians could that be something that could be considered down the road I mean you have to you know no one’s safe and especially in coaching no one’s safe even if you think you’re you have the best tied relationships but I think if things continue to spiral um there has to be a discussion of are we gonna get St Louis help are we gonna demote him maybe to a a lier role and get a head coach but I I just I don’t see a ro where he leaves this organization ation because they fire him it would have to be on his own terms and that’s just the friends and family side of business yes it is and similar to what we see in the Islanders if Patrick Wall’s gonna leave it’s gonna be because he wants to leave because I don’t know if Lou is gonna be do it but Lou’s got to worry about his own job and that’s another Rumor for another time but guys around yeah but this has been around NHL rumors
