Johnny another incredible game by Penn State on the road down again um not looking good special teams not their friend at all early their best friends late um big plays made at clutch times the offense is on the field to win the game James Franklin made some interesting decisions earli that maybe people didn’t agree with but he sure looked like he made all the right ones as they improve to 10 and 10 and one first time I it might be the first time they have a shot at 11 regular season win since 1994 cuz I think the 2015 team didn’t play enough games but just an incredible environment they got Minnesota’s aame uh and for this team to finish up the way that they did it really says a lot about I think the character of this team yeah absolutely I mean you look at it this is the third time this year they’ve been down at halftime on the road in Big 10 play USC wiscons USC Wisconsin tonight and they win and they come away with a win I mean this game had everything in the first half that that it needed to be the upset for Minnesota you know the blocked punt that leads to a double reverse Flea Flicker touchdown a blocked extra a blocked extra point returned for two points like everything seemed to be going Minnesota’s way there in the first half even when it’s telling when Penn State scores a touchdown with 19 seconds left in the second quarter and they don’t go into the half you want to restart this is no we don’t stop all right I was going to say cuz as soon as we start hitting play the noise starts we’re not what are you going to do so anyway they overcome all of that and when they when they needed it most on the final drive of the game they keep Minnesota out of the end zone they settle for a field goal it’s a one hug huge o overlooked I think part of the game yes Jaylen Reed with the game you really the game saving tackle touchdown saving tackle and Penn State with less than 6 minutes ago in regulation does not give the ball back the fake punt Luke Reynolds hell of a job rumbling for 32 yards also Dom Ry is the guy domy Byam he’s making the call based on the look whether or not they can run that fake or not a lot of credit to him you know from both James Franklin and and his teammates so they convert there and then they convert on a QB sneak by Drew Aller a quick snap QB sneak and then the throw the fourth in one throw with 27 seconds to go Aller extending the pocket a little bit gaining some more time and throwing an open Tyler Warren to ice the game a show of Confidence from the coaching staff in these players and and a sign that these guys know how to win know how to close out a game yeah two things just to add so they lose Anthony D on the second snap yes there were some adjustments Drew got hit a lot they made the corrections and then you mentioned so on Luke Reynolds fake punt James was asked about it initially initially Minnesota had their had their uh defense on the field I think they was a timeout but they switched when when when Penn State decided to kick and they put their punt coverage team on the field and I think that set in motion to go with the call that James Franklin made by and I think if the defense stays on the field though they’re going to kick it and that was a huge play in the game it was it was massive and like you mentioned though early in the game in the first half there were a couple of fourth Downs that I thought Penn State could have gone for the second one in particular you know they were pushing up near Midfield it was fourth and one and they decided to punt I was like oh I don’t know about that one James not sure and then in the second half though in the final drive of the game you convert three fourth Downs in different ways each time and I thought it showed like I talked about a show of confidence like not just to run the ball not to be conservative on fourth and one at the end there to go play action pass your first read Nick Singleton was out of the back field he was covered that wasn’t there Drew buys some more time and finds Tyler Warren who had eight catches for 102 yard just a h hum day for old Tyler Warren just another day at the office for Tyler Warren he doesn’t find The End Zone but he does ice the game for this team that is now one win away against Maryland next week to punching it ticket to the football playoff and probably a home playoff game in the first round uh you know at Beaver Stadium here’s one more thing I want to say to you Johnny mcgonagal to you Joe hermit who’s taking this video and to all the Penn State fans I swear if you would have told me before the game that Penn State would win this game by converting one of 11 third down chances one of 11 on the road I would have bet you all the money in my pocket and that’s like $13 that’s how sure I was they were going to lose this game it is phenomenal that they can go 1 for 11 on third down have those kind of special teams mistakes and still have the resolve to win a game it’s really in my mind when you talk about this season this might be the the game that I remember the most because that’s really really hard to do one thing to add Zan Durant two and a half tackles for loss it felt like a hell of a lot more he was all over the field a game wer on the interor defensive line he’s been great all year he was at his best tonight and he needed to be and did a great job in limiting innesa it was just a great performance by him overall solid performance guty performance by Penn State gutty performance by the entire team and now they return home and and an outside chance at going to the big 10 title game Bob if Michigan pulls the upset over Ohio State I think one Ryan Day might get fired but also if they win and Penn State beats Maryland Penn State’s going to the big 10 what what do Jim Carrey say in that movie so you’re saying there’s a chance that’s how Penn State should look at it
