okay so uh are you ready for some Premier League always all right fantastic yeah so today we are diving into this Southampton versus Tottenham match yes and uh looking at your notes Here things are looking pretty interesting to say the least yeah you know what’s really fascinating here is the difference you know in form and just kind of where these two teams are at yeah you’ve got Tottenham who on paper should just dominate this m match but at the same time they’ve just been so inconsistent this season and you never really know what Tottenham team is going to show up and then on the flip side you’ve got Southampton who are just fighting for their Premier League survival yeah I mean it’s literally a relegation battle every single week for them yeah and it’s not even a battle at this point they’re pretty deep in it yeah they’re they’re right there at the bottom they are in a historically bad spot I mean we’re talking like the worst teams in premier league history it’s like historically bad for Southampton right now yeah so I mean it’s it’s not just about you know three points right in this match it’s about narratives and you know the weight of history I mean for Southampton it’s like can they even stay in the Premier League yeah I think I think just to kind of set the scene here yeah like you said they are in a historically bad spot right I mean only four times in premier league history has a team had five or fewer points after 15 matches yeah I mean just to put that in perspective that’s like less than a point a game yeah they’re averaging like I think less than a goal a game as well yeah you’ve got a league low 11 goals scored yeah 11 goals which is just 15 matches that is abysmal awful yeah and then on the other end they’ve conceded the second most with 31 yeah I mean defensively they’re a mess yeah so I mean just looking at those stats alone it’s like how are they going to get a result in this match yeah I mean is there any hope well you know what’s interesting they have at least scored in their last five home matches okay so you know at least they’re showing some signs of Life offensively at St Mary’s and they’ve actually scored in their last 15 matches against Tottenham at St Mary’s okay so they’ve got that going for them so that that’s a glimmer of hope for them a little glimmer of hope right I mean can you imagine like being a Southampton player right now oh my gosh like the pressure the pressure must be immense to perform yeah and to like keep this team up yeah it’s got to be so much pressure on those guys yeah I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes I would not want to be in their shoes at all at all but then you’ve got Tottenham on the other side and you know right like we said they’ve got the Firepower yeah they’ve hit three or more goals in seven matches this season yeah I mean that’s more than any other team in the league yeah more than anyone else which is crazy to think about yeah because then you see some of their results and it’s like what happened well I mean look at the Manchester United match 3-0 yeah I mean that’s a statement win right yeah dominated that that game Manchester City 4-nil yeah I mean another statement that’s incredible right those are huge results right but then they lose to Lester right they draw with Crystal Palace yeah you know yeah so it’s just like how do you explain Jackal and Hyde right you know just so inconsistent two completely different teams and they have the joint worst points Hall in like 16 years for Tottenham yeah I mean this is not where they expect to be no at all so it’s got to be a little concerning for their fans oh for sure you know especially with their defensive woses yeah I mean that’s been the biggest issue for them yeah what is it about their defense though is it is it Personnel so from the notes you’ve got here it seems like a tactical issue okay potentially they’re trying to play this really high pressing style okay which is great you know when they win the ball high they’re super dangerous going forward yeah but it does leave them vulnerable to the Counterattack okay and teams that can absorb that pressure and then hit them on the break are having a lot of success oh so that explains the Lester and the Crystal Palace result exactly okay and you know that makes a lot more sense you look at the goals they’ve conceded yeah a lot of them have been on the Counterattack oh okay so that’s a great point it’s definitely a tactical vulnerability that teams have figured out so you’ve got Tottenham who are brilliant in attack but then just a liability at the back yeah it’s like two compl completely different teams almost like are they going to be Dr jaal or Mr Hyde on Match Day right who’s going to show up that’s the question right yeah and you know looking historically Tottenham has actually been pretty good yeah against bottom table teams they haven’t lost to a team starting the day at the bottom of the table since 2018 wow so they tend to do well against these struggling teams okay but their away form this season has been a bit shaky okay so that kind of throws a wrench into things so does that kind of level the playing field a little bit you think it could I mean away games are always tricky you know especially against a team that’s desperate for points yeah like Southampton right I mean and then you throw in some of the individual narratives going on you know Ben Bron Diaz for Southampton yeah he’s on the verge of equaling the record for most premier league appearances without a win oh man it’s at 25 right now talk about pressure that’s got to be tough oh my gosh yeah can you imagine like 25 matches in a row every week you go out there and you just haven’t won and you haven’t tasted victory yeah mentally that’s that’s going to be hard that must be so tough yeah and then on the flip side you’ve got dejon kulisy for potam oh yeah he could actually make his 100th Premier League appearance in this game oh wow that’s a big milestone yeah so a nice little Personal Achievement for him yeah amidst all the team turmoil amidst all the chaos right and then just to highlight tottenham’s inconsistency even further okay they’ve only won three okay of the seven games where they scored first this season oh really so even when they take the lead yeah they haven’t been able to hold on to it wow consistently so they’ve got issues with closing out games yeah big time so I mean this is this is setting up to be a really intriguing match it is I mean you’ve got a team in Southampton that is desperate for a result desperate you know they need these points and then you’ve got Tottenham who could be brilliant could be brilliant but also also could completely self-destruct yeah we don’t know yeah and so it’s just like what’s going to happen when these two teams meet yeah this match is about so much more than just you know who wins and who loses I mean you’ve got southampton’s fight for survival tottenham’s quest for you know some consistency and just the Tactical battle that’s going to take place between these two managers yeah it’s going to be really interesting to see how how this one plays out absolutely yeah so I mean I think everyone’s on the edge of their seat I am waiting to see what happens in this one and yeah you know something to think about here you know is is how much will that psychology play into this oh yeah right sure Southampton knowing that Tottenham you know they they haven’t lost to a bottom table team since 2018 right you know and Tottenham know knowing that you know Southampton are desperate for points and they’re going to be fighting for every ball yeah Will Southampton use that pressure to their advantage or will Tottenham kind of rise above it yeah will they rise to the occasion right big questions this is going to be a good one yeah I think this is one you don’t want to miss so yeah tune in for sure
