was balling but what a weekend of college football I mean we get it the [ __ ] overtime rules that college football has adopted decides the SEC Champion shout out to to Georgia winning that game because they’re the best they’re the better team between them and Texas at red zone offense and red zone defense that’s what we found out [ __ ] beautiful because that’s so much of the game of football I mean they played so much football remember they have that 9ot game last week God yeah I mean literally Georgia’s like can we play four quarters like can we do that but great football all weekend some big time Big Time play calls and Big Time games of fake punts I mean it was it was awesome an awesome weekend and the college fo football playoff has been set everybody’s so aggressive now play calling wise yeah everybody’s so I love it dude I love it did you have did you have a favorite game over the weekend um I mean I thought both Big 10 and SEC Championship games were were great games they were really good I mean I thought both you know all four teams and you know what else I thought the ACC Championship was a great game dude they were they were universally good there was no bad games there was no bad game I mean honestly the worst game was Iowa state versus Arizon State oh absolutely it was just not even [ __ ] close but I mean I think it’s um I think it was a great weekend you know what I mean I I I think SMU showed you that they belong in the playoffs the resume dictates it and like like we talked about I think if they lost that game by three scores you absolutely should leave them out but they didn’t they went toe-to-toe with Clemson and they did not [ __ ] around and Shout Out Rett Lashley SMU steals that last spot over Bama and boy are we GNA talk about that a little bit we’re g to talk about it it’s going to be fun how was your weekend though other than that um um I lost Devon Brown and Juan soda this weekend D so we’re [ __ ] down horrendous that tell us read between the lines what does that mean and what does that mean for the Buckeyes come December 21st because Devin Brown’s in the portal but he’s still the backup quarterback correct and so what does that mean for the Buckey in that playoff matchup with Tennessee and we’ll talk about that a little bit too so let’s get this thing rolling my question for you in the chat did the cfp get it right did the did the college football playoff committee get it right and not only that grade their job they did like like we’re in school a b c DF graded both leaving Alabama out putting SMU like $66,000 per at bat yeah and the craziest stat is if for some reason he played for 15 years right and got all the bats that he statistically should get if he has the same strikeout percentage that he currently has in his career he will get paid over a hundred million for strikeouts crazy wild times crazy you imagine all right every strike out if I strike out for 15 years the at the same clip I’m gonna get paid a 100 million I think it was 107 or 105 million a lot of for strikeouts a lot of millions a lot of millions I have no scope for where baseball contracts are going to end up I mean me and Pat kind of talked about this before we didn’t think I don’t know what you thought the final number would be I thought 700 was the absolute Peak because 700 is what Otani got yeah and a lot of high clip playing the field at a high clip like you’re getting two players in one so when you look at his salour it’s like yeah but that’s for one of our best pitchers and one of our best like actual Pat has five leagues yeah what the [ __ ] you have Pat has 20 leagues of course he’s going to make it in one but you’re going to make your and your main one you’re making the playoffs oh yeah okay I’m your bench and you’re facing him in another League that’s like that’s the that’s Peak Peak disappointment that’s the worst uh that’s the worst feeling but uh no over the weekend no no real crazy story lines except for shout out to the uh the Browns getting bow RAC beautiful but you you think that’s a flex I [ __ ] root for that [ __ ] lock that field goal big guy mean [ __ ] I saw the Giants game ended yeah [ __ ] miss field goal lock a clock right that’s your biggest op on Twitter um the world is healing Scott Frost is returning to UCF as the head coach yeah this not often I don’t know that many times this has happened I don’t know if it’s ever happened I I don’t I can’t remember the time I mean the guy builds UCF massive success gets a better job at NE Nebraska fails miserably gets fired UCF has not achieved that those Heights again and so they’re like well let’s bring him back he did it once yeah and I think it’s great for Scott Frost and I think there’s going to be a different appreciation for being the head coach at UCF now they’re in the Big 12 right he already built I mean [ __ ] they they claim a national championship so it’ll be interesting to see what he can do especially learning one he had success there so he had a good blueprint for the UCF job great great blue recruiting and everything and now Having learned the stuff he’s learned through the adversity at Nebraska I mean I I I think it’ll be really interesting to see how he does and if you’re UCF I think it’s maybe still a threat I think there’s less of a threat though that if he has big success he’s not gonna leave yeah like that’s what happened right he got the big success nebras needed a coach okay let’s make it happen yeah he’s been there and I think honestly he will probably slow down before he takes another big job because of how because of of UCF yeah I think and also UCF being in the Big 12 it’s like gives him a higher ceiling he doesn’t have to leave to go to Nebraska to try to make the playoffs because that was his big thing right he built UCF he felt like they were a playoff contending team and they got left out because they weren’t in power five well now it’s only Power four and they’re in one of them [ __ ] and they’re in the easiest one to win does UCF have SMU potential oh yeah absolutely very similar I don’t think people re think about thatf is a massive School in the middle of Orlando the center of the state with I mean and you think about it when it when a school has 50,000 students like UCF does similar to Ohio State that’s whatever that is 10,000 graduates every year over the course of 40 years that’s how many alumni you have that now can donate so they have facilities they have money they’re a massive school with a big fan base and alumni base and now they’re in a power four conference the the weakest one very similar to SMU in Dallas yeah and honestly like the big 12 has no top dog no Captain driving any ship right now no like there no there’s no I guess there’s no enormous Mountain to get over I mean if if all three of us sat down before the year and said who’s going to win the Big 12 none of us would have said Arizona State no I mean I [ __ ] I said Arizona yeah I mean I I don’t I don’t think I picked a team but uh but like a lot like like Kansas State I think was the favorite before the year Utah was up there Utah was up there Utah was a big one so there’s like not really a mountain climbing and we’ve seen guys turn programs around really quickly so I don’t know man I I like it I like it him I mean right now with what Kenny Dillingham did at Arizona State he they have to be at least the leading horse in the race like they’re they’re the mountain right now yeah and not only I that’s very obviously that’s not a real hot take considering they just won the Pack 12 and made the playoffs but how quickly he did it and with what Dan lanning’s doing at Oregon where he came from you gotta think he’s building that [ __ ] right this is not a Mel Tucker year one like this is he’s building a program there all right so here I guess with Dilly just real quick do you think that he’ll be there for very long because that’s the thing right like Scott Frost is going to probably be at UCF I can see for the next 10 years yeah I don’t think he would leave there for another job I don’t think Dillingham is gonna stay in at Arizona State for that long it just depend you know it’s nowadays in college football it’s all about money will they pay him will they pay his staff is nil gonna F because I’m telling you right now you are in the heart of great football not only can you recruit the [ __ ] out of Southern California but the Phoenix Scottsdale that whole area Soro High School like there’s some great football there I mean guys that have I mean [ __ ] Denzel Burke’s from from Arizona is he not yeah denz Denzel Burke Devin Brown laan Ransom and I mean Christian Kirk was a kid I recruited out of there I mean there there is really good football there if if Arizona state becomes a thing and you could start Landing kids you’re in the Big 12 why would you leave yeah if they’ll spend if they won’t spend I get it you got to go because he wants to win an Addie but you’re looking at that conference your location your your recruiting proximity if they will spend I’m not leaving yeah honestly if you’re a young hot coach the Big 12 might be the place to be literally because like you get to avoid the Titans during the regular season like you get to avoid your Kirby smarts your Ryan days your Dan Landings but you thoughts initially um so I want to talk about the situation with him leaving first and then talk about the situation Ohio state is in with this news okay perfect right so the first thing is I think you can read a lot into this right I think two things are true here and this is why Devon is leaving and it it was with a because of a conversation with Ryan is one I think Julian saying is like breathing down his neck he can feel the young kid is is is right on his heels and I think Ryan is would probably lean towards going with the young kid if it’s even right he not traditionally been what he does but I think he would do that in this situation but also Ryan’s gonna bring in a or at least entertain a transfer portal quarterback and Devon’s already lived that life right he burn the boats stay at Ohio State bring in whoever you want I’m gonna compete for it lost the job to will Howard doesn’t want to do that again this this reminds me of Joe burrow leaving but Dwayne H Haskins isn’t really there right now right Joe burrow was the second best quarterback in the room when he left and he was injured so it’s like he left to avoid wasting time he wanted to play college football and I think that’s where Deon Brown is at in a perfect world he’d stay at Ohio State win the job be a buckeye Legend blah blah blah but he just he’s seen this movie twice barely lost out the job to kic cord lost job to transfer will Howard they’re going to bring in another transfer quarterback and we got this really talented young kid that I’m going to compete with and he didn’t didn’t like his chances whether it was because he felt like Julian S would be better they’d bring in a better transfer or he didn’t think he’d get a fair Shake either way I think he felt like I just need a fresh start and I’m happy for the kid and I think it’s mutually great for everyone um I think that he would have stayed at Ohio State if he felt like it was just G to be a competition between him and Julian yeah I think he I I think that Ohio State’s plan or wants to bring in a transfer quarterback to start next year I’m I kind of some grumblings about that and I think that’s why he’s opted to hit the portal so well and I mean I I like Julian saying um everything I’ve heard about him is he’s Uber talented just not even close to ready yet and so if you think about that room I mean I think Aon Nolan and Lincoln are out gone and then I think you’re gonna be left with Julian saian Tav and stclair right you don’t want that to be the battle next year you have to bring in a transfer port a quarterback now if you can get a a high-end one that can come in and start I think that’s the perfect world so because then you’ll have third year Julian saan and secondy year Tav and St Clair battling it out for a nice at least a two-year window as a starting quarterback at Ohio State now you also lose Nothing by bringing in a transfer portter quarterback if Julian Saiyan does develop and all of a sudden he is game ready as a as a red shirt s or red shirt freshman now you’re like okay at least we brought in some comp competition but by for Pure numbers if they lose three quarterbacks in this out of this room and maybe air doesn’t maybe air air gives it one more year but they they’re gonna need a transfer portal quarterback just for depth if nothing else so I think I think Lincoln and er are both likely gone I think that um no matter what they were going to bring in a transfer quarterback I think Devin leaving means they have to you can’t like I think they were going to no matter what I think there are some names that that Ohio state is likely gonna wait on I think a guy like Mendoza the kid from Cal could end up hitting the portal and you could hear chatter around him he’s a sophomore 65 to for 3,000 yards is going to have an offer to go to Miami Georgia all those places um so I think I think because of that Devon’s like seen this seen this movie before I am curious though what this means for the bow season you and I kind of talked about it a little bit earlier yeah I mean Deon Brown’s still the backup quarterback and I’ve seen a lot of people on Twitter who are just maybe just I don’t want to say uneducated but they’re not really thinking about what why Devon Brown why is Deon Brown the backup quar back right now Chris because he’s better than Julian saan and in the event of emergency you would need Devin Brown because he would then become your best chance to win you would need him to be ready to play and I’ve seen so many people say unbelievable Ryan day wasted all those developmental reps on Devin Brown and could have given him to Julian Saiyan it’s like yeah that’s assuming will Howard stays healthy the entire year and if he if you had a crystal ball and could see that you would defitely give Julian say in the later reps right but it because you don’t your backup quarterback that could become your starter needs to get those reps so that he’s game ready God willing or God forbid there’s an injury and he becomes the guy because Julian saying is just because Devon entered the portal does not mean Julian sa’s gonna be the backup now this is not about development they’re in the college football playoffs it’s about winning a championship or trying to and Julian saying is the future not the now Devin Brown is the the best second best option at quarterback now I guess my my thing with Ryan is it I I agree with you I also think they’re they’re it’s time for some self-reflection is there an issue on how they’re getting these quarterbacks ready I mean maybe I mean I thought lincol looked pathetic in the bowl game and he got I mean he he was all bow prep was the number two he was the number two for 30 days or whatever it was I guess like I wonder about like the process in getting guys ready because while I do agree that Devon was likely give you a better shot to win if Will went down it also doesn’t seem like they have any confidence in Devin Brown either because if that was a case like yeah I agree with you like like whoever’s gives you the best chance in case someone goes down do it but then when someone does go down you grab that kid eggs scrambled cheese eggs for brains get them back out there and it’s like even when someone does go down we still don’t believe in either of these guys yeah well and I think that game was different right because Ryan took over play calling called the game tight no rotation on offense or defense like I think that game if that was any other opponent I think Devin Brown maybe stayed in a little longer they reevaluated but that that being that game I think it was like is he good will are you good he’s like yeah he looks at the trainer trainer’s like no he’s like he said he’s good give they can play with the big boys showing they belong in the playoffs and I do think if the game ended at halftime they lose 24 to7 I think B’s in I think but the so the college football playoff little bit and then looked up and saw [ __ ] this is close as [ __ ] I felt like he ABS I thought Clemson could have blown them off the the yard the whole game and then all of a sudden they forgot how these matchups in the playoffs and going down the different rabbit holes Clemson against a good secondary watch the [ __ ] out they’re they’re that’s that’s when they’re going to lose um Penn State Oregon I I this was another game that I thought was an out standing game a great game and Penn State Penn State really showed me something James Franklin showed me something because I I I I don’t want was given the five seat ahead of Penn State do you have any issue with that at all or I mean yeah I do okay I mean I I I think Texas got beat at home I guess Penn State got beat at home too but te I think Ohio State’s better than Georgia I guess is yeah I do too I think very similar resumes very similar teams I guess I would just lean on the fact that Penn State went toe-to-toe with a better team in the championship game than than Texas did yeah and that would have been my Edge um but it’s funny because like I agree with you I probably would have seated Penn State Higher but Penn State got the easier path if if you look oh there’s no doubt Penn State got blessed the seating makes the whole thing [ __ ] Penn State should have the highest odds to make it to the final four in in and I don’t even know if they do that but what are we talking about I mean Oregon beat Penn State and now to get to the final four they have to beat either Tennessee or Ohio State Penn State lost the game they got to beat you than Boise State they literally got the the Cakewalk I mean James Franklin said it I mean I mean ask yourself which team Penn State or Oregon has an easier path to the semi-finals and that’s what that’s what punds are saying like James feels like they got rewarded for planning that title game absolutely they did I think they definitely did and and this is where I think the playoff committee needs to use seating to get the matchups that should happen right I don’t think you can sit there and go one through 12 and every slot is based off resum May and who you beat and who you lost to because this is [ __ ] for for everyone in the playoffs except for Penn State and it’s not necessarily fair to Oregon the one team that ran the table and I do think once you get your four buys and let’s and then you have your four matchups instead of doing it this way because they’re doing this under the pretense that all the higher seeds win yeah and then Oregon is gonna play the worst team left wor SE because they’re the eight seat but you can’t tell me that’s the case no dude at all that’s such a tougher side of the bracket too I I think I I honestly think this is how they should do it here’s the matchups in the first round the playin games here’s the seeding for the buys all right Oregon which game do you want I 100% agree all right who’s the two SE Georgia you get next pick which game do you want let them pick their future opponent because then you eliminate [ __ ] it they can [ __ ] around and find out oh you you think you don’t think SMU and Penn State are very good
