[Music] yeah it’s yet another Vancouver Canucks news video because we actually had ourselves a bunch of extra stuff that happened after the audio that I recorded last night which spoke about Elliot fredman’s comments about the Canucks and what Patrick alen’s trade plan looks to being at this point in time so we’re going over some Canucks updates in regards to players getting recognized we’re talking about some trade stuff we’re talking about injuries and we might be able to slip in a world junior conversation here the Canucks did have a guy that made Team Canada or a guy who made Team Canada’s preliminary World Junior camp roster so that’s a pretty good piece of information right it’s been a long time since the Canucks have had a prospect in there either way let’s go over to the biggest piece of Canucks news from earlier this morning as tweeted out by the NH shell on Twitter from 10:00 a.m. today mlin celebrini Quinn Hughes and Jacob chitan have been named the NHL’s three stars of the week ending on December 1st 2024 and you can see here that the three stars of the week presented by Geico features mlin celebrini who had seven points in four games four goals three assists Quinn Hughes who had nine points in four games one goal and eight assists and then Jacob chitan in Washington seven points four games three goals four assists this is a pretty good selection of guys because when it comes to teams like the capitals for example they’ve been really turning it on as of late even without Alexander oetkin Carlson chitron stro McMichael these guys have been scoring the lights out meanwhile in Vancouver you’ve got Quinn Hughes with his goal and eight assists for nine points so he’s over double point a game in the past week and then mlin celebrini has the number one star of the week honors with seven points in four games you can say that Quinn’s performance was Superior than Macklin’s but then again you have to remember mlin celebrini is 18 He is a rookie he has really started coming into his own the past few weeks here and this week was especially a good one he’s a breakout machine too I mean the way he’s able to carry the puck into opposing zones and break it out of his own Zone I think there was a stat already saying that he is one of the top five players in the NHL in end to-end rushes or something like that yeah here it is this is from Mike Kelly earlier two weeks ago I think or last week end to end rushes McDavid is first with 72 in 19 games Jack eel second with 53 in 21 games McKinnon is third Jack Hughes is fourth and then you have mlin celebrini in 11 games played with 38 end to-end rushes this was back from November 24th so that number is probably a lot higher now but mlin celebr has been great okay we got to stop talking about the San Jose Sharks this is not a sharks related video we’re going over on to Quinn Hughes because his performance was very very good Hughes paced the the NHL with eight assists and nine points in four games to propel the Canucks to a 3-1 and0 week Hughes who also shared the league lead with four helpers on the man Advantage picked up an assist on a decisive power play goal in a two- nothing triumph over the Bruins on November 26th he followed that up with a one-goal two assist and three-point performance his second three-point outing of the season in a 5-4 loss of the Penguins on November 27th Hughes added a pair of helpers including the primary assist on Connor Garland’s overtime winner in a 4 to3 Victory against the Buffalo Sabres on November 29th he capped the off with a zero goal and three assist night again assisting on the decisive overtime tally in a 5 to four win versus the wings to surpass Alex Edler for the most helpers by a defenseman in Canucks history the 25-year-old Hughes the reigning James Norris Memorial Trophy winner ranked second amongst NHL blue liners with 28 points through 23 games this season he also places among the top defenseman in power play assists he’s tied for first regular assists he is second power play points he is tied for third shots on goal he’s fifth average time on Ice he is ninth and goals he is tied for ninth Quinn Hughes has been amazing and now it’s gotten to the point where the gap between him and kale Mar I feel like has shrunken so much that you can legitimately go out there and say that he has just turned into the Norris favorite as this tweet by Liam goes out there and talks about Kel Mar no longer has an 11-point lead on the second place defenseman Point guy sure a lot of that was carried by Colorado’s offense I think it’s a pretty common idea common belief nowadays that when McKinnon is not on the ice kale Mar’s Effectiveness goes down by quite a significant margin meanwhile Quinn Hughes when he is on the ice with whomever he is dangerous now that’s not to just K marar he is probably i’ say by reputation the best defenseman in the NHL but this season and this small stint especially with all the injuries the Avalanche have sustained it’s not been great there was a point at the season earlier on in the year where kale marar was getting a point every goal it seemed like with Colorado with Ross Colton and Nathan McKinnon just absolutely burying those Pucks in but hey The Season’s a long season things are changing nin’s back Colton’s injured and Casey midad has started to drop off as well so lots of momentum going in different directions with the Colorado team but for K Mar I’d say that Quinn Hughes has definitely started to take a bit of a step up in terms of those Norris odds we even had ourselves a poll from Donnie and Dolly from earlier today is Quinn Hughes an early heart trophy candidate so MVP of the league not just the best defenseman but the most valuable player to his team period 88% of Canucks fans voting on this say yes Quinn Hughes should be a heart trophy candidate whether or not he wins it who really knows but Elliot fredman did say earlier on at the beginning of the Season that he feels like Quinn Hughes could be his heart winner I think he might have predicted it something like that speaking about Elliot fredman though he did go out there and say that another one of these teams that could be interested in Neils hoglander is the p Pittsburgh Penguins and this of course is something that we talked about already in the most recent hoglander trade update video not the one from earlier this morning but the one from yesterday fredman and hoglander Pittsburgh is very interested other teams as well teams like the fact that he has term and speaking out about some extra stuff with the Canucks and hoglander let’s go over to a tweet made by Canucks news summaries because what they did was they summarized today’s Donny and Dolly segment wherein Rick Dolly W goes out there and talks about some of these ra Canuck news and notes here’s the Tweet Dolly Wall’s update on Philip pronic and Neils hoglander let’s go out and read some of these here together for Philip pronic the Canucks are seeking multiple opinions 3 to four the time frames with and without surgery are different if he has surgery he will be out for a while we’ll have to wait and see how long he’ll be and no one seems to know if this is the same shoulder he hurt when he was with the Detroit Red Wings obviously we’re talking about the moment at the end of the Pittsburgh game where fil pronic ended up going into the boards at the tail end of it very ugly moment he was out for a little bit after that and we had ourselves some big scares with him taking the time off afterwards Darren Dreer also had himself an appearance on SNP where he spoke about how Philip pronic is week to week so for right now it doesn’t look like the Canucks are going to get any sort of a conclusion until they get their Collective opinions and just kind of pull together different results here so we’re going to have to wait and see what Philip ponic future holds in store meanwhile we had ourselves some updates from Dolly wall on hoglander get the trade watch going the penguins are super interested the Canucks and the Blue Jackets are looking at him as well Blue Jackets AGM was at the Canucks and Red Wings game so they were scouting pretty heavily teams around the NHL are betting that hoglander will get back to last year’s production which as we have said has been very good 20 plus even strength 5v5 goals you can’t really get that out of many players and hoglander was one of the few in the NHL who was able to do that and be one of the top goals per 65 on Five Guys in the entire National Hockey League does he get back to that rate well who really knows but some other NHL teams believe it’s very well possible and maybe even likely for the young swed the return though whether or not the Canuck could make a trade happen with the Blue Jackets it will not be Ivan proov or Damon Severson Dolly wall does mention Cole cyinder as a possible return Rick then goes out there and replies saying the quote was one guy I think that should go after is Cole singer a good Young Center and here’s the thing when it comes to Cole cyinder I mean is this a target for the Vancouver conu I’m not really too sure that’s also what Dolly wall is saying he doesn’t really know if it’s actually happening but it’s something that he thinks the Canucks should be thinking about but I like it a lot I really like Cole cyinder as a player 21 years old Center left wing 62 left-handed guy signed on till the end of 2526 making 2.25 million former top pick in the 2021 NHL entry draft he had himself a crazy good year with the Blue Jackets in his rookie season with 31 points in 79 games 16 goals to this year he’s on Pace for more assists he’s on Pace for 55 points in 81 games he is on Pace for fewer goals though so he has actually trailed off that goal scoring touch a little bit but he has still become more of an effective playmaker with a Blue Jackets team that is definitely thriving on its useful guys from Eiger chikov to Adam Van Tilly Johnson and of course Cole singer there are a bunch of young guys in Columbus making an impact and singer if the Blue Jackets were to really try to force a hoglander trade I’d say cyinder might have a similar offensive ceiling to what hoglander has too hoglander just happens to be 2 years older which in my mind makes sense if you wanted to go with sort of the transactions and building off of what’s already been established with these players singer is a great name I want you to let me know your thoughts in the comment section below how do you feel about this trade Target potentially being there for the Canucks also thoughts in the comment section about Quinn Hughes getting first star or second star excuse me of the week and The Chronic injury updates no time for the World Junior stuff unfortunately that’s just how the story goes but let me know your thoughts in the comment section below I hope you enjoyed this video9 and bye [Music] [Music]
