hello and welcome to the final postgame press conference the match has concluded in favor of the Challenger 7 and a half points to six and a half I will have a few questions for Ding and we’ll then allow the press to ask a few questions and then we will allow him uh to take leave and then we’ll have questions for gesh uh same thing uh online please press one question at a time and we’ll try to keep this as efficient as possible um no one can understand what it’s like to lose a world championship match except world champions themselves we know this is a very difficult moment for you uh do you have any thoughts as this has transpired it’s easy oh yes I totally in a shock when I realized I made a Brer he first uh he face oppression shows that he very happy excited and I realize I made a blunder yeah takes time takes some time to uh to to realize it but otherwise it’s already not so easy to draw maybe I should just wait and so yeah no no game tomorrow s of a difficult moment again uh were you surprised he kept playing out this end game because it just looked like one of those that we consider a grandmas draw but he kept playing this is not a draw yesterday although also two versus three but he has a bishop reminds me some bad memories against uh Leon in the Olympia also rook and game but this time with Bishop so more chicky is there anything you’d like to say to the Victor in the match I think I played the maybe my best tournament in the year I could be better but uh considering yesterday’s lucky survive it’s a fair results to lose in the end I have no regret any any words to your fans millions of fans out there who love your play and and wish you the best thank you I will continue to play and I hope I can um can show the strength like this time any members of the press who wish to ask questions I will say personally I’ve been a great admir of you uh for quite some time I’ve called many of your games I’ve seen your fantastic games I know you’ve been a great champion and I wish you the very best in the future thank you so much thank you uh let me say congratulations the new world champion thank you uh this position to all seemed like a draw and somehow you kept pushing what was your moment your feeling the moment he played Rook F2 you must have wanted you looked like you wanted to jump out of the chair uh actually when he played Rook F2 I didn’t realize that I mean I was going to play Rook B3 almost uh but then I saw that this bishop is actually getting trapped and after King E1 I have King E5 in the pawn ending which is just winning I mean when I realized that probably the best moment of my life you say the best moment of your life what what does it mean this journey 14 games all the way to the final game winning against the champion and now you are the champion of the world uh yeah I mean uh like uh uh firstly I would like to say a few words about my opponent um we all know we all know who ding is and uh you know he has been one of the best players in history for for several years and uh and to see him struggling and to see under see him under see I mean how much pressure he had to face and the kind of fight he gave in this fight I mean in this match it’s it shows what a true true champion he is and no matter no matter who mean say what about ding for me he’s like a real world champion and uh uh this [Applause] match and yeah this match uh Champions like they always step up to the moment and obviously the past 2 years he hasn’t been been uh in great shape but but he came here he was obviously struggling during the games he was uh probably not at the best physically but he fought fought in all games he fought like a true champion and and uh yeah I’m I’m really sorry for Ding and his team I mean they put uh I they put on a great great show I’m really I would like to thank my oppent first um this couldn’t have been the same without without without my opponent and uh yeah um and uh and yeah my journey it’s been I mean since the time I started playing chess like 6 and a half 7 I’ve been dreaming about this about living this moment for like more than 10 years and um not uh I mean every chess player uh wants to experience this this moment and very few get the chance and to be one of them is uh is yeah I mean it can only uh yeah I mean it I think the only way to explain is that I’m just living my living my dream so I’d like to thank thank God first of all because mean this whole journey starting from qualifying to the candidates uh then coming till here it could only be possible by God I mean he there were so many miracles so um yeah firstly thank thankful to God and and uh and I’m really uh thankful to all the people people who uh who who have been uh who have been by my side in this journey I mean uh yeah I mean i’ I’d like to thank each and every one of them but probably I will uh I will have to prepare my speech first because the kind of emotion that I’m feeling right now I’ll say something stupid so so I’ll prepare something nice and then and then thank everyone yeah you won the candidate this year you led India to Gold this year uh you stepped into the footsteps of the great Anand and fulfilled that Destiny and now of course all of India is cheering what does that mean for your country that you have now taken the title back to India yeah um yeah I mean I’m being here representing my country country representing my country in any tournament uh but especially this being you know such such a high level uh event and for the 11 years back v s i mean the title was uh uh taken away from India so uh I mean when I was watching the match in 2013 I was in the stands and I was looking inside the glass box and I thought it’ll be so cool to to be inside one day and uh and then I mean when uh when Magnus won I thought you know I I really want to be the one to bring back the title to India and this has this dream that I had like more than 10 years ago has been the single most important thing in my life so far so um yeah uh doing this for for myself for my loved ones and my country it’s um yeah like there’s probably nothing better better than this my final question before I open up to the press that dream you talk about you were a seven eight-year-old now you’re an 18-year-old you’re the youngest champion in the history of this amazing game what does that mean to you to have broken shattered This Record uh yeah means a lot I mean it probably meant a lot to that 8-year-old then then right now because I stopped uh like paying too much attention to the youngest all these numbers I mean this records but but uh yeah I mean the like there is this famous uh clip I think the with uh which I did with sagur in 20 2017 or something where I when I said I wanted to be the youngest world champion and uh now that now that um this this is not not just a dream but reality it feels I think that uh that 8-year-old kid would be really happy very cool first question for the Press first of all KES congrats uh from your fans around the world and on Fay social media a question for you is what was the best part of this entire experience on or off the chess board uh um I think the best part was probably like when I entered the room for game one I mean I mean the game did not go great but uh but like I’ve been yeah as I said in 2013 I was outside the glass box I did not get a seat in the in the audience to watch the match so at at that time I just looked at vesar and Magnus and I thought it’ll be really cool to be there one day and to to actually be there and sit there and know see to see the Indian flag next to me it’s it was probably the best best moment uh congrats Gish I’m arre from rep Sports uh you are not the sort who shows emotions a lot of times uh today we saw after we you won that you were in tears and can you just uh take us through the feelings that uh went through your mind uh when that moment happened when that moment arrived um yeah I probably got so emotional because I did not really expect to win that position I mean I was going to press it for as long as it as I could possibly uh press but uh I thought like I mean it’s okay we are going to play for five six hours it’s going to end in a draw um and uh let’s focus on the tie breaks but then suddenly after Rook F2 and I saw this chance that I mean when I saw that this actually done I yeah I mean I I mean I like I was already preparing myself to go through that uh huge tie break uh fight and suddenly it was all over and I and I had achieved uh my dream yeah I mean I’m not someone who shows lot of emotions but I think this this one can be forgiven thank you and congrats again thank you hi gkes congratulations this is adya from chessbase India just wanted to remind that you are the Olympiad gold medalist the candidate winner and also the youngest world champion ever so 18th world champion yes and also there’s another record that comes with it three World Championship wins the youngest wins ever so we should also found that sorry three youngest wins like uh Challenger youngest Challenger winning three games in a world championship match that has also never happened so we should never forget that yeah so while I am still trying to uh catch my breath as we enjoyed the F last 30 minutes what advice would you give to that young boy who were trying to learn chess from the C from your cousins and trying to beat them in the next moment your mother told the story that you learned it from your cousins and then you were beating them uhhuh so what what advice would you give to that young boy um mean I wouldn’t change a single thing about about my career because like I mean right now I’m here and any little thing uh that would make me not uh come here I would not do so uh I think I will just say keep enjoying chess you’re going to achieve your dream one day and right and as just following up on that as your mother told the story would you like to share with us what is the first thing you told your mom after you won the World Championship you had a conversation first thing what your mother said not saying anything we both crying yeah but uh I probably my first word was congratulations yeah thank you congrats again yeah thank you GES congratulations on historic Victory I’m Ajit Kumar from the Hindu is it time for you to reveal us to reveal your seconds your team yeah yeah I would love to um so firstly uh guou uh he has been my my trainer for the past two years I mean he he is someone who just uh you know Works tirelessly for me so huge huge congrats and thank you to guou and uh and uh and also since Patty is here I would like to mention I mean Patty has been a huge huge uh support for me in the past uh 6 months for the preparation of the world championship so although uh he’s not part of my chess team he has been a very very important uh uh person in my team and and my um and my journey towards this match so I’m really glad to have you here paty and uh thank you so much may we ask just to to give them give full names if possible so that other other people can know exactly you’re talking gu is OS gski and paty is Patty Upton and um I would also like to thank uh radic radis vashek he was uh he was uh uh I mean yeah he was also there for the candidates and uh so the whole journey he was here uh and pentala harik Krishna he is uh he has also been yeah he has also been for the whole um uh whole candidates World Championship journey and uh Vincent ker he has uh yeah he joined uh join the team for the match and yeah and uh and Yan Kristoff Duda he was uh he was also there for the candidates but more as a playing partner this time he helped us in a couple of training camps so um yeah and uh I mean this list cannot he’s trying to suggest one more there’s one more wishes who are you suggesting just give us the name for for the for the for the candidates uh like during the candidates uh I mean Yan clim klimovsky was also helping guou in I mean assisting him for the preparation during the candidates so I would also like to thank Yan I mean we haven’t had the uh chance to talk with Yan personally to thank him for the candidates but you know right now I think it will be a good moment to come all the way and then thank thank him so Yan really helped guou during the candidates so Yan klimovsky and U and vishy sir I mean I mean he was never officially a part of the team but we all know that uh you know he was doing uh uh like he was supporting uh supporting me and uh I mean he attended for one of the uh on one of the days for the the training camps but he was also helping uh uh remotely uh for a few sessions so yeah I mean this team every single one of them they work their asses off so I I I can’t thank uh thank all of them enough and and uh yeah I mean this journey I wouldn’t I wouldn’t have uh been here without every single one of them so thank you thank you so much guys um I’m sorry we haven’t still talking I mean I spoke with uh guou but probably we’ll get on a call and we’ll just uh celebrate like crazy now uh the guys are uh together in Spain right now um and uh and yeah really looking forward to talking to them congrats on you know hiding your team so well too congratulations GES the fans Zone was crazy after Rook F2 uh it was just silence and then that’s it so my name is Ahmed um I’m talking on behalf of Kazakhstan telegram Channel chess n and we have a question uh whom would you like to play against to defend your champion title I have two years for that I just want to enjoy this moment thank you thank you much congratulations GES U I’m sure you’ll hear that more than once today um this goes and pertains to all the chess parents watching across the world uh can you describe how specifically your parents and their sacrifice has helped you along your chess Journey all the way leading up to winning the World Chess Championship yeah uh I can I mean I would like to thank us like a very small word for what they have done so my both my parents my mom and dad I mean my dad is here my mom and fortunately I mean it’s it’s not here but she’s back home and she is I’m sure she is very happy probably she will come tomorrow uh to celebrate uh but uh both my parents right from the start I mean it’s uh the the dream dream was probably bigger for them than than it was for me because uh firstly to start with I mean they they both are sports lovers and uh uh you know back in their youth they did not get the chance to uh pursue their um you know pursue their uh passion and uh and when I was born they decided that whatever I want to do they will do everything they can to to support me in every way possible and uh yeah when I started showing interest in chess and and uh showed some Talent they they went to such lens that I I mean I did not understand at that time but around now I look back at it and I mean they they are just crazy so yeah I yeah I mean I can’t thank them enough they have been they have both of them have been simply the biggest support and they are um yeah I mean I my whole journey uh it’s not only for me it’s it’s uh for them so yeah I mean I I love them both and I thank them very much thank you congratulations to the 18th world champion uh my name is anit Dalal and I’m from Sans Samar uh gukesh I’m going to ask you a very important question uh it’s regarding paty Upton because the mental conditioning and what his role is not been spoken about uh in chess earlier where we have seen other sports he’s also a celebrity in terms of he made Indian team win the world uh cricket final Final in 2011 so what was exact his his role and what would you tell the upcoming players how important mental conditioning is in Chase yeah um so firstly uh paty we we started uh working together sorry uh working together around uh around May May June uh with the help of uh uh uh I mean s s my my sponsor Westbridge U they arranged I mean they I mean sandip s introduced uh introduced me and paty and uh I I I just uh thought that um like uh especially for the world championship and what it is what are the stakes the the right mental state uh I should be in is very important and uh we decided to work with Patty at that time and the work uh has been as I said very enjoyable and very instructive we’ve had like so many conversations uh through this uh through these months and um and I mean there have been many things that we discussed like obviously one of the one of the important things that I had to deal with is you know the uncertainity with my open and uh form or the approach and stuff like that although Patty does not understand uh chess uh very well but he he you know understands Sport and understands the psychology and uh uh stuff behind that not only not only the mental part but also he helped me uh plan some you know workouts to stay in shape physically as well uh and mostly it was about having conversations sharing my thoughts and you know uh some feedback he would listen to the thoughts he would uh he would suggest a few things and um and yeah it’s really cool that uh you know paty helped uh Indian cricket wi 2011 World Cup and uh and this time he has helped chess 13 years later so it’s uh Patty has been a huge role for huge played a huge role in this uh in this uh match I would like to thank him very very much and my advice uh for for chess players I mean youngsters would be like there are many Sports where uh like when people athletes work with uh with mental trainers mental physical trainers but in chess it’s somehow like not that uh popular and I think it’s it makes sense in chess because chess is a very mental Sport and you need to it’s all happening here so um yeah I I really see uh the mental I mean the psychological side of uh chess growing in the next Years thank you so much congratulations Gish Sir mik kle with chess.com there’s been a lot of great questions about family and Legacy but I wanted to ask you about the match you were pushing in a lot of equal positions for a win and uh today was like the Breakthrough do you feel like in some way you were rewarded for your tenacity by by getting a win u in such a you know relatively equal end game of course you up a pawn but do you feel like there was some sort of you know Justice that you uh you won one of these uh objectively drawn positions um so firstly I I I mean obviously this position is a draw but uh with the Bishops on this 3 versus 2 I I thought there are just lot of uh stuff that could go wrong I mean it shouldn’t but it it can yeah I mean uh like for example I was calculating some some of the bishop endings for example if once he plays uh once we traded the pawns for example the uh the bishop ending if I get making on E3 would just be winning I think so there were a lot of tricks that uh that needed to be taken care of so I don’t think it was such a drawn position but but uh my whole strategy for this for this match was to push as much as possible in every single game with both colors and uh I mean it wasn’t working till the last moment but it just takes one game to for uh the strategy to pay off so I was confident about my strategy my Approach and uh and uh yeah I mean at the very least I was tiing him out yeah so it was um it was good that way and um and since I won yeah I could say it was a good strategy yeah you gave a good lesson and fighting Spirit thanks again hi gesh this is Rajesh from Trinity miror congrats on becoming the 18th world champion and second from India so all the world champions like we see the S success aspect of it but uh no one reaches a top without overcoming the tough challenges so can you share uh some details of what was the toughest challenges you have faced on your way on your journey to becoming the world champion and also your biggest strength and uh the key to becoming world champion um yeah uh if you’re talking about if we are talking about the the match itself I think the toughest challenge I had to face was was losing the first game I mean I I knew it could happen I knew I I mean I I I was prepared for it but it’s like no matter how much you prepare for it you come here as an 18-year-old and you lose the first game like the way I did it’s it’s humiliating a bit so uh it was quite tough to handle that but but after the game uh there was a nice moment because I was walking back to the hotel in the lift and visha was also on in the lift and he told me uh I had 11 games you have 13 games and that’s the only thing he said and uh I realized okay it was a nice moment uh like I mean I uh it it was nice reminder that like uh it it was just one game and it’s still a long match I I will get my chances so uh yeah I needed some some uh mental toughness at that point and there have been many games where I was so close to winning and and then missing my chances which was also frustrating so I had to endure these things which which was quite tough but uh but yeah in the end uh it worked out I was talking about your career as a whole like your childhood dream like was a big world champion so what are the sacrifices you mentioned uh there were a lot of uh problems you you had to overcome like your family had to make sacrifices from that point of view as well the challenges um yeah in my career I would say can’t really say I I personally have made many sacrifices because there just something that I have always wanted to do and it’s just uh uh yeah I mean I wouldn’t have my life any other way so but my parents but yeah the the most sacrifices I think uh I think are done by my parents my family friends um I mean my parents had to like once uh I started growing in my in my um career they had to uh I mean we were not uh very uh very uh what to say well of family so they had to face a lot of financial struggles but I mean I did not really realize it at that point but the kind of lens to where they went and and uh uh for at some point in 2017 2018 um uh I I could only play tournaments and I could only train because I mean we were uh running so low on money that actually my friends uh my parents friends uh they they came forward and they sponsored me uh themselves to help me play tournaments so all these things uh my parents had to endure and all these Lifestyle Changes they had to make um for me just to get a chance to play a tournament so it was uh yeah the best sacrifices are done by my parents and also my team yeah I mean uh all the all the guys in my team but especially uh you know like gou radic and Har are also fathers to little kids so it’s not easy for them to in this intense preparation it’s not easy for them to stay away from uh from their family especially uh having uh having little kids and the way that they were able to stay away for so long and do some amazing work and fight till the very moment and and that too for for me so it it was really a selfless sacrifice from from them and and uh yeah I mean there have been many more sacrifices but we can keep keep uh keep uh I think you can keep going on and on but but yeah everyone has uh done a lot for me to reach here and I’m I’m really really grateful uh to to all those all the people thank you the second part of the question was about your biggest strength which uh was key to you becoming the champion uh right um I think uh I think the people around me itself um like whenever I I feel low I think about think about uh you know what these people are doing for me and yeah I think about what these people are doing for me and it’s I yeah all the energy that I need I get get from know from my loved ones and uh and also God uh I I have uh I have faith in God and he has helped me in so many ways that like for example I in last year 23 I after the grandf I was I have I just G gave up for the candidate sport I was not even qualifying for the candidates and then God made me I mean God gave me so many opportunities and first of all winning this Chennai Grand I mean first of all Chen Grand Master is taking place and and me winning it despite being in such horrible form and uh and then winning the candidates I mean last round uh I mean it could have gone to tie breaks but but but uh God helped me and even here it could have gone to TI breaks and still um yeah I mean it on and on yeah like so many things that uh God has done and it’s yeah it couldn’t have been uh by anybody else congrats J thank you hi GES this is Karthik from time teaches uh first of all congratulations man and uh we know each other for past 10 years uh I was all about always been curious how determined and passionate you are from very age imagine yourself 10 years back and have you ever pictured yourself stagnant at some point of time if so what did you see at that time and now you have made history what is your next big game um yeah I mean first of all we when I when I started playing chess we were in the same Academy and we traveled to a lot of tournaments together so it’s really nice that you came here I’m I was really glad to see you yesterday so thank you for coming and uh and um yeah uh there have been a lot of uh faces where I was stagnant where I was getting frustrated where I was not the results were not coming but there wasn’t any any point in my life where I thought my game is not improving because I was um like apart from maybe small moments where I was like a bit distracted but uh but most of my career I I have been quite disciplined and doing the right things and working hard um staying focused on my career and uh and yeah I’ve always thought uh like when you do the do the right things even when the results don’t show up it’s going to at some point so when I was doing those right things and the results didn’t didn’t uh show up but um uh the results didn’t show up I it was I mean it was obviously very frustrating but uh but yeah the main thing I guess was to just keep doing the right things and when you do the right things usually good things happen I I believe in that so yeah superb and what is the next big game that was the following question yeah now we have made history so what is the next big game um I mean the dream uh I would say this is this has always been just a part of the dream a very very big part of the dream uh it is a huge step I’m uh I’m uh I’m very happy for that but uh my my goal in with my career has always been to be at the very top uh for for the longest time possible and um I mean my career is just starting now like I’ve had 10 10 years I want to play for play for as long as I can I want to have a very very long career and to stay at the very very top by um obviously uh becoming the world champion doesn’t mean that I’m the best player in the world obviously there’s Magnus uh so it’s it’s also uh a motivating factor that you know there is someone at a very very high level and um someone something that uh that will keep me uh doing the right things working hard and trying to reach the level of greatness that Magnus has Agnus Magnus has achieved super back I can hear you say uh it’s just the beginning and uh kudos to your team Magnus thank you bye-bye uh my name is Rada from the Singapore Chess Federation um first of all congratulations we all had tears in our eyes watching you um become the first Champion my question is what what did you learn about your opponent digan in this Championship um yeah the biggest thing that I learned about ding is what an incredible fighter he is like I think we all we all knew it but but uh especially for me the way that he was uh fighting in in all the games I mean uh he he was obviously not uh at his best physically um he seemed seemed to be at least but uh but true Champions no matter the circumstances they fight till the very end and uh he just proved that uh he I mean in the games where where uh he was almost going to give up where the position was completely uh losing for him he kept finding resources he kept F uh fighting and then once I took the leg he played an amazing game to fight back and it was actually quite to be honest after I 12 after I lost the 12th game it was also uh did I lose the 12th game yeah the 12th game uh it was uh I mean it was a bit disappointing but I soon realized uh it’s also I mean I was getting inspired by my opponent because like I for the whole I mean for the first game he won and then I equalized and then I took the lead any any normal human being would have just given up at that point but then he came the next day and he played a great game he completely destroyed me that game and um yeah and it was really inspiring to see you know how despite how how uh like how the odds are against him he kept fighting he kept coming to the board giving it us all and yeah he’s a real inspiration for me hi I’m Kyla representing the local organizing committee first of all congratulations um secondly I watched a video of you giving a room tour to chess Bas India and I saw that you kept all of your major trophies and medals right there in your bedroom but for this world championship trophy are you going to do anything special uh I don’t know I haven’t thought about it first I have to like lift the trophy um but uh um like where you keep it it deserves as a as a like special place I think so we’ll we’ll think of something okay thank you congratulations kukesh and thank you for creating one of the best moments of magic that Indian sport has ever seen thank you so much uh my question is if you if one looks at the life journey of a world chess champion it pans like a chess game the opening when you choose to pursue the sport the middle game when you make the journey to being a Grandmaster and the end game where you become the champion and here you are you’ve talked about the sacrifices at every stage can you tell us about the best moves that you and the people around you have made in your journey to getting here um I think the first thing and the most important thing um that that has H like happened in the whole uh in my whole career is is the dream that I had as a kid yeah I mean without that I think none of this would have made sense so um uh that uh that dream was the D driving factor for everything and uh and the I am personally proud of uh how like uh personally what I what I have done I’m I’m quite proud of how how consistent I have been I mean not my results but but in the way I um that I live my life and the way I um the the way I work on chess um it has been uh like it was easier when to do uh like a few years back when I was still a kid but then after I uh became a teenager obviously like uh chess is not the only thing uh on your on your mind but I’m quite proud of how I was able to like keep away all the distractions and focus fully on what uh uh on achieving uh achieving this dream and uh um and uh I would say the best moves have been made actually by by the people around me uh my parents to to start with they yeah as I said they have done done so much I mean apart from their sacrifices whenever uh whenever I needed something it has they all made sure that it’s it’s there uh whether it’s emotional support or something things or some any anything uh they’ve made sure that it’s there and uh um and my team have done a lot of great moves I mean we we saw so many uh exciting ideas in this match uh so yeah the best moves have been made by uh by God uh by the people around me and I have made a few good moves which I’m happy about as well thank you gkes I hope your best is yet to come all the best for that we have a few more questions Michael Ral from the FID press office so um first of all congratulations on a magnificent game and being the new world champion your next major event is the world Blitz and Rapid in two weeks in New York as new world champion can you confirm to us you will participate in both events and again have you planned any special preparation or special training C for this new event thank you uh to be honest at this moment I I I haven’t thought about it I thought I’m I was going to play before the match started but uh but right now I’m I’m not sure I would I I can’t say whether I would play or not I’m right now I’m just not sure um but uhu I mean it’s a it’s a very very important even very exciting one uh whether I play or not I wish it do a it is a great tournament hi um this is chunan from The Wall Street Journal uh congratulations for becoming the next current world champion and uh my question is basically you know you you were part of a you know team of fantastic Indian Grand Masters who you know won the Olympiad and do you do you think there’s a chance that given the dominance of you this new wave of Indian Grand Masters do you could you the next future opponents could be your fellow Indian teammates and if not do you how would you prefer that your next Challenger could be Magnus Carson coming back to take you on um yeah I I mean obviously uh playing against Magnus in a world championship would be would be amazing it’ll be a huge challenge the toughest probably there is toughest challenge there is uh in chess uh I mean it is up to Magnus but I would I would love to love to test myself against the best player in the world um and uh and the Indians yeah yeah I mean Arjun PR uh yeah Nial lot of lot of this uh lot of these guys uh with the I mean lot of these guys have U you know are are doing a lot for chess and Indian chess we won the Olympiad which was a beautiful experience in itself for me and and and the team um and I certainly hope uh you know throughout uh I’m sure we are going to have like very long careers and I’m sure I hope all of us we we will keep fighting against each other keep pushing keep motivating each other and also in the team tournaments will play together and win a lot more um I would uh I would also love to uh love to play against uh an Indian opponent in a world championship or any other tournament I mean they are great guys great players and uh I wish them uh the best and uh I hope this win motivates them and they will achieve more things that will motivate me even more so thank you thank you hope to see that happen from tarania triny miror and chess. ninja uh congratulations to the 18th world champion so you brought home the title after wishi so at this moment uh what is the message that you would want to give to the your millions of followers whom you have made Happy yourself and them uh can you answer it in Tamil H um yeah firstly like the in the match full so um like uh also in [Music] the I mean for example uh like uh or Indian Indian uh Indian family yeah oh he is thanking the millions of Indians who prayed for him in moments of difficulty and he wishes to thank one Indian family that prayed uh in Temple in Bangalore and got those uh you know blessings for him all the way to Singapore hi hi this is loesh from India congrats kukesh uh one question for last 3 weeks I mean as a fan we were Sleepless how was your sleep was it good good restlessness or how was it can you just describe that um to be very honest my sleep wasn’t great either but I think that is uh that is understandable but actually uh uh after the on the rest day after the 12th game I spoke with uh Patty about this uh that I’m I mean the last few days before uh before 12th game my I wasn’t sleeping well I was feeling a bit groggy on the board so I asked Paddy uh for some advice and he gave me some little uh I mean he suggested some little uh little changes which I which I did um I set up the environment uh in a better way and the last two days I slept very well I was sleeping at least 8 hours and um yeah um like I I made some some changes on the rest day and it and it really helped and uh yeah the the previous game uh the game 13 and game 14 I I felt quite fresh on the board and I was able to play long games and put a lot of pressure on on my oppent so yeah sleep is a very important part and I would like to uh thank Patty for uh for um like uh for suggesting these changes which which really helped thank you thank you Abida from CH base India first of all huge congratulations to you the entire nation is very proud of you um when India won the uh Olympia you created a celebratory dance if you remember do you have do you have any plans uh what you going to do this time uh I know that I’m going not going to sleep tonight but uh what I’m going to do I I’m probably just going to hang out with uh with uh friends with my team i’ like to I mean I like to talk with lot of people back home and uh who have who are here back home and I can give you reveal a one reveal one secret guou will be very happy to hear this I think uh so on the on the rest day rest day after game I think the uh penalty mat rest day maybe after game N9 or something I don’t remember but um on the on the Dr day we went for a walk on the beach and uh guy I mean we looked at uh this I mean I’m I’m personally quite scared of heights so guou uh we both looked at this people who were trying bung jumping and uh and guou said if you win this thing I’m going to jump off I’m going to I’m going to do bunge jumping you can go three so yeah and and then I and then I don’t know why I said this but I said I’ll also join you so now I now I yeah yeah probably also Patty can join me so probably now I’ll yeah looking forward to jumping off a bridge yeah we’ll wait to shoot that thank you so much we’ll wait to shoot that yes uh okay thank you soat rations once again thank before I uh last question oh sorry sorry I’m usually awake cannot stay in the queue um uh Maria photo chess uh congratulations I I have to reveal I was crying twice during this uh tournament once was uh Game 12 and once was today uh but I still took the photo of you crying thank you um I I wanted to ask two questions actually if I may um but first one is about Dubai you were there at the training camp during the match uhhuh and what were your s thoughts back then I know that during chenai you you were like very small but during Dubai did you think I want to be there one day or did you think I’m going to be there one day um yeah it was quite different in Dubai and Chennai obviously in Chennai it was like I thought like uh like a little kid would think I mean it would be cool if I have this toy so for me I thought it’ll be cool if I have if I’m inside that glass door and I glass room and uh in Dubai I was more focused on the chess purely like I mean this uh these games are so amazing by both Carson and Neo that I was just enjoying the games for a few for a few days and uh at that time I was probably I like I I understood what what it is more than than in Chennai I to be honest I did not think it would be so soon but yeah I certainly wanted to be wanted to be in there and and when I when I um yeah when I saw the match I learned a lot of things I I mean I could see I mean I was in the audience for a few for a few games I was watching them play also some of the lessons I learned from them match helped me here so so yeah these both matches where I was present really I I remember like I can see the vision I mean I I don’t remember much from my childhood but seeing V and Magnus inside that glass door I clear I have a clear vision of that so yeah these both uh are very special moments in my life and a second question um I just really want to ask this after when when I asked my first question after game three uh I actually got a lot of criticism for it for asking you about what Magnus said and I personally felt like that um it doesn’t matter that you’re 18y old if you’re here it means you are fighting for this and you are you ready for any questions for any tough situations and I wanted to ask you um did you ever think during this match I I’m just 18 um I mean I I thought if I win this I would be 18 and I would be so the world champion in such a young age but but uh you’re you’re completely right I mean if if I’m here I have to handle any anything and for me it was not like I was not hoping in any kind of way that because of my age people will take take it a bit easy on me I was ready for uh ready to have face the toughest uh Challenge on the board and off the board as well so and also it’s kind of nice sometimes to know that people are criticizing you it kind of fires me up so it’s uh yeah in the future maybe like uh I could hear more I could uh like it would be nice to have uh you know more more criticism so that I’ll get fired up you more all right internet we will be there for this and you handled it very amazing that that question thank you thank last question please so I’d like to introduce uh Barat Singh from the all Indian Chess Federation I think he wants to say a few words hi gesh big congratulations and thank you very much giving such a wonderful moment to all Indians so many people every day they’re watching shouting I think we are all grateful to you giving this wow moment to all of us thank you I’m I’m also grateful for all the all the support yeah thank you before I ask my last question before I ask my last question I’d like to uh let everyone know tomorrow the closing ceremony and the crowning of the new Champion will happen at 6: p.m. local time in the same playing Hall where they have played I just have one last question for you and that is uh a one-word answer when you hear the words world champion GES dearu what’s the word that comes
