In this postgame interview, Anthony Davis doesnโt hold back as he discusses the Los Angeles Lakers’ disappointing 97-87 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Davis points out that the Lakers’ 22 turnovers were a major factor in the defeat, emphasizing that “22 turnovers, you canโt expect to win a game like that.” He stresses that each turnover represents a missed opportunity, and the Lakers’ sloppy play on offense ultimately cost them the game.

Robert uh Austin Reed returned he had 18 points on six of 16 I was four for8 from three which was really nice to see and of course did his thing six rebounds five assists another good game for Austin once he got going got the rust off back to Minnesota Austin re is speaking with Michael Austin first of all how did you how did you feel physically after the five Miss games and getting back on of the Court yeah I felt good um first 5 minutes I was winded um but f really good uh was very happy to be back out there uh competing and you know upset that we didn’t get the win but uh very you know pleased with how I felt just in terms of your your legs you’ve been playing so much basketball did it did it feel at all good to get your to get some time off of the legs or does that does that end up just in the middle of a season like this do you feel like there could be any benefit for you as the season goes on and getting a a little recharge or were you just rehabing the whole time uh I think it’s a little bit of both uh I think it’s good and you know I wouldn’t say bad uh it’s always good to you know constantly get rehab uh not just on whatever injury you have but trying to make yourself feel you know uh tip top shape uh in every aspect um but you know the bad part about it is is you don’t play as much basketball uh I didn’t get you know many days to really be on the court and uh you know play before tonight uh just because you know with the injur that I had it was it was tough to you know really be on the court uh for the first you know week or so uh with the you know uh discomfort that I had uh so the turnaround was really quick but like I said I was you know really pleased with you know how I felt and um you know how I played other than you know a couple turnovers a couple missed bunnies um but other than that I thought I was you know solid and felt really good you could argue that the defense was good enough to win a game but where the turnovers especially where did you see a lot of that coming out of and and you know how much of a problem was it yeah I think a lot of that the first quarter was my fault um not having us organized um not being on the court you know like the last two weeks I thought um you know kind of left a little indecision in my mind um you know with some that we could have been doing so I got to be better there uh but I thought after that we were you know very solid you know obviously you turn over here and there uh a couple uh missed you know box outs on free throw those are really big plays so um you know I’ll watch film I’ll get better and um like I said I’ll see what I can do to you know help us be better in that aspect and uh you know put you know the team in you know good positions to be successful JJ mentioned that he felt like you know obviously after turnovers you guys start to create some good looks um process wise how did you feel about the offense in terms of what you guys are generating out there yeah I thought I thought we did um get a lot of good looks you know in that fourth quarter third quarter um when we didn’t turn it over uh just unfortunately we didn’t make a couple of them and um to you know Miss make League uh if you you know Miss a shot on one end um you know or miss two in a row they have opportunity to make us have a 60 run whatever uh it’s a it’s a very big momentum game and uh tonight we just didn’t have enough of those you know plays to you know win the game but I thought we competed uh you know every possession to um you know at a high enough level to win the game uh we just didn’t make enough shots all right big shot I’ll start with you we’ll just we’ll just go around you know uh no LeBron again tonight they didn’t have them last week against Portland either uh unsure on Sunday as well but uh definitely uh feeling a void there but hopefully when he’s back the foot is better and he’s healthy and rested and ready to go yeah the thing about LeBron he makes the game so much easier for the people around him because he Demands a double team like ad so now you got two guys on the floor to demand double team and when he penetrates he knows how to kick and he’s a willing passer that’s the one thing since he stepped into this league he’s a willing passer but it’s up to those guys to get that Rhythm and knock down those shots other thing is though you steal it from from him he’s going to run you down and block it from behind so those are the things that you mentioned from B but all all that I think sometimes is overlooked is his leadership yeah the leadership is what’s missed a lot because he can get guys to play the right way uh watching tonight James in that fourth quarter and there were so many crucial possessions where if you hit the shot you’re getting it to two or you’re getting it back to three and that’s just where when you’re not shooting the basketball you just if you have LeBron you just know you got a great chance of him driving getting an n one or or creating for someone else that for sure and you also have a coach on the floor you know he’s really good at you know delegating telling people how to get in space uh and in place you know what pick uh he wants and he kind of you know keeps the floor spacing he kind of decompresses the team a little bit and when you have a guy like that on your team I always knew when magic had the ball I just decompressed cuz I knew he knew what he was doing I knew he was the leader and so you do miss that and it’s hard to to get two or three guys to make up for that re is okay he does it but there’s nothing that can replace LeBron you know uh that triple threat of being able to score pass and shoot you know it’s it’s you missed that the big question will he play Sunday here in La against excuse me a very good Memphis team I’m gonna I’m going to bet yes two reasons Memphis the Memphis and the Lakers they kind of like to go at each other there’s a lot of John even though Dylan Brooks has gone he’s with a different team um I have a feeling he he want to play because of that and more importantly it will have been nine days between games for LeBron his last game was a week ago um and he had uh you know 39o triple double in Atlanta in the game that the Lakers had a chance to win but in a few of their games like that lately they didn’t G all right stick with us we’re still waiting to hear from Anthony da room ad you know you could argue that you guys played well enough defensively between the rim protection with you and Christian kind of throughout the game and limiting their efficiency but what did you see on offense with the turnovers and some of the Miss shots and how that built 22 turnovers uh can’t expect to win a game like that um terrible job taking care of the basketball 22 plays that we didn’t get a shot on on go um think we did enough defensively um just didn’t do enough offensively you know know turnovers play a big factor and they’re a team who wants to you know pressure and you know create turnovers and we had 11 in the first quarter you know and uh was able to combat that and give oursel a chance to win you know cutting it to to six and five but um overall you know it’s tough to win any basketball game when you have 22 turnovers this team I think you came in ranked six in the league averaging about 13 per game which is good where is there anything that you think moving forward there is there anything from tonight that’s a concern turnover wise or was it just a bad night taking care of the ball I don’t think it’s a concern I mean we been really good Tak care of basketball um you know she turns it over tonight when you know without LeBron specifically and we know V’s out um what do you how do you try to make up for some of that front Court you know deficit with just some of the size and in a matchup like tonight and kind of same we’ll see if he’s ready for Memphis but Memphis another big physical team um I mean got Christian uh ruy you know myself um just got to figure it out I mean no matter who’s playing or who’s you know who who is playing you know we got to figure it out um with the Five Guys on the floor it um first 15 games of the season I think you guys were only under 110 points twice um you’ve only been over it once in the last 10 um what are you seeing offensively big picture with this te just got to score um getting good looks um know we haven’t been shooting the ball from threeway uh just got to make shots I mean we’re getting Great Looks we’re generating open threes we’re generating open looks for our guys um you know we just got to be confident enough enough confident enough to to make them there was one there was one play where after a turnover um Naz hit a three and I saw you had butted the ball it’s like in your hands like I mean where are you at frustration wise right now I mean no that was cuz I turned the ball over um I get a good play um you know get a block in the save and then I come down and know kick it to me um I just lost lost the ball you know generate another turnover uh get back in transition know we scramble and you know n re hit a three at the top of the key you know so the frustration just came Within Myself of turning the ball over and you know allowing them to you know get a three um especially when we just had a good defensive play and we we’re cutting the lead so um that’s where it came from do you feel like the trust and the offensive process is still there fight like what you were saying creating good looks but not knocking them down the offensive struggles for the past couple weeks at this point you can’t control makes misses um you know we just got to continue to you know create those looks um you know we continue to create those looks then you know eventually the shots have to you know fall especially if guys continue to you know put in the work and shoot the ball with confidence you know I know LeBron’s been away from the team early this week he’s dealing with the foot stuff but um this period uh three games in 2 weeks basically is a little bit of a reset have you spoken to him about kind of the tone that you guys as stakeholders need to set in this stretch does it feel like an opportunity to for you to specifically to kind of put your stamp on things no i’t talk to them about any of that just last one on the Grizzlies you’re very familiar with what they want to do what’s most important going into Sunday’s game just being physical um they physical team and um you know just like tonight they try to create turnovers with their physicality their uh disruption on the ball um passing Lanes things like that so we just got to be strong with the ball and you know once we um take care of the basketball and get some movement some ball movement body movement um you know we’ll be able to score but um you know we can’t have 22 turnovers like we did tonight thanks all right Rob time for a little access 360 what do you break it down um miscues you know this game is a game of miscues and yes and this 36 12 games 25 games in good breakdown Rob 13 and 12 big game kind of your overall temperature right now I know they’re 3 and eight in the last 11 but just where you kind of you know maybe turn this thing around get it back on track the thing is they’re they’re right there you know what I mean they they played well enough to win some of these games they played really good defense they just need to figure out how to be more like glued together they you know turn the ball over is it’s just dangerous it de it demoralizes you as you play good defense you turn it over they also need to get some you know some more ball movement I think you got to feed ad yeah I would be feeding him four out of five times man I work him and you know call his play and then let everybody else benefit off of that but you know they they got some time it’s early but they really they really miss LeBron but until they get LeBron back they got to figure out how to you know play with some Force and and you can’t turn it over you can’t the NBA world was shaken recently by a report suggesting that if LeBron James were ever traded from the Los Angeles Lakers he’d want his son bronnie James to be included in the deal this surprising claim sparked heated debates across the sports Community with commentator Colin cow herd offering a harsh critique on his show The Herd cow herd didn’t hold back questioning Bron’s NBA potential and calling the idea of a father-son trade package delusional he argued that bronnie while talented and athletic hasn’t yet proven himself as an NBA level player referencing his limited success at USC and doubts about his Readiness for the professional stage but here’s where we need to pause and reconsider while cow herd’s points reflect a common narrative let’s not forget that NBA success stories have often defied expectations think about players who were overlooked but Rose to stardom through hard work and development Brony might be at the beginning of that journey and being LeBron’s son comes with enormous pressure and scrutiny what this means for the Lakers from the Lakers perspective a trade involving LeBron is highly unlikely at this point he remains one of the most dominant players in the league despite being in his 22nd season and approaching 40 years of age his recent performances have proven that he still has plenty left in the tank just look at how he’s carried the team in key games this season would the Lakers ever consider a trade involving LeBron and bronny realistically the focus should be on strengthening the team around LeBron while he’s still playing at a high level the Lakers have a history of making bold moves and with the trade deadline approaching in February Anything could happen but trading LeBron would signal a complete rebuild something the Lakers seem far from considering right now looking forward for now Lakers fans can rest assured that their team is focused on winning not entertaining far-fetched trade scenarios Anthony Davis is playing at an elite level and The Supporting Cast has shown flashes of Brilliance with a few strategic adjustments the Lakers could become a serious Contender once again in the comp itive Western Conference what do you think Lakers Nation do you believe there’s any truth to these trade rumors or is this just another wild NBA story should the Lakers stick with LeBron and Trust in brony’s potential or is it time to think about the future differently let us know your thoughts in the comments
