just recently we had one of the most inevitable trades finally take place that being Cody Bellinger to the New York Yankees on the other side of the trade Spectrum there is a trade that feels like it is never going to happen and that is Nolan arado being traded out of St Louis to anybody word came down late today that Nolan aronal decided to invoke his no trade clause killing a potential deal to the Houston Astros and word was this was close this was one of the final steps that needed to happen now that makes me wonder wouldn’t you if you’re the Cardinals this is shining a light on on maybe some skeletons in their closet if you are the Cardinals wouldn’t you make sure sure ronado is on board with this before you get close on a deal with the Houston Nationals I mean we’ll come back to this in just a second uh but he has a wish list of teams Dodgers Padres Angels Phillies Mets and Red Sox not the Houston Astros we’ll go back to the Astros slide here so why are we even doing this if we are the St Louis Cardinals front office I believe I have a reason why and we’ll get into that my question is to you the viewer do you think this is going to happen or are we just going to run in circles around this Nolan AR ronado thing all off seon until maybe the Cardinals are willing to really move him feels like right now we’re still maybe in the early days of their of their desire to trade already so they’re trying to find a team that will take a significant portion of the contract or will send something significant back they can’t have both of those things it’s just not going to happen and again we are look I mean the fact that we were close with the Houston trade is maybe somewhat uh progress heading closer to a trade because we had the Yankees before the whole wish list thing even came out Jack curry with all of the Yankee rumors shot down any potential trade here that the Yankees don’t view arado as a fit and outside of the rumors we did get this about a week ago a ronado had a a wish list six teams that he would approve a trade to as we looked at just a few moments ago Dodgers Padre’s Angels West Coast teams he’s on board Phillies Mets and a Red Sox are teams that he would approve a trade to teams that are looking to win now or are in the Red Sox case on the rise and things look very promising in Boston now the Dodgers sort of top of this list I feel most people if you were to ask them to make a prediction where do you think Nolan aado what the heck did I just say where do you think Nolan arado is going to go you would predict the Dodgers but the problem is the Dodgers are making public statements or telling David V anyway that they expect Max Muny to be the opening day third basement the Dodgers don’t need Nolan arado maybe they would like to have him but not for what it’s going to take to give up we’ll dig more into the Dodgers in a moment what’s the problem here I will be telling you something you already know but we will run it back one more time money is a big issue here you see fan graphs the way the salary breaks down the next three seasons the Rockies remember how they sent some money to help get this deal done it’s really not that much it’s it’s $5 million a year so when you plug him into baseball trade values whether you love it or hate it agree with it or disagree with it I think everybody can can agree that Nolan AR ronado carries a negative value at this point so for the St Louis Cardinals to actually get a deal done they are going to have to include money or they’re going to have to include a prospect could you imagine trading Nolan arado and adding a prospect to the deal well if they don’t want to eat any of the money that’s the road they’re going to have to go down the more logical sense thing to do here is add some money into the deal and it’s not like you have to eat all of it what was the value on baseball trade values it’s negative 16 and a half throw $15 million into the deal then you can actually start having a conversation here or be willing to take back something from another team again diving into each team that is on this list first up the Dodgers we have on the channel and and I encourage you to check out some of our blockbuster trade videos run through how you could get this done and there is honestly it’s it’s it’s kind of easy uh it’s just a matter of the money here so if the Dodgers would send uh Chris Taylor and Tony gonsolin to the Cardinals we can get this done if the Cardinals will include $8 million that’s all they would need to include and Chris Taylor you’re out of that thing at the end of this season this works for both sides and you get Tony gonel and if you’re the Cardinal so look this is a baseball trade values trade this is a this is a gym trade this is not something that Dodgers and Cardinals are talking about and again uh the Dodgers GM Gomes has said that Max mun’s going to be the third baseman so they have maybe have zero desire as it is for Nolan AR ronado but if they did the trade is there when you think about the San Diego Padres we’re hearing Dylan CE obviously this is that there’s no Dylan CE and no lar ronado scenario under any uh additional elements I don’t think you can do that at all Louisa rise maybe is somebody you could think about but arise carries a positive value of of just over $5 million you got the negative 16 million so you got a $20 million gap here and as it is with his arbitration dollars in St Louis situation I don’t think they would want to take on the arise contract anyway but arise could play first base uh Paul gold Schmid’s gone if you’re a St Louis team trying to remain competitive one way you could explain it to your fan base is by trading Nolan aado for Lis arise you’re going to have to include some money in the deal to make it work but at least you would be able to look your fan base right ahead and say we’re still trying to compete in the division cuz Luis rise is one hell of a hitter how about the angel situation well there’s one major problem here and it’s that Nolan Nolan ronado plays third base and Anthony randone also plays third base and Anthony rendon’s contract is massively underwater as well so this just I mean it doesn’t work there is no way and now we know Anthony randone is going to play probably 50 games this year but even still the the the allotment of of of the funds that is headed towards randone kind of makes this impossible unless the Cardinals ate every single penny of it Philadelphia Phillies are an interesting one but here we go again we just don’t have the matchup here the they don’t they don’t uh make good trade Partners Alec bow is available but Alec bow carries a $25 million value remember we have ative -16 for our boy Nolan so we’re not even close on that trade and well you might say well hey let’s get Nick castios in the deal well I don’t think the the Cardinals are going to have any interest in moving on from arado and then taking on the Nick Castellanos contract that doesn’t work and you could say well what if we do Bowman castanos uh for arado and we’re still we’re we’re getting closer we are at a negative $10 million value for a negative $16 million value but part of the goal here if you are the Cardinals is to get out from the financials if you’re doing that deal you’re not really getting out from any Financial hardships the New York Mets is there a trade for the Mets you’ve got Starling Marte you’ve got Jeff mcneel could you do a Marte for arado deal here Marte is not owed nearly as much as ronado this again this may be the best option again it doesn’t get the Cardinals completely out from underneath the financials but it puts them in a better spot cuz Marte is not anywhere near the arado contract uh the Boston Red Sox the underwater contracts that they have story it’s too much M masataka Yoshida again too much uh the Lucas gelo I don’t think the Boston Red Sox are interested in trading Geo I think he works into their rotation plans so all in all here we have a difficult time trying to find a trade partner unless the Cardinals are willing to include some money again the the best trade might be the Dodgers trade where the Cardinals get Chris Taylor and Tony gonin they have to send $8 million though with Nolan arado still I mean again you’re getting out of the Chris Taylor contract at the end of the year there is a $4 million buyout on top of that uh that you would have to pay uh but that from an impact standpoint feels like it could help the Cardinals uh but maybe from a if we’re just trying to get out of the money situation Starling Marte and a metch trade could be there again the values match up arado is owed far more than Starling Marte maybe there’s a deal to be had there either way it doesn’t look like the way this is progressing what the Cardinals are willing to accept is anything that the rest of the league uh is looking to accept or Nolan arado is willing to accept after shooting down this Astros trade what do you think comment down below will we see an ronado trade or are we going to do this dance all off seon that’s going to do it for me everybody I appreciate you coming in and spending time with the channel make sure to hit that like on the way out and remember if it’s low let it go and if it’s High Let It Fly
