Lampard have appointed um centry City have appointed Frank Lampard as their head coach on a two and a half year deal um yeah do you see that as as a good fit we were hoping he’d get back into football at some point you don’t want to leave it too long how do you how do you think about this yeah I like it I like Frank I I I like Frank as a manager I thought people forget what he did at Chelsea the first time around I know I know they had a transfer embargo but the players he brought through you know was absolutely amazing you know I’m a big fan of his he loves football he wants to get back I think he proves that every time you know if he loses his job he wants to jump straight back on the horse and go again and you know believes in his ability and I think this is a good job I really think this is a good job I think he can get these rolling you know I don’t I think they’re in a false position at the moment C and I think they could get on a run if they get on a run who knows they can get in the playoffs there’s a long way to go in this in this championship and I like the appointment I’m really pleased for him and I really hope he does well I really do he’s he’s a good man good man and good to have more English coaches as well in these uh you know coaching positions and head coach roles too yeah I I think I think so I think that’s the main thing as well that’s another good thing you know we’re talking about the lad at whole you know talking about the lad coming in from Turkey yeah it’s hard it’s hard this is like the second second best tier league in the world there’s no League like this you know underneath the Premier League you know you go to serah and you know the Lega they their leagues below and nowhere near the standard of this and I think you need people that know their football you have to have knowledge and you know I think it does help you know it does help with being an English manager and I say that because you ain’t got time to settle you know you haven’t the game’s come thick and fast now the International breaks are over now till March and it is Relentless you know I played in this league a couple of times and it they come Fick and fast they come thick and faster games now and it’s the same with a player you buy an you buy a foreign player you got to give them time to settle don’t get a lot of time you know you play Saturday Tuesday Saturday you know you look at middles bar you know talk about my old team you know they absolutely destroyed Oxford on at the weekend you know three days later they can’t score against Blackburn you know that’s how that’s how Relentless and how hard this league is so I like the appointment of Frank yeah I like it a lot yeah right Lea look to appoint actually a foreign manager but certainly not foreign to to English football in the Premier League rud Van nistor Roy what do you make of that if that happens uh yeah I mean he had three games he beat Leicester twice so it’s not a bad audition is it beating Lester twice they probably thought you know he was the one that beat him and not man united so it’ll be interesting it’ be interesting let’s be honest if if he wasn’t at man united for them few games you know stayed on and done well he wouldn’t be getting this job I don’t think so you know hopefully he takes advantage of it and good luck to him you know he was a top top player you know and and hopefully he can do and turn Leicester around do I think Leicester can get turned around no I don’t think they can I think they’ll be relegated I’ve watched him too many times this season and yeah I I don’t see him staying up but good luck to him and you know staying there for them three games has probably helped him get the job absolutely right we’re going to talk Arsenal we’re moving swiftly on michar to describe their win over sporting is actually the best away performance in Europe uh since he took charge did you see it that way oh 100% you know I I don’t think I don’t think sporton are as good as what everybody says they are I I don’t I don’t buy into that one you know the P Portuguese league is not the greatest but you know the Man City result makes the Arsenal result look even better when you know in that game Man City really destroyed sportting for a long period of that game and if they’ have got the second I think they would have done what Arsenal done but this is Arsenal’s best team that is their best 11 they put out on uh Tuesday night and when that team is out on the pitch and they’re all firing and they’re all fit this is one good football team one good football team and if artetta can keep these players fit you you know he’s been without rice he’s been without OD God if he can keep these players fit they will go on a run and they they will they will be challenging there’s no question but they’ve got to stay fit because that 11 as a team is top top draw yeah do you think they’re actually getting back to their best now after a little bit of a of a wobble yeah the last two the last two games I thought Forest were outstanding against Forest when they needed to be and then they just dropped it down into second gear but they were outstanding brilliant performance against sporting yeah you know odard makes a difference you know we talk about Man City and rodri it’s the same with odard odard makes things happen he he he he knits it together for them he brings the best out in sacka as well even more out of him you know even though he’s an amazing player and you know fit Declan rice you know with party sitting in front of the back four he can bomb on they got four very very good Defenders a good goalkeeper you know they got they’re a good team but they’ve all got stay fit like Liverpool have so far this season you know Van Dyk Salah all their big players have been fit for the whole of the whole of the season so far so you know long as they stay fit Arsenal will be on a rooll right Ruben Amar he’s going to take charge of his first game at all Trafford tonight he’s had a bit more time to work with his players what were your early impressions of United under did it emphasize actually even just how big a job he faces not just on the pitch but everything that comes with being a Manchester United manager yeah that was a bit that worried me more than yeah I it’s a big job for it it’s a massive job I think the one that the interview after when he said I’ve done a load of interviews I haven’t stopped doing interviews that that’s G to be it now no it won’t be it this is the best league in the world everybody wants to talk to you before a game and after a game and during the week that’s the way is he’ll have to get used to that which is going to be difficult to start with it was hard for Man United the other day you know to go and play the way they played is not easy the way he wants to play the game the way he gets his teams to play three four fre is difficult you know you got Wing backs that have got to get up and down you got three Center halfs that are probably going to have to spread out and go and defend wide yeah it’s it was I didn’t expect anything more I thought it would be a difficult game against dip switch it turned out to be that but when you go one n up after a minute or two really should have a little bit more about you to steady that game and for the next 20 odd minutes you know just just sort of kill the game a bit that didn’t happen you know within within two minutes I think three minutes ipswitch were having a shot up the other end you know you can’t let that happen you know and there’s a lot to be done at man united a lot a lot of work and he knows that and he realized that but the one bit that worried me was about the interviews you know this is the Premier League and every every country in the world will want to be talking to him now yeah welcome to Manchester United and all that comes with it and what about get getting the best out of his some of his key players amaram spoken about Marcus rashford wanting him to um want it himself in order to return to form obviously he scored at the weekend what did you put his recent struggles down to and can that be fixed I I think that could be fixed I’m a great believer that the cream always Rises to the top I think you know that always happens but that takes hard work it’s hard work I think the one trick we we all miss we we talk about Talent we talk about great players but the great players work hard that’s what they do to get to where they are they work so so hard and he’s worked hard to get to where he is it’s hard for him at the moment he’s never really had this situation where you know he’s he’s not the First Choice anymore you know’s he’s been up and down he’s got to get a little bit consistent I don’t like him as Center forward I don’t think he’s a center forward I think having his back to play is not is not Marcus rashford for holding the ball up and you know he needs to be running with the ball at goal and not having his back to goal so I I don’t know where they’re going to find a place for him in this team that’s my big worry you know because he likes to play the two t behind you know one of them is gonna be Bruno Fernandez whatever happens and then you got to fight with the other fight who’s going to be the next one but until man united get a center forward I don’t see this working full stop you know they need a center forward and at the moment the way they’re going to play it won’t work with what they got up front at the moment but rashford I hope he gets it back a bit of hard work you know and and he’ll get back you know just needs that confidence there’s one thing alien football if we could all bottle up one thing when we were playing it would be our confidence because when you’re confident completely different player yeah absolutely it’s been great to have you on Paul it’s been a pleasure you had a busy night last night you were on with us this morning there’s no
