[Music] season one of the professional women’s hockey league was a Sprint that ended with Minnesota hoisting the Walter Cup in this very building now both the frost and the fleet will try for their first win of the new season tonight Panic does win the draw right back to Jake spot off by Frankle and just for good measure another spectacular save by the fleet’s net minder welcome back to the Saga Center where it is the Boston fleet’s home opener here tonight still scoreless in a game that’s been dictated by the goalies Dave Starman uh it certainly has been if you’ve been watching hockey in the United States for a long time with the women side a lot of these names are going to sound familiar getting good chances making big saves here’s Kendall coin scull field with a good opportunity stopped by Franklin who seals up nice little chip to space some Winkle with a great chance a look at Frankle as she changes her depth to get out and stop that here comes Megan Keller great chance big stop and then we go the other way Hillary Knight and a huge save in goal by Manny Roney real good work Frank with another big one here she climbs the boat goalie’s put on a great show in Period number one we take a look at the first period stats Minnesota actually a little misleading here cuz they’re 0 for two on the power play but they’re already underway with their third power play of the game so far oh Point go field on the four check CES in around and a chance in front for K this score chaos in the crease and Minnesota finally breaks [Music] through so what have we just talked about with Minnesota staying above pucks winning races winning 50/50s playing in the grease pan creating chances and they go to work here once again behind the net net back little sneaky behind the back passed by hey Cava goes to the net and scores this looks like Cava from the final last year where she was around the net all the time hacking away trying to put Puck to the frette she whiffed on this one but she popped it up just enough that Frankle could find to get the fortunate bounce but Minnesota gets rewarded on a fluky goal by hard work in the offensive zone the cage and Boston sorts it out Mueller with a massive hit by Maggie flarity we’re going to get a whistle oh my goodness Molina Mueller a bit slow to get up certainly hope she’s okay but was a bit nasty here in the neutral zone flarity lines up picks up the elbow that’s that’s going to that’s going to cost this probably is a five watch the elbow come up it’s direct contact through the head in a situation like this you you call the major and then it goes automatically to reviews captains will skate to the center of the ice to discuss with the [Music] referee and the good thing for Boston is he’s a natural centerman or Center who is good at taking draws if there’s any bonus to the four that are out there well either way this will be Boston’s first Power Play of the game [Music] you can see the referee talking at L to Hillary Knight who’s looking for an explanation I I’ll be honest little surprised and they are going with just the two minutes that’s the look of a bit of relief I can imagine for Maggie flarity the crowd does not like the call the S Center where the Minnesota Frost lead the block Boston Fleet One nothing after two shots are 20 to 11 in favor of the visiting Frost and really the story has been a Frankle despite trailing one nothing the Boston net Miner has been outstanding throughout this game she really has so the team’s giv her a lead now she’s standing up and playing much of the identity that she played with a lot last year Cava scores the goal that makes it one nothing great little play from behind the that little back pass and a Fly ball above the other green monster in Boston and that is Aaron Frankle gives Minnesota the one- nothing lead and then all period long it’s been Matty Rooney who is just has been tremendous she has kept a kept a really clean crease here a lot of saves not a lot of rebounds she’s playing very aggressive depth in a lot of situations cut down angles but to me the bottom line for her is most of the saves that she has made she has been able to keep rebounds in front of her and has not had to scramble nor force her defense into very stressful situation neither team able to break through on the power play so far here tonight three opportunities for Minnesota just the one for Bost late in that period cross to her teammates in with speed as Emma Greco Bard rather hands it off for Knight Hannah Brandt will bring it around the boards and find Bard on the other side centering pass for Knight going up high for Keller Keller tried the tip Pucket loose in front somehow stays out and Rooney finds it [Applause] tremendous here really good focus and finding the puck keep your eye on the puck in a PR position putting yourself in a position to make a second stop nice job by killer at the point to get that shot low and through to the net where she knew traffic was coming but when you take a look at how Rooney played this even though she is in a prone position after getting knocked down she keeps herself front forward so she she entered the Zone one against four and did what we talked about earlier found some time and a deflection and in Hillary KN has tied this game at [Music] one the entry set up this entire play it’ll go under noticed and underrated but it was the biggest part of the play Boston gains the zone bilet does it look at it she attacked one on four finds soft ice delays now it’s a five on five now Boston can go to work and they move the puck in the good spaces and they set up D Alo now with a chance as a Defender to come down low and create some Havoc Boston goes into Puck control mode they throw a puck to the front of the net and they get a tip smart simple fundamental as Channel now a drive and finds the back of the net how about that Melissa Channel Watkins looks like it deflected in and it did it’s Dominic Petri with her second goal in two games very similar goal to the one that Boston just scored and that is some offensive zone time Puck comes around Channel takes your time walks the line uses r a bit of a screen goes to the front of the net and finds a stick to do the rest of the work see the puck deflect I’m not sure whether or not Petri got it that might be Channel’s goals I think the puck deflected before well Petri led the line Rush which usually means she felt something off the boards to gable gable there goes Aaron Frankle extra attacker on now for the Boston Fleet just kidding Frankle had to skate back to make sure that puck stayed [Applause] out if she gets to the bench and gets on it she can’t do that but if she’s on her way to the bench she can turn back around that’s a legal play and it was a smart one too she was on her way and then said n not so much she was more than halfway there my goodness remember earli in the game we talked about how she’s consistently worked on her skating there’s a great example of where it came into came into and panic does indeed win it although Boston takes over Keller over toight hit panic in front huge block shot Panic tries to flip it out of the zone held in Grant over to Keller Keller a drive that goes wide time winds down and the Minnesota Frost have their first win of the new season
