posted a kind of a throwback Thursday the other day to when you guys first uh got here your first time walking around fome and kind checking out the stadium and kind of looking around envisioning yourself doing things like this two years here of being here and putting up memories like that how much fun has it been playing in fome and and you know kind of second part to that being able to cap it with a game like that I’ve been extremely fun for me I’m not even really thinking about it right now like that’s how that that’s that’s the only con you have when just being focused in life and when you focus on a goal is you’re not able to enjoy those that other people are able to enjoy so uh it hasn’t really registered with me yet because I don’t even want to think about that type of stuff right now even just the last year you know playing with my brothers shot tra and Dion JR so I ain’t I I haven’t that hasn’t settled in for me personally yet so uh I don’t even want to get in that mental space right now yet because I just want to enjoy uh everything great we have going on here hey sure Tyler King with the Denver Gazette you won the Johnny Unitus award that was announced before the game I wasn’t sure if you had found that out until after the game but just being yesterday okay and then kind of backing it up today with the performance you had what what that kind of mean to you I mean you had five touchdowns over 400 yards what was that like just kind of be in the Rhythm you were today it was kind of similar uh we came in this year putting up similar numbers to that game so we had to leave out doing the same thing um I just enjoyed playing in front of the crowd somebody text me said they drove all the way from I don’t know where to come see to come see his play and that really it really meant a lot to me because people spent their hard earned money and their time just to go out there and see us play and sometimes we just go out there go through the motions and things like that so that kind of that that’s something that stuck with me a lot is uh that efforts everybody even in this room has traveling here getting dis prepared all just to come watch us play so I’m truly thankful for that and uh I wanted to display how thankful I was today you you’ve said that Travis deserves the Heisman Trophy if this is his last game before the voting what what type of closing argument do you think he he made out there today for people there’s no there’s no argument at this point how many touchdowns he had three he had three receiving touchdowns interception he went for another 100 yards Vante went for 100 yards almost 200 that’s a lot and that’s crazy the consistency um that he has I feel like that’s what the award is about and of course uh the other contenders in there is having consisteny also but I I just hate whenever you got to knock down other players for your guy to win you know I don’t like that because I respect what uh Ashton jens’s doing at um Boise State cuz he he’s doing doing an amazing job and I just hate you know talking down or any thing like that on somebody else accomplishments also so I feel like I wish everybody could win but that’s not what it is just getting invited there that’s a win for sure because how many players going to this off season doing the same regimen work out everything it’s just what difference are you going to make when uh the lights cut on and Travis proved that week after week throughout injuries and throughout everything he’s the life of our team to there we go um first and foremost Happy Blessed um Thanksgiving to all that I didn’t get a chance to say that too Thanksgiving is not just about turkey and dressing and all of that just about being thankful for what we are who we are and how we are we none of us are who we want to be but we sure ain’t what we used to be true uh we are uh work in session right now God is not through with any of us thank God but we on our way and we’re heading in the right direction now let me transition to this team headed in the right direction that was a phenomenal finish defensively that’s indicative of who we are and how we play the game of football um both coordinators man Rob and Patman my God these guys are so darn good I know you guys question them multitude of things uh from them but they’re so good and they’ve been so consistent through the year they’ve exceeded all expectations we’ve exceeded all expectations and I’m really happy where we are we we certainly wanted to take that one extra step last week and we fell short but look how we rebounded look look how we wiped our tears and got back up got on the horse and gidy up and I’m proud of uh our young man God we had toote and I want you to really blow this up we had three young men today Travis Hunter uh Rock uh Isaiah Harge rocket uh Brown and Isaiah har three guys play both ways today how many times have you seen that in college football so that is phenomenal and uh Harge did his dog on thing on special teams as well which is phenomenal I think Travis clinch the Heisman um thank you God for stopping me cuz almost said something I than Travis clinch to Heisman with his performance um I think he made a lot of people aware of how ignorant that was with the Thorp his performance today what he had three touchdowns 100 yards uh and an interception and two pass passes broken up should have had another pick hit him right in the DAR chest I’m not happy about that but I’m happy with him but it’s it’s it’s phenomenal I think shador proved that he should be right beside him um what he had today 34 441 oh my God 4385 wow wow Le jante did the dog on thing today uh will shoot U our our receivers are tremendous special teams were great I think Ma kicked his first field goal in several weeks we not giving him an opportunity I think was he one away from a record yeah so he he got his 10th straight which tied the to you record oh wow so it’ll be okay if he he does it in the bowl game right yeah so that that count y oh thank you Jesus so that’s great um posing team we played uh we were not afraid but just understanding that when a team comes here and uh you know they know they’re not going to a bold they’re going to come at us hard until you force them not to go hard anymore and I’m I’m I’m thinking that’s what transpired um I adore that coach he has some phenomenal words of uh encouragement after the game um he’s a pillar of uh consistency in uh the the Big 12 I only think he’s had two losing seasons in his whole career that’s a that is UND darn believable uh I wish I could just touch the hym of His Garment um biblically speaking but I’m uh I’m proud of where we are and what we accomplish I really am so you know so you want to ask me these crazy questions I’m not one to go home and watch TV and wish somebody loses so we could go to uh the bow game I don’t get down like that I don’t know what I’m going to do today I may go to Veil or bre and Ridge and get on uh snowmobiles or whatever I don’t know what I’m gonna do it’s a lot of time on my hands um so I don’t you guys got any of the ideas let me know but I’m so we just had a wonderful time with the seniors and just seeing that as well as uh it didn’t hit me to the end of the game that that was the last time here that me shador and Shiloh and Bucky uh will enjoy that that moment with the four of us together don’t forget Jor he he is it he he is he is the man he makes it all go but that was a wonderful moment I wanted this to get together and take a picture of the conclusion of the game which we did and thank thank you all that captured it I appreciate it let’s go no no your coverage units have been playing with an edge and they ain’t got no a’t got a they G to have to the ball is coming out yeah you been proud of that that aspect of your team we’ve handled that we’ve handled that we will have touchbacks next year I promise you that hey coach how you told you I’m needed and I know um the situations my father is my stepfather and my biological father were in and I know what I wanted as a young man so I take that very seriously and and every move I’ve made in life has been based on my kids so I don’t make a move without thinking about them first it’s never about me first cuz I’m going to make it because I know God got me but I need to get them and make sure they straight so that’s how I calculated many moves I’ve made through through life they thought it was about me no it was about my kids now they seeing how it’s playing out yeah we got a couple everybody Colorado 21 points in the first quarter 17 in the third quarter 14 in the fourth currently up 52 nothing with three minutes to go and everybody Travis Hunter Travis Hunter pretty much wrapped up this heightman trophy race today with the with the game that he had Travis Hunter just insan scen on the offensive side of the football 10 receptions 116 yards three receiving touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball on the defensive side of the ball Hunter was just as great had an interception on defense multiple pass breakups jador Sanders best season ever for a Colorado Buffalo’s quarterback after today’s outing he was 34 of 41 438 yards five passing touchdowns an interception this game was just so noncompetitive everybody it’s hard to believe how non competitive this game was but everybody Colorado did their job today winning it home on Black Friday for the final home game for the college careers of shador Sanders his brother Shiloh Sanders and Travis Hunter Colorado getting to nine wins they are at 9 and three so they have held up their end of the bargain for the Big 12 championship game next week and now that is left on the docket is tomorrow there are multiple different scenarios where Colorado can get get back into the Big 12 title game but this is the clearest one BYU Arizona State Iowa State if two of those teams lose Colorado will be playing next Saturday even if even if the ball doesn’t roll in their favor tomorrow what a season by Colorado Dion Sanders year two with this program the year prior to Sanders being hired Colorado was 1 in 11 last season year one 4 and eight massive step forward this year nine wins and you know that every single college football bowl game that isn’t associated with the playoff is going to be lining up stepping over each other and doing whatever it takes to get Colorado to their bowl game cuz the eyeballs and the dollars will be funneling in but everybody we will be with you for our coverage of post game for
