Jeff passon has given us teams to watch as free agency picks up available on espn.com right now and in this he highlights 12 teams and for all 12 teams he gives us the perfect transaction and that is what we are going to be digging into in this one make sure to hit that like if you enjoy your time here and comment down below with your thoughts let’s begin where he begins and that is with the new York Yankees any guesses as to which way this is going to go it’s pretty obvious the perfect transaction for the New York Yankees is to sign free agent outfielder Juan SoDo obviously right Juan SoDo in pin stripes sort of changed everything in New York look I I don’t know if Yankee fans are willing to accept this or not but a Aaron judge Garrick Cole Leed yankee team wasn’t going anywhere wasn’t winning any championships all of the blame was on Aaron Boone it’s Aaron Boon’s fault maybe you were just missing that other Superstar that generational talent and that is what Juan sto is and when Juan sto put on the Pinstripes things changed so Juan sto has to come back to the New York Yankees it is no doubt and I agree 100% the perfect transaction Plan B for the New York Yankees if they don’t get Wan stto back sucks regardless of who it is trade for Luis Robert S Oscar Hernandez son Anthony sere no it is not an option look if the Mets or the blue JS or the Red Sox or the Phillies or anybody else that is talking to or the Dodgers if they miss out on woto they never had WTO so they’re not losing him the Yankees are the one team that would be losing him that’s one reason why you can’t let what just one in another line of reasons why the Yankees have to do everything in their power to keep him so I agree with this 100% it is most definitely Juan stto let’s continue on here next up he had the New York Mets the perfect transaction for the New York Mets he has Willie adamus this is interesting to me because I’m ready for a uh uh Francisco Lindor and Luis anel aunia middle infield for the next however many years that can that can last I’m ready for that and third base is Mark Vientos is he great defensively no but he can always get better he’s still young his game is improving I kind of feel like the perfect transaction is actually to bring back Pete Alonzo or or maybe the perfect transaction is for a pitcher it maybe Pete isn’t the perfect transaction it’s one I would like to see the Mets execute maybe the perfect transaction should be a pitcher cuz they need a few of those Willie Adamas I don’t I just don’t see it moving willly Adamas to Second moving Willie Adamas to Third and then allowing Mark Vientos to go to first I don’t see the clear path so I cannot agree uh with I I can’t agree with this one I know there are Mets fans that want Willie Adamas and I I get that and if you get Willie Adamas great I just wouldn’t consider it a perfect transaction let’s go to the next team and it’s the Toronto Blue Jays the perfect transaction for the Toronto Blue Jays is to sign free agent left-hander Max freed well that would go against indications that Max Reed will be headed to the West Coast I also am cautious in getting too excited or or getting too far along in my thought proc process when it comes to the Toronto Blue Jays and signing top free agents to four five six-year deals because I think they’re all going to be the the players on the player side they’re all going to be hesitant and if there are other options they will explore those options before the Toronto Blue Jays because the Toronto Blue Jays have a big question mark after the 2025 season with no Vladimir Guerrero Jr extended with no B bashet extended the rest of that lineup is unproven or a why great they they’re they’re going to have a a solid rotation but we don’t know if this team’s going to be able to score runs they had trouble scoring runs last year and that was with Vladimir Guerrero Jr and a oneye younger than he’ll be next year George Springer and Bo bashet who was hurt and had his Worst season but still Bo was there for much of the season so if you’re a free agent and you’re somebody like Max freed look this is this is perfect from the Blue Jays perspective okay I guess but at the end of the day I think it’s got to be a bat the pitching for 2025 is kind of set they have three really good at the one two three spot four and five Bowen Francis yiel Rodriguez Jake Bloss uh maybe they go out and they find a cheaper free agent Edition to upgrade that four five spot Max freed as the perfect Edition perfect transaction for the Toronto Blue Jays I don’t know I don’t know if I necessarily agree with that they need a closer now they could use one of those okay let’s continue again I’m not I’m not in on this one I’m not in on the Willie adamus so at this point we’re just one for three in agreeing with Jeff let’s go down the line to the Boston Red Sox perfect transaction sign free agent left-hander Blake Snell I I I’ll agree with this in the element that the Bost of Red Sox need to sign one of the top free agent starting pitchers whether that is Snell or freed or Burns pick one they have to get one of the top free agent starting pitchers that is the greatest area of need you have now uh highlevel front office individuals talking about how they’re going to spend money so now you’re in you better make a splash or two and this would be one so I will agree with this whether it’s Blake Snell or Burns or freed it could go either way here but I will agree in the general thought process here I did not agree in with the thought process for freed or the thought process for Willie Adamas let’s go to the Cubs next the Chicago Cubs scrolling scrolling perfect trans action signed International free agent Roki Sasaki this would surprise everybody if it is the Chicago Cubs that land Roki Sasaki this is interesting I actually see the next team the team that we’re about to get to the San Diego Padres I would have thought that he would go Roki Sasaki for the Padres because the Padres need cheap controllable starting pitching and I mean so do the Cubs uh but I would have thought maybe the Padres would have slotted up there I actually think that the Cubs can spend on the free agent so we’ve already done Blake Snell for the Boston Red Sox he did Max freed for the Toronto Blue Jays he must be holding Corbin Burns for another team yes the Chicago Cubs do need to land one of the top pites available this off seon there is some question about how effective r saki will be on day one I kind of feel like because of that the Cubs need to go out and get a starting pitcher that we do know will be effective on day one so I think I got another one where I disagree here it’s not a strong disagreement I’m agreeing with the general thought process of a of starting pitching but I think that they got to get they got to bring in a guy that they know will be effective day one Padres are next up the Padres perfect transaction free agent right-hander Walker buer see now this is almost where we could flip-flop it right Walker buer I think there’s a there’s a more of a certainty in Walker bu in 2025 being effective being a topof the rotation pitcher than there is RI Sasaki because ri’s going to go through a transition period um so I would actually flip-flop these either way Walker bu whatever it is does he talk about this here um he doesn’t really dig into it too much um I would uh because wherever Walker be goes it’s got to be a one-year deal right the San Diego Padres are in an interesting position they need a starting pitcher with Joe Musgrove being down Walker beer going from the Dodgers to the Padres though I feel like Jeff’s trying to troll a certain fan base here and I wouldn’t put it past him I don’t know I’ll have to give him a phone call and see what he’s see what he was thinking about this with this one but I got to think that Walker bu to the Padre’s is quite unlikely now the general need starting pitcher check upside to be at top of the rotation arm check isn’t going to cost you know the the five 6 7 20 25 $30 million aav check check all of that but it’s Walker buer coming from the Dodgers going to the Padres can’t see it can we flip-flop again let’s get Roki Sasaki here and put walker ber up at the Cubs on a one-year $15 million deal for the Cubs let’s let’s do that another disagreement what have I only really agreed on one of them no I agreed on two of them wow okay I agreed with Yankees and stto and I agreed with Snell and the Red Sox it’s been a lot of uh not seeing eye to eye here on the player Orioles are next let’s take a look perfect transaction sign Corbin Burns so there we go there are now the three top starting pitchers off the board again he went freed Blue Jays Snell Red Sox and burns to the Baltimore Orioles yes right I will agree on this one this definitely feels like of of of the 12 teams this has to be right up there as like a top three Perfection here because SoDo would be in that top three Burns would be in that top three because the need for what burns provides is so great for the Baltimore Orioles they cannot waste a year where again you’re just kind of scratching your head how are we going to how are we going to get through this season from a pitching perspective you can’t cannot do that it was a great trade last year to get Corbin Burns to prevent any questions and don’t go back don’t go back into that 2022 mode where you’re trying to figure it out make sure you have an ace at the top of that rotation so this is not a wasted year a wasted arbitration year or pre-arbitration year for all of that young Talent go out and spend money on burns I love this one locked in Jeff we’re good tigers are next the Detroit Tigers perfect transaction where is it perfect transaction for the Detroit Tigers is Alex bregman so I can see this the Detroit Tigers have to go out there and add a righty bat they need to add an impact righty bat bringing in somebody like Alex bregman that has a postseason track record can bring that leadership to that team I think is a great Edition I like this one reuniting him with AJ hinch checks a lot of boxes here this really would be um this really would be a perfect transaction good job on this one we like it Mariners are next up the Mariners perfect transaction would be acquiring second baseman Nico hoer from the Cubs is this a little underwhelming like if you are the Seattle Mariners that’s the perfect transaction huh I I mean it’s it’s it is definitely an area of need second base check um but if you’re the Mariners and this is what comes in as your perfect transaction I think you are a little underwhelmed I think this is a reflection of where this franchise is they don’t have the ability to go out there and sign Pete Alonzo or Anthony isan tondere or or anybody like that they’re just not in that spot so it likely will have to be a trade but if you’re looking at this you’re saying well why don’t we go sign Willie adamus it’s the money thing so this is kind of interesting um there’s a lot of different ways that Seattle could go to address that infield they also need a third baseman I feel like this um again is is sort of underwhelming for Seattle Mariners fans the fit sure the fit is is there um I actually don’t think niik Herer is going to get traded by the Chicago Cubs I think they’re going to hold on to him for one more year but we’ll see how that plays out um that’s an interesting one let’s move on to the St Louis Cardinals I’m surprised he has the Cardinals here we know the Cardinals are kind of you know on the fence here is it is it going to be a year to compete or is it going to be a fire sale this offseason perfect transaction for the Cardinals scrolling down trade closer Ryan Hesley to Toronto wait a minute so it’s not even a trade for somebody it is a trade Ryan Hesley away okay hey I would take this this would be a great addition for the Toronto Blue Jays I have this on my uh offseason sheet when I’m looking at potential trades and and moves this is a great one Jeff good job Jeff we like this the Cardinals have to trade Hesley entering the final year of arbitration and when you consider how much closers just went for at the trade deadline you should be able to get some really good prospects in return for Ryan Hesley the only problem is if you’re the Toronto Blue Jays as the trade partner I mean aren’t we knocking the Blue Jays these days for their farm system and if they’re going to go trade for Ryan Hesley and have to pay the closer premium you see where I’m going with this look I would love to have Ryan Hesley on the Blue Jays it really just depends on the package can Toronto put the best package in front of the Cardinals or would somebody else with a much better farm system be able to pull this off interesting let’s move on to the white socks next perfect transaction trade left-hander Garrett crochet to Boston so we get a second Boston deal we have in this article the Boston Red Sox getting Blake Snell and Garrett crochet look that is kind of what you need if you’re the Red Sox that’s how you need this offseason to go that is what I wanted them to do last year Robbie and I talked a lot on stream and on tape about what the Red Sox needed to do last offseason and I was looking at trade for Corbin Burns and signed Blake Snell that was my offseason Playbook last year for the Red Sox now we’re back sign Blake Snell because he’s available again and this time trade for Garett crochet it’s what they need to do the Red Sox want to be competitive be a serious contender in the American League East you got to have two Elites at the top of that rotation and that’s what Snell and crochet would bring you the Oakland A’s they’re having a hard time why am I talking about the Oakland A’s oh the Oakland A’s are next the Chicago White Socks I saw the logo I got distracted the white socks have to trade crochet there was a comment buy Chris gets about how he’s uh you know the market is there and there’s a lot of teams interested but he’s really good and he could be really good what what did he say he could be really good for us on opening day or something like that alluding to not trading Garrett crochet this offseason but they have to and here we’ve got a trade to the boster Red Sox which definitely works out it is one of the teams that when you look at the the prospects that could head to the white socks the Red Sox prospects that could head to the white socks the Red Sox have a ton of them so trade partner wise this is this is this is a good one as well I like it the A’s here are the A’s finally perfect transaction for Oakland scrolling scrolling scrolling sign free agent left-hander Shawn manah this is very interesting okay I have not read this I’m skimming to see if there’s any uh let’s see what makes them fascinating the A’s city name optional are fascinating actually yes because the organization whose payroll hasn’t ranked higher than 20th since’ 07 is really going to spend money this winter like seriously really seriously promised even while operating in A Minor League Stadium how will the AIDS do it will they take on bad contracts via trade and bolster their farm system can they convince free agents to play in the scorching summer temperatures of Sacramento might they pursue contract extensions for Brent Rooker or JJ blade however the A’s go about it they’re planning on carrying a franchise record payroll in the $100 million neighborhood and while they’ve got the makings of a decent lineup Rooker blade breakout rookie Lawrence Butler at the heart of it their pitching staff is a mess A’s need at least two starting pitchers and likely more okay so that is how we don’t need to read the rest of it that is how we get to Shawn manah as a perfect transaction with that thought process sure I don’t know if they’re going to be able to lure free agents in I mean we’re already hearing reports about The Struggle that they’re having I don’t see it I I mean look okay perfect transaction this is not will the A’s trade or sign sham manah this is the perfect transaction would be shamah okay sure yes I don’t see it happening though I do not think the the A’s will sign a top 25 free agent no shot mm- interesting well that’s Jeff’s perfect transactions for the 12 most interesting teams or the 12 teams to watch as free agency picks up comment down below with your thoughts what do you agree with what do you disagree with from Jeff’s article here I think I’m about 5050 on on the perfect transactions comment down below leave me and the rest of the community your thoughts that is going to do it for
