Roki Sasaki and Hyeseong Kim are two notable players from Asian professional baseball leagues who are making the transition to Major League Baseball (MLB) through the posting system. Roki Sasaki, a 23-year-old Japanese right-handed pitcher from the Chiba Lotte Marines of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), is expected to be posted for MLB teams, but due to his age, he will be classified as an international amateur free agent, limiting his initial earnings to a signing bonus within MLB’s international bonus pool constraints. In contrast, Hyeseong Kim, a 25-year-old South Korean second baseman from the Kiwoom Heroes of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), has already been officially posted, making him available to sign with any MLB team from December 4, 2024 for the next 45 days. Kim, benefiting from his age and professional status, can sign a major league contract without the same financial restrictions as Sasaki, potentially securing a multi-year deal. Both players represent significant acquisitions for MLB teams looking to bolster their rosters with international talent.

In the 2024 MLB offseason, Luis Severino signed a landmark three-year, $67 million deal with the Oakland Athletics, marking the largest contract guarantee in franchise history; the deal includes an opt-out clause after the second year. Shane Bieber, coming off Tommy John surgery, re-signed with the Cleveland Guardians for one year at $10 million with a player option for 2026 at $16 million, indicating a cautious approach to his recovery and potential performance. Meanwhile, Danny Jansen signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Rays, aiming to address their need for an upgrade at catcher after ranking among the bottom in OPS at that position in recent seasons.

the A’s just gave someone almost $70 million let me repeat that the A’s one of the cheapest franchises in Major League Baseball history just set a franchise record for most money ever given out on top of that news we have an update on wotto Roki Sasaki Shane Bieber Kay Holmes and the Rays they have a brand new catcher because their Catcher from last year was one of the worst hitters ever so if you want to stay up today on the game of baseball all you got to do is hit that subscribe button WE Post these almost every single day and don’t forget that recap has brought to by SeatGeek and Underdog fantasy use code fuzzy now real quick we have some smaller updates in regards to Roki Sasaki and wodo let’s talk about woto first a picture was just posted my editor pesky talk sent me this I have no idea who wot is sitting with I know that Scott Boris is to his left that’s his Mega agent and then who are the other guys next to him can you guys pinpoint who these are because that would be a big update for the rest of us and the reports are that Wan sto is going to get 700 plus million and that it’s going to be a lifetime contract so 14 15 years $700 plus million those are kind of the rumors floating around right now another rumor floating around right now is that Roki Sasaki the Japanese fenom who has officially been posted by the way heung Kim has also been posted as well but the difference between him and Sasaki is that Kim is 25 years old so he can come to Major League Baseball as a free agent whereas saki he has to go the Otani route because he’s under 25 he has to sign as an amateur Prospect so kimm’s going to get paid more but that doesn’t mean that he’s better than Sasaki keep that in mind now back to the big room rumor about Roki Sasaki reporters across baseball are saying that he’s already chosen where he wants to go to with the Padres leading the pack yes over the Dodgers but again take these rumors with a grain of salt we get rumors every single offseason these aren’t real just yet but the Padres right now are considered the top contenders staying with contending or contenders the Guardians did it they brought back beibs Shane Bieber is coming back for lesser money than he could have got with other clubs he wants to run it back with his young Squad that he grew up with he really loves his teammates and he just showed that by kind of taking a Team friendly deal just like Jose Ramirez the numbers are $10 million for 2025 which is nothing for a guy who’s literally won a Sai Young and then in 2026 there’s a $16 million player option which also isn’t a lot for what I just talked about but obviously the context is he’s not just any sa young winner he’s a sa Young Award winner that had some down seasons and Tommy John so risk is definitely in play obviously the ceiling for Shane Bieber is one of the highest for any starting pitcher in baseball I mean back in 2020 the dude put up a 1.6 eray and a 14 and 1 half strikeouts per nine that’s not easy to do for anyone in baseball let alone a starting pitcher after 2020 is when the doubt started creeping in about Shane’s overall pitch mix or velocity even though he had a relatively decent ER he had a 3.2 erra from 2021 to 2023 the dip in velocity coincided with a dip in strikeouts per nine and I’m not talking about he went from a 14 strikeouts per nine to a 10 and 1 half strikeouts per nine he went to a 7 and 1 half strikeouts per nine then out of nowhere sa Bieber was back in Action to begin 2024 it didn’t last very long because he tore his arm in the bullpen right before his second start of the Season which is insane because he still went out there and said f it I’m going to throw this second start and over his first 12 Innings to begin 2024 he had 20 strikeouts and just one walk without allowing a single run he’s come up with Cleveland he’s become brothers with a lot of these guys and he wants to run it back in 20125 potentially even 2026 with a Tanner BBY maybe Tristan Mackenzie is back in the mix as ball and Gavin will Willams keeps on getting better the beibs is back and as a Guardians fan I couldn’t be happier maybe Shane Bieber is going to be next year’s Luis srino and the reason why I say that is because sevie was a bum useless in 2023 he comes back for the Mets and actually has a pretty solid season and just got a fat bag from the A’s the Sacramento A’s whatever you want to call them sevy just got a franchise record 67 million from the A’s that passes Eric Chavez who was actually one of my favorite players growing up he was one of the few players I watched where it made me think wow I want to keep watching baseball but $67 million to sebie is a Scott Boris classic because Eric shave has got $66 million back in 2004 so beating that by 1 million can mean that sebie set a franchise record now real quick before we talk about Luis sabino’s skill set and what he brings to the table I do want to tell you guys what I’ve heard from the Great Vine now through the Great Vine over the last few months and years I’ve heard that the other owners in Major League Baseball would not approve of a sale from Oakland to Las Vegas if John Fisher the Oakland A’s at the time owner did not basically verbally agree to have a salary floor the owners basically said you have to spend more money if we’re going to approve this sale of the team you got to spend and not embarrass the rest of us the A’s front office said that this was a kind of Splash deal to show their new market that they’re ready to compete and spend more money but again allegedly this is just a owner’s decision to force John Fisher and is spending money cuz it’s not like the A’s are completely inept and useless when it comes to their development system we’ve seen Superstars like Josh Donaldson Matt Chapman Marcus Simeon Matt Olson and Shawn Murphy that’s not even talking about all the pitchers that have gone through Oakland they’ve all bubbled to the surface because of where they started so again allegedly the other owners are basically saying if you’re going to go to a new market you can’t be the same owner as you were if you’re going to build up these superstars in a new market you got to keep and retain these guys spend some money John and maybe this is the first Domino to fall Luis saino getting $67 million I guess Miguel andar was a big part of why came to the a the fact that the clubhouse is really close andu har backed it up and also $67 million is a lot of money the biggest question about this deal is which version of srino are they going to get from 2017 to 2022 seevi was really really good a 3.1 ER with a crazy 10 and a half strikeouts per nine he was a two-time Allstar he finished top 10 twice in Sai Young maybe they get 2023 sey who was again a bum useless a 6 and 1/2 ER due to an 11 1 12 hits per nine he gave up 11.5 hits per nine innings that is alltime bad then in 2024 he was kind of both versions of sevie in one season he had a 3.1 ER his first 13 starts and then a 4 and a half ER his final 18 which sevy are the A’s going to get now even if sevy does perform like an ace they still have a long way to go to fix the rest of that rotation I really like their lineup I mean they could lead baseball in home runs next season but I guess you’re getting a first look at the A’s and John fiser turning the page so to speak what do you make of this Luis saino is not the only former Yankee to get a bag as a starting pitcher clay Holmes you heard that correctly clay Holmes is going to be the Luis srino replacement with the Mets he can grow his beard back if he wants to bearded Kay Holmes was actually I mean he kind of has some Aura he’s getting that much money because the Mets are going to use clay Holmes as a starting pitcher now here’s some context about clay Holmes he started 114 games in his monor League career and he’s got the frame he’s a big person 6’4 6’5 he’s got the skill set in terms of a pitch mix to be a multi- inning guy we’ve seen Seth luga already do it for the exact same Squad Seth Lugo went from the Mets to the Padres and then obviously the Royals he went from a relief guy to one of the better starters in baseball Klay Holmes is trying to go down the Michael King route of being a stud reliever for the Yankees and then going to a new team and becoming a stud starting pitcher and don’t forget that once upon a time Chris Sail he was not a starter his first two seasons he pitched 79 games as a reliever before becoming a Hall of Fame starting pitcher that we all know and love I don’t know about you guys but the idea of Kay Holmes with the beard throwing 97 998 as a starter that could be a lot of fun you know what wasn’t fun Ray’s fans trying to watch Alex Jackson try and hit baseballs their catcher had a 26 Ops plus last year which is actually lower than his career Ops plus of 27 that experiment is probably coming to an end as the Rays have officially given Danny Jansen almost $10 million he is getting a guaranteed 8 .5 million almost as a prove it deal the reason why I say prove it is because he Rak in 2022 with 15 home runs and a 142 Ops plus he had 17 home runs two years ago in 2023 before he absolutely cratered in the second half he was one of the worst hitters in Major League Baseball down the stretch and by the way yes this is the same guy that played for the Jays and the Red Sox in one game he’s the first player ever to play for two teams in one game Ben rfit was awful against lefties so if they go with a Danny Jansen and Ben rfit platoon I actually kind of like that a lot
