passing game obviously had a really good game uh this past week and we’ve seen it kind of take off a little bit but what what kind of challenges do Ohio State secondary uh as and obviously the front as well present the offense yeah they’re as good as any defense in the country you know I Feel Complete defense got great skill got great talent um do a good job with the scheme something we’re familiar with we studied we watched and um you know they’re really good team so we just we have to go execute at a high level to go win down the left with John what it like running out on the field when you’re playing down there and how do you prepare your guys to embrace the welcome yeah we’ll uh we’ll have those conversations internally as a group how we’ll we’ll do that but obviously crowd noise in practice and doing those things and I think our guys love those environments um so you know we’ll we’ll definitely increase the crowd noise and and you put it in the indoor that uh gets pretty loud but we’ll definitely have to we the elements and create some noise and uh distractions outside too to make sure we understand what the weather is going to be like go over on the right to Larry recruiting uh is such a big deal obviously in this job um signing day week away how important still is high school recruiting and how do you balance the portal and high school recruits it’s very important you know you want to cut your teeth on the high school players and grooming those but you’ve got to supplement and do the things you need to in the portal so um you know we’re going to focus on on both you know we have plans for both and we’ll continue to do that that but obviously we’re continuing to try to bring in the best players we can that fit us and and fit the systems and and fit this culture here James how would you describe the emotional tax that comes with playing in this rivalry uh I mean I don’t know about an emotional tax it’s fun it’s it’s everything you want to be when you grow up as a as a kid whether you want to be a coach whether you want to be a player this is what you want to do you want to be in these types of games so um it’s awesome to be a part of um you know it’s a lot of work it’s something you think about all year and uh you know it’s it’s exciting time for us to be in how much you how much your confidence um in this game is derived from trench Play It’s the name of your guys’ program for a long time that’s that’s part of the part of the equation that was carried over this year yeah I think the biggest piece of this game is it’s the rushing battle and I think you’ve seen that every year is the team that wins the rushing battle wins the game so I know they we focused on the same thing so that’s got to be an emphasis for us to do Tony yeah TR I think a lot of people kind of forget in 2022 I think you guys were also underdogs and went down there and certainly handled business guess how much well that specifically doesn’t matter how much does that mentality matter going into this type of game uh I mean I don’t think that none of that matters in this game it’s doesn’t matter the records doesn’t matter anything to spread that doesn’t matter it’s all about the game so we got to go execute we got to go handle what we have to handle to go win behind him Charles yeah with the defensive front being kind of the strength of your defense and then their offensive line being relatively depleted with the injuries you mentioned the running game being an emphasis how can you win that battle yeah we got to do our jobs up front you know obviously our guys played really well last game I thought they played with you know great technique great fundamentals great eyes discipline so they got to do that this this game and uh do it even higher level so uh they’ll be prepared the guys been in uh since the game broke uh watching film and doing those things as they are every week so really excited about that match up and what did you see from those guys question it seemed like TJ and Josiah everybody was getting off on the edge and then in the middle too they had a big impact yeah those guys just I mean they played really well uh played really well together played as a unit you know you saw those guys really come together more uh with six sacks in that game I think TJ had one Josiah had two kg had one mace I mean so like those guys played really well together and I was good to see going right here Austin sh any updates on colon or will do you antip uh yeah we’ll see uh I think you know coulson’s training in a good direction we we’ll get a better feel in the next couple days and same thing we will we’ll in the back right there Aaron SE you’ve been on both ends of the spectrum State game wins and losses you found the singular message that work the team going this week uh I think every team’s different you know every every team’s different every messageer is going to be different so obviously you’ve been on the the loss side and and been on the wins and the the thing that you know is similar for the wins are is the the preparation and that’s really what’s going to come down to how we prepare mentally physically and emotionally for the game because there’s going to be ups and downs adversity in the game so we got to prepare for that make sure we’re ready for that as as players and coaches is this a week where some of the veterans who have had big big moments in games like Donovan Coulson have to talk to the team about it or I guess what’s what’s the I mean I think uh there there will be times we always do you know we have at some point leaders of the team talk to the team about different things so um those will come up at some point but that really happens organically
