[Music] and we go to New Year’s Eve we uh we moved to Tampa for this one the relia quest Bowl rematch of last year’s Rose Bowl semi-final between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Michigan Wolverines this one at noon Eastern on ESPN uh Alabama currently favored by 11 in this Michigan plus 295 on the money line we’ve got a total of 43 A2 on this which means an implied score around 27-6 in favor of the tide Alabama has only played in two non-playoff bowl games since 2014 they won both by an average of 23 points uh Michigan made the last three playoffs uh won the national title last year but they lost six straight postseason games prior to beating Alabama last year and that included four straight losses to SEC teams Kyle let’s start with you Michigan obviously coming off that massive win at Ohio State now it looks like a lot of their def defensive front is going to be in Street Clos for this one Alabama missing safety Malachi Moore along with a lot of backups the majority of starters are playing for the tide in this uh it’s a Revenge spot for Alabama for the playoff loss last season and tell me what you’ve got for this one yeah I mean Michigan that was their strength was the defensive front and if they lose that strength then Michigan doesn’t have the kind of offense to uh win games uh by scoring a lot of points I think they they need this game to be lows scoring to have a chance um level end out also so you know Johnson still out at corner I think Michigan’s secondary is still their weakness Ohio State didn’t take advantage of that because of the the uh play calling there but I think that Alabama will I think they’re going to hit some big plays in the passing game here um Gary probably knows this better than I do but it sounds like Bama expects most of their stars to play here and I think they’re pretty motivated it sounds like a team that that is looking looking forward to this game they’re 10th in yards per play margin Michigan’s 80 first Michigan definitely played better late in the season uh but they still really lack explosiveness 127th and explosiveness on offense that they better have this game be really lowc scoring Alabama I think they are going to take those shots down the field Michigan just won their Super Bowl that was their big game a bunch of opt outs I don’t know that Michigan’s highly motivated for this game because that last game was the one that they really wanted um is Alabama I think Alabama would would like to get some revenge in this game I definitely lean Alabama minus the points here it’s just 11 is a lot of points with this low of a total so it makes me think twice I definitely lean Bama I might even put some uh pizza money on B in this one but uh I’ll just leave it as a strong lean here if uh if you’re going to put money on it you better do it quick uh it’s up to 13 pretty much everywhere there’s a couple of 13 and a halfs out there so I don’t know if we just had somebody opt out that I haven’t seen yet but it’s moving so yeah uh Parker let’s let’s talk to you about this one the intangibles are just all over the place here both of these teams top 30 and special teams Michigan is number 90 and turnover margin B’s number 17 uh penalty yards per game Bama number 126 Michigan is number 15 man that Michigan offense though like tell me tell me what you’re expecting in Tampa yeah one I um don’t expect all the Alabama players to play like whatever they’re saying I won’t believe it until they’re they’re on the field I I think I’m a little worried about that uh certainly here but looking at Michigan’s offense you know they they leveled out to about 46 in EPA per play they could run the ball decently by the end of the year you know at the beginning it was a little bit flighty on both sides but we knew they were never going to pass 32 in EPA per Rush uh they were bolstered a little a little bit a lot a bit by uh third and fourth down success with that run game they’re 23rd and and third and fourth down success but 119th on early Downs EPA for uh for Michigan’s offense so when the field is open and just not much is happening I don’t think that’s a great spot to be in against Kane wack in this Alabama defense regardless of if it’s you know the starters or the five star backups I just don’t know that that’s super sustainable here if you know Michigan really seems only poised to be able to uh just you know get get into a rock fight and uh and kind of win the physicality match Alabama has two things going for it one Ryan Williams um and just being able to get on the outside and and match up one-on-one with anybody downfield two if midd Ro plays you’ve got plus one in the Run game that’s that’s not something that you know Michigan uh can super account for especially if we looked at like their moments against big teams Texas and and Ohio State it’s not like either of those teams are going to be able to do plus run in the run run game uh where we’ve seen Alabama’s struggle this season has really been you know the defensive lines putting pressure on milro and kind of compounding his mistakes uh Michigan with the opt outs up front seems like that’s a reduced unit is not going to look great as well I had this as about 11 was leaning towards that obviously the movement makes me feel good that I didn’t lock that in before um because I’d certainly rather have uh you know you you get a little closing value there but I I don’t know that Alabama’s players are going to play or show up I’m just not I’m not making a comment one way or the other there I just don’t believe it I do think Alabama should absolutely run over them uh all else constant um Michigan’s offense not anywhere near creative enough to do something to Alabama uh stick them you know I don’t think Alabama players are going to be out on Broadway the night before this game uh like they were earlier the season so I I don’t know that Michigan’s offense is going to be able to do enough here at all yeah okay I can get with this uh if if Michigan’s defensive front does not play it could get ugly right Graham’s out uh Leland out you know that’s their do everything guy he’s opting out uh you know if Kenneth Grant plays if Josiah Stewart plays if I mean they’re talking about khil mullings probably not playing like there’s that’s a lot of production that could be missing for Michigan uh this number could absolutely sore past 14 uh we don’t have an official play on it but man that I cannot find uh anything I don’t know why this thing’s moving uh something has happened though I’ll tell you that so it it’s getting up there um so no official plays on this one [Music] oh [Music]
