can you tell us about the touchdown pass of Devonte Smith you slid away from the rush a little bit stepped up and uh we you looking for him at that yeah yeah yep yep had zero um you know he had a corner route I just felt like I needed to buy a little bit of time to let him get his release and then put it up for him uh great route by him got his feet in so you know it was a really good uh really well executed play what were you uh what was the mindset on the play to grant that was that uh would you give him more credit you you had to get away from yeah no yeah I got away from pressure and it scrambled drill I saw as soon as I saw him wheel up the field I just put it up for him and he made a hell of a play Man grant grant is a phenomenal player um doesn’t get enough enough love you know I feel like on this team because there’s so much talent um but you know been with him since I got in here we got a lot of reps together early on um you know he’s he’s a special special player you know great person so really happy for him is it any is it Bittersweet at all that you had to leave that game and you weren’t able to yeah of you know you want to finish it out of course um but you know I left it I left it all out there I did everything I could to play today um stay stay in there as long as I could so um you know I have no no regrets or anything you know leaving the stadium we got the win um that that’s all that matters so it was a special day for for everyone in there how you feeling Health boys uh I’m good I’m good I’ll I’ll be all right um you know came in with you know a little bit of an injury and um you know we’ll do some more tests and everything see how it looks but um you know I’ll be okay more on the first hit than the second one where you felt yeah the the sneaks were a little tough early on you know all the bodies laying on top of you and then uh you know those those couple hits after we tough but um you know it’s part part of the game you know that’s why you know we love the game uh do anything to win so um yeah P it looked like on that second try touch and push went for a touchdown it wasn’t so you got hit by Barson kind of coming over the top how were you able to kind of keep fighting through that yeah man you got to score you got to score I the only thing going through my head was getting the end zone hold on to the ball so um that’s a huge credit to to the guys up front though um you know they obviously have the hardest job you know of get me in the end zone there so um you know love love playing with with our offensive line you know great guys obviously incredibly talented uh just a you know really great group to play with do you ever remember the Eagles watching the Eagles win a nfc’s title or I’m sure you’re remember the Super Bowl but yeah and now you’re part of that history I it’s special it’s special man you know I sit out there on the field I’m sure there’s a kid dreaming about playing for the Eagles and um you know doing things that you know we went out there and did today so um you know it’s incredibly special you know I had a lot of lot of family here uh my dad especially you know he’s the one who took me to all the games and we have great memories together you know watching McNab and Westbrook you know back when I was really young so um it’s it’s it’s pretty cool you get a chance to talk to him yet not yet but you know when I when I get home um you know it’ll be uh pretty pretty special did you feel like you had something to proof coming into today you know after sitting for 14 games or whatever what do you think I I just wanted to come in and and do my part man you know I said to the quarterbacks you know on our way out in the tunnel before a warm-ups like you know just win at all cost that’s it that’s that’s all I care about um you know all I want to do to accompl say was you get the win you know for the team for the city um you know keep keep the momentum going that we’ve had you know you know really good season so far I wanted to keep that going so I just wanted to do my part how would you describe Tanner’s day that was awesome so happy for Tanner man he he’s a great guy um you know being in the quarterback room you spend so much time together uh you know we watch a lot of tape together on the opponent you know for whatever week it is um you know in the meetings and on the field and in the waight room so so happy for him man he does everything right um you know special day for for everybody in that locker room have you tell him it’s not that it’s not that easy yeah no you know man he’s good he’s he was prepared like you know we we go through all of our checks together and um anything that we could see out there they were you know him and Ian were great when I came off the field on the sideline um you know relaying and communicating what they were seeing and and what to expect for the next drive so you know really uh grateful for those guys that drive that made 147 you had two key third Downs the long throw to C to from 30 yards what did you see on that then with Devonte on the touchdown third down yeah yeah the scramble drill to Grant was was great um you know he did a good job of see when when he saw me escape the pocket of wheeling up the field um then I just wanted to give him a chance to make a play and he made a hell of a play um and then smidy on the third down we got zero um you know that’s a great look for that play you know we got in the right protection um I just had to buy a little bit of time in the pocket and let him you know work his release and then just put it up for him and um you know he got his feet in and did the rest so two great two great plays for us so were you feeling the ribs when you went it after you had to run the tush push twice where so were you feeling yeah yeah I was feeling a little bit then um you know obviously the the hits just stack you know and it makes it tough but um you know good news you know get some rest and and get some recovery in to get ready for the playoffs what can you say about saquon’s day or season really going over 2,000 yards today special guy man you know you know one of the best ever you know best I’ve ever been around um but you know just speaking on more of the kind of guy he is the person getting a chance to you know play golf with him just hang out and uh you know continue to to grow our friendship you know can’t say enough great things about him man he he deserves every bit of what he’s what he’s getting he’s worked for it um you know put the time in put the hours in um so so you know really happy for him when was the first time you played golf with him early early in the spring when I was yeah yeah early in the spring and uh he gave me a lot of tips to help me out man I was in rough shape shape when I started this spring so he helped me helped me get a lot better what’s around a golf like with s uh it’s fun man it’s you know a bunch of the guys we all go um it’s a great you know you put your phone down for three four hours you just get to hang out and talk about life and you know all the things that we got going on so um you know it’s it’s very much a college team feel here um everyone cares about each other and you know when the ball gets spotted we’re going to leave it all out there you know put on the line for each other so that that’s that’s incredibly special it’s not like that everywhere so you know extremely extremely grateful to be here when you look back at your performance last week and comparatively to today where do you feel like you were able to grow the most uh yeah you know just you know fine completions we started slow U you know TR we tried to establish the Run game a little bit you know we knew once we got you know one first down that we’re going to get into a flow um you know and utilize some Tempo and I think we’re we’re a tough team to stop there but you know wanted to stay diligent and disciplined through my reads and the pro progressions of each play play each play as as its own um you know that that’s really where my mind was at is just executing um you know the play at hand and then moving on have you learned anything about yourself from you know going to be a backup quarterback and then stepping in these last two weeks yeah I think uh yeah that that’s adversity that everyone in life has you know has has adversity that you got to you know continue to battle through um I’ve always leaned on the people around me I have I have a great support system you know my wife my my parents all my family members I got you know unbelievable friends you know they always have my back and they’re always pushing me and coming to A Team like this was awesome you know like I said it’s very much you know reminds me of a college feel um how how much each guy cares for each other we’re all pulling each other pulling for each other um and and we all leave it all out there and that’s all you can ask for um and then you have the talent and that that’s what makes it a really special group so um it’s it’s been a great you know it’s been a lot of fun to be here uh don’t want the ride to end so we’re
