and this is Oklahoma and Providence coming this afternoon and again I got Matt and Corby keeping me straight this is in the Bahamas correct this is the second game up on the floor after Indiana and Louisville which we will talk about later this is the second game in the battle for Atlantis in the afternoon it is Providence and Oklahoma Oklahoma favored by 2 and a half on the neutral floor toal 134 uh Matt Cox give us some discussion to start here just a thought or two on this game Porter Moser is settled in as the head coach Providence now with Kim English in his second season perfect made for TV early afternoon Thanksgiving week type matchup barely close 5050 line thought Matt you know this kind of gives me Dayja Vu of last season when Oklahoma Porter Moser and Co quietly came out of nowhere I think no one really taking this team seriously and then they won two straight against Iowa and USC uh I believe I forget what neutral site venue that was I think it was maybe a Cayman classic or something I think we later learned that Iowa and USC weren’t that special but it was kind of a we all kind of took this not very star studied um you know indistinguishable Oklahoma well coached as they always are into Port Moser team we took them for granted and they really played well on that neutral site I kind of see a similar script here against a Providence team that I know people are are you know hyping up the the much anticipated return of Bryce um Bryce Hopkins but you know English said that he’s not going to be 100% when he comes back I I think at first that was the messaging but he said that when he does return which there’s no guarantee he plays today or anytime this weekend that he will probably be limited and I think providence’s offense uh without him has looked really Rocky um everyone’s basically moved up a spot in the pecking order so everyone’s kind of biting off more than they can chew in that regard I know Oklahoma’s basically played nobody this year they proved nothing against anyone but neither is Providence um so I think I I I I like Oklahoma in the spot I don’t know if I like lay more than two I know two and a half kind of right there um you know if I can find a two out there I might I might maybe take the two small but um but nothing strong in this one for me Providence five wins Central Connecticut ston Hill Hampton Green Bay Delaware and Delaware state I’m not thinking that any of those teams are going to be in the top 25 this year Corbin Craig I believe you have another official playup coming on this matchup in the Bahamas uh again Oklahoma 40 but who are the four same kind of thing what are your thoughts and give me a play on this yes it’s it’s a it’s an interesting game one that happened last year so you have a an easy data point to say what was last year’s two teams what was the line the line there was 144 at close we’re seeing a 134 now do I think these teams are 10 points different that was a homeway it wasn’t a neutral site um Factor all these things in give me the over 134 I’m make this 140 um I think right now you can get a 134 a half which is what I believe I locked in um I see Circ is at 136 so if you’re just like a oh the Mark is efficient kind of guy um you’re getting pretty good price action at B us the best sports book there is that’s why we’re doing the show and that’s why we’re able to have a platform to talk every single day shout out bet us pretty easy understanding for me here so first off you see a 144 last year you’re like okay why is this number different obviously Hopkins hurt a neutral sight kind of hurts but like I’m not I’m not making that 10 points you go look at what providin has done you talk about these teams they’ve played nobody and you might see this and say like last year they played nobody and the possessions were up 77 possessions versus Milwaukee 77 vers Columbia these are teams that want to run Kim English doesn’t really care to run up the score like if you watch those games this year 60 possessions 60 possessions 67 possessions you go back to 2023 when they were playing crappy teams who were also slow similar to this year Ryder 65 possessions you see Stonehill 72 which is similar to last year marry Max 65 possessions like they don’t really care to run up the score uh when they’re playing bad teams and and so I think that’s why kenpom is at 330th in the nation in Tempo I watch this team I don’t think they’re 330th I think they’re probably closer to 270th which is going to speed up this game a ton uh again you’ll you’ll see you’ll see a uh a trend line here but these are two very well coached teams who are going to take really good shots this isn’t a team that’s going to play slow and take inefficient shots they’re getting to the rim they’re shooting open threes they’re getting to the free throw line we talk about this all the time TJ like the free throw line is somewhere where you’re going to get free points and and as an optimal of offense as you can have I think Oklahoma has the ability to do that very often here uh I would lean towards Oklahoma but I’m going to play the over at whatever number we get on this graphic that’s about to pop up so I see the graphic is 134 here that’s the number we locked in I just see in the last few minutes apparently it moved again on BET us to like 135 uh 135 a half on BET us that take me philosophically into that are you still comfortable there even though it’s a point or a point and a half more if they’re trying to if they’re trying to live act and bet on your uh advice right now Corby yeah B basic logic is um for sides basically half a point Matt my degree everybody has kind of like a different spot like if I if I say Oklahoma 2 I like Oklahoma 3 that’s fine uh and for totals a point point and a half depending on how big that number is so 35 and a half is fine if I give out a 34 A2 I know that I’m going on a show and lines are going to move so um I’m not giving out things that are just like dialed in on the money need a 34 especially in college basketball like the variance of this we saw it in a game that I bet on the show the other day who was who was playing a team was getting crushed um I think it was a Chicago State game yeah yeah Chicago State we had the second half under Chicago State down 30 was mad that they were getting crushed they fouled four times within the last minute down 30 like they were just mad at fouling like I don’t think one point really matters in a total it’s directionally are you on the right side and I think the right side here is the over so I take 34 35 whatever you can get all right so again this is the second game up at the Battle for Atlanta the winner will get the winner of either Indiana or Louisville that are the first game up Corby Craig is looking for points Captain under is on back-to-back overs on the day before Thanksgiving this is like early dessert uh here for him on BET us TV over 13 four at the time and
