tell you that was the least uh inspiring win I think think that you can have against a kenpom top 15 team uh I think that that game was I’m not going to be the guy out here saying look Stripes were great but I think that you you got a little bit of a favor done by the by the guys in black and white and I think that UCLA gave that game up just from inbounds plays realistically I mean that was kind of that was kind of it uh I think that that UCLA wins that game 99 times out of a 100 uh if you you put them in that situation with like 15 minutes to go in the second half again that being this is the bounceback spot let’s pause let’s pause I’m sorry UCLA doesn’t have Ian Jackson I’m sorry they have to rely on Sebastian ma Sebastian Mack had a good game bad example I’m sorry they have to to rely on Dylan Andrew shooting one for six when we’re the ones who got a lottery pick who we have the luxury of bringing off off the bench but to the point UCLA was called for 25 fouls Carolina was called for 22 I don’t want to hear it it was uh I I did say I felt like UCLA gave the game away and Carolina capitalized it was a really weird performance where I didn’t necessarily leave saying like yes UNC is back at the same time you got to win on a neutral Court over like a top 15ish team you can celebrate that like I said it felt like it saved Carolina season now they have one more tuneup before they start ACC play or I guess really continue CU they already have you know one win under their belt against Georgia Tech but yeah for me out of this one no slow starts please like UNCC should lead wire to wire I don’t even want them to go down two Z early that’s what I’m looking for this Campbell team is really really bad they don’t do anything well offensively they shoot 30% from three as a team they’re below 50% from two they take a bunch of threes and miss a bunch of Threes like I guess even the the assist rate like under Kevin McGee Campbell has played this motion heavy scheme where they they run through they run through their bigs in the pinch post and have all sort of Cutters around them they’re not really sharing the ball that well or at least the assist numbers don’t reflect it um yeah there’s no D Oro there to back to to bail them out this like Carolina should win this game by 30 they should have it in like uh in control firmly by halftime like the the second half should be time for guys like James Brown my personal favorite Big Man on this team to to get a little bit of burn to shine a little bit yeah and I also think that getting a large margin of Victory is going to be important for for UNCC especially when you look at it through a March perspective because looking at the ACC regular season you don’t get SMU on the road you don’t get Cal on the road I think you only have four more quad One games this season just looking now uh obviously both Duke games and and then at pit and at Clemson you at Louisville at Louisville should be quad one oh sorry yeah that’ll definitely be quad one NC State could May at NC State could maybe be there but yeah I I hear your greater overall point they yeah the the the point that I’m I’m saying is just you’re not going to have a lot of resume boosting opportunities which is means that you need to win by a good margin to get your your metrics up if you want to because if you fumble against Duke or against uh against pit which are very plausible things to happen it’s going to you’re going to be sweating it out on selection Sunday unless you do something in the ACC tournament uh and look I know that that’s not what UNCC fans want to hear but it’s the reality of it I mean you’re you you’re seven and seven and five right now and you were in grave danger of being six and six you preseason top 10 team we’ve seen this movie before we have guy you don’t have to be that blunt about it but yeah you’re right they could miss the dance um that’s no surprise they they do need this to boost the metrics rise a couple spots in Kim pom rise a few spots on the net and to that extent Carolina has shot really really really poorly since they got back from Maui um they’ve only shot above 30 32% once and that was against UCLA they shot 34.8% a lot of single digit games mixed in there or single digit made three games mixed in there and a couple sub 20% from three as a team like this is sort of the the last chance for RJ Davis to show like I’m still RJ Davis uh to have one of those stat padding games where he can get five or six made threes be nice to see Kido chip in a couple too um his three-point percentage is really taking a hit over the past couple of games and on the flip side though both Ian Jackson and said Trimble have had they’re they’re currently shooting good percentages from the from three although Trimble has struggled a bit as of late as well uh and you want to see those guys continue to sustain it like see and honestly to the greater point with Seth his scoring production as a whole is tapered off a little bit since coming back from Maui um since then 19 points against Georgia Tech really bailed Carolina out that game but he’s been hovering right around 10 to 12 points in pretty much every contest since then be nice to see him have a game where he crosses the 15-point threshold um with Ian Jackson I mean I would love to see him be right at 1720 again and have another one of those confidence boosters just headed into ACC play and yeah I mean it I’m I’m curious to see what the rotation looks like I thought the minute distribution against UCLA was perfect um it’s kind of what I’d like to see for every game for UNCC going out but uh just how Hubert continues to utilize these how many guards is it four CAU AR J Seth Ian yeah I’ll throw Drake Palin there those five guards who are like the five best players on the team how do you how do you maximize their minutes how do you find the right play small ball Ultra small ball Drake Powell at the five I don’t hate it guy I really don’t like I mean it beats Jaylen Washington it does this the the fiveman situation still is so Bleak for this team that I think you should at least try that lineup against Campbell what do you have to lose it’s Campbell you know you won’t but I wish he would I think he might dude we’ve like cuz Carolina has been playing Ian Jackson at the four in crunch time these last couple of games against both Florida and UCLA it was CDO RJ Seth at the one through three and then Ian Jackson at the four like I don’t think it’s all that far-fetched for him to just be sick of sick of these bigs not giving him as much production as he wants and he throws Drake pal out there to see what happens yeah I mean look real realistically the only like great basketball you’ve played against great teams have been the second half against Dayton and Maui uh small ball was what was working there why don’t you try turn that up to to to to nine I they played really well they played really well as second half of Florida I’d give them credit for that um although yeah I I mean look I’m still this team still has a lot to prove I’ll put it that way because I’m they did a lot of good things that second half against Florida but you need to see it sustained you need to avoid the those first half holes to I think it’s not just me I would say like the fan base at large needs to just they got to prove it you know they got to show they can do it and but but this is a game where again just take the confidence booster maybe get Kade Tyson some shots to see him make a three would be great um he’s he could be a five man he could be the five yeah why not I with witha with Kade I I think he still has like a little bit of X Factor potential and it’s it’s not even that he needs to play 20 minutes a game if he can give you 15 minutes a game and just be shooting like 37% from three something like that I think he’s at like I want to say 31% on the year somewhere in that range if he can get that get that percentage up it it just will open up more for this offense and even like Evan Mia all of Evan Mia’s lineup data has Kay Tyson in the most efficient lineups which I think is at least somewhat noteworthy um the paint is less clogged when he’s there like teams don’t ignore him like they do to Jaylen Withers or um steams are already ignoring the fiveman most games and you’re you’re having one body camped out in the paint um so this would be another game where just see what you got at in Kate Tyson see if you can get him another big shooting night like he had at Lal and build off of that going into ACC play and we’re always going to listen to Evan makawa friend of the show um so Riley what is your score prediction presented by dimer Pro I think Carolina gets it done by 30 I let’s see when’s the last time they hit a they’ve hit a they’ve only hit a 100 once this year how many times have they cracked 90 they’ve cracked it a lot they did it against Dayton they did it against uh Michigan State they did it against Lal they did it against Elon one two three yeah four five five times yeah five times this year where they crack 90 I think they get to a 100 honestly I I’m I’m going to guess it’s like 101 to 68 I struggle seeing Campbell breaking 70 maybe it happens in garbage time um this Carolina defense is still not good and struggles a lot particularly guarding ball screens but um yeah I I think this this Campbell team just they can’t shoot they don’t really have anyone who makes life easy so yeah give me a 101 to 68 final for the heels I was going to say 94 to 68 or sorry 66 I I I guess I’m being nice to Campbell uh 9466 doesn’t feel very nice in my head though so uh but I I do have it as a 28o margin uh I mean look there’s I don’t really see a world in which Campbell wins and if I think that Campbell wins I think you’re going to be seeing a lot of or even makes it close I think you’re going to see a lot of UNCC people Riley Davis included on this recap which will be here on sleepers media uh talking about how the sky is falling and uh I think think if it’s any closer than 2025 I think that the sky will be falling for for UNC I don’t predict that to happen I still think we’re going to see this UNC team in March it might not just it might just not be with a one two or three next to their name it might be with a nine 10 11 next to them I think
