kyp your personel 391 and 11 for LeBron in defeat let’s go inside the Lakers locker room he’s with Mike LeBron clearly the just level of competition and energy was a lot better than the previous games did you feel like it you know comes down to late game execution what s out to you tonight nothing they uh they made a couple more plays than we made how did you feel about the response from the the way you get played in Miami we just played how you were supposed to play is this the standard in terms of effort that needs to be out there for you guys on a mly [Music] basis I don’t know you guys aren going to get it all back uh in one night you and AD obviously had that huge productive tight nights but there was a couple plays late the turnover miscue and then the imbalance where he got wrapped up like how do you guys communicate with one another after that knowing that [Music] he turned it over I picked him up got back got the block We Got The Possession we got it in they tied it up those are not misused he turned it over it’s my job to back him that’s what teammates do I got back got the block off Daniel’s hands we got the ball back enter the ball they did a great job of tying him up Yan Braun I guess Mo moving forward you guys are going to be back in La for about a week before going back out on the road but what can got the game on Sunday but but what can this kind of stretch after basically being on the road for 2 weeks do for you guys in terms of like resetting and we actually leave Thursday so it’s not a week we leave Thursday to go to Minnesota so one game for one home for one game and then leaving a few more days after that Ron you’re 39 almost 40 39 Point triple double you think the fans you’re really appreciating what you’re able to still do um I don’t know um just go out there and just play the game the right way compete at a high level and leave it all on the floor every time I go out there um my time is very limited on how long I play so you know I’m just happy to still be able to play the game that I love gab drew the start for you guys tonight had one of more more productive games since joined the team last year what what I guess did you see from him out there tonight and what can I guess I guess that version of play well he played ex he played well got the start now he played well last question obviously the loser is frustrated excuse me um what do it what’s it going to take for this team to get over the hump what where are you seeing like not enough coming from uh we have about Five Guys in our top 11 not in uniform you know we’re trying to get we mixed matching with lineups we’re trying to figure out ways obviously so it’s very challenging you know um that we don’t have much room for ER I said that in the beginning of the season so when you have five guys when you have AR out you know Vando out you know seawood is not played this year um Jackson you know so it’s big big big big pieces you know and um you know so I don’t I don’t know as far as what will help us get over the hump we just got to just not drown you know don’t don’t drown and and we be all right I appreciate it obvious frustrations LeBron’s saying these aren’t Miss cues it’s just what happened in the game we made a good play they tied us up you know um also talked about big pieces uh missing and and and just trying not to drown trying to stay afloat but it is tough big game and and the frustrations Mount when obviously it’s different when you get blown out and the effort and you’re having a different kind of conversation in the postgame but like Orlando or or or like Atlanta and it’s going to happen in 82 game schedule when when the game is almost in hand and you’re right there and you lose it it’s tough on the other side yeah yeah I mean look again games in Atlanta tonight I mean it ball down to like a two-minute contest you know after all the playing uh it came down to you know overtime and really just who can control the the the two minutes right here getting it into into ad I you know that right there was a I I thought he thought he was going to get foued I think that’s what he thought OB when you get it like that you got to move and make them fou you and then I mean this was just bad luck uh the tip was in the right direction he just didn’t get it and then you know this situation right here where both ad and Gabe went on the shooter and left Trey wide open you had to know who might be taking the shot so you want to stay at home on Trey at all cost but you know when you’re playing the game sometimes your instincts take over and just a spit second cost him the game G James the problem with the West it’s so tight packed so when the Lakers started this road trip four games ago they were right around top four in the west as of now they are now 10th in the west with a 1211 record couple games going on right now they could bump them up or down a spot um bottom line you know you it’s it’s hard to go on a one and three road trip at any point when you have a conference that’s so jammed together um they got their work cut out for them you know you play you play Port good news is play Portland on Sunday if you beat them this is when you start the two games in 10 days James so there’s going to be opportunities to practice next week even the week after that they’ll have opportunities to practice and rest as well G so beat Portland maybe take a little brief practice would be good I’m so pissed off right now not me personally but but as a team I’m so pissed off right now that this right here is a type of road trip they could turn it around they St making all these silly mistakes and and take care of business but uh it’s yet to be seen and you’re right it’s a uphill battle it’s not going to be easy but yeah lost 7 n but this glazers is on Spectrum Sports on Sunday night a game alley will be at working our pregame coverage begins at 5:30 tip off is at 6:30 Max chrisy scored nine points before fouling out he’s with Mike in the locker room all right Max first of all clearly a a better response right after the Miami game and even the Minnesota one but I presume the frustration is you know just as much as head back on a long flight what stands out the most to you about this one yeah like you said I think if you’re looking at it from a process standpoint this was a good bounceback for us I thought us as a cohesive unit was a lot better than Miami or previously on the road trip thought our communication was better um I think we did enough to win the game they hit a big shot at the end um but overall I think from a process standpoint this is a good step in the right direction just take us through the possession on trade the end of regulation when you get the block yeah I think uh they were running bog dnamage or something into a kind of a ghost screen where we did a good job communicating so I just stayed on him and I’m looking behind the clock’s kind of taken down he’s beyond the four-point line so I he’s got to do some sort of step back something crazy so I was able to anticipate it kind of gave me a little in and- out to step back and I was able to anticipate the block you end up falling out in not what what did you see on that play and kind of just the the way that the whistle was going throughout the night for you it was a physical game to be honest um and I think JJ made that point too he wanted us to be physical and um I think I did a good job of that obviously I fouled out maybe a little bit too much but on that last play I just Clos out really hard DeAndre Hunter shooting it really well he shot it really well tonight so I kind of wanted to close out to him make him put on the ground and kind of close out a little too recklessly and he bump into me fell down so is what it is when when the team is in the stretch where you guys have lost 7even and nine um how tough is it to to view things in the process standpoint when the immediate gratification like I mean you can sense the energy in here I mean you guys need to win mhm no for sure I mean it’s it’s difficult obviously we all want to win that’s all what we’re here for um I think over some reflection and watching film and I think even tomorrow we’ll see when we’re watching film that we got better I think from previous games on the RO trip and just looking at a process standpoint we took a step in the right direction the outcome wasn’t there so that’s all we can ask for to be honest obviously we wanted to win but um I think this game will serve us in the future all right guys uh tough loss big game James but uh long flight home to think about it get home and uh regroup for Sunday yeah I mean they played really hard I I I listen to Max they communicated well there was two or three situations that they you have to look at and you know they they take back but welcome back to Lakers news Squad your go-to spot for all things Los Angeles Lakers today we need to talk about something that has really rocked the Lakers World a devastating 41o loss to the Miami Heat marking their worst defeat of the season this loss is not just a blow to the team but a blow to the entire Lakers organization everyone from the front office to the players coaches and fans is left reeling and it’s not just the fans who are upset Lakers Legends are voicing their frustrations too let’s start with Magic Johnson who as always doesn’t hold back when it comes to calling out the Lakers magic took to social media after the game to express his embarrassment about the performance he said and I quote I’m embarrassed for the Lakers they were down 32 points to the Miami Heat 105 to 72 at the end of the third quarter Magic’s disappointment was clear and he has every right to feel that way when a Lakers Legend like magic calls out the team you know something is seriously wrong now this loss isn’t just any ordinary loss it’s the worst loss the Lakers have faced this season and it comes right after another devastating defeat to the Minnesota timber wolves they were blown out by 41 points in Miami and the Lakers couldn’t even break the 100o barrier in this game to make matters worse this 41o defeat is now the eighth worst loss in the last 47 years for the Lakers franchise this is not the kind of performance we expect from a team with championship aspirations and it’s no surprise that magic and other Lakers great are feeling the Heat James Worthy another Lakers Legend also had something to say about this embarrassing stretch for the Lakers worthy didn’t hold back during his postgame analysis he said they need to get on the bus tonight and get some White Castle burgers and drive to Atlanta and they need to think about who they are and what they need to do because what they’re doing right now ain’t even close to Laker basketball not even close Worthy’s message is clear this team is not playing the brand of basketball that Lakers fans expect and it’s far from what the legacy of the Lakers represents where these comments are particularly tough because remember the heat had just lost two games in a row and had a losing record heading into this matchup Miami was 9 to 10 before this game and yet they demolish the Lakers in a way that’s hard to describe this was the third biggest win in heat history they set a record for the most team assists in a game 42 and also hit the most three-pointers 24 in a game if there’s one thing we know about the Lakers it’s that they shouldn’t be on the receiving end of such a performance from an underperforming team like Miami but here we are watching them fall apart so what’s going wrong with the Lakers after all they’ve got LeBron James and anthon Davis arguably two of the best players in the game well it’s not just the players on the court it’s the entire team Dynamic the Lakers are in a slump and it’s starting to look like a serious problem as of now they’ve lost six of their last 10 games and three of those losses came in the last four games in fact the Lakers have been losing by a staggering average of 2183 points in these recent defeats this is not just a rough patch this is an alarming Trend and what makes it even worse is that their defense which was once a bright spot for the team has fallen off dramatically the Lakers are now ranked 27th in the league in defense which is a far cry from the team’s usual defensive prowess earlier in the season the offense was able to cover up some of those defensive flaws but now the offense is starting to slip as well the Lakers are currently ranked 13th in offense which while decent is nowhere near what they need to be if they want to compete with the top teams in the league in their last two games alone they’ve lost by a combined 70 points when you lose that badly it’s hard to make any excuses the Lakers are starting to look like a borderline Lottery team right now they are playing Far Below their potential and if they don’t snap out of this slump they could easily find themselves falling out of playoff contention it’s hard to ignore the numbers the Lakers need to find a way to stop the bleeding regroup and refocus before their season Slips Away entirely it’s not just about one bad game it’s about a pattern that has been unfolding over several weeks now whether it’s the lack of Defense the offensive struggles or the failure to close games something has to change this isn’t the Lakers team that fans have come to know and love over the years it’s not the team that has been a staple of greatness in the NBA for decades and it’s certainly not the team that LeBron James and Anthony Davis should be leading so what do the Lakers do next do they hit the panic button should the front office make moves before the trade deadline or do they keep faith in the current roster and hope for a turn around that’s where we turn to you Lakers Nation what do you think about this recent stretch of play is it time for a major shakeup or can this team turn things around do you agree with Magic Johnson and James wor these frustrations should LeBron and AD step up even more or is it a team-wide issue let me
