for the club this is unprecedented times unprecedented moments but I’ll tell you something and I know that every city fan around the world will agree with me on this if there is one Club if there is one set of players if there is one coach who can turn this on its head and make us gloriously celebrate when the trophies are given out at the end of the season and is this current crop with Pep we reflect upon as the turning point in the road now let’s go back to the studio I am sure a very interesting opinion will be given by Michael Brown lley King in the company of Kel Felman it’s fulltime here at the etad stadium and this is a score line I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a score like this at the etad stadium it’s finished Manchester City nil Tottenham hot spur four Spurs winning 4-0 on the night here in the etad stadium alongside M lley King and and Michael Brown lley just for more of a a positive feeling I mean from you how delighted are you with that with that result I mean that’s going to send shock waves around the Premier League it will it will and you know what we spoke about not having the First Choice center backs um we knew that City had been on you know four games that they had lost in a row so we expected a reaction um so fantastic result on the off the back of uh uh IP switch defeat to come here and put in a display like that was was fantastic well we also obviously touched upon you know an not really doesn’t change from how he wants to play and actually what you’ve seen there is someone who’s stuck to the principles and reap the benefits of it LLY yeah well you know as I’ve said he feels that that’s the best way for Spurs to to to play and to approach the game you know playing on their front foot playing their style of football and that’s what we saw today we saw a team that was Brave although they was under the Kush in the first 10 minutes of the game every time they had the ball they tried to play didn’t they they still tried to play yeah and that’s what you want to see you don’t want to see them to to to Long balls giving the ball away stick to your principles keep trying to play through the lines and when we managed to do that we look dangerous it really did more than dangerous uh clinical as well uh put the ball in the back of the net four times it was looking like a you could put it down bad day at the office little bit unlucky maybe not taking early chances Michael but at a full-time result with 4-0 there’s there’s there’s questions there of of what’s happened tonight what do you think could be part of the answer to that question what has happened you conceding far too many goals collectively that’s for certain um I think the way the game went you’re chasing it you know the third goal obviously changed lots of things and then you’re trying to do everything possible we made the changes later on still as it’s going fizzing past post and great balls in just wasn’t going to go in the net was it for for city today after a positive start creating chances but we can’t concede goals like that I mean I felt that the one at the end was going to come you’re so open you’re going for it demoralize at three um you don’t want to see it um but the fourth fourth one really just top off really the frustration that’s all around at this moment in time um it’s great to see Kevin come back on things happen very very quickly uh lots of chances lots of opportunities but the damage is already done and I think you know the game plan into the second half was come and try and get back into it once you you’re conceding goals at bad times and and that’s got to change um we got to look at it as I say um it’s not just a defense I think it’s from all around the pitch I think that’s what’s most important um over and turnover for sure sure and um there a lot to think about now psychologically that’ll be really hurting in that dressing room I don’t what you think LED I mean going back in after that M yeah 40 at home I mean off the back of four defeats as I said you expected a reaction and and to be honest during that that second half I never really felt that Tottenham were under that much pressure defended as a unit well didn’t you know they comtable they looked comfortable they looked like they was enjoying it you know rather than it being really hard work up against it they look like they was really enjoying what would what would be your message in that in that dressing room now as a as a as a captain what what would you City you know to say what what you going to say cuz this this this is new we’ve not seen this yeah we’ve not seen this um they have to they have to trust themselves they have to back themselves the only way out of it is to continue to do the right things on the training pitch work hard and play your e through it there’s no other way is it I think the worrying thing is for Pep A little bit he’s probably thinking how do I get through this this little spell you know he’s probably never had to deal with this normally have you seen anything different there J know from watching you come quite a lot and you watch City this season for me they just don’t seem to have that creative spark we know they’re missing de bruyne we saw the difference he he makes when he come come on but just someone else who can do anything you know the ball the ball’s going from side to side but there’s no one penetrating no one’s trying to take anyone on um and as I say it was quite easy for Spurs in the end to defend it’s the worry for me well and off that question Michael is I think where we we get to you privilege to watch each games each week it feel like this has been coming even when we were getting those early wins you know the the IP switch game here they scored first you know another were grinding out and so it doesn’t feel as a surprise and that’s where it’s interesting you say it’s it’s all around the pitch is that also then where your leaders need to step up and I know coming back to basic lead is in there we’re going back to basics you know like of sort of saying well we got to understand what’s in that dressing room pure quality um of of of top players and it’s just a little spell and I don’t think we we need to dissect too much um into it uh the team will will recover this a Spur side who can hurt you who attack you got quality at the top of the pitch um it’s another bad day and and and that’s it really um just got to find a weight there’s a lot there’s not much time for you know the fixtures that are coming you got to just react quickly yeah I mean as well we talked about obviously there’s the defensive side a bit we were just talking as well lley and I think we said before the game Tottenham haven’t got the first two Choice Center offs City came with the bit between the teeth but it’s interesting that we finish game saying second off it didn’t even feel like City tested the goal so one we’re looking at conceding but do we also need to be looking at where are we going to be getting more goals from because it seems if harland’s not scoring you can’t really see them at the moment we didn’t threaten too much today not not enough for me um and I don’t think foden scored a Premier League goal this season which is you know he was pH needs I mean um as I say I mean the wing at sveno um you know good players but they don’t look like they’re scoring goals at the moment if it’s not if it’s not Harland I do want worry a little bit where the goals are coming from at the moment for City but um that’s we keep saying de Bru is a big he makes such a difference yeah you know he makes such a difference to the team he’s able to create Chances with browny saying just give him the ball every time he had the ball if players make runs and make movement he’ll find yeah and him getting him back is is going to be key as well but also shows how much they do miss rodri you know I know it’s not just down to Roger not being available but it does make a big difference to the team makes a huge huge difference I’m just dissecting that second half a little bit I know we probably won’t want it but it’s important we talked about how important the next goal was and and timing wise sadly I think it was we had even gone 10 minutes into the second half and it didn’t come City’s way as maybe we were hoping it went Spurs his way could could we have done anything better there well I think he just lose lose the ball in the middle of the pitch and the transition’s quick yeah um and then recovery runs I think could have been a little bit better a little bit of confusion in the middle of the pitch and then the runners were there Paul comes back and and that’s that’s really where you are you’ve got to recover quicker yeah uh with more Pace more Tempo a little bit open again um because you’re trying to find that you know that that that goal to bring you back in it um and it’s again it’s just it’s just losing the ball we discussed it all through the start you however much you want to defend that you lose the ball at this level against good players in the wrong areas you’ll be punished the first two goals were absolutely classed by Spurs and it that that won the game yeah that changed the outcome for me there were top top goals that you just really really been critical um on City defensively rather than giving the credit for the goals I think and that changed the game and City not taking their chances there you go that’s that’s we can analyze it we can look and see what’s going wrong um the game was in the balance in those key moments we didn’t deliver and and two players who did deliver on the the the conversity the the opposition point of view two plays we singled out as well Madison and keski for me I thought today were were were brilliant yeah yeah very good I think kisi he was important to the team because we spoke about he’s a person that can bring the team up the pitch you know he’s he’s the one kind of dribbler in the team yeah who was able to make something happen I thought he started the game fantastically well as well U as as did Madison um and then you’re able to bring on substitutes at the end fresh legs we we spoke about verer son their Pace you know in the last 15 minutes of the game proved to be crucial as well so manager got it spot on this today spot on with his um with his team selection his substitutes everything great day yeah really really was for spur sadly not for City let’s just see what that does then to the Premier League table we can bring this up here so um obviously now that puts us just a point ahead of Arsenal chelse in the same amount of games Liverpool Gap there now at Five Points still to play I think they play tomorrow they were to win Michael all of a sudden that puts them on 31 points and that’s an eight-point Gap is that it’s coming around qu it’s quick isn’t it it’s next Sunday yeah so there you go that’s there’s there’s no better incentive is there you go right off to off to anfield massive game and now because of the results you got to go and win that yeah and then it’s it’s all it’s all it’s all back on it’s close again you know it’s that’s that’s where it’s at this this this is obviously the city Fanning but do do you think that team can go and be off that and over these this I can’t these players are unbelievable what they’ve delivered for such a long period of time so I I I it is what it is you know we are we are I’m not criticizing these two these two much they’ve been at it year after year week after week everybody and it happens this is football this is why we love football the highs and lows you have to deal with it you know mentally um and and you bring the game on these players will say let’s go let’s have a go at it but they have they have a game in midweek did they and that’s going to be an important game as well yeah can they a win just to get that field back again going to anfield when you’re a little bit fragile to go to anfield is is going to be difficult so you know get a win on on Wednesday is it Tuesday they they play um Tuesday is going to be important to set up the anfield isit well we’re going to be with you for that as well we of course taking on feord at home um obviously we’re in this new format of the Champions League you’ve got to say as well because it is so tight ideally looking at you know fixtures like and they’re all you know very good teams but to come this one against fard key and we’ll probably see changes do you think from there’s going to be a few changes I think there’s time to recover the way that the format’s there isn’t there to go you want to finish in that top eight I yeah for certain that’s that’s that’s your game and looking back now in the sporting game would you have sort of gone well we maybe should have done a couple of players like we’re looking at all the way and saying you know we could rest that player we could change this we go the weekend I think what we know with this manager is he plays the game right in front of him and he goes right there’s enough recovery we’ve got Sunday so it’s an extra day I think that certainly helps going into that game so it gives him a little bit more Choice than if you were playing Wednesday I think that’s that’s Wednesday Saturday I think that’s so important with Tuesday Sunday so know I think there’s time to recover and and for the for the players and I know Michael kind of asked you this before LLY but you know you’ll know as well you’ve been in dressing rooms you know Captain leader I think Ali Ali man said on commentary in shakan s era we’ve not lost five in a row what do the squad of players do now what is the type of conversations is it just head down or what do you think there might even be a a team talk among players you know how do you grab a hold of the situation I guess yeah well I think I think the first thing is you have to look at why are you losing these games why we con why is a team conceding these goals and try to trying to find the reasons of why why that’s happening as a group as I said it’s it’s really hard work and and and and probably watching video uh maybe pep needs to change a few things we spoke about a very high line that city were playing with today and maybe is that something they’ve been doing all season this season well have changed it a lot because you have to find something new the manager has to find a different way because teams are always looking to try and take something from cities who’s creative see Midfield players going to wider positions and and shapes one one thing for certain I think um set up how you approach games is important if it works for you um I think that’s always I think I think there’s no manager better at it than than pep regards to evolving and changing changing ways so they’ll say something different that that’s not suiting us at this moment that we might just need to to adapt um but listen the team behind Pep is amazing if you look at the stats they probably created or had quite a lot of shot they say they St early on and they say yeah we’re getting into positions you know so that’s what he’s he want as a manager you’re setting the team up to get into the positions you know he can’t score the goals for them so you know going forward they’re not doing too much wrong yeah as as I said but they’re not they’re not putting the ball in the back of the net and that’s been the problem and it’s those fine margins and if and if we’re also talking about it’s not excusing it at all but Peppa spoke about we have had a depleted Squad the injury crisis list has been you know that’s created that’s created this yes that’s what that’s where it’s come from let’s let’s get it right and and I guess seeing as you said Michael though Kevin coming on for 20 minutes we see Jack coming back on like to think hopefully maybe Reuben is going to come back to full fitness these are all you know players that have been so integral to the success of Manchester City getting them back in the squad as well is obviously going to be vitally important it is I mean you you we talked about before that if the bruy is on that team Sheet anfield they straight away go oh yeah you know but we can’t break Kevin De bruyne if he’s not ready they’re very much aware of that so there is a reason why he’s not getting more minut because he’s just not ready yet you definitely wanted to put him in the team wherever you possibly can um I I just think as many B minutes um is important momentum pep talks a lot about that um this team are Relentless come to turn the air they’ll they’ll they’ll get going you know they will um and and it’s just really strange times to have such a bad run and you know the team are not recovering no they”re been away internationally as well um so I thought it was a good game I I thought I felt City would have wanted you can’t you can’t write them off you can’t write City off never you no no not at all plenty of plenty of games left and if we said the anfield game is is a huge one that will tell us a lot but even even after that you know this team’s proven that um they’re winners and uh until the last kick of the Season you know you can’t write them off so bad day at the office today for City but um you know they’re too good a team to to kind of dwell on that you know it’s going to change soon going to change soon love that and and as we say if you’re going to do it in games Michael they are they are big teams are facing but if if you go out and and get results a big marker we’ve got man united coming up Liverpool Villa Palace away Fay order uve as well in the Champions League all of a sudden you start building the momentum there very quickly the conversation just that’s it this is the Premier League this is the top end of being Champions being winners um the games just keep goinging and you’ve got to find a solution the squad of um are obviously quality players um and they’re just not getting it right at this moment in time so um let Bring it on Bring the next one on and start the recovery indeed lovely stuff listen always makes me
