what is up you guys welcome back to start this video we have some trades to go over that have transpired the past few days my Detroit Tigers have made a move this off season they added to the rotation by signing Alex cob the righty from Cleveland according to Ken Rosenthal and John Haymon Rosenthal tweeted out free agent right-hander Alex Cobb in agreement with tiges on one-year contract sources tell the athletic John Hayman shed some light on the details he said Alex C passed physical he’s a tiger he’s getting 15 million next year plus a $1 million uh incentive if he pitches 140 Innings and another $1 million if he pitches 150 Innings so some incentives included in the deal it’s okay it’s not what I wanted them to do there were a lot of other guys I wish they would have went after in regards to the starting pitcher market number one was Shane Bieber I know he’s already signed a one-year deal with the Guardians you know he’ll be out for maybe about first half of the Season probably recovering from injury still uh he’s a guy I wouldn’t have minded another guy I really wanted the Tigers to get which they still can I think that is Walker buer I think Walker ber is a guy that the Tigers have to get when when when I heard the rumors that Walker ber was in discussion with the Oakland or excuse me the Athletics just the Athletics it blue my freaking mind so to me if he’s having discussions with the Athletics that have no home whatsoever uh why aren’t the Tigers in on Walker buer they should be uh Chris illage has to spend some damn money this offseason I tell you that but spend it wisely please your God spend it wisely now despite 760 million not being enough to entice juano to stay in Pinstripes the Yankees have now pivoted and decided to delegate that money elsewhere and their first move is adding Max freed to the rotation Jeff Pon tweeted out left-hander Max freed and the New York Yankees are in agreement on an 8-year $218 million contract it’s the largest guaranteed in baseball history for a southpaw freed he’s a two-time Allstar uh back in 2022 and last season in 2024 he came in second in Sai Young voting in 2022 since 2020 freed has posted a 2.18 erra that is the lowest amount among qualified pitchers who have thrown at least 500 Innings during that span last year he was fifth in erra in the senior circuit posting a 3.25 erra in just under 175 Innings pitched I do think it’s a great pivot for the Yankees here yes it’s another Ley that will be a part of the Yankees rotation if you’re including Nester Cortez in that formula uh Max freed he reminds me of former Detroit Tiger and former Boston Red Sox Doug Fister from the left side of course now freed and Fister have similar builds kind of tall lanky guys they have similar philosophies when it comes to pitching that is pitching to weak contact not a big strikeout guy is freed so wasn’t uh you know Doug Fister back in the day both finesse guys so honestly I think this is exactly what New York needed it’s going to be real tough for an opposing lineup to go out game one of a series ready for 98 ready for 101 with gar Cole with lights out stuff great breaking balls and what have you and then you know they’re going to go to Max freed yeah he throws 95 but you know he’s not a strikeout guy he’s a he’s a ground ball pitcher he can bring the heat but that’s not his Forte you know it’s going to be real real tough to go up against gar Cole ready for the Heat and then they’re have to dial it back or or at least Max Reed will make him dial it back or dial it back on them and you know get some weak contact so I think it’s a great ying and yang for the number one and number two spot in the Yanks rotation now topic number three uh free agent pitcher Nathan e avaldi and the Texas Rangers are in agreement on a contract according to sources per Robert Murray uh Jeff passing confirmed the news as well yaldi and the Rangers are in agreement on a three-year 70 $5 million contract again Ealy had a very solid 2024 season which included a 3.80 erra a 110 whip across 29 starts in 170 and 2/3 Innings pitched however he truly shines under the brightest lights he has a postseason record of 9 and3 a postseason ra of 305 a whip of 1.42 while striking out 82 men and allowing just 18 free passes in October his postseason performance when you look at it is essentially equivalent to Madison bumgardner what he did in October back in the early 2000s for the San Francisco Giants next topic the Blue Jays they’re finalizing a trade to acquire gold lover Andre gimenez from the Cleveland Guardians rosenell confirms it the Blue Jays are acquiring Andre jenez from the Guardians and the Blue Jays themselves said a we’ve acquired second baseman Andre Jimenez and right-handed pitcher Nick sandelin from the Guardians in exchange for infielder Spencer Horwitz and minor league outfielder Nick Mitchell now next topic this is a rumor John Paul morosi he tweets out that the tigers are showing interest in first baseman Paul goldi sour to say Goldman he’s 37 he’s two years removed from winning the NL MVP he hit 22 bombs last year with a 716 Ops while playing 154 games for the Red Birds down in St Louis now if this news came out you know and it was 2017 2018 I’d be all about it however today when the PA announcer you know reads Paul goldi first basement for you know the St Louis Cardinals up to bat next it doesn’t strike the same amount of fear in opposing pictures like it used to let’s just be honest here okay he’s not what he used to be with that said if I were the Tigers I would only you know get Paul Goldman and sign him if it was a one-year deal or a one-year with a second-year club option plus incentives in the deal incentives need to be included in this deal because it will help motivate Goldie to play better even if the team gets off to a slow start like they did last year when they had a 0.2% chance to make the playoffs you know starting uh you know August or whatever it was so I think the incentives are a nice thing for the Tigers to include in a deal for Paul Goldman I also think this move if they do make it will put a bit of pressure on Spencer torlon and letting him know that you know yeah you know although he went to the minor leagues and you came back up mid-season end of the year you know to help the Tigers go to that playoff push first base is not a given for him that he will be the Tigers opening day first baseman next year the Astros are open to trading Kyle Tucker and framber Valdez here’s a video of Astros GM Dana Brown discussing the team’s willingness to trade both Tucker and Valdez if the right uh trade comes across his desk are you looking more in free agency or trades uh to get whatever you need done yeah a combination of you know all of the above uh I had mentioned in the past that you know we we won’t take anything off the table in terms of improving this club and if we get the opportunity um to you know trade if if if we feel like this is a good fit we’ll make that trade um you know whatever the opportunity is we we’ll definitely do it if if it means improving the club are you willing to listen on C Tucker and fr Balz yeah I mean I think everybody you you would listen on all the players I don’t think that um you know you would you know turn a death deaf ear to any of these guys I think the the big thing is if you have an opportunity to to make the club better that you would you would at least listen to other clubs the Astros you know are reading the writing on the wall they they won their two World Championships they’re on the down side of things you know bragman’s going to leave verland is a free agent now you know it times are changing in Houston so I think they want to be proactive instead of reactive they they obviously don’t think they’re going to resign Kyle Tucker who’s going to be a free agent next year might as well move him now while he’s healthy I mean you can get something for for him that always makes sense Valdez I think it’s a nice throw in right I like Valdez I really do package deal I’d be all four if I were a team MLB on Fox reports that Nolan aado will be willing to accept a trade to the following teams the Dodgers the Padres the Angels the Phillies the Mets and the Red Soxs now you take a look here some of these teams have a a lot in common that being half of them are located in California specifically aado is from Newport Beach Dodgers I mean if you ask me a month ago yeah i’ see it now I don’t know I think they’re kind of tied up another team the Padre’s I could see that Padres are probably the most realistic team on this list in my opinion the Angels no no no unless unless he just wants no pressure If he doesn’t want to win win a World Series go to Anaheim guarantee you won’t win there Phillies don’t see it Mets don’t see it Red Sox possibly but if I were the Red Sox why in the hell would you want another Colorado Rocky Slugger you already saw what happened with Trevor story and to be honest noan Nado ain’t much better sorry ain’t much better and finally we have a trade to report Jeff pass and he tweets out breaking the Boston Red Sox are finalizing a trade to acquire left-hander Garrett crochette from the Chicago White Socks sources tell ESPN Jeff passen tweets out about a couple minutes later at 2 o’clock the Chicago White Socks will be receiving four prospects from the Red Socks all of whom are highly regarded sources tell ESPN the white socks in return get catcher Kyle teal their number four Prospect outfielder Brandon Montgomery the number five Prospect infielder chase mro their number 11 Prospect and right-handed pitcher Wilman Gonzalez hopefully I’m saying that right uh he’s a number 14 Prospect that’s a big freaking hall for gear crochet I’m just saying Red Sox got fleeced I mean what the hell they got fleeced ain’t getting Chris Sale out of this thing you know what I mean this ain’t no Chris Sale trade every guy who they got back was basically in their top 10 props to the white sock GM but my go if you’re a Red Sox fan I’d be a little pissed uh that’s all I got please like please comment subscribe leave your thoughts down below I’d appreciate it and as always I’m going to catch you guys later
