he’s done it one chance one goal Southampton well it’s further misery for them as well mad has helped along with a few other players for Tottenham as they inflicted a 5-nil victory over Southampton piling further pressure on Russell Mountain Russell Martin and those Southampton players and I was going to say it is a mountain to climb if they can come back from it him at all who Southampton yeah it seems like a big big ass move on there’s zero chance but when you say move on do you think that Z maybe maybe they will change the manager to give themselves a bit of a chance I don’t think I think if joggen klopp rolled himself into one with pep Gua they are not keeping Southampton up it’s as simple as that and it don’t matter who manages Southampton their group of players are not strong enough they’re the best group of players in the in the championship but it’s a completely different um environment the Premier League is unforgiving and they found it so easy what a start they had though Tottenham after 30 seconds Madison with that finish and he’s involved again from the right hand side and son just comes into the back postcast keeps his eyes on this one and smashes it past the goalkeeper that’s a lovely finish low touch finish again Madison picking the ball up from Deep was just spraying it there’s so much space for Tottenham just to spray and ping the ball and no Southampton players are ever connected they cannot help each other out kesi is not going to miss from there and again the wide areas big problems but again look at the side Frampton defense who’s helping each other out where’s the responsibility numbers and you’re just running through the heart of the defense and there’s the fans they were gone I mean you you that’s 20 minutes 25 minutes 4 n as well fans leaving there and and he missed Russell Martin went in for the halftime team T and he missed this one I mean it’s brilliant little chop there from from Madison and a brilliant finish but I mean I think that says it all yeah because many thought well of course he’s got them promoted there is that story there’s that history but of course the fans have very vocal showing how they feel having left at 4-0 so it feels feel for because he wants he wants to play a certain style but I don’t care how you want to play if you haven’t got the players doesn’t matter if you go back to front he wants to play a more you know attractive style he wants to play out they they shoot themselves in the foot they give a lot of goals away but even if they went back to front they haven’t got the Personnel to be able to stay in the Premier League let’s face it but the fact is he’s been beat heavily at home today the fans are voting on their feet they’re leaving the ground no nice very early and that sort of spells danger for for the manager and unfortunately we might lose another manager out of the Premier League today because they have to change something they can’t just sit on their hands and you can’t change the players as an owner no you can’t you have to just hope and try and do something because the fans are looking at them saying well do something you know it’s not it’s not happening what do you think he’s going all of a sudden find a magic one for Christmas and then come in and just go like that all over all of his players and they turn into well beaters it ain’t going to happen it ain’t going to happen so you have to do something as an owner and you have to make a change unfortunately for Russell Martin I like I like that he wants to stick to his guns it’s not working and play that that style but it’s not working and no style works well now’s a good time to actually hear from him here’s his postmatch reaction there were a few signs in the crowd that were directed towards you RM get out of our club I did see with my own eyes what’s your take on that uh this is football this is the modern world this is the world we live in the fans have been great since we’ve been here from day one so I uh can’t really take much else from it but you’re not too concerned about your position I think every manager has concerned about the position every single day is a very precarious job in whatever League you are in so uh I’m not going to pretend and sit here after losing 5- nil bottom of the table I’m feeling really secure and confident in my job but I will do it to the very best of my ability until I am told otherwise 36 goals conceded in 16 games Karen it looks like it’s only going in one direction for Southampton yeah and look even talking about football and and tactics and goals you mentioned there the owners at the end of the day fans are leaving it’s a business as it’s a business decision as well that you need to have people coming and watching and they’re consumers so if they’re not coming back or they’re leaving after 25 minutes that’s a big problem in itself so look it’s you know you know 4-0 down after 25 minutes that says it all and to lose 5- nil and he mentioned it there he he understands what he’s up against um and I have to agree with Tim we might see two English managers go but you know he Tim’s right though it’s just to play that where your players aren’t good enough and they’re not and I think that’s that’s the harsh reality should he have said at the start of the Season I’m going to play this way maybe I shouldn’t be your guy I don’t know but um you know maybe someone else should have come in and played a different way to try and keep him in the Premier League who knows but it’s it’s too much for them now and quite often we see at the bottom of the table when there are managerial changes are Gary O’Neil going earlier today of course Leicester city got rid of Steve Cooper a couple of weeks ago brought rude vanoy in we’ve seen a bit of a bounce from them although I know they lost at the weekend but they’re above the drop zone at least it might spark some change there yeah well they see they see what’s happened to Gary yeah and like you say we’ve we’ve rude thisw going in there not that it’s changed the fortunes uh too much he’s given a little bit of a balce they got obviously heavily defeated yesterday but the owners will feel like they might need to do something you know they they can’t be just sitting there doing nothing because it looks like it’s not going to improve um and they owe it to the fans to try and do something but like I say I’m not sure anyone’s capable of coming in I mean everyone wants to manage in the Premier League you take a brave man to go on and take that job at the moment you know cuzz the objective will be can you keep us in the league someone would go in there and and talk rubbish to the to the owners and the football people and say I’ll keep you up you got a wonderful Squad of players I I will play a style which is a contrast to Russell Martin we will score goals and be nice and solid at the back it tell them all they want to hear and then when the inks dry it’ be the same old story to get beat every week I feel like Tim Sherwood should give it a shot well if I wanted to not tell the truth I could get that job let’s talk talk about your um you’ve been on top four today you have the on liners are just brilliant talk to me about your former Club Tottenham because they’re feeling obviously the pressure at the moment but how much relief will that have well great that someone wants to talk to me when they actually win you know cuz normally you sit here and say can you criticize a manager which I would never do I always stick up for him sometimes he’s not helping me but he helped me out today because they’ve absolute it they had to make the most of the CH they had to Wi today but it was a lot of pressure on them cuz I people were talking about perhaps they might Kickstart South Southampton season wow you know because they’ve done that to a lot of other teams Tottenham beat anyone on their day but unfortunately they can lose to anyone but today they were never ever going to lose that football mat a PR positive way your team started yeah look um really um yeah really PR proud of the players um obviously you know we had a tough away European fixure on Thursday night we had 10 first team players unavailable for a number of reasons today so had of a scored to 25 you do the sums and we asked you know a lot of them to again go out there and sort of dig into their Wells of energy that and uh and a couple we put out there who haven’t played for ages so um haven’t started game so the fact the boys could play with such energy and quality um is just outstanding and uh yeah um really pleased that they um they get the rewards for it because they uh they deserve it three four tonight Lucas and general yeah great um yeah Lucas he’s growing all the time but he’s you know he’s 18 Archie’s 18 you know how many Premier League clubs going to start with to 18 year olds in their starting lineup um and jets had to bite his time you know to be fair it’s the one area of the pitch where we we’ve had cover this year with ar playing a right back so he’s he’s had to be patient but that’s a testament to him and the coaches who have kept working with him training that he could come on today we needed him for sure but not just to play but to make an impact and he did and um again great reward for his uh you know patience and and perseverance and you you said on Friday you wanted the senior players the players stand up that believe yeah they were brilliant you know I think they sense that they needed to tonight um I said we’re we’re we’re just spread so thin that you know we’re ask young players and players who you know haven’t played a lot and others who are playing all the time to to go out there and still try and play to our identity still try and play the football we want to and I thought they were both a catalyst for that tonight with both their football but also their mindset of you know um just going out there we had to we had to start strong today we con of knew we’d probably run out of out of gas at the end of the game considering the lineup we had out there and and was coming off Europe on Thursday night so um I think they the players sense that and um yeah credit to them that they started the game that [Music] way experience that moment yeah look again it’s you I’m trying to separate me and my feelings from what we’re trying to do here and um you know they’re obviously I said after the with game you know the ones that travel are pretty obviously very hardcore they they support this club and you know they were disappointed with with that but you know they made the trip tonight and I think they would have enjoyed uh particularly the first 45 they didn’t get to see many goals close up in the second half unfortunately but um look I I still you know I said on Friday nothing’s changed in me I still have this I still have the same resolve and determination to to make sure that we become the football club and football team we want to be and um but tonight was about the players really they they I just thought their efforts were unbelievable yeah we see how he is um he felt a bit tight and he quad to be fair he wanted to continue but we just we just can’t take any risks at the moment so we kind of took him off so was sunny and um so hopefully I don’t think it’s anything significant at this stage so um more precaution so you got a huge game in the quarterfinal of the carabel cup on Thursday because fans and an polu he’s already stated he always wins in his second year this is the best opportunity to to win the caraba they play Man United is going to be a huge game for him yeah I mean Tottenham have had to deal with their fair share of injuries as well haven’t they this season I think nine players out two of them were suspended today it’s a lot to deal with it is the center backs is obviously an issue with Romero going off and vanen you know in the last game and went off early and I think that actually had a huge effect in the Chelsea game I think that was a massive impact on them um but look he has to he has to figure it out and I think some times because of the center backs the way he plays how he defends I think sometimes that can cause some of the injuries so like like like Tim said you know he was under more Andre P Cog was under more pressure today than Russell Martin going into this game because he knew he had to win and they’ve done that bang but the next test is they need a trophy and he is still still under under pressure the manager so he’s he’s got to win that next game he’s got some difficult ones ahead of him as well a
