[Applause] teams welcome to day four of the 2016 World Cup of Hockey and it is a rivalry to kick things off team Sweden up against team Finland and Sweden with one win and no losses go with Henrik lfish in goal he was expected to start their first game but he was Ill on Sunday he is back and he is one of the top Calenders in the National Hockey League of former top goal tender in 1112 and taras also has won the VZ a trophy as the NHL’s top goalie he didn’t start game one for Finland either a 4-1 loss a late goal by valter Phila was all Finland was able to manage in that one I’m RJ bride H along with Greg Miller and this is an important one for Finland they talked about this is it if they want to make it to the semi-final they have to beat their Arch Rivals they’re the home team in this just once team North America scored on that one power play Sweden was one for three in their first game against Russia terrific defense for Sweden on this power play with Oliver emman Larsson and Eric Carlson that’s sechman Larson WPS it around to the Swedish Captain Henrik CID down low to Daniel City back to Henrik at the Blue Line Eric Carlson takes a shot blocked in front of the net and Fin’s able to clear Eric Carlson at all defenseman in scoring in the NHL last year in fact he’s done it the last three seasons in four of the past five that comes outside and that will do it for Sweden’s power play they had one shot on goal Patrick hornest now it’s Backstrom arov right there with him Gabriel Landis at the blue line stman over to headman Tri the bank it in front of the net but taras Henrik list Victor Hond he led the Tampa Bay Lightning and defenseman scoring and there a big one in this world cup the game winner in their first game and he threw a big hit on Rasmus r goland takes another hit and he is a defenseman that will play a lot for Finland so that might be a target for Sweden and he has some offensive [Applause] ability Overman Larson soberg dumps it into the Finland in Sammy B almost pocket pick they kov Oh shot stopped by Lis rebound was there for a moment but nobody from Finland could get to it hman might be caught chase after this P the veteran juen and he knew the defenseman was up there on the rush and decided he better get back help to Theo com to get a Little Help from yoken in to get that out to Shanice at to silverberg slap shot kick to Side by Ras behind the net silverberg leaves it for Hagman Carlson hry shot deflected and there’s a good save from taras teams played it very tight so far in this first period ho Mattis he set it in now can Finland get to this P Sweden’s been able to keep them to the outside for the majority of the entrances into the Swedish air that’s gathered in by corosi spins can’t get it to the net L Tera he’s tied up by Henrik sadine there’s corosi again lot of work along the boards sine intercepts tomerson wraps it around and that will relieve some of that pressure for a moment but the face off’s coming keep their hopes alive rivalry day on day four at the World Cup of high Sweden sends it down the ice again and this won’t be icing what an effort by Soderberg and then he centered it just out of the for forsberg bankr trying to get open for forsberg who’s controlling the puck now EOL is going to have to get back this is a three-on-one for Finland hu lost the handle before he could shoot her pass it’s centered Buton and shot that is theat and that will come outside the line four on four is open things up a little bit that’s not like Kyu I mean he’s right in in a perfect scoring chance he over skated the puck [Applause] 5 Seconds To Go In the period matam might get one more shot he takes a hit just set the puck into Sweden’s Z and now it’s down to 40 minutes to decide which team is going to get the victory when these two Rivals have met up it’s one period in the book slung Fist and Rask perfect Carl 20 minutes in the books uh still scoreless out there how did you feel about your team’s first per uh it was okay uh I think they came out a little bit harder than us and they had more intensity but at the same time we weathered the storm and then we got some good shifts there at the end and you know Hank came up big for us what do you guys need to do in the second period to match their intensity level well we just got to figure it out get some more pucks deep and uh work them down there we know that’s uh that’s their Achilles if you look at their back end so if we can get it deep and have them spend a lot of time in their own Z Zone thanks your time Carl thank you this is the World Cup of hocky second game for both Finland and Sweden Finland lost to team North America and Sweden beat Russia and they were very happy with that performance although they had to hang on at the end against Russia for a 2-1 Victory but Gabriel landeskog was saying they kept to their game plan and didn’t let Russia create scoring chances used their Mobile Defense to get the puck out and that held true for the most part in the First Period against Finley and they better start to initiate are they’re going to find themselves all of a sudden down in this game and playing catchup finland’s been really coming on in international hockey too you go all the way back to the last World Cup they were the finalists lost to Canada World Championship they finished with a silver and this young man 19-year-old Sebastian AO was part of that group also won a World Junior AO and lion were also part of that team in fact finland’s won two of the last three World Junior gold medals so there’s plenty of young Talent on the way to line eight one of the stars of the future for Finland it’s his pocket pick that time Anton stman he’ll rip it around he saw that his teammate Gabriel landeskog was over there and R throws a hit and Landis skag a gritty Flair gives the T major a sha L likes to chirp a little bit on the ice that’s well known already and AO here’s this Inside Out move he’s got great speed can’t finish on a good play coming back defensively for Victor Hedman but AO is an interesting player the Carolina Hurricanes are really high on this young man they love his speed they love his skill level special team’s going to be a big factor you don’t want to take unnecessary penalties and let the opposition’s fire power go to work with the man advantage ramlin over to mik qu 12th International appearance going to enter his 12th NH HL season e right is that you could hear Eric Carlson calling for that pass Carlson played the most of any Swedish player in that opening period carlon’s leading the rush drops it out to Erikson Henrik sedine Carlson still down in front of the netland able to get the puck out but Carlson such a good skater he back in plenty of time I think we’ll see more of that from Team Sweden that we did not see in the first period Carlson upset with himself a little bit as he bends over shakes his head but we have not seen Sweden activate their defense too much in this game and they’re going to have to create some man-advantage breaks the way Finland are tying things up in the neutral zone and and one of the main players that’ll do it this guy here one of the best skaters in the world Carlson Laing off waiting for someone to open up and it’s Warburg he’s a good one L to spin away from the for champ Philip Warford andon stman here’s his Tampa Bay teammate Victor headman and now Backstrom calms things down for Sweden just sends it back to the defenseman keeps possession and Backstrom has it now offed toward taras knocks that down and he’s covering it finally Backstrom comes near by the whistle goes 0 Finland and Sweden second period action [ __ ] haven’t been terribly busy but have been good when they’ve been called upon and sine wins another face off Oliver Eckman Larson he led the Arizona Coyotes in scoring not just defenseman scoring he was their top Point getter Char Mercy WS it around there’s Lou Erikson he goes up the Middle s are up there this is Daniel now henryman Larson in front to Louis Erikson Ean lson down in the corner and cting caps it to Daniel behind the net out of the reach of Ericson Yan shoves at it line for Finland 18-year-old L 19-year-old AO and 21-year-old barov he has been a factor spent a lot of time in the Sweden in they’re out there now pH forur shots off the club of BR by a pokes out bankr steals AO trying to check anstrom but he’s tough to take the punk away from it’s Carlson at the Blue Line at home that shot block by [Applause] RS SE back in spins the other way marov up the [Applause] line Sweden not giving the young 18-year-old a chance to shoot the puck one of his best skills is that shot here’s the Speedy Carlson Soderberg takes it away from him Carlson goes to the net back to the Blue Line back home won’t direct at at the B Carlson pass doesn’t get to the front of the net now hold loses it to Michael bankin bin shak’s off a stick and that’s over the Glock almost sense that Carlson is one of the few players that might be able to break this game open a little bit another one forsberg and he changes the angle of this shot so that he can get a lane to put it into and tuar Ras just fights it off enough with his glove off the face off that was headman triying to get it through but hman did a good job of blocking his shot con s some hard work to get the good game always seem to be able to find each other here stman got right in the mix got the goal stman started his career right in this building as they Dr and who knows why he was let had a long against Nik kuu backland took a really big draw for Sweden against Russia late in that game he actually lost it and he created a chance but he had been very good in the faceoffs prior to that in that game against the Russians he’s an excellent two-way Center we all know that Gabriel land this G stman out out of the way just just before full contact was made by granin mol takes his time he won a Swedish Hockey League title in 2012 he was also the defenseman of the Year Rookie of the Year in the Swedish Hockey League after silverberg was also on that 2012 championship team Leo com up through Center Pula skating well but he can’t split the [Applause] defense see yenan back in front of the net that didn’t find filpula had some speed coming back into the finish at Daniel sad over to Carlson down low again he’s got the Rover position going Henri sadine behind the net Lou Erikson almost fell over the net kept his balance now he’s got the pck at the blue line that’s behind the goal Henri Line Carlson to Erikson back to Carlson and that home it’s almost as if it’s a power play right now Sweden working the puck around Finland is tired but they’ve got the puck now Tavo terab and he steals it and brings it inside the Swedish hosi able to get to the bench for a change long change in this second period really thinking of offense now the rest of the group goes to complete the change as po hangs on to it in his own endrick Ling and he used that great shot Sweden triying to keep that Gap tight and he couldn’t shoot marar comes out of the corner up at the Blue Line it’s yoka and one botman head back to the Blue Line there it’s over to L again that was in too tight he couldn’t one time that one but it gets to the F an and L fist had to get the Blocker on it take keep it out it’ll be time here for Finland to head up into the Swedish head one more time before the period winds up marov he bounces it in on lung Fist and he’s got it with 12.5 seconds to go little extracurricular activity as L A centers the puck here and yenin with a good chance he gets nailed by Backstrom now as they skate up the ice keep it going if you can guys you you’re going to see part me yokin and with the pretty good chop behind the leg that gets away with headman on him as well and then that’s why there was a bit of a scrum after the whle in front of the net the right of Henrik Lis power play for Finland Finland wins the draw the line and got a shot rebound it’ll come back to grin poyu he shoots quickly but Sweden was able to block it and they’re going to get out of this second period with a lead there’ll be 1 minute and 1 second of a power play that will carry over to the third lanquist is very competitive and maybe he’s been a little bit behind a Time in this game but his last two saves have been crucial first of all in line a and then that last one moments ago in the dying seconds of the second period third period about to start Sweden leads Finland one to nothing andon stman scored the goal in the second period and he’s also in the Penalty Box for the next 1 minute and 1 second so Finland starts the third on the power play in desperate need of a goal they lost their opening game to team North America a second loss wouldn’t officially eliminate them but it would certainly make things difficult lying a quick shot to start this third period lest kicked that aside now it bounces around in possession of barov tried to pass it in front of the net no one could come up with it for team finy here’s barov again that got away from him but he tips it back to the line doerson he intercepted in front of the net but didn’t get it out markov’s pass intended for line it just hit a stick in Sweden HRI list didn’t let anything past him carab trying to get to the front of the net but Sweden five of them were back in front of their go to defend forsberg pass to the side of the netas got over to make that save back up to the blue line right back to the corner that he just vacated he bumps his man with hiso hard amula pisto reacquaint with horn Chris but made a pass up ahead to niik Kyu in the offensive zone and everybody else in the middle of the ice you see yoken an sweepers in speed but he couldn’t get that on goal yinan gets it again back to the Blue Line button back to yenan that shot is stopped by lung Fist and he hangs on with kov right on the doorstep few moments ago back with good speed helped by forsberg with the puck now goes to the net and gasque had to be very sharp it was almost similar to the Swedish goal in tight that they scored in the second period and there is karov literally right on top of Henrik lanquist shots in the game 25- 18 in favor of Finley off to Yan back to off doesn’t shoot topa still no shot here from Finland they’re passing it around waiting for a good one Buton he takes the shot you see Yen was right there but L was down low and made the save Sweden sends it down the ice and fresh ice at the start of the period that’s plenty for icing W that has had a couple of looks in this game he walks went right to the middle of the ice and then gets it back top of the circle and Henrik lanquist is now seemed to tracking that puck much better than he did early in the game couple of huge saves late in Period number two one with his glove line line which is a beauty on the on the one timer on the power play Alexander barov Marcus Krueger on that faceof clean win for Krueger back silverberg shots off the shoulder of two carass the way things have gone he’s going to have to be a brick wall and not allow anymore M’s after this goes in the net oh yeah this means a lot to each and every other play each and every player even a starlake Henrik list who has done so much already in his career that was the contrast of emotions Elation from lfac frustration from granin and it’s over Sweden beats their Rivals two to nothing and they have two wins at the World Cup of Hockey and are in a terrific position to advance to the semifinals in Finland not officially eliminated but at 0 and2 it doesn’t look promising you know was interesting wasn’t it Henrik lanquist at the start of this game looked uncomfortable to me he was spitting out rebounds he was fighting off pucks but he’s such a competitive competitive star go he seemed to find his game halfway through the game and when things got a little tougher and the stakes went up that’s when he made save after save as Finland pressed at his third period and team Sweden now has to be considered one of the favorites in this tournament and as we move forward with this very complete veteran team
