get into the SEC Championship and it obviously was not close it was it was not good at all from the start I was telling Brandon and Chris here that they’ve been out scored to start games now 59 to zero in their last four SEC games um I know that they and they got the 17 to zero in this game so I can just tell you how bad this one went penalty 60 yards of penalties all the reviews went the wrong way can’t come up with fourth in inches and fourth in one on two different occasions that three to 10 points uh obviously could have been the difference in the game where they gave you all these chances Texas gave you chances you earn those chances but you come up with your pick six and then the other turnovers come up with zero points and that’s how this one goes our panel Brandon Leone Chris Harrington and Chris Taylor there on uh Zoom we’ll we’ll start things off with Chris as he’s further away CT break this one down for us man it was tough to watch um you know just just watching it unfold you know it just we were dominated on both both lines of scrimmage you know I don’t know that there’s any other way to put it um you know you had a back that ran for 186 yards tonight average 5.6 yards to carry um you know we couldn’t get our running game going and and you know like you said on fourth down uh you know we were stopped on two occasions and one of those occasions we go we go unbalanced and and we have a tight end trying to block their defensive end so didn’t understand it from a from a scheme standpoint um you know again and I’ve screamed this for for weeks now I I thought I route combinations and that the great part about what they did tonight with the broadcast they would show it from the from the endzone copy and you could see the combinations and you know when when we couldn’t when we actually got free on the outside we we didn’t see it and we missed the throw or you know when we actually have it protected up our receivers can’t get free so for whatever we reason it it just it didn’t come together on offense and and you know Marcel it didn’t seem like he ever got comfortable uh but give credit man you you’ve got a guy in Anthony Hill Jr that you know he sat there and he spot Marcel all night and you know when you have a guy that’s that’s as good an athlete as Marcel is you know you’ve got to figure out ways to to push the ball down the field receivers have got to get open um and we’ve got to block it up but you know it it is absolutely a dagger when you know you have a chance to to bring the game within three fourth and inches or mean you have it two times down there within the five and and we can’t get it in the end zone and you know I thought at that point maybe take the three points at that point to give yourself a chance but you know that that’s here and over there I thought tonight Texans look like the better football team we look like an eight and4 team tonight not being able to stop the run costly penalties um you know couldn’t run the football so I just thought it was a missed opportunity SEC Championship games in front of you you haven’t played these guys in 13 years it it’s it’s a huge rivalry it’s big for the state it’s big for recruiting and we go out and we get shut out on offense and our defense you know scores the only points of the game so missed opportunity but you know you you get a chance to sit back and and watch them play next week and and figure out what you’re going to do from here and what bowl game you might go to but missed opportunity um just not a good night all around for for our football team thank you CT um I see a lot of Texas people coming in here and some are being classy some are being some pabs uh Brandon you want to take tell your thoughts on uh on what happened tonight yeah I mean CT said missed opportunities I think that’s just the story of this season and you know before go before this game go back to South Carolina go back to Auburn um I I’ll give Notre Dame a pass because that’s game one but but ultimately we blew it I mean uh even after choking away those two away SEC games you had an opportunity here uh to come to cyfield with with Texas and an opportunity to keep them out of the championship ship game their first year in conference and an opportunity to you know make a big statement as a program and step into the SEC Championship and and we just didn’t do it and so it’s extremely disappointing I think we’re all sick and tired of these moments I I feel terribly for our fans and our and our alumni that give so much back to the university and you know we get our get oursel in a position to execute and win and go do something big and we just choke it away I mean you miss two interceptions in the first half uh you get in the Red Zone you have opening drive you get down there you get stopped uh this a big man Football League it’s a line of scrimmage league and and Chris said it before the game they they whipped our tails up front you know and so it’s hard to get on here and and be a hater when they just came and took the game from us they were better uh they were better than us across the board the watching their offense versus watching our offense you know the pressure is on I hope the nil steps up because you know our offensive play calling is atrocious I mean you you can’t get points defense gives you three turnovers you get a block punt it and you don’t do anything you don’t capitalize at all and so there was so much buildup for this game you know I know agies have been waiting for this for a long time and and here’s the reality man and Chris can speak to this I’m sure other former players can speak to this I’m so tired of talking to people about how awesome cyle field is like man you know like we’re the program that’s like hey come see our Stadium it’s fun to play at and beat us you know like we got this great fans this amazing stadium and we just don’t step up and execute and um we were out coach tonight we were outplay tonight and even still like you said we had multiple opportunities to take this game despite anybody that was there watching it in person I mean it never felt like we were in it after the first drive when we got stopped and um it’s just it’s extremely disappointing I I don’t understand how you run a counter you know on fourth and one uh from the goal line with one of the best fronts in the country you pull a guard you pull a lineman and create a gap for them to get through you call time out it it just it just didn’t make much sense to me uh it’s very disappointing we all involved and obviously you know more importantly I’m I’m sick for the players because I do know they’ve played their tails off and they put themselves in position going into these last four weeks but dude you said it Nuno 52 to zero in the first quarter I mean you can’t win games it don’t matter if you’re in the AAC whatever the other leagues are you can’t can not win many division one football games when you come out and you’re down 17 210 you just we’re not good enough no one’s really good enough for that listen to this 10 Z to LSU 140 to South Carolina 210 to Auburn and then 7-0 in the first quarter but it got up to 17 the zero yeah that’s been what it’s been yeah I mean that it’s just it’s too much to spot talented teams that have talented rosters and you know at the end of the day I don’t understand how we come out so slow with so much on the line the last four weeks of the season and man it’s just it’s there’s hard to put words I’m sure everyone feels us on this like what do you say about that except we just blew it I mean period and and the road’s not going to get any easier this was the best schedule we’ve had in the SEC the sec’s down this year everybody knows it um and and we just didn’t capitalize missed opportunities uh Harrington I uh I I made a comment earlier this week on the show is like whatever narratives are out there throw them out the window so whatever storyline is out there for instance Payton Thorne had a bum shoulder those for 300 right uh Lenor sers get sacked every play didn’t get sacked once against Texas A&M Quinn yers bum ankle dude runs for a 26 yard third down conversion you know yeah and it should have been a sack like that it feels like that’s been the storyline since the start of November yeah no it’s definitely I think everybody’s covered all the points um on the game you know it was definitely disappointing uh to see uh definitely disappointing to lose a battle up front uh knowing you know what our offensive and defensive lines are capable of we just got beat today up front and again another poor tackling performance um I don’t know what else to say I mean I think it’s all I think it’s all been covered all right so we we’ve touched a little bit on play calling some L like it’s it’s a real problem I I love the dudes on that defensive line they are some studs but we have not seen and by the way the tackling is the entire team I thought the way the team started the game the way they were flying after the ball I was encouraged I thought all right this is the defense we signed up for and then all of a sudden Trey Weisner realized I can run on these guys and they and he could not be stopped again man I mean just missed opportunities I mean these we have good ath on this football team we have good players and when you put yourself in a position and the Call’s right uh I mean again that the defensive call uh earlier when When Quinn ran for that long scramble was that the first quarter it was the first quarter they should have been off the fields should have been a sack punt we get the ball back uh even after we missed the opportunity on offense but we missed it it’s missed opportunities and if you ever want to take the step as a program to be elite and you ever want to get rid of all the talking points and the booger mcfarlands on national TV calling us little brother and all these people that just look down on us you’ll never get there if you don’t take advantage of the opportunities put in front of you I want to read this question from Thomas just on the YouTube page I think he’s a Texas Fan genuine question here why were you all so confident before the game and I don’t know so confident is the right word I think what what I echoed and I think many of you all did and I’ll let CT start on this one was if they can tackle and get after the quarterback I think A&M will win this game they couldn’t tackle they didn’t get after the quarterback uh the offense was maybe even a bigger problem because the offense did nothing CT yeah and and you know I think the confidence comes from you you look at the records and you throw those out the window I mean we’ve all played in this rivalry and you understand it it it really doesn’t matter where you are in you know during the season and you know I know Texas comes in and and they’re 10 in one and you know they have all they’re a top five team in the country and all of those things but you know teams have lost you know we went into Texas in 98 ranked number five and and and Ricky had a huge game and so it’s just when you come into these rivalry games and a lot of these guys are from the state and and you know they play against each other in high school that’s where the confidence comes in because these guys are just going to play hard it doesn’t matter you saw the Michigan Ohio State game you know it’s just it’s rivalries and what these games to these players but you know when it when it comes down to I think you know tackling is and and forgive me I I’ve never played defense so you know I’ve never stuck my head in there and trying to bring a grown man to the ground it’s just uh I I think that we’re we’re we’re coming in so hot and and and trying to make the big hit instead of breaking down putting your chest on a guy and getting him to the ground and so um you know tackling is want to and you know when you got that Texas front started leaning on us that I think we had run 14 plays Midway through the fourth quarter um that Texas front just leaned on us and leaned on us and then it becomes you know it’s just a matter of will will you get in there and do you want to hit the ball carrier after he’s coming downhill and you’re these big guys have been leaning on you and so you know looking at us one and four the last you know what what you know one in three the last four games um 0 and three down the stretch in the SEC it’s just you know it once again those same problems wear their ugly heads tackling inability to to to get separation on the outside not making the big plays down the field and it’s just you know spotting teams big leagues from the start so man there there’s there’s so much that we can we can go through and talk about but you know the bottom line is Texas out play us tonight uh they were the more physical team on the line of scrimmage they made the plays that were there and uh when they needed to stop they were able to get us to get our ball carriers to the ground and and and make those plays that they needed to so just a missed opportunity man you’ve got the title game in front of you and we just don’t go out and we get it done guys um where does A&M go from here because this was a very favorable schedule in Harrington you star soft here very favorable schedule in the fact that yeah it was tough it’s an SEC schedule SEC schedules but all these games were at home next year the same schedule you flip it you go to Notre Dame you go to LSU you go to Texas um obviously losing your your star running back hurts um and and that’s part of the reason the offense changed but that being said something with the offense has to change how how do they build from this year one eight and four nobody likes talking about that anymore because like I’m sick of waiting it take from there yeah well I mean you turn over half the roster you got a coach and change you know you’re starting from scratch you know getting that culture like Elco wants it like he’s done I mean there’s lots to be proud of what this team has accomplished this year and you just expect them to continue to move forward building on this momentum um you know like Elco said he’s not a politician he’s a real Coach he’s not up there fast talking he’s dealing it straight and uh I think he’s I think he’s done a tremendous job with this group of guys that he’s had and I think he’s going to continue to build on that uh moving in next season so um you know culture’s set you know the the staff is set you know and now you just keep adding pieces and another you know another offse well we we’ve got a bowl game to play I guess we’ll find out about that but you know another offseason another recruiting class um I mean I think you know they’ve accomplished a ton this season you know we’re we’re close to being good enough we’re in position to you know win games like this and we’re just a little bit short just from a you know a Personnel perspective you know dynamic offense perspective so I’m I’m interested to see how it goes how the offseason goes and you know where we end up I guess in this this bull season right and 903 on the YouTube page says excuses are like blank are we given any excuses I’m trying to figure out I mean Texas was the better team well I love that comment because I think that’s the thought my next thought literally was going to be we just have to quit making excuses as a program we’re not making excuses for them tonight but as a program there’s if you sit in Coffield you come toward these facilities you realize the location and the proximity of this University there’s zero time left for excuses um we just don’t get it done we don’t I mean golly dude SMU is about to go play in the playoffs you know what I’m saying SMU is about to go play in the in the 12 team playoff we’re going to be sitting at home or know whatever whatever bowl game we go to Texas Bowl if you don’t go and win these games if you don’t take these opportunities like Elco Chris I I feel you I really do what you said about the culture and Elco being real and not being a politician and all that I I feel you on that I I really believe that he really has that type of Personality that type of approach uh but he positioned himself this year as a coach as a head coach of this program to take the next step as a program and we missed we swung and missed and so there’s no excuses for it we blew it as a team as a program we blew it and the only way you said what’s the next step forward the only way is to it’s a new world bro this ain’t this ain’t all the players are staying here and and we’re going to build on depth like we’re going to lose guys you know we’re gonna probably lose recruits we’re going to gain some recruits we’re going to gain some guys and so you have to take these opportunities when they’re in front of you you said it best we had no business being in this game after the first half but we we had chances had multiple chances to go and take it and earn a birth in the SEC championship against your rival that you wanted to have at cyle field we got the game here in cyle field this year we had everything in front of us and we piss it down our leg and so no one will take us serious as a football program until we go and win and so we talk about culture change and I think elco’s started the little bit of foundation of that but man some of the way these games have played out there’s no culture change when you go 52 and0 down in the first quarter with all you got to do is win one of those games between South Carolina Auburn and you’re maybe in the conversation but we didn’t do it and so until we take that next step as a program until we quit making excuses and looking around and being like man we’re such we have such good fans such a good Stadium until we go and do it it doesn’t matter and so what’s next for them I hope that they block out the noise and I hope Elco makes the right decisions in the offseason as a head coach and the leader of this program to change the mentality right we’ve got to learn how to win at an elite level I mean listen dude Quinn yers I’m sorry say what you want to say about that dude D throw some he was throwing darts man like the the touchdown in the corner of the end zone with the throw where Bryce should have caught that interception I mean there’s so many plays where he took it we didn’t take the game they took the game they took us out of the SEC Championship and there’s nothing you could say no what the hell can we say they were the better team and I know like there’s some grown men that are 36 and above coming on here and gloating and look that’s part of the Rivalry I I I understand it can’t be mad at this that I’d be doing the same thing I would I would never go on a rival weite I think that’s loser Behavior to be honest with you you have to be the Biggest Loser on the internet to go I’m gonna go find I understand watching and laughing misery just be classy because no none of these fools would be that way in person we just know that right so but there are some very classy people on there the bottom line is Texas was the better team all season long they were the better team here the enironment was great cool I like cool environments it doesn’t matter they lost the game they lost it on multiple fronts and football is a game of chess right and A&M did not make the right choices when Texas gave you opportunities to get back into the game that’s and that’s the frustrating part because not saying you would have won had you capitalized on all those could you imagine what that place would have been like if you do kick a field goal to start the game if you do capitalize on the second turnover when you’re right there MH block Point even though Texas was the better team yeah what would that place have been like that yeah I mean again what if what if it doesn’t matter uh there is no wh ifs we’re eight and4 and um we had so many big opportunities this season and you know I’m going to obviously stand behind the program stand behind coach OKO and I’ll be here supporting them along the way but it just sucks because this is the first time in 13 years that I’ve seen us have this type of opportunity and uh we blew it we wasted it I see Walter on the YouTube page called me a loser he does put on Instagram pictures of guns so I probably won’t mess with Walter that’s not the kind of battle I want to get into Walter but Walter you can come shake my hand anytime you want T so we can find out uh CT um so now the SEC Championship Game Texas and and Georgia are gonna play I think Texas is a different team than the Georgia played a few weeks back um but they also got some problems with the turnovers and and they didn’t really have f today per se um ifm isn’t able to capitalize on these a team like Georgia can I think that is the chank that’s in in Texas’s armor you know you you look across the board man they’ve got Dynamic Playmakers on the outside they they’ve got a running back that runs the ball hard they’ve got a physical offensive line um you look at the defense I mean what I mean 45 dominated that game what his name Bron man he he flat dominated the game along the front and then you have you know Anthony Hill Jr and Simmons but it will be a different game you know Georgia they’ve been so up and down and and this quarterback play has has been uh so so crazy for them but I think the the the one thing that Texas has in this game that’s the advantage you know Sark always seems to put them in a position to to find the matchup to get you know to I just think that first game Texans was overwhelmed by the speed of Georgia’s front I I don’t think that’s going to be the case you know this second game and you know I think Texas will come in they’ll be prepared um I think it’s going to be a good game but Georgia can’t play the way they played against Georgia Tech and and expect to come out of there but if there’s one thing that Texas has to get cleaned up it is the turnovers they they they will keep you in the game uh you know they kept us in the game tonight they didn’t put us away U they kept Arkansas in the game last week um so they have a tendency to let team hang around and and you know Georgia you know as good as they’ve been they just need to you know make a few plays and and you can have the same outcome from from uh the first meeting but it should be a good game man I know I’m GNA tune in you know it’s still I’m a huge football fan I hated that the agies didn’t do what they needed to do to get there but being a football fan definitely got to tune in and watch this thing next week too many penalties again too many penalties guys yeah I mean the substitution penalty we got a sack fumble and I no I didn’t I saw some stuff on I saw somebody tweet that there was a substitution on the Texas side that should have allowed Texas A&M the ability to they came back in the game Weisner came back in the ref was looking at Texas’s sideline and didn’t see I didn’t see Shamar come on and then run back off they should have held the football and and instead you know they they ran it the the targeting penalty I mean we’re not going to go down that road but there were some things that that were missed that uh that did not go in our favor guys um this’s going to sting a little bit surprised are you surprised by the outcome today everybody yes I am surprised um you know I think obviously I think the thing that derailed the season was losing levy on Moss I think that was a pivotal point Y uh I also think if you look at our two biggest wins and both of those wins and to me this is something that we got to really look at I mean we coach Elco and the staff have to look at we beat Missouri they had no idea that Connor was going to play and they prep for Marcel Reed but we kind of surprised him and credit to Connor he played his tail off we won that game when he wasn’t playing well against LSU and they thought Marcel wasn’t going to come in Marcel caught him off guard and he exploded on him we just Zone readed him to death and we took over when people know what we’re doing we haven’t really done much since then and so to me it’s like our two big big wins that we hung our hat on this year we caught people off guard and so what are we going to do as a coach and staff what are we going to do as far as bringing in new Personnel on the roster with nil whatever it looks like it’s way over my head I’m too ignorant to have any understanding what we’re going to do but how are we going to adjust as a coaching staff and as a program with Talent incoming and some will’ll probably lose to not be you know so easily prepared for you know those two things we caught people off guard tonight Tex wasn’t caught off guard no and Marcel you know wasn’t necessarily a factor so I mean I know he’s a very good play caller but they had some really good play calling Texas oh dude they they the play calling was outstanding for them I mean they called a great game Harrington surprised by today yeah I was surprised by the performance up front I just expected more I expected us to do better against the run I mean the holes are wide I mean I saw guys on the ground I mean I saw Shamar you know a couple of guys you know falling down you got to stay on your feet you got to fight blocks you can’t lose contain I mean those are basic things that I know that they harp on and we’re just not executing on it and I don’t know if it’s like the SEC schedule we just got beat up through the season all these ups and downs uh but we’ve got to do a better job we got to win the we got to win the game up front and I expected us to to do a better job against the run today and it just allowed them to continue drives just push forward you just can’t can’t win games when you know they’re running you got a running back running for 186 yards it just doesn’t work CT surprised I am rivalry game you know I thought it’d be closer and I just feel like the the place that you know you you got to compete along the line of scrimmages and and I just think we got our butts whipped up front um so that was that was shocking to me you know when you look at how big our offensive line is and and the vulnerability that Texas has had against the run I think that was the one place that you could hurt them and they played in they played on our side of the ball and made plays when they had to and then you know on the other side you know like Harrington said you see guys on the ground and you know we’re not making contact until three and four yards downfield so those things were very surprising I just thought we got out physical by a by a football team tonight and and uh that’s not what we’ve been off season I just thought that uh you know we we didn’t play our Brandon football and and and they brought it to us from the from the opening kickoff all right guys thank you very much for joining us I guess we’ll do it again at the bow game but it feels terrible saying out loud
