[Music] so Nick Robertson has actually been scoring again for the Toronto Maple Leafs or at all this year he has not been particularly great for them and if you’ve been following this channel for a little bit you know that I am quite critical of him okay I’m not the hugest fan of Nick Robertson and today we did get word Now The Insider said it was relatively speculative but the Colorado Avalanche were actually linked to Nick Robertson before um and so this actually kind of might make sense and again I always said it as soon as this kid’s value is high you should probably trade him I I was a proponent of trading Nick Robertson before the actual season even started like for example when he was having a great preseason I was like trade him tra trade him you have a perfect chance to trade him and if he goes on a little bit of a tear on the third line trade him well his value is high okay again you might not be able to get that much for him but there’s no evidence that this guy is a consistent top six player uh you know he is honestly kind of mid he struggles winning battles he struggles in his own uh Zone he’s not really that great um he’s got a good shot but his allaround offensive game isn’t that impressive in terms of passing he always just gets into the zone and shoots it he he doesn’t really make plays you know what I mean so again I I just don’t understand what why the Lea didn’t make the smart decision now maybe they weren’t offered anything before the season started I I I don’t really know that could be it um but I I would traded him when his value was very high and again as for what the Colorado Avalanche could give the Maple Leafs just take a pick man I mean at the end of the day the Maple Leafs are going to need picks for the trade deadline now I guess you could counter what I’m saying with the fact that well maybe maybe the lease are using Nick Robertson as a trade chip like perhaps they’re going to wait till they need a defenseman cuz this actually might make sense like maybe they could use it to package with a center maybe Nick Robertson goes on a bit of a tear on the third line again if Nick Robertson goes on a tear this season guys like let’s because the le le third line has been performing very very well you know if they end up going on a tear that’s actually like a really really really good thing it’s it’s it’s really really really good because that will up his value right you have to think the Maple Leafs are going to use Nick Robertson as a trade chip and they should be using him as a trade chip it’s honestly really really smart to do that you know trade him well you have the fraking chance now as for centers that they could get I’ve I’ve already gotten over all those I really don’t foresee fras Fraser Minon being a huge impact player this season so they’re going to need something else Yanni gour bug stad something like that now is is Nick Roberton going to get you a player like that one for one of course not because these teams are probably going to want um a first round selection I wouldn’t doubt that Yanni gour Seattle Kraken are going to want a first round selection for him anyways I’m getting a little bit off track here but I I’m just I’m in the camp of raise Nick roberton’s trade value and get rid of him trade him when a stock as high and and just trade him I you know I don’t understand why this is so complex for some people and I mean this trade rumor does make a lot of sense because again he I have to think the Leafs are probably looking for a trade for him too uh what I’m thinking in my opinion is that they probably just haven’t been able to find they probably just haven’t been able to find something that makes sense for them I wonder if the map Leafs are just asking too much or something like that we’ve seen a lot of teams make trades now albeit those teams are kind of terrible um you know I mean it’s not like the leades are going to get Mo Ranon or something like that like Nick Robertson is mid but again for whatever reason the Colorado Avalanche seemed to be interested the Colorado Avalanche and the and Nick Robertson’s name have been have been linked a couple of times and you you have to think that you know calls between management that name has definitely come up now when it comes to the Colorado avalan and the leas being involved in any potential trade I cannot imagine that they would get a center back from Colorado so again you know what the when it comes to these two specific teams it might not make actual sense for them to make a trade because maybe the avalanch don’t have a center like I just want them to gather assets that they can use to get the centerman that they need and again the Leafs are probably going to need a defenseman as well right I mean they had you know they had Luke Shen I would love for them to get Luke Shen by the way you know he was fantastic for them in the series against Tampa you know he beat the R out of Tanner Jan know but you know you just you just need to fill out this roster a little bit more they’ve had scoring depth issues now I understand that you’re going to say to me well they have scoring depth issues why not keep Roberts and he’s finally starting to score the question is is I I’m just not a fan of him as a player overall I don’t think he’s going to be able to score that much in the playoffs either especially when the game tightens up you’re going to be looking for a little bit bigger players he’s going to be playing against you know monster Decor if you want this team to go on any type of run you know is this the player that’s actually going to do anything right like the the you know it’s great that he looks fancy skating down the ice and firing one in the net but I I I don’t know I’m just not a huge fan of his you know I remember when when pre-season was when he had his you know preseason hero scores a bunch of goals in preseason everybody’s like oh he’s going to score 50 and I’m like no he’s not uh he not scoring 50 in the National Hockey it’s just ridiculous as soon as he starts playing against NHL players he just can’t play anymore um and the whole time I was like dude if you can even get a third round pick for him you’re going to need that at the deadline just take it I would have tried to get a second round pick in my opinion but whatever man just just move this guy but yeah no I think the the the The Insider is RF Dean that um that that said that there’s a trade rumor between the Colorado Avalanche and the Leafs anyways uh okay so I’m just going to leave this video
