all right this is an intriguing one on paper North Carolina and Florida playing in Charlotte this is the Jumpman classic tonight event uh here North Carolina and Florida playing on night one in the Hornets Downtown Arena Gators a three and a half Point favorite on the neutral floor off to the 10 and0 start North Carolina a little up and down had problems in Maui they’ve had some problems uh also since then barely put Georgia Tech away then blew out Lal all right Matt Cox start our discussion here thought on Florida and North Carolina is that line about what you would have thought it would be on a neutral floor in Charlotte yeah I think to the average Observer they might think it’s High um but those people have probably just missed how awesome Florida’s been and I think we talked about this last week the SEC at Large uh you know this is kind of an angle in football where you can look at conference versus conference as as an angle to find Value not so much in in basketball but I do think because of how dominant historically this year the sec’s been you can look at this matchup right here and say this is just another really really good SEC team with that actually could be undervalued against a potentially overvalued team in UNC that’s really been I mean solid but volatile and I think they’ve uh kept their High marks in the analytics by making these crazy second half runs I just don’t know that’s sustainable um they have real issues guarding the rim they have no physicality and Florida is built on their physicality up front with the size that they can bring in Rim protection the way they throw Rim runs in lobs they get out in transition and their guard play I mean what Walter Clayton’s doing the former I owna transfer he’s like an all Player of the Year candidate his you know almost it’s almost disrespectful to call Elijah Martin a deputy but he’s been a had a Renaissance season after that breakout year at FAU two years ago he’s healthy he looks amazing um I I just think Florida smacks him tonight you know this is keep it simple stupid handicap for me I didn’t bet it big but I did take Florida small at minus three I would endorse up to three and a half four but nothing big I just don’t think there’s a major uh value here but I do think if you want to look at that SEC versus you know non SEC power conference Edge if you think this SEC thing is real and the numbers certainly back it up how good they’ve been against other conferences another good spot to do it here tonight with Florida against a brittle UNCC team you’re about to hear an opposing view here in a moment from Jeff Nao I know what’s coming that when last we saw Florida they blasted Arizona State 8366 to get them to 10 and0 they also have those two neutral floor neutral floor in Orlando uh wins over Wake Forest and over Witchita state for what that’s worth um again this is in Charlotte a couple of hours by car from Raleigh Carolina’s closer but it is not a home situation for the Tar Heels and now Jeff N I know you’re interested in North Carolina in this matchup go ahead and here’s why uh Matt makes a lot of great points you know Florida’s really good however I mean what point on this schedule have you been that I mean they haven’t played they haven’t played Auburn they haven’t played Kansas they haven’t played Alabama they haven’t played Michigan State they haven’t played Dayton I mean Carolina has played a Murderers Row and that sets up and why I liked him in games like this throw in the fact that they are as you guys alluded to essentially at home in this game and when the rubber meets the road for as good as Clayton’s been as good as Martin’s been he ain’t RJ Davis I just think RJ Davis in North Carolina are better as far as on paper as what Florida has throw in the fact that in this number I’m getting three and a half points and I’m going to just hope that is closed I also will point out one of the issues that I’ve saw with North Carolina we saw it back in the first game of the season against Elon outrebounded they’ve actually done a pretty good job though on the defensive glass which I think if you can keep Florida off the offensive glass you’re going to have a decent go but Florida one of the sparkling things that they’ve done this year is rebound the ball in the offensive glass and they’re 10th nationally in offensive rebound percentage that said Carolina pretty good 85th nationally so I think they’re not going to be beat up too bad on the glass something just tells me this game comes down to the wire has Florida actually fixed some of the defensive issues that plag them at a pretty high level at times last season we’ll see I’m going to grab RJ Davis who’s the best player in the court give me UNC I’ll grab the three and a half here I love I love the disagreement in the back and forth here each handicapper on opposite sides but again Matt Cox you’re not officially playing this Jeff is gonna officially lock in on Carolina he gets three and a half on the BET us line here on this one and I’m just going to put this back out there uh the whole controversy with the coach Todd golden has been just completely Swept Away swept under the rug gets not resolved with multiple women accusing him of cyber stalking and inperson stalking them on the Florida campus they have pressed on they are winning games and it’s a national television game on ESPN Tonight in Charlotte and I dare say they’re not even going to bring it up that he continues to coach on over the last month with all this going on and Florida again has had a lot of success on the court I just find it fascinating that uh we don’t even know what the timeline is on the title 9 investigation that’s going on either it’s been going on since September by the way that’s another backdrop in this game yeah I think just with from a handicapping perspective it would have already impacted them I think right if that was really the thing so at this point it’s just been a they’ve been a well oiled machine to Jeff’s point just a final note on this game UNC needs this game badly like their resume right now isn’t a slam dunk High tournament seed resume like they do need some big wins so in terms of you’re going to probably get uncc’s best effort tonight Florida they’re undefeated surely you’re not going to get a bad effort but I agree with Jeff you might get the more dialed effort from the dog here Don cor hang on Don cor what he’s gonna mention I’m gonna back him up here this is this is why you have to bring it up Don quone because in this country we have a major problem with taking allegations and running with them allegations now again this is not a particularly hard investigation just look at the camera has he been stalking people on campus is what you’re alleging here the end of the day they’re allegations we need to stop taking allegations and saying oh he’s guilty let him have his day in court whenever that is at the end of the day though he is innocent till proven guilty and he’s the coach of this team and in a big game there’s still a lot of stuff being written about this I’m sure it’s going to be a talk on the broadcast tonight um so yeah you have to bring it up it’s important Noah wants you to investigate I my point is I don’t know that they’re even going to bring it up on the broadcast at this point it’s gone on now for about three weeks when all of this came to light three four weeks and it’s not resolved and there are multiple women that have text messages from him this is a married coach with little kids that have text messages from him that have examples of him cyberstalking him that they could verify through the text messages and they say that there’s even been imperson situations on campus where he came up to them Etc to meet them exact you know Etc so then that will come out but but I still don’t I don’t understand the timeline on this was all filed in September when do we start to have a resolution I’m just asking not asking you two but I’m just asking on when does that get resolved so there you go well it took a waer to Teran Shannon thing to play itself out and he you know he was still able to play criminal that was criminal charges we talked about this last year it had to work its way through which it did you predicted and many and many said there does not look like there’s a case here and he was ultimately Vindicated because the Chargers were ultimately dismissed I believe um he had to sue to get back on the court because they had suspended him indefinitely this is a player being accused who was suspended indefinitely this is a coach being accused who’s still coaching the game tonight I just thought I would add that in one more time there’s your backdrop one more time lock in Jeff Nao is on North Carolina he do care about that other crap we were talking about he cares about Carolina covering the three and a half as the underdog here and
