[Music] welcome back welcome back to another episode of the podcast it’s your boy Mr infuego notice there’s only two of us here today I’ve got Arie on my right well on my left as if I’m on the other side our third uh Amigo he is still currently uh doing great things in uh the great state of Philadelphia in his local Aldi store so he said he will try to join us later on but yeah we just G to go ahead and keep on try uh keep on keeping on so how’s it going there Arie not too bad another week almost in the books here yep I a lot people a lot of people getting ready to enjoy a nice long vacation some may have uh gone into their last work week of 2024 so yeah which is good much needed break I’m sure for everybody definitely definitely unlike me I go back to work next week but that’s a different story all right so basically here’s what we’re going to do um I do want to open this up with some uh very uh sad news that just occurred uh earlier today we lost another Legend in uh baseball today well he officially passed yesterday but it was announced today Ricky Henderson um born in 58 died yesterday he was only he was 65 years young yeah that’s Young and I did some research to figure out the cause of death and apparently he’s been battling pneumonia for quite some time wow so I mean at that age I mean you’re you’re susceptible for anything at this point but uh just to get a quick Glimpse for those of you who really aren’t familiar with uh the Man of Steel if you will all right so this is his career his career stats okay I mean right now he is the king in stolen bases with over 1,400 stolen B bases and apparently there is somebody within the group who believes This Record will never be broken and uh I mean I will say Ricky is fast for that era with this new generation of legs and speed it’s just going to be a matter of time I’m not going to say it’s going to happen over overnight next five years or whatever but I do foresee this record Being taken over by somebody else yeah definitely is it possible yeah um likely might I say no but um because I we all we all talk about the uh Records that are never going to be broken you know the hit records the steel record so I always thought this one is going to be one of those even if they do adjust the two pitches over to the first base to throw back and then you can’t throw back a third time um you know the the runner has a pretty much free shot other than the throw to Second um and then the extra two inches or whatever it was on the size of the Bas yeah I actually chuckled off that comment I don’t care how big they make that basebody yeah I mean it’s one of those things like that’s not the issue it’s getting on base is the issue right I mean we we know the throwover we get that we know that’s half the battle that’s the yeah that’s more than half the battle so I think the getting on Bas is is where I think when I say that’s a tough one to to to break but again who knows what’s going to happen in the next so many years um it’s just the the amount of how he’s yeah that’s a good comment there by Orlando collector’s dream um yes healthy it all of this we could say this Mike Trout okay so 700 home runs Pole’s healthier every every player griffy mantle what if those guys would have had 800 home runs would have Maz had 750 had he been healthier all these things pretty much are based on health all these com I with Ricky I I don’t know as much about him as your your average collector or somebody who yeah lives in that area but what I when I was doing my little research on him I was surprised to to see he played for nine different teams in a 25e span and he was he was desired those weren’t just cheap deals wer those weren’t hey I’m just floating around to get another million here or millionaire towards the end of my career those were people were like hey Rick’s available let’s go get him um he can help us out and many ways and people just hear stolen bases but look at those numbers I mean just three shy of 300 home runs almost 280 batting average 111.1 War over 10,000 at bats yeah it’s it’s pretty impressive very impressive I mean it’s so impressive to the point where everybody’s starting to pick his stuff up yeah okay it’s been really affordable in that in that psa7 range and even the eight you can get for right around 200 Couple Grand roughly and you know you dive into some more numbers but for the longest time that was a card that was like readily available so what I got here is Ricky Henderson’s uh rookie card from PSA 10 which a lot of us will likely never get their hands on all the way on down to a PSA 5 okay so the there was only one sale of that PSA 10 which literally happened recently at $144,000 yeah I think the the record maybe around the co time it was something some one of them I think hit close to 200 185 or 180 plus the the 20% juice for Commission in an auction and then just like you said last sale for a five was $45 yeah a a six 60 66 67 bucks great card you and those sixes you can’t even buy us an ungraded one for that because people are going to think oh that looks good in first and then they get it in hand they paid 80 bucks they’re going to try to grade it and get a an eight and think that’s going to be worth 200 it’s not the case I mean that’s a great Buy 66 bucks all in and you know maybe these are the type of cards where this is the era of cards where a lot of the grading and the prices a lot of sellers would ask for is based off physical appearance you know is the colors vibrant is it set because no two PSA 6s will be the same yeah when you get in that lower grade stuff it’s it’s like a fingerprint with vintage and I and we say vintage let’s we’ve been saying vintage is 80 and older when people buy collections we’ve been saying that for 30 40 years since I was a kid oh I only buy vintage I would go to a card show or a card shop whatever and it was what do you buy I only buy vintage what’s vintage 80 and older I have my folder personally 85 and older now so I bumped up five years because there’s no Baseline right I’m just doing my own like okay 1985 and older is is now vintage because it’s been about 30 years we’ve been calling Aden earlier when people say I only buy vintage or I only collect that right so I think it’s time to bump that up a bit because we all we are getting older yeah too sh still a great card man under 100 bucks to get a a Hall of Famer a legend like that graded yeah I think that’s a great buy there’s a lot of good stuff like that out there I I I remember uh think it was last year I was going through a box of cards that my brother gave me and there was a raw Ricky Henderson card that was actually in there so I ain’t know what to do with it I sent it to Adrian who I know will give it a good home yeah there you go and that’s the thing like certain things I don’t care what the great is I just want that I’m happy to have it and that goes back to collect how you like to collect yeah exactly so yeah uh expect to hear a lot about the life and career of Ricky Henderson so you know my condolences to him uh to his family and and yeah I mean we all lost a a huge one that just tells us we’re getting older I like what Orlando said Ricky never officially retired from MLB teams just stopped calling that’s that’s funny was his birthday really Wednesday uh just collected a Hall of Fame okay uh so some new stuff really came out not really new but the latest the new flavor of the week is triple threads okay beautiful product yeah despite the fact that it has a massive checklist and I’m not just talking about the base yeah I’m talking about the inserts the parallels the autographs I mean it’s just insane you know I mean set size is only 200 cards but yet you it’s like you’re getting more hits than base 200 cards plus all the parallels of every 200 and all the colors and then all the variations with the relics doubles triples quads Etc yeah I mean this is just the checklist of all autographs only you know I mean it’s it’s it’s amazing hell I went out and Cherry Picked a Julio from this got it out of a what is it out of 75 they say it’s yellow but apparently the triple threads considers it a different parallel like citrate or nitrate or something and they have the oranges at at at 199 or 200 there you go citrine to 75 so beautiful set if you happen to get yourself into a break of this I guar regardless of what team you get guarantee you’re gonna get something beautiful out of it I mean just looking at it it it it’s amazing um besides that I know uh prism baseball showed out I did not see any of it open because there’s no difference of 2024 than the previous years so besides the the the actual players I mean that’s about it so that’s where I’m going with that but now I do want to pick the chat’s brain for a minute so how many of you have found yourselves in a predicament where you bought you bought a card from somewhere whether it’s eBay comc a a card show a flea Mar whatever the case may be okay and to you everything looks great all legit all the t’s are crossed eyes are dotted okay but then uh in this particular case okay we’re going to use eBay for example anything above I believe it’s 300 bucks it’s got to go through authentication process regardless if it’s slapped makes no sense but that’s just the it is eBay gets their hands on it they bless off on it okay they send it back to you for some reason you decide you want to go ahead and and and send it up to PSA for whatever reason then you get that email that says that you know they’re sorry to inform you but that particular card the serial number for that card is no longer active and you will not find it on the population report so basically it doesn’t exist what are your thoughts on that one um I like how they do deactivate and sometimes they will reactivate once they find that hey who’s here’s the guard card be graded here’s the owner’s account this is a real card this is the fake card um but in this case well well some cases that we’ve seen in the past it’s we graded a fake card or this is a fake slab so there’s there’s two things here um I do like both that they will deactivate something and it will freak someone out like me that owns their cards so for vintage a long time ago a lot of the forums that we would go on people would take a slab and they would actually white out with their photo editor or scribble with their stylist on their phone and they would actually cross it out or people would actually make a a sleeve to go over their slabs show the card but they would block out the information because they don’t want to share the CT number on their valuable card that they’ve got in a safety deposit box or on the shelf or whatever so because because this is what happens right here I mean but again anybody can go and just look up a pop on any card and pull up any shirt number and and see the card on their site so that’s the trouble it’s like damned if you do and you know how that thing goes I scammers are gonna scan that’s just let they definitely are and kind of like what you said you know you’re not going to see a lot of these scammers put this much effort into a uh a Bobby whip base base car from Flagship yeah that’s worth 30 40 bucks or what whatever um not yet but no let’s hope it doesn’t get get again this is a very very low pop card I don’t know if it’s maybe in the 20s I haven’t checked this in years but it’s card of that I could never afford in that price um right these guys are trying to do it with with big dollar cards and get stuff by um people with money and more money than education definitely or even a care even a care to check I mean I don’t care who you are because people can get a card and hey I got this in the trade I know you’re legit but if you’re spending 300 bucks at a show or $100 whatever your your savings is we all have the phones there’s a free app it doesn’t cost anything you can literally you don’t even need the app you just take a photo of the back I I use my dad’s phone to test it because he got some Comics grad just take a photo scan your photo your camera right over the back of that code on the back um QR code and it pulls it right up it asks you do you want to go to the PSA site you hit yes and boom there’s your card right so comics cards um it’s great PSA site is awesome for that just hover your camera right over the back of any slab it’ll take you right to that item and then then you know it’s legit yeah and also look at the card in the slab too because you may see a card that’s a nine and it’s a Val a valuable card and you’re going wait a minute this isn’t the picture but this is the slab right that’s what you need to pay attention to so so in this case we had an individual who picked up a Tiffany 19 1986 tops traded Barry Bonds rookie card PSA 5 okay the big thing is it’s Tiffany went through all the process and you got this big old eBay sticker proven that it was authenticated but then somehow PSA got word of it or got their hands on it and they completely deactivated it and and those stickers mind you I I get that it’s it’s one of those layered stickers where when you peel it certain dots are left in that silver ribbon there yep because we’ve all I most of us gotten those or seen them um that stuff can be faked I mean they’re fakeing everything clothes purses tags doesn’t matter it looks identical to the stuff unless you’re an expert yep same thing here they’re finding a way yeah so I went to Tiffany Card’s website because I guess whoever is operating or running this website knows the ins and outs of Tiffany cards through so I went ahead and pulled up one of their their uh things here how do identify tops Tiffany card and uh if you don’t mind Ary I’m gonna walk I’m G use you as a test dummy to go through it just to see how easy it is to fake it or whatever the case may be all right so step one select the year we got the year 86 all right so step two select the card stock which one you want to go gray or white uh the white all right so we’re going to go white all right now select the type set is it going to be base or is it going to be traded uh let’s go trade it all right confirmation markings look at the back of your card find the small print copy info on the bottom does it have two asterisks on the bottom left of the card select the card below so we’re going to go with the the two asterisks I’m sorry you have an 86 tops traded card I like how it says I’m sorry your card’s not what you thought it was or you didn’t pick the valuable one yeah that’s correct yeah and this like we call them stars and a lot of that is um just a piggyback off of this uh on the Vintage side so a lot of guys will look at a rack pack and say hey that card should not be with this in this cell with this with the sheet because the back of the cards will actually have the sheet numbers where they’ll have a star there and the letter typically and a lot of times guys will pull up a picture of the actual sheet from let’s say 79 tops and they’ll say this card should not be in this cell with this card on the back here because this card doesn’t belong in that sheet so there’s no way this is real and that’s how they identify a lot of cell packs that are faked and resealed stuff that’s like clear windows like a rack pack so yeah that this is a a huge tell terms of printing on step four the clear indicator if you do or do not have an authentic Tiffany card it does it the true Tiffany do not have no asterisks so if we click on it congratulations you got a Tiffany card yeah or or a really good faked one you know yes glossy fronts are the are the dead giveaway but a lot of times too you know I think Tom said you know with the glossy that is correct but keep in mind sometimes these cards are open out of those sets and can gloss wear down it’s it’s unlikely has it happened in the past yes because I’ve seen cards that are more glossy I’ve seen brand new Factory sets open from 1987 that look like they just got a a mist of gloss on them and then some have a real nice smooth finish where it’s like this thing looks like it was dipped in clear code like it was coded and again it’s still legit set it’s just the the sheen is a little bit different um and we’ve all opened up flag Shi here’s a stack of 2020 we’ve opened up packs and go man this is really nice and smooth and we’ve opened up another box and go well these are a little rough and and that’s just a printing you know variation not nothing that’s noted but it’s just a a small subtle thing that you can uh uh find across the years yeah yeah I mean so in the future uh if you are looking to get into something that is highly sought after you know your Tiffany cards uh the Desert Storm cards T 206s big names from the 50s and 60s make sure if you’re not an expert get an expert opinion and I know there the term expert in the hobby is used very Loosely but do your due diligence in making sure you know what you’re spending your hard-earned money on yeah uh Dom or sorry Orlando says I have the Tiffany sets from 86 to 90 he did a video last year showing the differences so I said Orlando if you don’t mind if you uh can go back to your main page and just click the share button and drop that link in there and it’d be nice to check that out for some of people in the chat definitely definitely all right so yeah just basically cya cover your ass that’s all cover your ass when you’re spending money basic is that’s it you know because I would hate in there and we hate to yeah it sucks getting scammed or getting something stolen or losing money and you know I would hate to see somebody who saved up for months on end just enough to get that Tiffany card they want they send it off the grade and next thing you know it doesn’t get graded because it’s fake well this brings a point with you just said this opens your eyes for everything it whatever your budget is I’m not saying to go out and check every $20 PSA slab but even if it’s someone you know and you trust there’s a good chance that they trusted someone and they got burned it doesn’t mean they’re trying to burn you but but but do your own homework because we all see the posts uh well he should have done this he should have done that just just do your job and things will work out yeah never rely on firstperson sources yeah get espe especially when it’s so easy to just scan the back of a card and at a show and and take it from there as weird as it sounds when I go by looking for high-end stuff like that I kind of use the same Principle as when it comes to my health do I just want to go with the first opinion oh you got cancer oh damn that sucks yeah you know I mean get a second opinion third fourth whatever it a lot of time again this doesn’t mean that there’s not cheap cards out there that are fraudulent this is just the ones that get attention because there’s so much money co-host yes that’s side note if anyone’s interested contact us after the show So speaking of burn there’s a company right now that grades cards for a living that is currently on life supp well they were on life support let me let me rephrase that okay and I say that because they are now officially Under New Management so this came out on the 17th longtime Grading Company Becket has a new owner after purchase by Hobby company now a lot of you are probably wondering who the hell would pick up Becket well I’m GNA that’s why I’m here to tell you so the company is called collectivist okay and I don’t know who they are but for those who are into TCG Yu-Gi-Oh Pokemon lurana you name it they get themselves into it and they’re known for a specific brand of TCG I don’t remember which one it was but Dragon shield that’s what it was all right and then they took the Becket website and put it under their uh umbrella so you got the regular Becket plus collectivist right on top so basically um they are now a part of the collective collectivist umbrella and according to the new CEO of this company they don’t plan on changing anything about Becket with the exception of management probably protocol policy things of that nature you know typical stuff probably stuff that needed to be changed correct and uh if we don’t know the the previous CEO Greg Lindberg he actually plad guilty to insurance fraud last month so yeah he had no choice too he had no choice you know he had to go out now what I did find interesting was two days after this article was released there was something also that showed that um that company got a helping hand so the new Becka parent company got $250 million in financing from King capital okay now you probably wondering who’s King Capital well King Capital happens to be [Music] a in investment firm okay and basically they are a global investment platform across assets classes spanning public and private markets and they’re actually based out of New York City okay okay so with the $250 million that they are giving to collectivist apparently that money is going to be used for generalized financing of operations whether that would be uh uh uh onboard expansion yeah expansion marketing yeah Ian so they’re in Texas right is that I believe they’re in Texas no I uh collect is in Texas yes collect yeah sorry in Texas but the the this company here King Street they’re actually based out of uh New York okay and it’s actually a team and if you look here they got one two three four five eight n 11 different partners who cost up this quarter of a million quarter of a billion dollars M okay so I mean what does this tell us about what they’re gonna do with Becket not much okay because I mean with $250 million and I said this previously it’s a lot of money not gonna lie how you’re gonna spend it is the other question well we’re on the internet we’re experts so we’ll figure it out you know I don’t know I I mean it’s good I I don’t care I don’t I I own Becka slabs um like everyone else buy the card not the grade right observe the grade um get your best Your Best Buy whether it’s SGC or whatever your price point is look at all three of those bigger companies um and then look at the card um and if you’re saving for a big card the only thing I can tell people for advice is be patient get it at a show use cash uh whether it’s cash app or cash in hand um or even trade whatever it is because you lose so much money on these these auctions and these um eBay sales where you’re paying taxes on a card that’s been you know tax 20 times with the money that’s been handed down to your great-grandfather that card is 100 years old and you’re trying to buy it for $1,000 you’re going to spend another 100 plus in taxes and fees just to acquire that same card where you can probably get that card for 9950 cash at a show and then shake your hands with a dealer and then build a relationship so I know it’s not available for everybody to do because where they live I get that there’s no shows but if you have the ability to try to buy stuff in person the card compare the card here’s the worst case uh uh uh question in in hand suppose King Street never forked up the $250 million right yeah at what point or would you be able to foresee Becket going down the same Rabbit Hole or being treated just like Isa GSA grading those real lowend grad companies I don’t I don’t think that would go to that because becket’s always been one of the top dogs and I think we talked before the uh show started the one topic that I think is really good that you let into is six seven eight years ago Becket was the top dog it wasn’t PSA now we’re only talking modern cards um the brand new Bowman stuff all those guys that are in The Bowman called The Bowman game for Bowman Bowman Cowman Bowman Draft all three releases every year all that real Ultra Modern stuff um would all be in Becket primarily it’s in becket’s lab and a lot of it still is today yeah we’re seeing a shift and we see the overall growth of PSA and the big giant then acquiring SGC we get all that but Becka is no slouch of a company so um going back to that or getting down to that level no I don’t think it’ll ever get to that level because I think they would either get acquired uh or just dissolve the company and go under um because that’s been the the the term sinking ship for the last what year we’re in December now right you can see videos all over the Internet that have covered that but I look at $250 million and people willing to invest they see something that we don’t know let’s be honest we’ve been waiting for them to fail and collapse for the past year plus they haven’t done it yet it tells me they’re still profitable yeah they make mistakes they’re doing all these different things but a company that’s still lingering and able to generate 250 million on a sinking ship is yeah there’s more to the story with 250 million makes me wonder did collectivists uh drop a uh submit an application to appear on Shark Tank and Pitch Beck it to them yeah Kevin or or dropped the drop a little bit of cash I yeah I don’t know it’s funny though but so that’s what we’re working with right now as more information on this uh new acquirement happens uh I’ll be sure to bring it up to everybody and um we all get to learn a little something together and I’ll say this I’ll end with this on this topic keep in mind guys I personally own some cards and they they give a fair grade um I know people post one card and say oh they suck it’s it’s it’s the French Vibe one bad order of fries from McDonald’s where they they sell millions a month or a day a week and you know you get the publicity for the bad one but no one talks about hey I paid for this I got what I paid for and I’m happy we never hear that story that’s just not how life goes these days with the internet so just be just look at the card you want try to get the best deal and and do your research but stick with those three companies and I think you’ll be okay that’s a good question Dom how much was Becket sold for that who knows um you know but I do know there’s been some videos out there the current CEO of Becket under the new management was a previous CEO in the past so why he left don’t know but yeah if he must have came back for a reason okay so again we’ll just wait to see how this plays out and we’ll go from there but uh other than that some other news that we could just touch real quick on so the home run the Grand Slam ball that Freddy Freeman hit in game one it sold for 1.5 million bucks yeah I I was surprised about that what do you think that’s what does the chat think that’s a lot of cash considering other Baseballs in the hobby this wasn’t a game seven walk-off this was a what was that game one two game one off of yeah that’s it’s a little much but hey you know times are different now it really is it’s like you could put a six figure price tag on almost anything that players affiliated with let me let me add one to that and I’m not knocking on Judge because I I think judge is great I I I think he’s great I think he does great things for the yeah we’re that just put but I I can’t even talk we’re absolutely insane this this this world is insane this is what we’re doing really what is that a it’s like a personal troll on Aaron judge like listen we we understand that guy he’s not as clutch as we would like him to be right Tom hit right on the head yeah 46,000 okay this is when we’re we’re sick we have too much money we’re was that a troll on Aaron judge oh my god let’s highlight one bad thing he did yeah and he didn’t play as great offensively and he dropped one ball yeah what about all the stuff he did this year what about the stuff staying in New York what about all the stuff he does off the field I mean won an MVP for for p it’s like my God the these these people in this world will find anything to attack someone that has like a Flawless record and is just a good person it’s been over it’s been over 10 years 15 years since the Yankees appeared in the World Series yeah and this is a whole new breed of Yankees yeah and keep in mind it wasn’t you can look at any player no single player blows that um you know the the team gets you to game seven and one guy makes a bad play no that guy also got you through those years the playoffs and then to game seven so you can’t just discount a guy for playing great and it was all him or discount a guy for playing bad and it was like see what he did that’s just too easy to to to go to the scapegoat and say well look at Aaron judge he dropped that ball now because that happens you know what if that was a tie game and that would have taken it to the 10th and then it was game seven tied two to2 and then that two run scored and then boom game’s over or whatever it was a two nothing game and then threein gonna lie I am but hurt about that that game though you know I understand it was it was up five nothing I I expect you to be yeah 100% that whole inning just went down the drain yeah the same argument was made with um a friend of mine who’s and he’s a homer he’s a Cleveland Fan yeah but I’m so tired of this I’m so tired of that no we were there I don’t care if we’re spending one million a year or a billion a year and we have the highest payroll the Indians were there you’re in the game J RM hit better Naylor hit better you go down the list you’re there you can’t it’s it’s the ALCS the ALDS these aren’t teams that are bad these are good teams they made it and one team play better that’s how the sport works so I just don’t I just think it’s disgusting that people a have 46,000 to drop on that ball and B there’s a price on that ball like that to me I’ve never I’ve never heard of a of a dropped ball um the ball Buckner behind the bag was it 86 Mets or whatever I don’t even know if that ball exist uh did his glove sell for that uh his beding glove his uniform his cleats from that game this is a literally just a a game in a playoff a game in a series that’s a big series but 46,000 for a drop ball it wasn’t even game something or did something wrong to sell for that kind of money I’ve never seen it well loan said it best I mean there’s just people out there that just have way too much money that they know what they can do with you know I mean can we fault them no but now this is a a clearcut example of frivolous spending I mean there’s no really other way to put it normally people would buy historic things that are from a positive point but yet is that is that a is that a confirmed sale do we have like documentation some of these sales I just don’t know if they even are they real or is this just an article because I I still can’t gather how someone had 46,000 laying around to buy yeah I mean it’s actually going to look that up uh I don’t I just don’t remember that ball being available on one of the big auction houses and and it being promoted and advertised because 46k for a ball is a lot of money yeah it is it really is I mean it’s just I I I I don’t get it okay so here is the article on it so the drop ball sold by the MLB got 43.5 th000 an auction okay tell addad right now we have to see was this like a charity thing because now it would make a little bit more sense but still um I don’t even know if MLB themselves is the one who decided we’re gonna go ahead and sell it what they did with the money that’s another thing you know and who hates Aaron judge that much to to just be like hey this is a good spite move I gotta own this ball what what significance does this have it just what game was this was this game one not this is being petty in reality the ball was part of a large yearend auction organized by the league which included drop Fly ball by Aaron judge in its description of the item okay but it wasn’t an inscription on the ball no he didn’t sign it for like that would be in the face it would be but it’d be different if we found out it was for like a good cause you know what I mean but I I again who would want the get who want that ball hey eron you remember this sign this and put this on there so we can raise some money I’m sure somebody who lives in the great state of California would especially if they’re a Dodger fan yeah I mean you know but and even that though what do you need that for like what what do you what is the game oh I have this on hey check this out guys you’re you’re in man cave with a bunch of rich friends and hey check this out over here remember when Aaron judge dropped that like in a year from now or even six months from now people are gonna say no no I remember Otani having a great year and and hit a bunch of home runs but I don’t remember a dropped ball in the Outfield that’s another thing the the the 50th home run ball that Otani hit that’s sold in auction and that ball is no longer in the US yeah and I think that’s going to be displayed and you know whatever they have going on for for Otani in terms of Museum right now yeah so I mean it’s it listen it it would be great to have that ball is that ball GNA get passed around will it come back to Cooperstown or something in the future maybe but maybe not either way it’s it’s a part of History it’s something to talk about I think and like I said months I don’t think anyone’s going to remember this drop flyball or any details about it yeah but now moving on to a topic that is more on our level how many times have we got into breaks or we ripped a a a about sticker Autos in general um for me I’ll I’ll put the outlier out there even though I don’t like them I understand why there are sticker Autos is Chrome updates otherwise if I have my choice my wish list I I get that I’m a person of like I’m realistic I don’t like them but I’m also understanding that okay when they sign these cards and they get these contracts and they print these cards it’s way before update comes out so they have to do stickers um but in order to get those players into the product they do the sticker format now when you talk about that real nice product like we were just mentioning um triple threads um Museum collection luminaries there is no reason any of those cards should be just imagine like these Hall of Famers like there was a a triple pool the other night I watched it was uh M it was a brew three Brewers it was Moler Robin Y and then someone else yeah there was actually a slab with five Hall of Famers one yeah exactly and like there’s stickers I’m thinking to myself these guys are all sitting around on a couch watching the football game right now like what why can’t what is the deal here what there’s no reason for this and again hey you know what you’re getting so don’t be surprised so I really don’t complain when you know what’s here like this is what they’ve been doing for 15 years um now if you buy a product like oh my God I I started buying Heritage um you know for for whatever hundred bucks a box and I I got my my One auto I got lucky instead of a relic and it’s it’s not on card anymore it’s a sticker that would certainly tarnish that product and make those other ones a little more valuable but it would also just ruin the product for me because I enjoy that product at at Value it’s it’s the on-card Autos new players to Old players I love the onart I love the fact they held the cart so and I you know what I’m sure every everybody who is sitting in here with us now and who’s going to watch this later on and probably folks who are in The Hobby in general agree wholeheartedly what what you said yeah but if you pull one out of a pack you only bought for $10 or got into a break for 40 bucks and you pull $1,000 card you’re loving that card I don’t care sticker or not that’s awesome like that’s different but I think everybody loves the fact that it’s on card just don’t change it on us without letting us know that’s all I know like I mean that’s true it’s to a point right now where do we all know who net Turner is I think everybody pretty much has a he Happ to be the CEO of PSA okay and he dropped a comment on X on the 18th that says putting a sticker Auto on a one1 card should be mandatory jail time I love it he’s got a big big platform a big voice he’s a massive collector if you ever look at his channel he’s he has a beautiful collect he’s got some of the best vintage 90s stuff vintage wax boxes from the 60s and 70s I think he’s got some of the only the highest graded Hank garon 54 rookie I think he’s got the highest graded um I think he’s got a 54 C box maybe the only one and his his wall display with his glass cabinet and racks in the back just zoom in on your camera your TV or whatever and and take a look but it’s great to have a guy like him that that sold a company for what 3 .2 billion or 2.8 billion whatever it was it was a lot is and then he he said you know what I’m gonna do something fun he’s always had has his kid he’s Tak K his kids around to shows and shops and he’s out there um you know and a lot of people right away just attack him for 20 some years of psa’s mishaps because he’s cards we all like to open packs it’s not feasible for a lot of people you get a card out of a retail pack or in a break or whatever it is it just feels good and you do change your mind once you have that card and you’re not ownership of that card we’re talking about hypotheticals here where it’s like these are these are four to800 to thousand plus boxes these aren’t $250 boxes these aren’t $80 boxes good point loan yeah but here’s the thing loan keep in mind I think a lot of this where it it it it turned to being accepted as the newer products right they don’t they can do this with these chics um here’s the here’s the flagship Bowman here’s the flagship top stuff it’s already printed we know what we’re doing we’re doing three releases a year it’s first series second series update and then we’re doing Bowman Bowman Chrome and Bowman draft now everything after that started being added whether it was luminaries whether it was black gold or tops gold or Tops This or tops whatever you name it I think all these other ones that are being added over the years they found an easier way to do these where they don’t have to send a rep they don’t have to send cards um valuable cards and send them to people and then have a representative that’s Regional or local or a meet and greet type of deal where they used to put stickers on the back of cards back in the 90s in early 2000s you get some of those top certified there’s actually a hologram on the back that’s adhered to the actual card and then the autograph is on the front that’s how tops used to do things as well and a lot of people didn’t like extra things on cards where you know daming them with the redemptions yeah five six years ago I would have hated it because the Redemption process sucked back then but now it’s come yeah full full on did a 180 turn turnar around well I will say that’s a a bright spot for for Fanatics and I’ve I I’m one of those guys that will definitely bash someone when it’s it’s warranted not bashing but just point out the fact that Hey listen this is garbage but I’ve sent cards for damages and redemptions many many years ago Fanatics has done a complete 180 and a 100 plus perc job Improvement maybe even more than that it’s just they’ve improved drastically it’s great and those two areas if they just continue to take that type of change with all this other stuff things will be okay and exactly so uh I did post a comment in reply to Dom because his issue was the expiration dates and the waiting but again as of recent they’ve cut the wait time more than half and they’ve expanded the expiration from two years to 10 years so I mean kudos to Fanatics for that yeah and that’s that’s a lot of players that you know people that stash wax boxes and and have stuff on the shelf that helps um but you know it’s uh it’s definitely it’s definitely a good thing so I do like the fact that we have $250 million being pumped into the the grading space um we have net Turner not afraid to speak out which he’s he’s done in the past not afraid to say things like that where hey I get it you’re telling me you can’t please like that one C that Lebron and uh who’s it LeBron it’s um um who’s the kid uh Steph Curry and then um the other tall guy that switched to the Warriors now he’s over at Brooklyn I can’t think of his name the three guys Wy no the three the three cards that Olympic Card that’s supposed to be like oh oh oh and KD I think it is in KD people were saying like if that has three stickers and you can’t get these these guys hang out all the time like you can’t SE this thing three times in three days overnight for 30 bucks a pop to make this card travel I mean hey LeBron I need you to video this and send me the file and sign the card have someone hold the phone done there’s the video file it’s too easy there’s there’s no reason for it but again he’s making a point go back to that comment what card was that about what topic was that on is it any one of one or was this just something about sticker he just wrote it he just wrote it in in generality I bet you he pulled a one of one and it was a sticker and he goes damn it why is that could you know what I’m almost positive that probably what happened was probably ripping some cards with his kids and he pulled a oneone scker auto 67 comments right there does it show anything under his name yeah see if there’s anything on the comments can we see like what that was all about okay there’s an example Tom Brady sticker Auto Turkish prison sticker autos on highend should be parole for 18 months oh that’s right okay I see where this is going all right yeah to this yeah straight to jail that’s a good one yeah agreed yeah but again that’s that’s that’s that’s an update product so for me I’m not I would basically put a comment and say hey update has always been this way because this is when they sign those cards and this product’s already printed and by the time we get around to see who’s even in update that there’s your issue so that that that one that was Bobby Wht and it’s an update it’s been that way since the beginning of updates in early days you know we’re talking a dozen years ago so I’m okay with that because we know that product now when you start changing it and then you start releasing thousand boxes with stickers everywhere of guys that are literally at home right now doing nothing they’ve been out of baseball for 20 years that’s a big no no straight to jail yeah and then fire uh uh Beast overhead you know he’s got a Redemption at Panini since 2020 well that’s we’re talking about two different things it’s Panini and I’m GNA tell you right now Panini gets in trouble for a guy saying wait a minute here’s my phone there’s a $25,000 logo man that I have a Redemption for it’s in my account and it’s at this show and I’m looking at it in this case because my friend told me about it it was what two years ago at the Dallas card show it was a uh lamelo ball the guy’s been waiting for the card forever so what Panini does and I’m I’ll go on a limb and say this here I have no problem with someone sending me a cease and desist letter but um they basically sent those emails would you like a replacement would you like Panini points would you like this it’s only on those big dollar cards the popular names because they will manipulate that and wait for that to expire or wait for you to give in and then basically say here’s some points here’s some garbage and they take those cards and then they’re being flipped and sold and out to Market months later it’s like guys we’re gonna figure this out we have the internet could say better than yet unfortunately Beast I feel your pay man it’s Panini um you know yeah so here’s a positive that’s happened in baseball okay and I’m glad to see that a lot of people that’s been around the sport forever is starting to voice their their opinions about the steroid era they’re starting to say for the for the lack of better terms we’re going to go ahead and put this behind us so recently and too bad Maddie ice is not here because because this actually kind of applies to his favorite team so couple of days ago Sammy Sosa decided to write an apology letter to the fans and everybody from the Chicago Cubs and that letter actually was replied to by ownership and basically uh he justified what this is the letter that he wrote okay everything that he did regardless of the nature of his decisions he basically stated I did it for the the ultimate goal of winning and I did it for the fans okay so he wrote this letter and then shortly after the management of um the Cubs actually responded to that letter and basically said they accepted his apology and they’re actually going to start inviting uh Sammy SSA to any events held by the uh the Cubs beginning 2025 I mean listen people aren’t perfect it’s easy to bash right away and and dig on them and you know and go at somebody um and kick them when they’re down or whatever it is or kick them when they’re up which we’ve seen life’s short man like it’s it’s baseball it’s it really is everybody who’s still harping on what happened 20 30 40 years ago and you’re still disgruntled about it that’s baby mama syndrome yeah I guess I guess like anything else like I’m a baseball Pier I love the fact that it’s this it’s that you know I’d love to have Pete Rose and all these other guys in and but the reality is you broke the rules so be it but still enjoy the game the fact that listen no one’s saying that he’s not the greatest he’s not the hit King we’re not saying that Samy supposed didn’t crush a bunch of home runs and it wasn’t awesome I don’t think anyone’s saying that I just think that it’s the hot button it’s easy talk about the negative stuff and that’s it pretty much so glad to see that people are starting to be more receptive to those that were actually a part of that whole Mitch report and the scandal with the Peds so moving on from that uh okay so for those of you who actually have been tuning into the podcast back in the era of both Adrian and I there was a specific story that we covered uh regarding thievery of cards valued at about $2 million from a hotel that was hosting a memory lane auction okay so basically the individuals who went through the criminal justice process they were found guilty and now they’re getting about they’re getting four to six years in prison for stealing $2 million okay and here’s the pictures of both gentlemen now mind you throughout this whole investigation the whole uh legal process there was still two cards that have not been accounted for and those two cards happens to be the t24 ramley Walter Johnson and then the 1941 playball Teddy Williams no idea where those cards are at those cards are still being actively sought after that rambley is an extremely rare card the playball not as rare but that’s a very nice highgrade copy but the the other one correct very rare you know and these are just some of the cards that were actually uh stolen because they did when we first broke this story out it was a total of 54 total cards in general and you know the the cards that was actually stolen I’m just like wow we’re talking about t206 is okay so here’s some items that were actually a part of that box 14 rare Cracker Jack cards numerous t206 cards some other cards from the 1114 bruners Bread cards uh set early exhibits and high grades of manto and Clemente just to name a few okay so I mean yeah I’d like to add a quick thing just this points out where whenever we hear these stories not saying that people in the chat do that but just a general observation just be patient let things play out right away it was insurance job they’re a scam company they did this they did that it was none of that the guy didn’t even know what he stole he was getting one was getting fired the other guy quit and they grabbed the box and package they had no idea what was inside no idea the contents so I think that’s why the sentence in my opinion is four to six years versus this plus they got all the cards back but two so that played a lot into it vers is hey they stole $2 million worth of stuff versus stealing $2 million in cash and they have no money left because they spent it and that’s the thing I mean I’m glad that these two were caught you know they’re being held accountable for their actions how they’re being accounted for is my issue and we talked about this before the show started it’s like it’s one thing if I was to go into a Bank of America in the Ohio area and steal $2 million versus stealing $2 million in cards I’m I’m gonna rot in jail for robbing that bank but guys getap on the bank I think it’s 10 years you get that’s why a lot of people will you know you see people that steal and rob a bunch of convenience stores or they go from busines to business you’ll you could Rob 20 of those and do less time than if you stole you know 5,000 and robbed One Bank yeah you know so yeah it’s and again listen the whole criminal justice system is in not in just Ohio because I’m in Ohio and I knew relatively no people that know of these people and then I’ll leave it at that um these are from my guys from my neighborhood where I grew up and uh right when that happened I said wellow it’s in Strongville they’ve got nothing better to do it’s a suburb outside of Cleveland and it’s a nice suburb and those guys are bored they just do traffic tickets that’s about it maybe an accident once in a while but they’re G to be on this in two weeks with through three days they caught him I think it was it was within that first week because they again didn’t know what they had but it doesn’t excuse them so a lot of people like frin in the chat saying well only four to six I’m surprised they got that much honestly because again they got everything back this was a guy working a job that just was disgruntled and left and snagged the Box on his way out I mean if I’m not mistaken I think the guy I think one of the culas was actually an employee of that hotel yeah yeah I think I think and the one is a relative of of the guy that did it yeah because we Orlando if you remember in the chat we were actually at the trade night at that hotel [Music] room it’s crazy you know I mean but again glad to see that there’s there’s account accountability being implemented um hopefully individuals going forward who even begin to ponder making some type of gesture on stealing something that don’t belong to them you know they could look back on this situation and be like you know what I’m not going to do it because they could probably be in one of those states where the penalties are a lot worse yeah yeah that’s true and I think we we see that we can look at everything like this guy got off on manslaughter but he still you know did you know what to somebody um and you go wow you only got this many years it happens all the time but yeah this is the bottom line is people are being held accountable whether it’s a small thing or a big thing or misdemeanor a fine being caught period where the guy that stole some cards and was Miss scanning at Walmart and then whatever any of those stories are great when people get caught because the hobby is not the reason these people are stealing this stuff um it’s it’s what they’re doing in their life currently is why this happened and they just need to get on a better path poses a question to our resident ohioan no they do not and I don’t I don’t think anywhere else does other than California with a check California has a three strike Rule and New York does yeah so but that’s that’s that’s that’s well above the Realms of the hobby that’s those two cards was the finder Fe Adam that’s funny oh terrible no comment okay so moving right along so we got another huge event coming up in January okay we did the classic era Hall of Fame uh selection and and we got two deserving individuals being that were selected for induction into the Hall of Fame okay Dave Parker and uh Dick Allen now we have information on a prediction for the upcoming actual baseball writers association of America um voting and I’d love to see what the chat would uh their opinions are about what you’re about to see so right now we are predicting Ichiro unanimous I agree he should be CCE is gonna probably miss unanimous by maybe three to four votes Billy Wagner it’s his last year I’m sure he’s gonna get in but then we got all this and then these are everybody who’s going to be cut from the list for future consideration so what are we thinking Lin what you think about the uh predictions my only uh question is the bottom three below that green really just two of them uh which would be beltron and Jones Okay Jones just doesn’t get enough Jones is one of the best fielders out there that we’ve ever seen so I’d like Jones to be I I I hope Jones gets in quick so um but yeah I agree with everything you said there um you know and I think the the Hall of Fame is Falls victim to people on the list in the Hall of Fame voting fall victim to the uh eligibility time this guy was eligible when I was eligible so I got squeezed out based on that which to me that that’s just not a reason for not being on this list longer or you know that’s probably the only I if I was able to pick one thing to tweak it would be that okay so according to Lo in Ichiro and Wagner are the only locks not sure if anyone else gets in wow no love for CeCe huh yeah CC I mean cc is a legend yeah and I’m a this how do we know that anybody who is currently in the Hall of Fame right now has stumbled upon some type of substance that M Mo frowned upon at one point or another but yet they’re in you know I mean again with A-Rod you take away a third of his resume he’s still a lock for Hall of Fame in my opinion yeah keep keep in mind I think I think that’s a great point and and all of these have some good points um one thing I’ll point out though when you’re bringing up a list of the top players that are not in the Hall of Fame I I guess I don’t like this part I’m over here with my cursor that no one can see but I’m I’m pointing out the second line of that number one there under A- rod 714 Albert pools when you say things like that I don’t like this part of the hobby or this part of writing and the media because you’re just trying to do that to make a better point but the reality is the whole entire world knows that Albert phos when it’s time to get in he’s going to get in I think this letter serves better is off to a better start without that being said because talking about guys that are that are quote unquote A-Rod and bonds uhhuh being steroid users and then you bring up someone that’s not in yet but he’s not in yet because of just the exactly it has nothing to do with anything in this topic that’s what I that’s where articles like this I get upset they lose me I I have no interest in here’s the thing though AR I mean it kind of makes sense you’ve got four top five home run hitters in the 700 home run Club yeah so it kind of It kind of fits I guess I guess I was looking class of Third Base higher average voting percentage again it’s based on who is of eligible while you’re being eligible yourself that’s not crime against you in your game yeah so a lot of these guys should just be in because they’re in like this voting process is ridiculous you’re a Hall of Famer as soon as you retire or you’re not that’s how I see the hall of fame um I think it’s just a job and a a club and a click and a popularity thing for all these writers because they would have nothing to do if we didn’t vote on the the Hall of Fame either your stats are in or you’re out what’s changing in 20 years what took Fred McGriff that long to get in what took anybody that long to get in he left it all on the field he played great and that’s it if it has to do with nothing but baseball as soon as you retire all right we’re going to vote and let you know if you’re in all right your ceremonies next year you’re in you’re out you’re in you’re out done and I love how he ended his statement writers are still a gr group a good group to do this voting the era committees have improved with many wrongs writed in recent years there are still many Legend there are still missing Legends there are still plaques that should be yanked off the wall which tells me that there’s people that are not deserving of uh enshrinement but bottom line is there is an all struck patrons in the gallery whenever you walk through the Hall of Fame so I mean to me this tells me based off of what he’s saying we need to stop holding stuff over people’s heads after they’re they’ve been out of the game for years upon years and let’s move on let’s look at you’re 100% right how you get these other writers to do the same thing it’s so tough it’s it’s just like we can sit here and bump heads on difference of opinions on any topic with anybody in the chat me and you Mike whoever y it’s hard it’s hard to get people to agree on the same thing collectively for the majority so I just don’t I guess for me I these got here’s the problem I have with this it’s hard for the mind to see something go we’ll get him next time because there’s seven more years for his of Eligibility we got to get this vote for this guy now that does play into it it’s impossible for anyone to believe that it doesn’t it’s impossible for me to believe that that’s why I think the Hall of Fame voting should be completely different you’re either a Hall of Famer or you’re not this whole drawn out you know process of eight years and I I didn’t get in because this guy was uh above me and I had five other Hall of Famer for eight straight years that were better than me but I was just as good as the other 90% of the league that’s kind of like the guys that are getting in now like the Cobra so so back in 74 he was a rookie when he retired was he not a Hall of Famer then it took this many years later for him to get in the Hall of Fame I don’t believe that I just I don’t buy it you’re either eligible or you’re not and everything in between to me is garbage I personally believe the voting committee should not be left to youngsters especially those that were either too young to know about baseball in the 90s or they just wasn’t even born at that period you know again we’re talking about we’re talking about stuff that I think I brought up migy Cabrera like I got to watch that guy play several times many times probably over a dozen just because he played in Cleveland a lot against you know the Indians but I took it all for granted I never look at and go man this guy’s never going to play again but it’s like you look it back and like man this guy was amazing yeah I think that’s just more more focus on the game more focus on the sport more focus on the cards I’m I don’t want to hear any of the I don’t want to hear it anymore I just want to enjoy the game I want to enjoy these players you know these guys are amazing these guys are legends these are the guys that we collect vintage cards of we never got to see play and here we have Mike Trout p hle and guys playing right before our eyes doing it’s it’s it’s it’s insane I mean something needs to be done I mean it would be nice to have fan feedback since you do have one of your best players that you do PC is on this list he’s the number one topic outside of bonds he’s number two one a one B would you be okay with an aster or another section not a section but just an aster wherever they Place him in just he’s in the Hall of Fame that’s all that matters gotcha and I agree with that I’m fine with that you know because I mean the number six home run King on the list is Willie Maids with 660 and A- rods beat him his his record by 36 home runs you know and there’s records that A-Rod has that will likely not be broken for quite some time like he holds the record for the most uh uh Grand Slams with 25 I don’t see nobody breaking that anytime soon does the chat feel the same way do you guys feel about uh would you be okay with uh a player even if you don’t PC them or you don’t collect them or watch them would you be okay with them in the Hall of Fame but just a write up or or some some documentation of the [Music] series me personally uh Beast I I believe Clemens should be in the Hall of Fame also I mean the man’s got seven Sai Young Awards there’s there there’s really the ex same thing with him take a third of his his resume he didn’t need it he was he was so good without all of it he was already all of Famer when he used steroids he Hall of Famer first ballot when he got when he started using steroids he was already Hall of Famer period exactly and that’s the frustrating part for me as a purist that I agree like these guys didn’t need to do that but I understand the business the game and that side of it bonds was amazing AA was amazing all these guys didn’t need to touch any of that stuff to be Hall of Famers but that’s not the argument here the argument is do just put him in put an ASC not put him in a separate part of the hall you don’t need to redesign a building just put a write up about it um something they’re part be a oneliner you know part of this aser has been tied to the steroid era from the 90s yes you to go through just a few that I’ve noticed and I’m sure people in the chat will chime in with some new ones so for example we have had uh Christen Walker he is now a part of the Houston Astros Organization three years $60 million okay so shout out to uh sha there for having a a a big piece going into uh the Astros I’m pretty sure you’re you’re somewhat happy about it then we had um who was some other big names that came in let me see oh the Guardians well the Indians they picked up Carlos Santana Oney year12 million deal okay that’s another big bat then we have uh the Diamondbacks they picked up Josh Naylor I don’t know if that’s good bad whatever okay but it is what it is yep the Yankees did pick up Goldie for a year that is awesome glad to see that we actually have uh a reputable uh first baseman now uh we also picked up leaza for another year so he’s gonna be a vital asset to our uh our Bullpen um Travino ended up going to the Reds okay I mean he was he was a backup to higashioka so did the Yankees really lose anything not so much um but there was one transaction that I found kind of funny that I wanted to share with everybody so Nolan Aron had a had a uh trade proposal offered to him and he turned it down with the Astros M okay which is interesting I don’t know what was the reason for the denial but I mean how do how does ownership on both sides you know feel about a player basically saying nope I don’t want to go there I guess the the easy to go to would be the the the cheating scandal the history behind the as or the the non- love for that team right but it it also could have to do with the city state okay could have to deal with that it also could deal with what type of deal was it um and then like the bottom paragraph there next to that hockey rumors Arrow Arrow it says the uncertainty with uh Alex bregman so yeah with Alex bregman we don’t know what’s gonna happen so um Sean is I don’t know if Sean’s in the chat but Sean obviously being a big fan um and and keep in mind these guys are on the tail end of their career these guys aren’t on their second and third deal uh you know awaiting with a a nice second or third rookie season these guys are basically looking for that final deal so um and I get it the Cardinals look like they’re just trying to get a lot younger right now so it’s it’s easy to speculate with this stuff um it can go in a bunch of different directions with speculation I mean if I’m not mistaken the last time somebody went through this kind of scenario was Manny Machado was it not yeah if you want to post Beast comment there his wife oh hell no not the Astros yeah listen man these guys are established players these guys uh just Eclipse a 300 home run Mark um he’s probably at 330 350 or something like that uh for clarity and not fake news oh oh okay yeah still there contract okay um but yeah back to this contract here with or this deal with Aeron I think a lot of it has to do with stuff that we don’t know stuff that we’re not you know okay so this comment makes sense this comment makes a lot of sense from loing they were they lost Tucker they lost bregman and didn’t have Walker at the time Pete Alonzo was for sure because they had to make a big splash and they just needed those home runs back because outside of that you know you don’t have a ton of Walks from him you do have more strikeouts with Alonzo but it would cost them a lot more money I as as a as a non- Yankee fan I think great move for the Yankees because you get a experienced player you get all of that good Clubhouse stuff clean player meaning good in the clubhouse everybody loves him you never hear anything bad about him for rental money price and you can focus on all your prospects because the Yankees are pretty young right now surprised all around from their two of their three best pitchers now to pretty much their whole infield is all young except for you know Goldie I think Goldie will bring a you know yeah Goldie’s in his mid-30s yeah but was Goldie I don’t understand that deal was Goldie just like hey I’m gonna hang it up I’m done or I’ll play one year here no they prob I mean who who knows I mean stuff I love because I can go collect cheap dollar autos and five dollar cards with yeah a guy that nobody cares about now um I mean I’m isn’t that what you don’t you look for that too like you’re like go I gotta get some Goldies now I gotta get some gold and the Yankees definitely I wouldn’t mind picking up uh a nice uh uh parallel or two of them hell I’m not even digging for a rookie we talked about this before I don’t know how you guys do it chat but in the chat when you get a card or a player do you go out for their for their most recent cards their rookies or do you just wait for them I only want them in the team that I support for me it’s I gotta have the rookie I don’t care about everything in between and I want the first card and some parallels of them in my Cleveland seasons of his like his MVP Seasons World Series Seasons or whatever because you know the highend stuff is going to make some type of parallel Rel Auto commemorate commem can’t even say commemorating one of his highlights you know so I mean we all have our own little pet peeves when it comes to collecting but those are just some like okay like you said Arizona they picked up Josh Naylor also the Guardians uh picked up a right-handed pitcher Sone and a competitive balance and I’m going to assume round two draft pick not round B yeah yeah that’s what it sounds like so but um yeah and again it sucks as a as a as to lose lose players but on the short end we gain a young pitcher um we do have Bieber back for a year which again I I I talked through that that it’s not a long term but it’s it’s better than nothing so again that could change too because if if he start playing well and we have the money now and and we’re competing and Things fall into place you know with health of all the other players lot has to happen for teams too that is your prerogative D nobody’s knocking you for it but now the question lies with what’s gonna happen now with all these players that have yet to be picked up um here’s still have an abundance of talent still out there yeah I I think that a lot of these um um beast I think it’s I think one thing I I try not to to look too much at uh like an 0 And1 record obviously okay 0 and 10 what’s more surprising it’s it’s it’s it’s below five on his ER and he’s 0 and 10 that’s actually pretty good now when you look at that 0 And1 and you watch the guy pitch and you watch those 10 starts then you have that same opinion then I would I would agree with you but without that I I always like to say that’s a stat that is very misleading um but again I I get the eras um were those just games that were blown um you know had one bad inning after six strong Innings and they kept them in too long there’s so many factors with that beast but yeah $9 million um but he’s a healthy starter 9 million bucks for a healthy starter with you’re a fifth guy or a fourth it’s that’s cheap in today’s money so yeah definitely I mean like with all those players the money is is hard to understand and absorb here what we’re talking about he only made $9 million but yeah it’s that’s cheap for a starting picture I mean what I do find funny though with everything that’s happening in the off season not enough focus is being placed on a lot of these uh free agents that are still waiting to be picked up or extended if you will but yet we do that power’s going to change quickly once some of these deals start collapsing some of the bigger ones there’s not many guys left that are in that that double dig this is the flavor of the week this guy right here yeah he’s had a meeting with the Mets he’s had a meeting with the Yankees he’s had a meeting with the Cubs but yet everybody is talking about there is a possibility he might end up in Seattle yeah well there I heard I told I from me I only follow the Indians I’m like yeah Brian woo send them bring them over here like I’ll take a bring all these young rookie pictures that are show a little bit of promise if we can get them cheap enough um then that opens the door for more money for that stuff who knows we’ll see you know but it’s it’s interesting and again it’s this is the fun part you know can my team get him I know we’re out you know Cleveland’s out so I I really don’t follow this guy I know it’s going to be cool to see where he lands from a collecting standpoint um like Magnus said you know what’s this gonna cost me what team is he going to be on so when I get in the breaks I know how much I have to spend and that’s cool because he’s he’s collecting the player regardless of where he lands that’s another another caveat to the collecting side which is great he can’t wait for him to get here yep uh score Scot is hurting his players s last year bregman is unsigned yeah I mean there’s there there’s so there’s so much that’s that has been going on in the real world that will The Hobby in some shape or form and there’s some instances where it’s not going to hurt them at all like for example you know Juan stto yeah he may Lo he may have lost a a collecting Community out of New York maybe but uh well from the Bronx yeah if you and may and maybe maybe because of the the the hatred for the Mets if there is hatred or whatever the reason is but true fans of baseball like me like you we’re still going to collect the cards we’re not going to go actively buy them we’re going to buy our PC cards first but if I pull a card I may not trade that I’m gonna set that aside for now because this guy’s just fun to watch and he’s really really good and I have an opportunity to keep this card when I got for next to nothing in a break and it’s worth a lot of money let me just go ahead and hold on to this so I think you’re gonna find a lot of that’s G going to stay put I don’t think there’s going to be much change there but is the collector base bigger for the Mets than it is the Yankees that I don’t have the answer to that’s the for me if you look at sto’s base and chrome rookies you know his base has gone up 6% so has his uh for for raw and PSA 10 his chromium not so much okay but it all yeah there’s other factors to stuff is still there yeah and again this is this is a this is a card that’s got what 15 how many tens 15,000 uh for base over 23,000 23 Chrome 13.4 th000 13 okay so just under 15 for the Chrome about 40% less yeah in paper okay yeah interesting and again it’s great to get listen right now today you get one of the best players for 50 to 75 bucks in a PSA 10 top three players in in a PSA 10 you can acquire a card for 50 to 75 bucks good definitely I get the pop count is there but pop count schop count I mean there’s more than 23,000 baseball collectors out there that would love to have the Rookie of the best player so I get it but that’s also why it’s not a $15,000 card it’s a base card right still get it today for what he’s done at his age it’s it I have a feeling in a few years we’re going to be like damn remember those were 50 bucks I just I’m just saying not going to be Mike Trout money they’re not going to hit thousands and 4,000 in Co money they’re not gonna be not making man numbers but could it be a $500 card in in so many years yeah AB absolutely with the inflation and the the value of the dollar all that stuff and everything in the next five years who knows what’s going to happen but I think that’s a reasonable price for for a card of a guy that’s got a pretty nice pretty nice resume so far at his young age I mean it’s it’s it’s just his 2018 Bowman’s best the ma the highest one over a thousand you know I mean it’s nice Alan yeah see there’s there’s really different there so many different ways to collect this stuff you know with uh okay with uh all these comments are funny you guys are funny do you feel Soto rookie cards could reach the HIDs of trout rookies oh absolutely oh yeah 100% not not the co 4,000 for the base but the Thousand $800 range to thousand yeah and people say no no possible way because they printed less cards in 2011 there’s also a lot more cards collectors 13 years later in 2024 than there was in 2011 that’s why they were printing less and selling less because there was less collectors now fast forward to 2024 going into 25 with this new big contract and his resume 100% I could see that card over 500 if he continues to play like this and healthy 100% that’s over a4500 card in four years what was Trout’s best year that you would say he had before this whole influx of injuries in mind it has to be a year that Soto was in too yeah it wouldn’t be because Soto’s around I was really good but I could never beat this guy because he was just that much better happens all anybody you can name is better than stto in defense listen me me me at 17 out there is probably pretty much better at defense because I I know some veterans who are walking on bionic legs got more speed than SoDo yeah that’s the that’s the crazy part imagine if Soto had all that yeah how good he would be you’d say thing what really kills me though about this Ary everybody still considers Juan stto a 52 player he not making a bunch of errors but he’s has zero put in the whole entire season from right field which is listen that’s very small from right field in the Yankee Stadium if you got no put outs from right field there’s infielders that can throw from The Outfield and get in the home plate from from that right field that’s the shortest right field porch in baseball isn’t it uh yeah five 314 yeah okay so standard field that’s to the wall I’m talking 20 feet closer he can’t get that ball to home plate so these are his numbers in the field yeah everything is it all does he have negative war in his defense we go back to uh the other one oh this is nationals I’m look at those number 105 runs 76 RBI 67 stolen bases 25 home runs 160 hits he’s got he’s got all he’s got all the tools he just needs to honestly Arie I may get roasted in the chat and that’s okay that’s all right I put I put him as a contender in Breaking Ricky’s record listen he he very well could again it’s health and and listen he he gets that K rate down he’s got to get on base more then but here’s the thing though then they may change where he goes in the lineup steals aren’t a big thing if he’s on a team where they don’t send a bunch of Runners now Tito is gonna go over there Tito is aggressive with the young crew he did it with Cleveland so they will be stealing a lot more so if you’re drafting in fantasy pay attention because Tito is a different type of manager um by fault it will mess him up in in some points which I I fault Tito for but it’s easy because I’m the Monday Morning Quarterback um he’s very loyal to his guys um Dylan Cruz oh it’s way too early you can’t give up Now’s the Time to buy that guy if you were high on Dylan Cruz when he was hyped you buy him when he’s down and he’s very very raw and this is what he did last season yeah he barely played 119 head bats that’s nothing he just had enough time to put on the uniform yeah and again this is these are stats if you watch the team I want to talk to someone that watches the Nationals religiously whether they’re good or bad how did the kid play hey he showed promise here he was in a bunch of bad games well this pitcher went 10 and two uh but he only pitched this many games and he got hurt he’s he’s amazing he’s gonna be the best next year well no they just played bad teams and they blew everybody out it was 10 to nothing 10 to two 12 to one that then you got to look at those stats those pitching stats aren’t that great just like a guy that’s 0 And1 with a 47 AR and S change a scenery watch those 10 games did he get run support uh did he get shelled by a couple bad pitches uh or did he get Shel for three straight Innings they just left him out there to get slaughtered and then he had some good games and then he got beat by bad teams or he got beat by good teams so I agree that’s really really tough man in just comparing Apples to Apples a lot of these current big names that we have in the league now you know Ellie ding all about plate discipline he cut that down by 5% couple of more years of molding and that’s it be good for him is Frank kona’s got a great great manager Frank K’s a Hall of Famer yeah but even just watching the games on TV I don’t get to a ton of games I right I but I watch them I listen on the radio or you just catch the news yeah or just watch the highlights there’s episod there’s a good there’s a couple good channels that actually break down the game and put it under 20 minutes which is a nice it’s it’s better than the news but it’s it’s not as long as the game doesn’t tie you up so you get to watch all the good stuff and you hear the play byplay what’s nice is they do the play byplay so you’ll hear the away team do their call and then when it’s a offensive call they’ll do the um the team that’s on the field for offense whether it’s their home uh radio broadcast which is nice or TV broadcast I like those a lot because you get to hear the unbiased take of a guy that’s like calling the game the right way so I mean it we just got to see a lot of these new kids just get better you know so we’re gonna be like our boy skip over here it’s my turn no it’s my turn skip I love that [ __ ] and sharp those two guys arguing all day how the hell those guys get paid Millions to yell at each other my God it’s just like the guys that pay 47,000 for that baseball they’re probably the same guys giving these two guys Millions to yell at each other just give it some time they got a lot of good pieces right now these are CJ’s recck uh numbers from last season yeah that kid that kid is this kid is another kid 20 homers 133 hits how many at bats that team’s really young yeah that team stripped everything down after the World Series win and pretty much been the quiring pro that manager right now over in Washington he running a daycare center yeah they gotta be one of the youngest teams behind Cleveland OH definitely because Cleveland last year was the youngest they gota be right there look who decides to join in oh Mike you look tired over twice um I can see it I can see it being broken if that rule was not in effect that his record would stand the test okay now what about becket’s new owner do you foresee a future for Becket uh don’t know too much about that so I’m gonna pass on that question okay uh what are your thoughts on what Nat Turner said about those individuals who uh sign oneone cards on sticker Autos deserve jail time yeah yeah it was directed right at tops I don’t think it was directed at the player because the player doesn’t have a choice they gotta sign themet yeah I I 100% agree I mean if it’s a one1 I mean come on you you got to sign one card yeah don’t put a sticker on it just yeah guy C we ship cards graded by PSA all over for a lot that are worth a lot of money no one has FedEx that could send this player this card and get it sent back hey put in box even even if it’s a Redemption it’s it’s got to be on card send the card out you know yeah that’s one thing we did mention Redemption should never be stickers no yeah definitely definitely what else oh do the do the uh would you be okay with a Hall of Famer being in the Hall of Fame not a whole another wing of the Hall of Fame and an addition just the PLA and wherever it goes okay how do you feel about PD uh uh uh Affiliated players getting into the Hall although he did X Y and Z and then a write up you know what I I I I think it’s eventually they’re going to get in um it’s like in that year every pretty much everybody was doing it the pitchers were doing it the Batters were doing it so I I think eventually um they will get in um I don’t know if it’s going to be you know like a a separate part of the hall or something like that but uh yeah I think eventually they will get in okay yeah I just I would like says the whole team already has ped players in it yeah well here’s the problem I have they have the coaches that the managers and stuff like that that knew about this and they all knew about it it was the best it was the best thing for baseball the home the home runs were flying out of the park they needed punishing the kids and they’re rewarding the parents that’s what they were doing after that strike they needed that bump and they got it and they didn’t care how they did it and now they’re going to you know well the strike was their fault too they they cre that whole issue that’s the same damn thing that and I’m bitter about that too because it should have been the Expos and the Indians because that’s who was to win the to go to the series but yeah that’s a whole other issue but yeah I agree it’s you can’t you can’t punish these kids again a lot of these guys are kids and then whatever the reason for taking stuff was whether it was I wanted to get the big money or I needed this or I needed that you can’t you can’t ignore the the the guys in charge especially with baseball it’s a very close-knit thing he’s are together for a very long time not like football for for you know 15 20 games including preseason this is every day yeah this is eight months out of the year plus so I don’t I I don’t like that the fact that some of these guys uh that manage these kids and Coach these kids thing no I’ll tell you what everybody’s happy no honestly we don’t care what happens like if you go on some of the forums and stuff that I follow for Cleveland like on Facebook people are just like we don’t care we’re good we got Santana back we’re happy 20 25 is a win go what well in F go what you said about about Kepler uh why did they pick him up I mean if you look at it the Phillies really only have three outfielders they have casianos roas and Marsh so they need a fourth out fi which is I mean they could run a r and throw Harper back out there no I don’t that’s why I said that’s a risk or or you put schwarber back out in left field which is like which you can anytime if you needed to but Ro raw he’s he could that kid could blow up this year listen roas is a decent player he’s had a he’s not he’s got a great defensive War he’s a good player so his back comes the kid again he’s a kid his back comes around a little bit complate discipline all that stuff he’s going to be around a lot of veterans that want him to succeed so he’s in a good spot so I like guys like him as a as a collector to buy some low cheap cards or yeah he doesn’t have power but he’s got speed now did a good question what’s that will Soto’s collectibility be at the same level as Mike Trout’s in his early years and we said could could the PSA 10 of his base rookie although printed lesson 2011 of trouts it did get to roughly the 800 to a th000 mark not the 4,000 crazy Co number it stayed around a th000 for many years could we see 500 bucks in about three more years to five years I said four to five but in three to five years could we see to Bas now 23,000 on paper 135,000 on the Chrome could we see the paper that’s 50 bucks to 60 bucks right now go to 3 to 500 in 3 to 5 years I would say I would say I I don’t think it would be that drastic drastic I’d probably say like 150 to 200 okay I think and that’s like a graded PSA 10 or just the base just a Bas graded PSA 10 but the pop is 23 each but keep in mind the 23,000 is a lot different cry than 13 years ago when there was less production less people in the hobby 23,000 Baseball fans that want the best player in baseball we’re talking about if this happens who doesn’t that’s why my argument with Bas is always okay I know it’s not going to be worth a thousand right there’s a ton of players there’s more we know hundreds of people that would love to have one that don’t own one in a PSA 10 so I’m just saying 50 bucks for this card to 75 now for what he’s done at his age to me is a great buy yeah it’s only gonna get more expensive if he stays healthy and everything is projected on yeah even if it goes to you know even if it goes to 150 or it’s you’re still 3x in it yeah exactly yeah so it yeah it’s a wise investment it’s a good investment I believe I mean I think it’s a good card to get now while you have a chance because you know when these guys retire and it becomes a several hundred dollar card and the money is different in five years and you know doesn’t get you much anymore than it does today that that does make sense but then from just a collecting standpoint but you don’t need to buy 10 I’m just saying for The Collector to buy one I thought that under bucks to get the top three best baseball players right now in the last couple years active and here’s the distinction between the two between trout and SoDo trout has been stuck in La since 2011 okay he’s got an established collectibility you look at stto he started in Washington crossed over to San Diego he’s lost some Washington collectors not many but he’s lost some gained some in San Diego he left San Diego went to New York okay same thing so we got a domino effect with SoDo okay the moment he he left the Bronx to go to Queens he’s picked up more collectors than queens and lost a boatload in the Bronx here’s where I think he lost the boatload too in F or didn’t gain because maybe guys that were big on him uhuh were waiting for him to sign or not so you had a lot of guys that were probably going to spend more money on him right had he signed so I don’t think those I don’t think those are necessarily losses I think those are going to offset the gains that you see from the Mets fans because now the Mets know 10 to 15 years regardless of what the uh waiver periods and trade Clauses are that contract is like I want to play here forever till I’m done now here’s the thing kind of like going piggybacking off a mic let’s just say on year five he decides he wants to move on from the Mets one where is he gonna go GNA Pi that I don’t think it’s gonna matter in five years because he’s gonna have if he’s gonna be playing like he’s playing today and let’s just say that’s 30 home runs a year that’s 150 let’s just knock that down to realistically it’s some bumps in the road and it’s 125 so we had 125 to what 200 homers he’s at three and a quarter now we’re talking Machado trout Aeron we’re talking those guys now and he’s got the years the Rings the MVPs the allstars whatever it is and all those stats I don’t think it matters then so right now he’s at home runs yeah so let’s just say realistically he replicates his stats for the next five years as he did in 24 then he gets to go somewhere else based on whatever part of that contract okay I don’t think it matters because then he’s at 325 to 350 home runs I think then he’s at that Machado level and those guys I just named I don’t think it matters then good question but in five years just stay healthy do what you’ve been doing and no steroids and everything’s fine and collectability is going to be there um as a Card Collector I would want them um am I gonna go out and buy 50 of them and get all the rookies in the player run no but I definitely at least want one I’ve got to have me a Rizzo rookie that’s you know graded or ungraded I gotta have a gold Schmid I gotta have a Harper that’s how I am with those guys outside collectors non-pc guys non-pc team I still want the one card that’s why I’m great point I think five years from today a lot of teams will think twice about handing out the contract that stto just received well I think I think teams are already learning that because there’s only two players that’s in the $700 million range anyway I’m talking to guys that were making 350 million I think it’s the same thing look at look at San Diego they dodged the huge bullet what if he was in more trouble what if he hurt himself on that motorcycle and he broke his elbow or something really bad happened like like they just gave that guy a bunch of money and he did that what months later that’s I mean these are the contracts that we currently have we got one then sh at 700 yeah we have about a 275 to3 million gap between sh and trout sure which judge Machado yeah those are the guys I’m talking about right there those $350 million guys in the 300 million doll range think all those guys learned wait Yamamoto got he got 325 million when did that Happ when he came over yeah oh my God yep good Lord Seager got 320 oh my God I don’t pay attention to this stuff because it makes me nauseous I just want here’s the question this is insane if saki gets picked up by one of these big Market teams is he gonna be in the $700 Mark with these two no no no no definitely not I think he’ll be down to that 300 plus million yeah for sure he’s good pitcher very good pitch is loan still in or is a is a Magnus look at that loan said uh what two two two rings in the top 10 combined we know how that goes yeah this this is the ultimate you know yeah guy that’s pretty cheap in today’s money nine million is dirt cheap for a guy that can lace them up and get out there and still throw and eat up I agree it’s just a crazy that’s why this money thing is so tough for me to even like comment everybody has been arguing baseball should have a salary cap I don’t think I think they should have a salary floor I don’t think the cap is what’s needed I think a floor is needed more than a salary I know that sounds that’s where arbitration comes in though right that’s true but that also it’s a one it’s it’s a it’s a it’s a dead end Road you know you know the outcome you’re one two and three you know what it’s going to be so that’s why they’re getting creative and giving these kids 70 million and 100 million at 20 years old and three games played you know because they’d rather gamble that way instead of saying hey if he gets good I gotta pay this guy 300 million or he walks and he gets 400 million or I get real lucky and I I spend 70 million and I snag me a $300 million player and give him 70 right now that’s start seeing just start gambling yeah floor comes with that’s true yeah I’m saying if we had to pick one I would go with the floor I know that sounds backwards but yeah it is what it is I mean I’m still gonna watch baseball anyway absolutely so I’m still struggling to buy a box of transcendent or whatever the hell that stuff’s that’s like a $500 box to open and maybe you get some Cleveland Indians and those are tough to come by and I yeah that’s an expensive product to buy into it used to be cheaper it used to be 300 something now it’s 480 or something everything used to be cheaper yeah hopefully it gets back there somewhat next year hope you got any breaks coming up for the new year just just that one it’s the gter um it’s a full case of gter Chrome from 2022 so there’ll be 31 spots um it’s 49 plus shipping uh random teams there’ll be one person that gets all the non-baseball just like I did in the other one which is a like the Home Run Spot you want to land on that one but it’s all Chrome it’s 12 hobby boxes um I’ve never seen it in case format until recently but I got offered one um so I bought it and uh yeah they’ve always been like loose boxes and I’ve never even seen a case broken before so so is is that the one that has you’re not guaranteed an auto in there correct but but is it is it one Auto per case or like four Autos per case I’m not sure I’ve never seen one yeah they’re hard to hit we did however I did have those loose boxes and I did pull that Wan sto for Ry about three months ago because I know A-Rod mini Auto framed was pulled oh the regular the regular uh regular gter yeah yeah because these um the Chrome has I want to say the day we had the people in in town for the national I think there was between four to six color per box and some had seven oh wow I think the highest we had was seven because uh I know Don bought a box and Mike huddle was here and uh his son opened the box for Dom and I think Dom got seven colored cards out of that yeah so yeah that’s I’m pretty sure there’s roughly four to six is the normal but the highest box we saw was seven so should be a lot of color don’t know what the auto is going to look like but you know how it goes It’s 22 product um you get the big rookies in Julio and Whit Steven Quan and recently all star coming up that’s how the hell you going to say big rookies and mention Quan’s name well he’s got he’s actually his stuff’s been going up man his stuff yeah surprisingly he’s getting some love now which I don’t like because I’m it’s getting more money to buy these cards I love collecting what he was just a nobody like no one knew about him you know are do you have any do you have any I’m sorry do you have any plans for archives Arie uh you know I’m GNA wait Mike and if Mike if you want to do one I could ship you the damn cards and you do it I don’t care I don’t think I’m going to do I mean if I did one it would be like a three box break but they’re like at 155 so it’s let me see if I can get it cheaper before you do anything because listen those prices are going to be the same effort rolls out let me see if I can get some and maybe hey I’ll take a half a case in the store and then you do the other half case you do the break yeah it’s not like I’m not paying I’m not paying more money for that no I’ll I’ll buy an older product I’ll buy a 23 product that’s better but it’s got good prospects it’s better product it’s cheaper or the same price but it’s a better product I’m not yeah but the 24 class is really it’s pretty damn good oh it’s definitely good I definitely would love to do it the two Autos is a draw that’s nice because you get the old players in there too and right those guys can be pretty cool so right you know yeah we we’ll play it by year when it comes out what January 8 is that what it is Jan January I think January 8 yeah yeah we’ll keep an eye on it you know as it gets closer but yeah don’t jump the gun on that though that’s that’s a product that’s not going to shoot the 200 and I should have bought it at 155 yeah don’t think that yeah it’s not like years past where all this product kept coming out and as next product came out the last product went down in price it’s not doing that anymore Platinum is the one where we missed out on where we’re like damn it I should have bought every damn box freaking case of blasters on that damn it everything case of everything but again it’s lot of money to just sit on so yeah we’ll see what happens and see how cheap the stuff is in a case format and then go from there all right if not we boxes too because that’s kind of cool true you know that’s one Auto perverses too so y so I appreciate everybody hanging out
